Is there anything you think Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Grumble have their differences on?

great question, honestly! besides their visual differences, they’re more or less the same character. how could we differentiate one grouchy old fart from another?

to be honest, its... pretty difficult, i wont lie, but heres just some of my general thoughts:

i feel mr grumble would generally be a bit more abrasive than mr grumpy. sure, mr grumpy is far from the kindest and most sociable man in dillydale, but at the very least, he tries to be polite. meanwhile, mr grumble is even easier to irritate, and would likely confront someone sooner than mr grumpy usually would.

mr grumble despises pigs and the idea of being one, mainly because of how he associates them with some less than savory experiences with wizards. because of this, i like to headcanon he's more active and athletic than someone like mr grumpy. not that mr grumpy has a fair bit of muscle on him, too, but considering he's regularly seen fishing or watching tv in his own place, i doubt he could beat mr grumble in a race.

this is all i can think of at the moment. there's not too much different about them, but i frankly dont mind! i think having characters that aren't all sunshine & rainbows can be good for potential stories that take place in dillydale!

also, here's something i typed out but didn't include in the main list because, well, it wasn't an actual difference between the two, but i wanted to include it here nonetheless, so here it is!

something interesting about the both of them is that they both have other characters that gravitate towards them, those two being mr tickle and mr bump. mr tickle is more adamant to learn mr grumpy's "secrets" (wanting him to admit he likes physical touch), mr bump's more superstitious about his inevitable bad luck and believes that mr grumble brings him good luck after being saved twice by him. this says more about the distinction between mr tickle & mr bump than it does the two grouches, but i just wanted to point that out because i thought it was interesting.
