Stawberry oatmeal before work.
I finished listening to an audio version of Oosterschelde, Windkracht 10 by Jan Terlouw, which I also read when I was younger. It's about the flood that hit The Netherlands in 1953 and killed almost 2000 people as well as the following debate over which measures should be taken to prevent such disasters going forward. I didnt remember the book being so upsetting the first time I read it. Better dikes have off course been builed and we're save now but I have been thinking about how long it will remain that way. When the ice caps melt and the sea levels rise it will become increasingly difficult/impossible to live under sealevel. It's weird to think the place I grew up might not exist anymore when I'm older.
(Off course, for me this is still a future problem whereas in (often less privileged) places climate change is already affecting daily live and living standards. It's just weird how people here are able to pretty much ignore climate change even though the personal consequences are so easy to imagine.)
