aang: fearless and lover, don't get me wrong, he loves the sad songs, the heartbroken songs, the angry songs just as much as anyone else, but he just connects with like, the slight naivety of it all? like he's def matured since his first few crushes but it's the joy of that first love that really sweeps him off his feet ya know? and then the lover album is a more mature perspective on like a loving relationship ("cornelia street" who???) and he just loves it - OH and 1989, he and suki FUCK with 1989

katara: she's a reputation girl no doubt about it, "don't blame me" is literally her song, she owns it thank you very much, and she and zuko are reputation besties who have all the merch and they scream all the lyrics and wholeheartedly believe that rep tour is the best tour of all time HOWEVER she loves loves loves "marjorie", "don't you ever grow up" (balls her eyes out at the pair of them, but when she first heard dyegu she was sobbing -) and while they're not her fav albums, she loves singing fearless and lover with aang

sokka: ok, sokka is one of those fans who you don't realise are that intense until they are screaming themselves hoarse at folklore, mkay? I'm talking, it's not just hakoda and bato giving him the worried side-eye, it's everyone AND their mother (well, not everyone's mother but ya know) cause like, sokka was DEF involved in this major college cheating scandal and got his heart uber uber broken and had no support system because he just... didn't tell anyone because he didn't want people to worry and so screaming folklore is his therapy session. oh, and when he was dating yue their album was speak now, they literally did their homecoming king and queen dance to "enchanted" they were that couple, and he still loves the album so much but he just... can't speak for hours after a folklore song pops up, and couldn't speak for a week after the eras tour (in a similar vein, he's a big "the archer" fan, he and toph vibe with it so hard)

toph: she loves reputation (NOT for the same reasons as katara and zuko but they all still vibe with each other) because there's soooo much happening and she can literally feel the beat in her bones and the songs slap so hard and she can rage in peace :))) also she fucks so hard with "picture to burn", the harry styles saga (style, ootw, iion, wonderland, etc), "holy ground", "miss americana and the heartbreak prince" and "the archer" (and believe me she will go OFF at anyone who doesn't like the archer because "the beat's not supposed to drop, that's the whole point -)

zuko: reputation reputation reputation. all the fucking way y'all. is it shocking that "I did something bad" is his song, not his favourite (his favourites are the speak now vault tracks, "that's the way I loved you", "message in a bottle", and "wonderland" but that's neither here nor there) and no one, NO ONE gets in the way during the line "if a man talks shit then I owe him nothing" like sorry taylor, that's zuko's line actually. also he thought he was going to love folklore but then "seven" came up and he literally could not cope, and when he heard evermore was going to be in a similar vein he refused to listen to it too - he did eventually listen to the albums when he got into a better headspace for them and now really does likes them, but he avoids "seven" like the plague

suki: suki loves the breakup albums, red and midnights, and everyone, including suki, is confused because no offence to my girl but she's had one break up and that was with sokka, and whole it was sad, it was mutual and nothing bad happened they just decided they'd be better as friends, but she loves the albums so so much, so who is anyone to deny her that? also, she didn't like "me!" at first and thought it was so so cringe, but now she loves it and hates that she used to hate it and hates that taylor doesn't play it on the set list at concerts due to people hating on it (even though suki would never tell taylor that she hated on one of her songs, she still feels guilty) - btw, she and aang are besties and they work at the same place and it takes them like forty minutes on a good day to drive there so they blast 1989 the whole time and it's such a bop

yue: speak now girly, did I fucking stutter? she ate that album up when it first came out and she ate up the rerecording when that came out too, and don't get me started on the vault tracks (she feels as if a piece of her childhood was missing because "electric touch" ft fallout boy wasn't on the og track and she looooves fallout boy) "enchanted" is her and sokkas song and when it comes on they do a lil dance together even though they don't love each other in the same way anymore, they still love each other!!! but she now loves "enchanted" separate from sokka ya know? yue also loves midnights, literally because suki loves it so so much so yue listened to it for her (simp) and fell in love with it (and suki, it was truly a win win situation for her) but she specifically listens to midnights: 3am version because "paris" is her favourite and she doesn't understand how anyone (ahem, suki) could listen to midnights without listening to "paris" at least three times

azula: we all know she used to pretend to hate taylor swift but now she respects the hustle (but she's not a die hard swiftie and will happily critique her alongside katara, who azula was surprised to see critiquing taylor but katara's got her priorities in place she knows what's up) and azula loves red (duh) and evermore. surprisingly, she's not as into reputation as zuko and katara, and while she enjoys some of the songs on there, she won't intentionally listen to the whole album on her lonesome. she, sokka, and ty lee wore matching "cowboy like me" outfits to the eras tour

mai: fearless, and HEAR ME OUT HEAR ME TBE FUCK OUT I'm right. she's like aang in this regard, she grew up with all these expectations on her for corporation alliances and shit and she couldn't help but picture herself finding love for HERSELF having the CHOICE like, she will defend "love story" to the day she dies because it resonated so much with baby mai finding love against all odds and at the end her parents agreeing to it. now she's older and recognises a few, uh... interesting points about her upbringing, but she's still gonna defend baby mai's love for fearless. I know that the tortured poets department hasn't come out yet but... I have a feeling that mai will fuck SO HARD with that one too, but she's more a fan on individual songs than whole albums ("delicate", "paper rings" (ty lee simp lmao), "seven", "better than revenge", "getaway car", "endgame", etc)

ty lee: she actually sobbed when lover came out, I can't tell you how much lover resonated with her, she loved the aesthetic the vibe the songs, and like she literally had imposter syndrome from being a swiftie because while she appreciates the angry and sad songs, she's searching for the joy and a lot of swifties were like "no she's past that point so we have to be too" and she felt quite isolated BUT then taylor released lover and ty lee felt so so seen cause like, it's a happy album with sad songs and that's all a girl can ask for. ALSO she loves "bejeweled" and "slut!" I kid you not "slut!" is probably her fav song even though it's not on lover. she also loves evermore because it's a sad album with happy songs (do you see) and she broached the idea of her and azula wearing matching "cowboy like me" outfits but azula didn't respond at first and ty lee thought that it wasn't a good idea but azula didn't respond because she was texting sokka and sokka fell in love with the idea and they spent like two weeks figuring out exactly what it would look like and they brought their ideas to ty lee for the final approval and she was like "... you guys actually wanna do this?" but yeah. they all slayed

hakoda loves 1989 and reputation because the whole drama happened during his and bato's breaks between tours and then they got sent off before reputation came out, so hakoda was so invested and then really pissed cause he had to wait a couple of months before he got back so katara could explain the intricacies of the new album to him

bato is like sokka, he loves folklore not because he's a folklore girly™ but just because of the vibes, however bato 🤝 mai, resonating deeply with "seven"

THANK YOUUUU stay stay stay is a fav of mine specifically w the analysis of it almost feeling satirical ?? like a self awareness in how toxic the relationship actually is “i love you because you’ve given me no choice but to stay” and most people i know that like it are like “it’s so cute” and im like. you don’t get it like i do.

Exactly lmao. So my take of Stayx3 has always been that like it's the equivalent of letting a white flag turn the red ones rosy. Like it is deliberately in between WANEGBT and The Last Time because all of them tell the same story/flaws from 3 different views and stages of grief. WANEGBT is anger and the initial 'no it's done!' after a fight. Stayx3 is both denial and bargaining where you try to make it work and that's why it's deliberately 'cute' because she's putting up the white flag and letting him 'win' and in the process ignoring the red flags (hence my red flags to rosy comment lmao) and asking for reconciliation. And finally The Last Time is somewhere between bargaining, sadness and acceptance because unlike Stayx3 (but like WANEGBT), the whole song focuses the issues they had and accepts that if nothing changes, the relationship can't continue, but unlike WANEGBT, there's no longer anger, just sadness and pleading. Basically though, Stayx3 is the bridge that gets her there. It is the other side of the coin to show she really did try to make it work and, as the only of the three songs to have the good aspects of the relationship within it, WHY she tried so hard to make it work. And to me, much like the rest of RED (OG and TV's vault tracks), it is perfect. But hey, that's coming from someone who feels that IKYWT to ATW to 22 is the most natural and relatable transition in the world while most of the fandom thinks it's the messiest. I guess ultimately I agree with you that like you either get it or you don't and I feel like unfortunately a lot of people simply do not, but I am glad to find someone else who does lmao.

Okay. So. For starters, there’s Lauren Caster. She’s gone through many names bc she’s basically my self insert and I can’t seem to pick a name for myself so she’s been cycled through the name box—but she started out as Lauren caster so we stick with that(she’s also a character for a book my best friend and I are writing called Purple War, so)

Then we have Nes and Noah Caster(from the same book) They’re twin brothers who while still in the womb were cursed. Basically long story short, Lauren Caster was cursed by this woman with the intention of harming the children but it didn’t work. The boys ended up with purple(see what I did there?) splotches on their faces. Well—Nes ended up with large splotches somewhat mimicking vitiligo, and Noah ended up with millions of tiny freckles all over his face and neck and shoulders/arms(Nes is still bitter about it💀). They reside in a world where two sisters, the red queen and the blue queen, were at odds. The red queen was defeated years ago and her spirit was magically entombed in the ceiling above her throne. To summarize the book, Nes goes to steal from the royal vault, meets princess Atari(my bestie’s character. yes their names are a play on the game systems, that’s an even longer story if you wanna hear that too. It’s really really funny.) after being thrown in the dungeon, was let out and they begin to fall in love but while the two were snooping around the blue and red connected castles meant for the two queens to rule a purple kingdom together, they found the red queen’s throne room. Atari sat on it and was possessed. Where Noah comes in is he was the royal cook and helps Nes with pulling the red queen’s spirit out of atari(we haven’t completely ironed out the details of how).

The next character is also from the Purple War universe as well, and I actually have a picture of her if you scroll down to a tag game I was in, it’s on my blog. Her name is Aisling Bohdi. She’s a Dragonborn woman who’s parents were killed by a town they used to live on the outskirts on. Aisling was about 14ish when it happened, and she’d been out running errands and such in the next town over. When she returned she was chased by the townsfolk up a mountain trail and into a cave, where she lost the mob and resided for another roughly 7ish years. When she finally exited the cave, she met a man named Malek Bruce, the son of a lawyer and he actually practiced law as well, but in a falling out with his father, quit. He acts dumber than he is, and he’s got some major detective skills. Together the two end up going on a few adventures and wind up teaming up with nes, Noah and Atari to ultimately defeat the red queen in(get ready to come full circle) the Purple War(whoaaa!)

Now for someone not from purple war. Honeybee Vega. I’m extremely proud of her—and I had some art somewhere but apparently I deleted it in my desperately needed camera roll purge(I had over 65k in there dude, my storage was begging for it’s life constantly). Honeybee came from my dream smp phase(I’m aware of how cringe it is, but it got me through the hardest year of my life). She’s a humanoid honeybee with one human eye and one giant complex eye(the eyes visible on the sides of bees heads. Quick detour for a bee anatomy lesson bc they’re my favorite animals—they have two large complex eyes on the sides of their heads which humans who aren’t insane like me and love bees perceive to be their only eyes but depending on the type of bee, they can have more eyes on the top of their heads called simple eyes that are used to assist bees with sun orientation so they can navigate during the day.) anyway, she has a complex eye as well as a human one so her eyesight is very bad, bless her. I adore her, she’s one of my more visually complex characters. She also has wings, and used to be able to fly but during a war one of those wings were slashed and she was stabbed and almost died, had it not been for a friend saving her.

AZAZEL - drow fighter - he’s a fan of r&b and psychedelic soul music. exclusively listens to his favs on vinyl because he’s over 300 years old and is stuck in his ways. his favorite food is gazpacho, enough so that when he was in dire straits he named his blue drake mount gazpacho (gaz for short, gazpacho crostini is her full name - he was lost in the wastes for over a year and that did things to his mind, okay?). he would never rob a bank unless his partner insisted they needed to lift an ancient artifact and then he’s good to go, but azazel comes from money, so…he’ll just dip into his own coffers, thanks much.

CHAPULINA - drow druid - big fan of folk music, definitely listens to a lot of joan baez. she likes uplifting protest music. her favorite food is probably vegetable oyakodon (she’s vegetarian, u see). nothing like some tasty comfort food, especially when you find out your moon is a giant spider egg. anyways! while she’s a staunch pacifist, she WOULD rob a bank (then destroy it) by infesting the entirety of it with plantlife, poison ivy-style, then tear open the vaults in her bear - or stronger - forms. at the end of the day folks would assume a gang of wild animals joined together to rob the place, and, well. why not? she’d ultimately redistribute the money to those in need, taking none for herself. eyeroll

OH THANK YOU FOR THIS BC I AGREE THEY ARE CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. We’re going 6-1 bc I love drama and also 1 is one of my fav Taylor songs ever so I want it to be the finale

6. We Were Happy: Midnight Rain’s prequel (no it’s NOT about Taylor Lautner literally fight me), definitely had to grow on me but it’s just really pretty. Keith ate the harmonies let’s be honest, especially in the last chorus. When it was good baby! It was good baby! I definitely understand why it didn’t make the cut for the og album but I’m definitely glad we have it now!

5. Mr Perfectly Fine: It’s a great song, but (and idk if this was just in Australia) the radio overplayed it so much that I am literally still recovering, like I will never choose to put it on, only on shuffle. Wonderfully petty and we love a key change but I must say Forever & Always does it better.

4. That’s When: I have genuinely NO idea why it gets so much hate? It’s super catchy, perfectly bittersweet, good use of both perspectives which Taylor excels at every time. I think their voices sound great together, the backing vocals are so pretty. The bridge is super simple but the vulnerability? 2nd chance romance? The way they say cuh-rying? I love it all

3. You All Over Me: Walked so rwylm could run, I ADORE the production (the opening is so peace it drives me crazy), Maren’s harmonies are so good, the whole thing feels very mature for Fearless honestly. Like she lived! She learned! Had you! Got burned! One of her most underrated songs period.

2. Don’t You: As someone who took 4 years to get over my ex while remaining friends with them the whole time YEAH THIS ONE HITS. Love the production even if it isn’t very “Fearless” bc I think it works really well with the more mature and reflective tone. At the same time the somewhat pleading nature of each line of the chorus makes her sound so young, and you can hear her frustration at both herself and the subject with “I swore I wouldn’t do this” because ultimately they still hold this power over her, so all she can do is beg them not to abuse. Another baby rwylm, and I love her for it.

1. BYE BYE BABY: BEST VAULT TRACK (YES THAT INCLUDES ATW) AND HONESTLY SOME DAYS BEST SONG ON FEARLESS (she swaps with F&A constantly). The VOCALS first of all oh my god, specifically the chorus directly after the bridge with the option up on “Bye bye babyyyYYYyy” while the music cuts out, honestly could be my fav moment in any Taylor song ever. The harmonies the whole time are just perfection, specifically the male vocals at the end of the second chorus. “Feels like I’m becoming a part of your past” OH MY GOD? SHE PUT IT INTO WORDS? There’s a resigned quality to the sadness, she knows nothing will change this outcome but still holds enough love to call them an endearment even in this betrayal. The high piano melody almost sounds like a music box doomed to keep repeating. One of her first movie references if I’m not mistaken with the opening lyric and we love the birth of a career long motif. ALSO THE DRUMS. I JUST LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH, BEGGING ON MY KNEES FOR IT AS A MELBOURNE SURPRISE SONG EVEN IF I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO’LL BE HAPPY WITH IT

I LOVE RANKING MY TARUS!! my fav pastime thank u for asking <3 MWAH MWAH!!

as things stand, i have five tarus; inceltaru, puptaru, foxtaru, fratboy taru, and normal taru. a wonderful wide selection of tarus!! in terms of strength, there's a lot of variabilities in this selection (ie. visions and other physical advantages like fangies...) so we're gonna be ignoring anything outside of the 'base' each taru is workin with.

fifth place, obviously (sorry), goes to inceltaru... he's more of a string bean than anything, minimal muscle mainly because he rarely leaves the house. sure, he owns workout equipment he uses maybe once a week but between that and his diet consisting mostly of liquid (energy drinks), there's really not anything there to be built. he can absolutely rough you up a bit but he'll be heaving like he just ran ten miles afterwards, poor boy...

fourth place, foxtaru!! do note there's a considerable gap between inceltaru and foxtaru, inceltaru is just a pile of sticks. foxtaru actually has some meat on his bones, he likes to run for the majority of his exercise and he's very lithe so while he may not have major bulk, he's quick. foxtaru doesn't get nearly as winded from playing around with you and could happily carry you around regardless of your weight.

third place goes to frat boy taru. he's kind of the opposite of foxtaru in that he's not as fast but he's got MUSCLES. you won't catch him on the treadmill, instead he can be found pumping pure, raw IRON. broad chest, big arms, fantastic dorito body... give him the chance and he'll vault you like a spear (please don't he's not fast enough to catch and break your fall).

second place is puptaru!! he's got the speed of foxtaru (puppy genes = an innate desire for fast) and the muscles of fratboy taru packed all into one big doggy!! puptaru is very much a working dog and his body definitely shows that. need him to snag a bird straight out of the air?? consider it done. need him to lift a five piece four-hundred pound patio set?? it's in his arms, where do you want it. the biggest and most well behaved taru, really!! could launch you like a trebuchet but would never because that would hurt you duh!! he's got a couple braincells sometimes...

first place... it would be wrong for me to put anyone but canon taru here. all things considered, this is a man that has spent years doing nothing but turning his body into a weapon. it doesn't matter what any of the others start doing, they'll never catch up because childe himself, the eleventh harbinger, will already be doing it better. canon model be gone, i know he's yolked!!

if you were to throw them all into a ring they'd team up at the start, inceltaru would be mauled first for simply being the worst, then the others would take out fratboy taru for being the second worst, and then it would be an actual guy vs guy vs guy. foxtaru goes out next because he just doesn't have the strength and then it's puptaru vs canon taru. i think they'd form a weird truce because real recognizes real… but, ultimately canon taru would win!!

If there's ever an urge it's with him and like on any other Tuesday, he has you cornered in a communal holding station, occasionally staving you a look and reconciling every chanced encounter with a smirk. He's definitely onto you.

"So this is it?" Paul queries in motion. His thick, grabby hands work around the weighted garter that was perched on his hip and aching to come off.

The two of you silently parish for the night after jamming a local drug kingpin in the thrush of south side L.A. It was a taxing mission, nearly dodging stray bullets while being an affiant in demolishing rooted crime. Another days work turned into a thrilling, long haul game of cat and mouse.

"I wouldn't exactly say that." You unload your ammunition while alluring with some ridden sex appeal.

Your actions naturally heed way and after a couple clicks and shutters, the glock thumps against the steel countertop. You put forth your surrendering, slightly exuberant in thought while Paul hoovers after freeing himself from the heavy machinery that he'd been equipped with to much of his own free will.

"Oh yeah?" He involuntarily grunts, adjusting waist of his slacks at a taller stance. There's no doubt you wanted to climb Paul Diskant like a sprawling white oak tree. Unbeknownst to him, you'd harness the dirtiest thoughts during the most impassive raids because it was almost acrimonious than the crime itself. It's a shame that he chooses to act dumb when men like him knew how to entertain a good fuck on legs.

"I mean we still have another round of dirty cop to play before calling it quits." You remit while your eyes suggestively seek for his from across the room.

Your inhibitions falter a mere decibel, a little more than you had let on. But ultimately, there was nothing to loose when you had already kicked the bucket across the halfway yard.

"Besides my job here isn't quite done yet." You quip and he peers up at you in a snap, irises slightly darkened with convoy as his brows arched in questioning.

"You don't say." Paul never knew what exactly he had gotten into when you were assigned his deputing partner in the venturing LAPD Special Crimes Unit. Initially, he thought you'd be like any other 'follow-by-the-book' buddy cop but you were far from it.

You were fiery and fearless. A growing pain in the ass whenever you’d impulsively challenge each heist with avidity. To much of his own stalwart disapproval, he's also witnessed you pistol whip a gangbanger and that in itself was assuring enough to meagre his own harpooning doubts. You were something special, a woman he couldn't quite shake off even though your time with the commission was coming to a low laying end. He just couldn’t let you go, not out of mind nor out of sight.

"So whose hand are we forcing here?"

"Yours because if I remember correctly, I believe I'm owed a lunch." You state, squinty eyed while undoing parts of your uniform.

The post-ritual change up after every staged bust had irrevocably fuelled the vaulting chemistry between you two. The you and him time was a sacred and private affair that you’d look forward to. It meant that you could divulge in saccharine conversation, edge towards him in any possible way and peacock your interest.

"Oh that's right." Paul while standing upright leans back on his haunches as he obnoxiously reminisces the countless times you'd humour him with the kill shot idea of sharing one celebratory meal. "Tell me darling, how many guys did you hit this time? Was it four on me and more on you? Or was the wager a bit more circumspect?"

"I got five heads alright bub. All non-critical and below the neck, Ludlow approved — now what do you say Disco?" You tally your shots with dexterity and the partially emptied barrel shows for the missing bullets, winning you your end of the bargain.

"I don't know Y/L/N. I think two of those shots were sunk in by me." Paul points at his own holster while you moan and groan.

"So it might've been collateral damage, big whoop." You shrug, seated and hunching over a long bench to change out of the clunky, rubber work boots you wore facetiously around the stomping grounds. "Now is that a yes or a maybe?"

"How about a no?" Paul’s lilt tests you, slowly forcing the words out for you to gnaw on.

"Not a chance." You spitfire, balling up the thick pair of crew socks together before aimlessly chucking it aside.

"Persistence, I like it." He smirks while coming out of his SWAT approved gear. "So what exactly is the motive?"

"Nothing. I just wanna talk." You unzip your tactile vest, one that's dented in from all the rubberized bullets, and immediately ease into your form.

"We don't talk, sweetheart." Paul tosses aside his wired under piece that's meant to track motion and catch radio frequency signals. He would distractedly make sure to turn off the call settings and acquire any other fixtures that were looped around him while considering the most out of your eyelet musings.

"We do now." You flirtatiously crow.

"About what exactly?" He pops open his freehold locker with ease and clatter. The changing unit is empty this particular evening which makes it easier for you both to be a little unforgiving with your choice of words and exuding actions.

"About anything and everything." You sing song and sway, trying voyeur your case.

"So she says." With smooth range of movements, he single handedly takes off his shirt and you can't help but give him some amorous stank eye. His chiselled bare back is turned away from you as he grabs another Paul classic crew neck to change into. "Why do I have the slightest feeling that you're coming onto me Y/L/N?"

He huffs and swivels around mid-shirt change, his head pops out of the opening in time to chronicle your concerns. His glassy eyes are now gleaming with a hint of mischief as he props one arm on top of the metal locker door while the other hand is rested on his hip.

“Not that there’s anything wrong with it — I’d be really flattered if that were the case.”

"Maybe. Doesn't hurt to try, now does it?" You continue to ogle him like a wired spinster out to cast away a long dry spell and Paul, he wasn't in any way, shape or form helping you in your wise perturbing conquest. “Part of the fun in knowing is that I can’t always have my way with you.”

"Huh so the boys were right about you after all." He wags a stocky finger in your direction while shuffling around to stow clothes away in his marked duffle. "You certainly are a prowess attempting to be demure.”

"You know what they can get fucked for all I care." You swing one leg over the bench as you give him some much respected privacy to change into a pair of running pants. Your eyes were drawn away but your thoughts still wandered.

"Careful partner, these walls have ears." He shimmies into each pant leg as you're left immobile in pursuit. “I’m sure of it.”

"And I don't have much time so are you gonna take me out or what?" You feign annoyance as your hand holds onto the crook of your neck for some residual support. Paul didn’t know if you were being serious until you weaned him an impervious look.

"Oh so what? This is on me now?" He gaudily snorts in retaliative fashion while fastening his wrist watch.

"Look I can't be the only one pulling my weight here." You study his demise, his body language and the way his arms beautifully flexed and gleamed under the warm glow of strip lighting. He was a sight for sore eyes and you simply couldn’t look away — that is until you got your way.

"You know what, let's do it." Your face changes a little as you’re double downing on his camaraderie.

In the waves of brief consuming silence, Paul finally zips up his bag and then debilitatingly drives another point home.

“I mean it's just lunch right?" The locker slams shut for added effect.

"It can mean whatever you want it to mean." You try not to stammer but somewhere in the line of communication, your voice betrays you.

"With you, it'd mean the world to me." Paul presses a humble hand to a bulging pec, making a grand oath gesture that borders sarcastic truancies. You’ve nearly had it with him, he just can’t get enough of you it seems.

"Now you're just talking out of your ass." You quack back like a chirpy teenage girl refusing to believe anything for herself. Your arms are folded across your chest, earning a gusty laugh from Paul who flaunts all his pearly Crest whites just for you.

"Don't shit where you eat then, Y/L/N." He slings the straps of the duffle onto one shoulder while quickly checking his surroundings, completely disregarding your schlump.

"Ha! We'll come to knowing that real soon Diskant."

"Oh you bet we will." He winks at you before choosing to retire for the night. He affirms your departure as well and then ambles out the door with his own deviant prerogative. “Just make sure you know what you’re getting into sweetheart.”

One of the most wildest takes i’ve ever come across after joining fandom, was that the loved ones of a problematic fav are actually the ‘bad guys’ or the ones in the wrong for having ‘negative’ reactions to the crimes committed by the fav. 

Fans’ ability to do insane mental gymnastics to make out the villainous characters into the only possible victims and every other character is suddenly the bad guy, is awful, and so frustrating. (And this is coming from someone who DOES love villains/antagonists/characters who end up doing awful things)

Let’s look at the Umbrella Academy for example. Vanya, literally slits her sister’s throat after losing control of her powers, and then leaves her for dead. She doesn’t call an ambulance or call for any type of help. Just...leaves her there to die. If it weren’t for the brothers who happened to be searching for them, Allison would’ve died. And, the brothers find out that Vanya’s out of control powers, that almost killed Allison, and actually ended up hurting other people, will be the reason the whole fucking world is destroyed within DAYS. I’m not saying Luthor was necessarily RIGHT, to lock up Vanya, but also the amount of hatred this character got for doing so, even though it was a pretty logical action to take, was baffling. From what Luthor knew, Vanya was going to kill everyone in like a day. From the information he had, locking her in that vault would make her unable to use her powers. That’s what they thought. He had a pretty normal reaction given the circumstances. Let’s see,  lock up Vanya, who almost killed Allison, is supposed to destroy the world, and might accidentally kill us all, in a vault where she can’t use her powers, or risk everyone, including 7 billion people, dying. I GET that Vanya didn’t have bad intentions. I GET, that her horrible childhood played a huge part in how things turned out, and that her inability to control her abilities aren’t her fault. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s completely shitty to expect people she hurt to just roll with it and be loving angels. Like, was Luthor supposed to go “hey, Allison’s in there, dying, and she likely won’t be able to speak for a long time, and you left her for dead, also you might destroy the whole world tomorrow, but that’s okay because i love you and i’m here for you”???? How is THAT realistic? Yeah, him not locking her up probably wouldn’t have caused her to lose further control, but he had no way of knowing, and it’s really unfair to expect people who were hurt to easily forgive and accept the person responsible for that hurt. Are some people capable of putting that aside, and comforting those who hurt them? Yes, definitely. But it’s unfair to expect it of them, and being reasonably upset/angry isn’t some sort of moral failing. 

Another popular example is ROTS. Anakin (who is one of my fav characters) LITERALLY helped slaughter all the Jedi, and stood by as order 66 was executed. He joined the Sith, and he murdered INNOCENT children, dude strangled his own pregnant wife, but yeah sure, Obi-Wan leaving him burning after giving Anakin multiple warnings to stop fighting is the bad guy. Obi-Wan, who lost EVERYTHING in the span of a few hours, his home, his family, and was betrayed by the closest person to him, is the bad guy for not helping Anakin in the end. It’s “Screw Obi-Wan for adding more pain to poor Anakin’s life”. That’s the tragedy, right? Instead of you know “Anakin lost everything he tried so desperately to save because of his own choices, without realizing it before it was too late”. Like, I’m not saying Anakin is an awful character that shouldn’t be liked. I get that shit happens to people to make them hurt others. But it’s ridiculous to blame every single person in the world and not the person who made the ultimate mistakes. Did Obi-Wan and the jedi contribute to Anakin’s fall in the end? Yes, but without realizing it, and it was never their intention. They couldn’t have known. And Anakin made his own choice in the end. 

Also, let’s look at SPN. Jack, destined to destroy the whole world, accidentally kills many innocent people, and kills Mary, but Dean wanting to lock him up where he can’t hurt anyone, and not willing to call him family after Jack killed his mom, is suddenly the bad, abusive guy??? Even after being told by Chuck, someone they thought was good, that Jack needed to be die for the world to be safe, Dean is still the bad guy for wanting to do what’s safest for everyone, and wanting to avenge his mom since apparently know one else sees her as a victim of Jack? And it’s worse, because the fandom actually blames Mary for being killed. 

A fourth example. In Agents of Shield, Fitz knocks out Daisy, restrains her, and then literally cuts into her neck to retrieve her powers that she didn’t want. he violates her and continues to work as she screams and begs him to stop. He hurts her and betrays her trust completely. He risks permanently paralysing her from the neck down, AND he also threatens an injured Elena, and programs a robot to shoot Mack, yet Daisy being angry and locking him in a cell, after he literally tortured her and acted like a hydra agent, makes her a hardass unlikable bitch?? Mack, who got shot by a man he considered a friend, telling Fitz he’s fucked up, is the bad guy? Really? Mack and Daisy are the awful ones in that scenario, and not Fitz, the man who hurt them both and traumatized them? And it’s worse, because Fitz’ justification afterwards is “Daisy wouldn’t have agreed”. He didn’t even ask. And he continued to defend his actions, and tried to guilt trip her by bringing up past issues that weren’t actually comparable at all. 

Why are certain characters expected to be all understanding and forgiving, and expected to just accept those who hurt them with no hard feelings, and hated for not doing so? Why aren’t those characters allowed to have human reactions, but when the faves constantly hurt others, suddenly a character’s background and trauma can excuse it??? It’s so frustrating interacting with fandom like that. 

And it’s even worse when the characters that ARE capable of that level of understanding and forgiveness, are treated like the only good characters, even though usually the problematic favs that they forgive do nothing except continue to hurt them and are undeserving of that forgiveness.

Oh I'm definitely very excited for Red (TV) - I'm a Rep girl now but Red was previously my fav and a very important album in my life personally - and it's still insane that if her statement holds true, it'll be the 4th release from her in just under a year 😮! I always expected Red would release this fall (the ultimate autumn album, imo), I just expected 1989 would drop first (and still lowkey wouldn't be surprised if it did 🤡)

I was just so shocked and lowkey frustrated when the news dropped this morning bc very quickly into the Lover era I grew super exhausted by the theories/easter eggs and the simplicity of the Folkmore drops REALLY drove home that point for me so the circus of the re-records so far has been a tough pill for me to swallow 🤣. (Why was Wildest Dreams in that horse movie? Why all the 1989 easter eggs in interviews/pics? Why did she just release merch literally in 1989 colors that says 1989? Why is Red being announced 5 months in advance with no single? It all makes no sense 🤦🏻‍♀️😂🤔🤡⚰️)

That being said, I know the album is going to absolutely destroy me 😌 I think almost every song off it has been my favorite at one point or another but I always end up coming back to the trinity of Treacherous, I Almost Do and State of Grace 🥺 The vault is going to be insane 😧🥲

Emergency area heal- heal EVERYONE in a pretty big radius; enemy, friend, third party, everyone

That is probably lifelines new ult. She dropped so bad after gibbys last buff and with all the vaults and cargo bots her rather late carepackage is just not cutting it for a lot of people. I love that thing. If it'd just heal your team it would be soo op, but it heals all players in that diameter so you have to play a bit tactical. It's great

Emergency loot piñata - drop a bunch of random loot

I like it, it's pretty good loot. Probably for some future legend. Not my fav. But cool

Emergency dance party - get clones who mimic your movement but a bit off

That is going to be mirages new ult and you can't convince me otherwise! They can't bring in another legend with decoy-like-things! That would be so awsome for mirage! It's legit good! And so much fun!

First impression

...I’mma level with you, it’s almost impossible for me to recall quite what it was cuz all I can really think with any certainty is just “DAD!” probably something a little along the lines of “oh he a dilf” though.

Impression now

DAD!!!! The Ultimate Dad. The WoL has accumulated a few father-figures but he’s without a doubt (imo) the dad to stand above all others. Ahru didn’t have anyone like him in her life for a long, long time, and really she just wholly embraces it. That B99 meme? “Did you just call Count Edmont dad?” would end short cuz she’d just be like “Yeah, obviously.”

Favorite moment

His break-down after the Vault was absolutely heart-breaking, but that’s not really a favorite. Knowing that he was the one who penned this book chronicling our adventures in Ishgard was also such a nice touch. Then just about any time he’s come and reassured us that we have a home to go back to - that’s really where it’s at for me. That’s so, so important to Ahru it makes her heart grow ten times, every time (someone help her).

Idea for a story

Just nice family dinners? Ahru used to stop in at Dragonhead to relay tales of her latest journeys to Haurchefant quite often, and I imagine since he passed, she now returns to Fortemps Manor and does the same with Edmont instead. It warms me so much knowing this is part of what Haurchefant left her; a warm hearth, a family, a home.

Unpopular opinion

I don’t think this is an unpopular opinion but it’d be nice if he could find himself a nice... companion. :3c Someone to take nice little strolls about the Crozier with hand-in-hand... ah.

Favorite relationship

WoL, definitely! But I really, really love his relationship with Aymeric a lot too, and I hope one day we’ll get to see a bit more of it in some capacity or another. He likened Aymeric to another son, despairing that he didn’t want to lose another, and to a man whose real father was... well... Thordan, that must have meant so much and... SE, please. 

Favorite headcanon

Now I’m thinking about this companion of his. A widower, perhaps, who lost their husband some years back to Dravanians... Hm-hm-hmmmm...

First impression

“who’s this lil shit?” not quite but, essentially. He was cute and more interested in you than Artoirel, but of the two, Art was an instant hit with me so Emma, while endearing in his way, didn’t catch my attention quite as much. 

Impression now

He’s such a silly, bumbling lil son-boy and he’s come through some hard lessons. I love and support him and want to see him grow. I had actually predicted that he would be the one to take over at Camp Dragonhead and I was just... SO so happy they actually did that with him. 

Favorite moment

When Thancred decked him? Nah, again him taking over at Dragonhead was really nice and I’m so proud of him.

Idea for a story

Hm. Him and Ahru go out drinking and she proceeds to soundly drink him under the table, some shenanigans ensue, but end ultimately with her having to carry him back home over her shoulder.

Unpopular opinion

Less a character flaw but I’m just not a fan of that particular elezen face. I’ve seen a few people who’ve used it well! but for the most part it’s just. Not a fav (true of a lot of the ‘young’ faces honestly).

Favorite relationship

His and Honoroit’s back-and-forths are priceless every time, that boy needs a serious raise. 

Favorite headcanon

Kinda fits with the above, too. I like the idea that him and Haurchefant were on good terms especially when Emma was younger and more or less looked up to and idolized him in a way. Or was that actually canon?

Idea for a story: OOoof, uuuhh, Lilith DMing a Bunkers and Baddasses game would be super fun and interesting, maybe like for the BL2 Vault Hunters. She seems like the kind of DM with huge plotted out stories that fall apart immediately into a session.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t know a lot of unpopular opinions for her but She’s the strongest vault hunter there is and could beat Brick in any physical competition 100% with or without siren powers.

Favorite relationship: If we’re talking any kind of relationships, her friendship with Brick and Mordecai is so?? Cute??? But if it’s romantic then YOW cause there are so many good ones. Liarhawk (Lilith/Fiona) is the first that comes to mind though.

Favorite headcanon: She really, really likes Claptraps. She thinks they’re cute and funny and she liked to rescue them before they all got shut down. Great friends with Claptrap cause she’s the only one who actually enjoys his company.

1. Keith crossplays, so Lance has absolutely no idea that Keith is a boy.

2. Both of them are idiots, and can't seem to figure out that that hot cosplayer they like, is also that hot guy that they drool over every day at school.

SO CUTE. Fluffy pinning is just so cute ugh. Short and so sweet your teeth will rot. Be warned, you will be shouting “KISS!” For 90% of this fic.

Summary: Becoming “hook-up buddies” with Lance Sanchez was just supposed to be a small, insignificant fraction of Keith’s life. But of course, things don’t work out that way at all.

aka a Friends w/ Benefits AU that nobody asked for where Lance wears sleeveless hoodies, plays basketball in abandoned parking lots, and follows his dreams, and Keith comes from a high class, reputable family who never let him have any dreams of his own. They go home with each other and don't expect it to matter until it totally does.

Now the one I read claims to have full permission, but though this fic has been taken off ao3 it’s be re-uploaded on thing such as fan fiction.net. I can definitely see why this is a classic and the way the sibling dynamic is portrayed is so beautiful. They don’t fall in love in a day. It takes time! There’s so many characters but you never feel overwhelmed, and their personalities too... just ugh. It’s so beautiful and should be a book. I could gush about this all day.

This fic KILLED me. Actual tears were shed. It plays with your emotions so much, it’s so beautifully written. Why isn’t this more popular?

Every time Lance feels like confessing to Keith, he writes a letter with his feelings.

After four months of pent up feelings and a desk with over thirty letters scattered on it’s surface, he still hasn’t given any of them to Keith.

After being sent out on a mission on his own, he comes back to a significantly cleaner room.

“Welcome back Lance! ” Coran exclaims right next to his ear, making him jump. “Oh I saw all those letters you had addressed to Keith, saved you the trouble and gave them to him in your stead! You welcome!”
