Thinking about my main AU and Decoy/Thaum and how after everything is finally over and done and she's settled down and no longer needs to do undercover stuff or wear disguises she immediately goes to get tattoos, because anything permanent was obviously off the table before but now she's free
Strolls into the nearest studio at nearly 60 years of age and goes "Hey I want a giant octopus on my arm. I'll pay whatever"
And doesn't flinch or react even in the slightest when being worked on because she's put her body through so much weird and painful shit before a needle is like. Nothing

Project Eden's Garden Theories + Minor Analysis 🍎
Not a specific death order theory, just an excuse to yap because I'm hyperfixating
This is very long and it probably doesn't make sense.
🐍 Damon Maitsu- Ultimate Debater
Obviously everybody has the mastermind theory. It's the garden of eden and Satan was the snake. I do agree with the Satan analogy, but more so as an "outer" symbolism as opposed to an "inner" symbolism. Let me explain that better. I think that Damon will come of as antagonistic to the group because he says the right things in the wrong way. Like how he was trying to help everyone by telling them not to trust each other, but he was a dick about. Damon will play the Devil in the perception of the cast, but I don't believe that he will be actually behind the Killing Game.
🐦‍⬛ Eva Tsunaka - Ultimate Liar
I understand the first culprit theory. Eva is a similar name to Eve, Eve is the first human to sin, Eva is the first cast member to kill. That makes sense, but I see her taking on a more Kirigiri kind of role. Smart girl sort of side protag actively tries to hunt down the mastermind. However, since she's the Ultimate Liar and the cast already seems distrustful of her, I could see Eva discovering the secret to the killing game or the true mastermind but no body believes her which either leads to Eva killing the mastermind, or the mastermind killing/framing her. (Like Junko trying to frame Kirigiri in chapter five.)
🦈 Desmond Hall - Ultimate Marksman
I don't have much for Desmond. I feel like he'll either be a victim or a survivor. I can't see him as a culprit. At least not intentionally. I could see him trying to protect someone and killing their attacker in the process on accident, but I lean more towards a victim for him.
🦢 Eloise Taulner - Ultimate Fencer
I see Eloise as a survivor, but I lean towards a culprit. It's not a strong theory, but I see them trying to flip the shrinking violet trope on its head. In the chapter one preview from the San Antonio game expo we see Wolfgang trying to "help" Eloise by offering to walk with her before they go exploring and she seems to get annoyed with him. I could see this being a way to show that Eloise isn't a fragile as she let's on.
🦩 Toshiko Kayura - Ultimate Matchmaker
I want to believe that since she's literally a baby that she won't die, but part of me believes that since she's so young she will die. My current theory is that she's either the chapter one or two victim. I could definitely see the team choosing to kill her off early as a sort of "shock value" for the cast. Because I'm sure seeing a child get murdered would be more psychologically damaging then seeing an adult die. I'll be honest my Toshiko theory is kind of weak.
🐻 Wenona - Ultimate Entrepreneur
I see Wenona as a kind of Celeste character. The whole "if you do not adapt, you will die" mindset. I could see her staying distant from the group the majority if the time. I think that she will be a culprit, chapter three specifically. In the chapter on trailer we see during her free time event that the bear symbolism they gave her represents strategy. I feel like she'll have a really complex murder plot since she's obviously smart. She's also a Native American woman in the field of business. That's obviously not something easy. I highly doubt that she would give it up so easily. Plus, she's a billionaire. As much as I love Wenona, she's evil.
🦉 Ulysses Wilhelm - Ultimate Historian
Let me start by saying tat he is my favorite. Unfortunately, that means he's going to die. He writes everything in his notebook, if that doesn't sound like a major point of discussion in a trial, I don't know what does. I could also see him surviving, but I lean more towards a victim for him. The only reason I seem him surviving is that there could be this big moment in the final trial where they have to connect several seemingly unrelated notes in his notebook to find the big mystery or whatever. Anyway, I love him and if he dies I will lose it.
🐊 Mark "Mayhem" Berskii - Ultimate Music Producer
I can see Mark as a victim or a culprit and both of them revolve around Jett. As we see in the prologue, Mark is a very shy and reserved person. Obviously this paints a target on his back and any character who has a close friendship is another death flag. I could see him being killed and Jett falling into despair, or killing somebody with Jett.
💄Diana Venicia - Ultimate Cosmetologist
Diana is a character who I feel very strongly about as a survivor. It's not a strong theory, but it's just what feels right. Most people take the chameleon symbolism to be negative, but I don't see it as good or bad. I think it just emphasize that Diana is your average sixteen year old girl blending in with the crowd. She'd not a threat, she isn't aggressive, she just a teenaged girl. She is kind, she is helpful, she loves makeup. She just wants to love her life. She's so plain that she'll blend in and she will live.
🐑 Wolfgang Akire - Ultimate Lawyer
Oh boy, here we go. This is the big one. I believe that Wolfgang will either be a victim or a survivor. He will be the antagonist, but he is not a villain. Like I said for Damn who says the right thing in the wrong ways, Wolfgang will say the wrong thing is the right ways. I truly believe that Wolfgang has good intentions, but he is so optimistic and passionate that he lets his savior complex to bring everybody into a more vulnerable state. Like Damon's snake symbolism alluding to him bring the "devil" to the group, Wolfgang's sheep symbolism shows him as the "angel" to the group. The lamb of God, the Messiah, the guardian angel. He wants to save everybody, but he can't because he doesn't accept the horrible truth of the group's situation. He wants to believe that he can bring them to salvation, but a man can never be a God. My other theory is that he will be a final chapter sacrifice. A death is necessary for the group to escape and he will accept his new role of Martyrdom. Letting him finally become the savior he wanted to for the entire game.
🦋 Kai Monteago - Ultimate Influencer
Butterflies represent change, the butterfly effect. Kai will be the first culprit and this will lead to more fear without the group causing more people to want to kill. The flap of his wings will cause the tornado of death that will plague the group for the rest of the game. Short theory, but I feel strongly about it.
🐺 Jett Dawson - Ultimate Drag Racer
As I stated with Mark's theory, I see Jett as a culprit. Either Mark will be a victim and Jett will fall into despair driving him to murder in a later chapter, or he will kill somebody to escape with Mark. The only way this would work is a motive we're the backend can bring one person with them to the outside or they find a way for Jett and Mark to both equally be held accountable as the culprit. Though I'm not sure how something lijrme that could happen since the only instance is in SDRA2 chapter three and the plan behind that was bizarre (in a good way) and I doubt they could replicate anything similar.
🦁 Ingrid Grimwall - Ultimate Blacksmith
Ingrid is the only character I can't really think of anything for. I just have a strong feeling that she won't survive. Sorry.
🐲 Jean Delamer - Ultimate Ship Captain
I can see Jean as a chapter five victim. Since we see in the chapter one demo that he takes the hope speech guy role, I can see him dying fairly late in the game either as an "easy target" or since he's getting in the way of more murders happening.
🕷 Cassidy Amber - Ultimate Pro Gamer
I see Cassidy as a survivor, but I don't have any evidence. I just can't think of a theory for her as a victim, or as a culprit. She could also be the true mastermind, which is a fairly popular theory. That makes some sense considering her spider symbolism and the whole "tangled in a web" metaphor.
Thanks for reading!
Feel free to tell me any other theories you have!

At this point I feel like I'm just floating between two identities. Like what does it really matter what I decide to call myself? Says the desperate and jaded. I feel like I need to juggle my two different perspectives for a while. I will mostly use tumblr for it when I lean more gender critical, and probably use fb instead when I lean more towards trans thinking, until I figure this shit out for sure. Thus, I will keep being a dysphoric woman here on tumblr, and nonbinary on my fb account. That way I can juggle my two conflicting sides without feeling too much pressure to "just make sense already."
To clarify, my views are mainly gender critical, but it wouldn't be wrong to say that I'm still flirting with TRA views on gender, dysphoria and transition. Essentially, bio sex is the only actually scientifically proven and tangible thing about this all. Laws etc should be based on sex. Sexual attraction is based on sex. Then dysphoria is also a real medical condition, like it's an actual distress and I don't think it's solely caused by social factors. There are lots of different types of dysphoria, alright. As for gender, however... I don't believe in it, but... basically I just respect that other people have an inner sense of gender (like that's their interpretation of their feelings) while I'm still highly critical of WHY they have that interpretation. And I can’t fit myself into my old thinking of gender at all anymore. It is completely alien to me. The spell has broken and I cannot cast it again.
As for my dysphoria, basically what I'm dealing with is (a probably very rare kind of) atypical dysphoria. I like some aspects of female on my body, but not all. I like some aspects of male on my body, but not all. I feel like I should look like a hybrid of male and female, and I feel both belonging and disconnect to/from womanhood and manhood. It is a constant push and pull in both directions, uncomfortably kneading me into a serene middle-ground. That middle-ground is not a compromise; it is a very peaceful and harmonic place for me to be. It's where I'm relieved of my dysphoria. I used to avoid it my whole life, until I finally stopped fighting myself. There is tranquility here, at this inbetween, that I didn't know existed. I'm clearly dysphoric, but I am not FtM - I'm FtX. I do not give a single fuck if you think nonbinary is real or not. What I'm telling you now is: this is my dysphoria and it simply is what it is. Then what you wish to call it and what I wish to call it does not matter.
Anyhow. I just wanted to give that little debrief of my dysphoria so that you'd hopefully understand why I'm struggling so much with labels, because it's not so straight-forward. Another thing I very much want to clarify is that labels are means of communication for me - NOT identity. Just like I use the label lesbian to communicate what my sexual orientation is. That has a clear purpose. For the same reason we call ourselves men or women: it has a clear purpose. Then my question to myself, my oh so eternal question, is: what is the best label for me to communicate to others what I am and/or how I wish to be perceived?
Problem 1: What I wish to communicate (that I'm a bio female person who's happily transitioned) is not the same as what I wish to be seen as (person of indeterminate gender.)
I don't know how to feel about that what I'm mostly assumed to be a male who identifies as a woman. Do I feel bad, ashamed or guilty, for looking like a bad stereotype of trans women? Yes. I think I fear that I will come across as mocking trans women, because my looks are deliberate. I feel bad for copying gnc men. My affinity for feminine stuff like lipstick and dresses, and my absolute refusal to let go of those things, makes me feel guilty in a feminist sense. I don't believe that the way I use femininity is harmful for myself, because I've adapted it to fit my needs of comfort as well as my social goals with it. It is not sexual, it is not restraining or hindering. It is not adhering to societal standards of beauty - if anything it's mocking that.
Yes, I am mocking femininity, but I also use it because it makes me feel less naked, and more expressive. I'm always accompanying my femininity with strong masculine features such as deliberately visible facial hair and body hair, etc. My femininity is not my womanhood, but it is a highly important way for me to express my personality, symbolically. I do not want for people to oogle my naked body, or a careless sack of clothing that I've rushed into - I want for them to see my personality, so that they'll get an idea of who I am before talking to me. But despite all that... I still feel guilty for being genuinely feminine. How can I be authentic, if no matter where I turn, I feel guilt, shame, or fear?
Problem 2: As soon as I claim the nonbinary label I miss calling myself a woman, and as soon as I claim myself as a woman, I miss calling myself nonbinary.
Do I have a gender? Yes and no. It depends on how I look at it. Do I need to have a gender? Not really, but it's easier in most aspects of socialising if I do, because of my appearance. Do I want to have a gender? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
I feel like I went into the gender store and bought too many. Now I sit here with a useless pile of trash that cost a fortune. I am terrified to get rid of it. There will be consequences if I do. I've been building up to this moment for almost two years. I am still building up to it. The pile is stinking and I need to take it out to the garbage disposal, but I can't make myself do it. What if I'll need it later? I'm too nostalgic for my own good.
Problem 3: When I don't want to have a gender I'm a proud woman based on my sex, but when I do want a gender, nonbinary feels more right. I can't really make a gender in my brain and then stick to it. I keep picking it up, then tossing it away, then picking it up, then tossing it away, and so on. I want to have the gender cake and eat it at the same time. Sometimes I feel proud to be woman, who takes testosterone and loves her lesbian pussy. But then it gets increasingly uncomfortable and I'd just rather not be anything specific. Then I flip to view myself as a hybrid of man and woman and that feels comfortable and uplifting. Until it doesn't anymore and I miss taking pride in being a woman, and I just don't know what the fuck is up with that.
Perhaps my "identity" is split off from my dysphoria? I dunno what I meant with that thought. Perhaps it came from my lack of social dysphoria. It's just social anxiety over looking weird.
Oh I wish I could try living in a perfect society with no sexism, and see if I'd then always be comfortable with calling myself a woman and freely be this bearded, deep-voiced, charming lady in a gothy dress, wine red lipstick and a pearl necklace, with no need to beat myself up for not being "woman enough." Because I worry that is why I keep reaching for the nonbinary label. Maybe it is out of fear? Maybe the reason I feel good about calling myself nonbinary is rooted in just wanting to be left alone to be a beautifully virilized woman, because I'm never given the chance to be that kinda woman.
It breaks my heart. You know that? You should.
No matter how much testosterone I take and no matter how much I love the effects of it... I am forever female and I love that too. No way in this despicable hell... would I ever want my sex erased. It's profoundly important to me, and such is my transition. I think that is why I stand with one foot in self-loving and the other in the medical result of dysphoria. My body is a cocktail of this and that, a little bit tit for tat, and I revel in its strange combination of exquisite flavours.
I feel like I have transcended the concept of gender, but as a happily transitioned, dysphoric woman, I have a very hard time conveying that to the rest of my little world, and the world at large. What is a woman who is happily transitioned to a goal that falsely mimmics the visual effects of certain intersex and hormonal conditions? Who am I to glorify the visual results of others' suffering? Oh I dunno, but I probably have more respect for them than I do for myself, if that counts as an excuse.
What am I? And how do I move forward in society, as honestly as possible?
What I am... is in the eye of the beholder. Depending on your ideology, you will have a different opinion (boldly assuming that you'd even care at all) but what I think is... there is no one correct answer. Thus, in my desperate search for that one true answer, I cannot win. All I can do is pick whatever makes me the most comfortable, but the only thing that would soothe me is the ultimate truth. (No, that's not it. Keep scrambling.)
I have become a biologist obsessed with finding the truth of God with a microscope. No wonder people are beginning to question my sanity.
("Are you okay?" Uhm no, I don't think so.)
What I need to figure out, is if gender serves me, and if "woman" serves me. But they both do, and I have to make a choice. There I stand, finding that they both serve me, unable to make a choice.
(Somewhere around here, I started going off on a tangent and lost myself in the endless whirls of my heart and mind. So I rolled back the tape, and here I am again. The rest in an over-write.)
How do I see myself? I see myself both as a woman and as nonbinary. Sometimes I need my gender, sometimes I don't. What I am is still the same, but there are many different ways to label me correctly, and THAT is what chafes at me.
Problem 4: I do not want to have a politically charged label. Woman has become a political statement for me, because of my appearance contradicting that statement, and the statement contradicts my dysphoria. It being so politically charged makes me uncomfortable. I wish to just exist as a woman, not declare myself as one. Nonbinary is equally a political statement, of rejecting gender norms which are harmful to everyone. Nonbinary strips the bearer of their sex, and releases the pressure on them to conform. There is the catch. Woman, instead strips the bearer of the freedom to not conform, but releases the pressure of gender. And there I think I've hit the nail on the head. What I wish for... is a label which does not strip me of my sex, nor forces me into conformity to look like my sex. Woman should be that label, but the only way it can ever be... is to put on that armour and fight for it, which I don't want to.
The label woman is too heavy for me, as a male-passing female, to bear in this gender-obsessed world - while nonbinary feels like a betrayal, both to myself and all other women. Nonbinary feels like a happy fantasy, until it shatters upon my realisation that it is not real. Woman feels like the powerful authenticity from the bottom of my chromosomes, until reality hits that it's a very difficult label for me to wear. Then I run away scared into my happy fantasy, but I am tired of continuously shattering and rebuilding myself.
What I want is to fully embrace my womanhood, without running back to the trans community again and again, to cry about how cruel reality is, and please validate my special trans feelings, which of course... the zombies do. I feel like I have Stockholm Syndrome for the trans community. I feel hurt by its sexism and homophobia, which is aimed directly at me as a gender-breaking woman and as a female-exclusive lesbian, yet I keep running back to it, pleading for validation as the utter coward I am! Because I am terrified of being a woman and a lesbian in the real world... while looking like this. I love the way I look, but I am scared and I am ashamed of facing my reflection with pride, as a woman. Because that means something more. It doesn't "just" mean that I'm female, it also means that when I with pride call myself a woman... I am reclaiming the one thing which I ought not to. No one shames a trans man or dysphoric enby for wanting a beard and loving taking testosterone... but the second a "cis" woman does? You know that is different. Cis is a lie, but I am real. I'm a woman, and I love testosterone flowing through my veins. My true beliefs... lie with radfem, and I'm only "making space" for gender in those beliefs to not hurt my loved ones' feelings.
How am I supposed to handle and move beyond this? Will it ever get easier?
Problem 5: It's not the nonbinary bush I have been beating around... it's the radfem bush. I have not been honest about my sense of self, anywhere else than here on tumblr. I do not want a gender label on my feelings. Gender is so harmful and I need to stop being its martyr. Can I accept and respect other people for having genders? Sure, whatever, I don't particularly care what people choose to call their feelings, as long as laws aren't being built around those feelings. But I can't for the life of me stop squirming at the idea of ME having a gender again. It is uncomfortable. Get the fucking parasite off me! Gender has been poisoning me again lately. It was a mistake to look into it again. It has been clouding my vision, because I forgot what truly matters: To look like whichever gender expression I wish, to act out whichever gender role I want, to treat my dysphoria however I see fit for myself, but not to lie about what I am: female=woman.
Problem 6: I am free without gender, but I am also incredibly vulnerable. As if I was completely naked before the whole world. Then even wearing a clown suit feels better in comparison.
Solution: I need to break up with the trans community. That toxic relationship has been going on for way too long now. I don't care if I lose all of my friends over it. I need to break free, and liberate my womanhood, because I have been shackling her. No matter how hard it is. I need to face my fear, guilt and shame. I need to tell myself that it's okay to hurt, but that it will get better. I need to stop reaching for nonbinary whenever I feel scared and ashamed to be a woman. I can cry about how hard it is... but never give up.
My dysphoria does not define me, and I refuse to let it.

Fading Ink
A late entry for Lukanette September. This was due last week. Not beta’d but spellcheck didn’t have anything bad to say about it so??? Please enjoy.
Luka hadn’t expected the phone call from Maria or her request, but he got why she’d asked him to do it. He’d seen a local tattoo parlor that specialized in this kind of thing on his news feed a couple of days before, so he called for an appointment and was surprised when the owner herself offered to move some things around to accommodate his need. He was standing in front of the shop looking at the “Closed” sign and wondering if he’d gotten the time for the appointment wrong when a woman ran up to the door.
“Hey there,” she said as she moved the large paper bag in her hand to her opposite arm so that she could rummage in her purse. “Are you Luka? I’m Marinette. I think we spoke on the phone yesterday?”
Luka nodded as he watched her juggling coffee cup, paper bag and her purse. “Uh, can I help you with something?”
“Yes, thank you!” the coffee cup and paper bag were thrust into his open hands so that she had both of hers available to finally find her keys. “I keep meaning to put them on a hook or something so I can find them easier, but I tend to forget that until I’m standing in front of a customer being very unprofessional and making us even later than I was already running.”
She said all of this while unlocking the security grate and rolling it up, opening the front door and flipping on the lights. Luka chuckled and followed her into the shop. He watched as she locked the door behind him a little wary.
“I hope you don’t mind,” she said nodding at the door and ushered him past the front desk into the office. “Since it’s just the two of us here I don’t want anyone wandering in, not until I have Ivan at the front desk in any case.” She chuckled, “Something about seeing a highly tattooed rugby player wearing a death metal shirt just sort of discourages wanderers.”
He snickered at her statement but realized he needed to answer her question, “Uh, yeah. It’s fine.” Luka started looking around at the art on display on the walls and all over the office. “Wow, this is amazing,” he said pointing to a particularly intricate design at the front of a look book as he took a seat at the round table in the middle of the room.
The woman smiled and nodded. “You wouldn’t believe how much I had to practice that one before Tikki said I could put it out on display.”
“Who’s Tikki?” he asked, confused when the woman put the coffee cup and a napkin in front of him.
“My mentor and the former owner of the Lucky Ladybug,” she answered as she picked up a tea kettle and disappeared from the room.
Luka took the time she was gone to look through the design book. She was back after just a moment and had switched the kettle on.
“My staff prefers a variety of warm drinks,” she said as she waved toward a small area stocked with sugar, creamer, hot cocoa packets, stir sticks, and various brands of tea. “Not too many of us drink coffee so I brought that for you, but if you want sugar or cream you’ll have to add it yourself.” She got out her own mug and nabbed two tea packets before sitting at the desk in the corner. “Please feel free to ask if there’s something you might need. Or if you’d prefer tea, that’s also available.”
“What?” it took less than a second for his brain to realize what she’d said. “Oh, thanks.” He took the cup over to the counter and began mixing things to suit his taste. The lever on the kettle switched off while he was on his way back. By the time he sat down, Marinette had poured out her hot water and pulled out her sketchbook.
“As our special guest you get the first choice of the pastries,” she said as she pointed toward the plate she’d filled with a variety of morning breads.
“Oh that’s not necessary,” he said with a small smile.
“Oh, but it is,” she said as she continued to get out pencils and erasers and wake up the computer. “When I told maman and papa that I had a client dropping by my shop in the morning, it became very necessary for you to have a plethora to choose from. Please, grab one.” She looked at him archly. “You don’t want to break mama’s heart, do you? Make sure you pick a couple to take home with you, too.”
“This seems a little excessive,” he said as he put a warm cheese danish and a flaky croissant on the napkin in front of him.
Marinette chuckled. “It is a lot excessive, but Papa lives to feed people and Maman does what she can to help support our mission. So tell me Mr. Couffaine-”
“Luka, please.”
“Okay,” she smiled warmly at him. “So tell me Luka, what are you hoping to achieve here? Do you want to just modify or completely disguise the design? Did you want to connect it with others you have? Or do you want to have it covered with color that basically matches your own skin tones?”
“I hadn’t thought about it too much,” Luka said unable to look up at the artist. “Maria asked me to get rid of it because she didn’t want to have anything connecting me to her, but- I didn’t really think of the how.”
Marinette reached out and put a comforting hand on his forearm.
“That sounds like a really painful conversation to have.” He nodded and she continued, “Tell me Luka what does that tat mean to you?”
Luka took a deep breath. “Maria was my first real, my first serious relationship,” he confessed. “We were both young and we both knew that there was a chance that it wouldn’t last, but-” he broke off. He looked up into her eyes begging her to understand.
“But you wanted it work?” she asked quietly. "And you wanted something that would last as long as your love for her?"
He nodded.
“Do you regret getting that ink?”
He shook his head. “I don’t regret any of my ink, maybe some of my placement decisions,” he smiled as he tapped the side of his neck that had a small snake nestled there, “but not one drop of ink.” Took a deep breath and released it. “I learned a lot from Maria. I learned how nice it is to have a hand to hold, a heart beat to fall asleep to that isn’t your own, what love is and even what it isn’t. There was a lot I learned about the importance of actually communicating with each other openly and honestly. I learned what betrayal and heartbreak feel like. And I learned that I could survive all of that, even when I didn’t think I could.” He paused, “I don’t want to forget that even if she wants,” he took a deep steadying breath, “wants to forget me.”
“Those are all admirable lessons, no wonder you’d want to preserve them,” Marinette said quietly. “I’d suggest that we find something that has the same meaning for you, while erasing the design that stands for her.” She patted his arm and then sat back and picked up a pencil. “I’m very sure that we can help you through this.”
Luka took another deep breath and a small smile found a way to his lips. “Thank you.”
They spent the rest of the morning discussing possible images that had special meanings to Luka, his favorite designs among the various look books they had, and other choices that he would have to make. He showed her some of his other tattoos that were in the same area as Maria’s design, and Marinette took the time to note them and their placement on his arm and shoulder. The last thing that Marinette did before Luka had to leave was to trace the design to have the actual size and outlines to know how to design the covering tattoo as well as taking a couple of pictures to get a good idea of the colors involved.
They set up another morning meeting for him to go over potential designs and Luka hurried home clutching a few of the remaining pastries with a lighter heart then he’d had since he  answered Maria’s call.
After the second meeting, they spent the next two weeks texting back and forth as Marinette asked clarification about symbols and pictures Luka had chosen as meaningful and how he might want them combined. She also asked about his surrounding tattoos and their backstories. Luka asked about how she got into her profession and why her shop was so adamant about removing tattoos that people wanted erased. Once they had exhausted the topic of skin art they moved on to Luka’s music (he sent her a few links so she could listen) and Marinette’s role as permanent taste tester for her parent’s baking experiments (she promised him an opportunity to have the full Tom et Sabine guinea pig experience once he was back in town). They discovered that they had quite a few places around town that they both enjoyed going to and Luka was surprised that they hadn’t run into each other before this. Marinette listened as Luka told her everything about his time with Maria and she reciprocated with stories of her past partners. They talked about their heartbreaks and laughed over silly moments and clever memes.
Luka was surprised how quickly it felt like he’d met up with his best friend after a long separation, instead of someone who was practically a stranger. There were people he’d known for years that he didn’t feel as comfortable to be himself around as he did with Marinette.
By the end of the second week, she sent three possible designs for him to choose from. Luka was floored by what he saw. Each design was so different from the other, and yet he could tell that Maria’s tattoo would be well and truly erased, while the meaning would not. When he was still trying to choose over a week later, Marinette invited Luka to another early morning appointment to see if she could help him eliminate at least one of the designs.
Luka showed up carrying coffee for himself and tea for Marinette as well as a bag with breakfast sandwiches from his favorite bagelry. Marinette was frantically searching her bag for keys and Luka couldn’t help but laugh.
“I told you I’d pick up breakfast so you’d have time to beat me here,” he said when she whirled to look at him. He noticed the pink growing in her cheeks, but didn’t remark on it. “What happened?”
Marinette yawned before replying, “We had a group walk in about an hour before closing wanting to get matching tattoos. They were suspiciously sober and totally sincere.” She looked up with what looked like tears in the corners of her eyes. “One of their rugby teammates was in the last stages of an aggressive cancer. He’d been worried about his little girl growing up and not knowing who he was and what was important to him.” She stopped for a moment to collect herself. “One of them recorded the conversation and he’d listed several things,” she smiled weakly up at Luka as she pulled out keys and turned back to the security gate while continuing her story. “Later they realized his list contained as many items as there were teammates. The four who had visited him sent the video out to the rest of their team and asked for suggestions to put the guy’s fears to rest.” She got choked up as she flipped on lights and locked the door behind them. “They all decided to get a tattoo together. We came up with a very simple design: a rugby ball, one word from the list, and an infinity sign under it.” She grabbed a tissue to dab at her eyes, but continued to usher Luka into the office. “We only had two people that could do the actual inking.” She chuckled, “Ivan was so busy trying to get everyone prepped that I think he might actually skip his next practice because he can’t stand to see that ball again so soon.” Luka offered a smile as she continued to talk. “We just had to disinfect and reset because they’d already discussed placement and everything. They got all the guys from the team down here, too- including their coaches. They wanted to go by his house this morning to show off their idea.” She’d just switched in the computer when she looked at the table to see that Luka had set up a place for her to eat, she joined him at the table. “While they were getting their tats they talked about the guy. They talked about what he’d brought to their team, and what he’d taught them, and how much they were going to miss him.” She took a sip of her tea and sighed. “It was pretty emotional and it lasted long past closing time. But they were good guys. They ordered in pizza and we even found some cardstock so they made him a card to take by today, too.”
“It sounds exhausting,” Luka replied as he unwrapped his sandwich.
“It was.” Marinette reached for her sandwich, but decided to put her arms on the table and rest on them instead.
“We could’ve rescheduled,” Luka said. “I’m not an unreasonable ogre about this.”
“You’ve been a peach,” Marinette said through another yawn. “But I know that Maria has hounded you about not getting that taken care of yet.”
“You do?” Luka was surprised. He hadn’t mentioned it to anyone.
“Did you forget I follow your band on Insta?” she muttered. “There was some girl going off about you not doing the simplest thing she asked and then telling you you couldn’t have her design on your body for like-” she stopped to think “-twenty lines in all caps. I don’t know her personally, but I was pretty sure that was her.” She made herself more comfortable on her pillow of arms. “You deserve better treatment than that from someone you love.”
“Oh, you saw that?” Luka had blocked her and removed the comment as soon as he saw it pop up.
“Well, seeing as how she did it at least four times in thirty minutes that I know of,” she smiled through closed eyes at him, “Yeah. I saw it. It made me want to do two conflicting things.”
“Which were?”
“Redo the design bigger and better, but add neon and blacklight inks so that it shows up under any, and all, lighting conditions.”
Luka was sniggering at the suggestion. “And the other?”
“Put such a kickass design over her ink that she can’t ever claim to have that connection to you again.”
She said it with such warmth that Luka couldn’t help feeling a spark of happiness at her words. For the first time he was actually eager to have Maria’s tattoo paved over.
“I think we should go with that second idea,” he replied.
She sighed dramatically. “Well, you are the client so you do get to make that choice. But if you want to go the first route, I have some really excellent neons I’ve been dying to try out.”
They both chuckled, but were interrupted by the computer signaling it had finally booted up.
Marinette raised her head from the table, but hadn’t opened her eyes when Luka put a hand on her shoulder.
“You said you’d put the designs in an animation to show me what they’d actually look like on my arm, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Would it be okay for me to watch it while you grab a quick cat nap?”
“It’s a little more complicated than that,” Marinette said as she got up. “But I’ll show you how to switch between the three designs and you can take your time looking.” She sat at the computer and pulled up a couple of programs, then motioned for Luka to come over to the desk.
“This is the file where your designs are stored. You just have to open it up and click on either the LC 1, LC 2, or LC5 to get the designs I showed you. This program,” she pointed to the one showing what looked like a generic 3D model of a human with a photograph of his arm superimposed on it in the display, “knows how to take the design from the file and put it in the right place and orientation. We can manipulate it later to get it just right, but you can turn the model and the arm to get a better idea of how it will look to you and to the people around you.”
She quickly demonstrated by clicking on LC 1 and the first design was up and covering Maria’s tattoo.
“That’s pretty cool,” Luka remarked watching intently.
“This layer isn’t opaque, so you actually get a pretty good idea of what this will look like in real life. I know you were worried about how bright that green was but if you look at it now-”
“It’s exactly the shade I was describing to you,” Luka said with a little awe.
“See? I told you I knew what I was doing.”
“I never doubted for a minute.”
“You doubted the green for two days,” she reminded him.
“Well that’s not exactly a minute,” he said in his defense.
“True.” She couldn’t help another yawn. “I’m going to go drink my tea and eat the lovely breakfast someone so thoughtfully brought to see if I can wake up some. You can join me or play with this-”
The words had barely left her lips and Luka was reaching out to grab the mouse to click on the next design.
“Well that answers that question,” she said with a smile and exchanged places with him.
She showed him how to turn the arm and the model then sat at the table with her tea. She tried not to stare while he clicked and hummed at the different designs. But she stole a glance as often as she could.
She thought over what her job meant to people as she ate. Those guys last night were memorializing a fallen comrade. Luka was removing the last piece of a hurtful relationship. So many others had come to redeem painful mistakes from their past, or embed lost children forever into their hearts. Countless women had received freedom from abusive spouses or pimps through her work, those ones were always done for free. Good times, heartbreaks, family and friends lost and often ones found were all etched into the people that came through her doors. It was a privilege to be a part of so many people’s stories.
She became aware that Luka had stopped clicking and stood up to see what he’d chosen.
“I want this one,” he said as she drew nearer.
Marinette stopped in her tracks. “But that’s not even- I mean it’s not a final- How did you even get to that?”
Luka pointed to the file where his designs were stored. “I wanted to see what these LCS designs were.” He grinned at her. “Imagine my delight when I saw that you’d done sleeves to incorporate my new design with my old ink, too.”
“I was just doodling that stuff.” Marinette was still recovering from seeing his delight at the warm up practices she did. “It was like doing random drawing prompts or those cooking shows where you get five ingredients and have to make a meal. It wasn’t like a serious design choice.”
“Why not? This one is perfect! I has my music, my family, some of my other art interests and even a really rad snake that looks like it should be on my next record album. This is so my life tied together in a beautiful picture” He looked up at her. “This is totally what I’d want to see every day when I wake up. Please, tell me we can do it.”
Marinette nodded. “It will take several visits just for the line work,” she pointed out.
“I can make time for that,” he said with a grin.
“Only the part that covers the old tat will be at the low price I told you. Some of this will be a lot more expensive.”
“Okay. That’s fine by me but I only want you to do it. No one else from the shop.”
“But my apprentices can do the fill for so much cheaper-” she began.
“No, Marinette. I only want Maria’s tattoo covered by ink from the hands that took the time to find out who I am and what I need to be happy. I want it not only covered but I want the area around it filled with the music and love that you bring out of me.” He reached up and took her hand. “We can do that, can’t we?”
She stared deeply into his eyes and found nothing but love and admiration in them.
“When do you want to start?” she asked.
He broke into a grin. “How about now?”
“We have to wait for Ivan to get here, and I have to look at my schedule, but I think I can work you in.”
Luka let out a whoop and sprang up to be pulled into a tight embrace. He was leaning down to give her a kiss when she put a finger across his lips, halting him.
“No dating till after it’s finished,” she said. “Nothing good ever comes from kissing your clients.”
He laughed and pulled her in for another hug.
“Okay, but when it’s done I’m taking you out. Okay?”
She nodded. “Okay.” She took a step back from his arms and waved at the table where their half finished breakfast waited. “I can zap these for a minute and we can finish our food while we wait.”
In a couple of minutes they were sitting at the table and Marinette looked at Luka.
“I still say the expense is going to be pretty high for a struggling musician.”
Luka smirked at her. “M I regularly tour with Jagged Stone. I can afford to have you on retainer for the rest of our lives. I’m only struggling because I’m fronting my own band, with Jagged’s backing, and I’m not used to being the one everyone knows.”
The amazed look on the woman’s face made Luka laugh. Luka’s laugh made Marinette laugh. Marinette’s laugh made Luka laugh harder.
Ivan was greeted by the sound of laughter when he turned the key in the front door’s lock. He smiled to himself. It was going to be a great day.

A Waning Moon Ritual
Tumblr media
My period has started to line up with the moon cycles, and this was a highly elusive ritual to do.  I have a twofold purpose with this post: 1. to have people roast my ritual and tell me all the things I’m possibly doing wrong, and 2. to show off the shit I’m trying to sell. I’m including descriptions with three categories. Not for sale, sale with a price, and “I’ll part with it if you make an offer I can’t turn down.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay. I’m moving across the country at the end of the month and this was a very important spell. We need funds, health, transport, safety. In the above picture I’ve got these materials: aquarium gravel, salt, olive oil, flour, and purified water, 13 crystal glasses (for sale at best offer plus cost of shipping), frankincense sticks, honey scented yellow tea candles, sage sticks, four tools of power - a pentagram disk, a wand, an athame, and a chalice. (Chalice is for sale, knife and disk are not). Incense burner, several white taper candles, china saucers. The saucers are part of a dish set, they have matching plates and bowls, will sell to top bidder or sell locally to avoid shipping.
Tumblr media
This is my baby of a project. Hundreds of hours went into its construction, study, planning, and design.
Tumblr media
I don’t have an appropriate name for it. Circle? Talisman? A bit of both? Anyway. I hand-sewed the square piece of white cloth (you can faintly see the seam on the right side of the above picture), and painted a double circle, freehanded. The outer circle measures 6′ and the inner one 5′.
Tumblr media
North side. Symbol of Yggdrasil, the Norse tree of life, is atop the circle. Just down and to the right of her, the Japanese character for Earth marks the spot for the top point of the 9-pointed star.
Tumblr media
To the East, written in Sanskrit, Om Tat Sat, that is, “Supreme and Absolute Truth. Below it is the Japanese character for air, and in the northeast corner, the Japanese character for Sun.
Tumblr media
Lower eastern corner of the circle: in the south is the Sumerian symbol for divine light, pronounced simply “Melam.” The Japanese character for dark is in the southeast, and to the left of the south point slightly is the symbol for fire.
Tumblr media
Finally, the west. In the south is the character for Aether in Japanese, in the southwest is the character for Light, and the direct west displays the Osage spider. Just above it, the Japanese character for water is marked. (All the Japanese characters are in dark blue, the four direction symbols are in black, and the Osage spider has a red center.
Tumblr media
Finally, back to north. The ninth Japanese character, in the northwest, is the moon symbol.
Tumblr media
I use duct tape to make my stars. 9 points for full moon, 6 points for new moon, various other points for different planets. This is my fourth time doing a full moon ritual, I began at the beginning of the trifecta on December 3rd, 2017. The tape gives my circle some versatility to be reused for future rituals, and it also makes drawing straight lines waaaaay easier.
Tumblr media
Shit. I ran out of tape when I had ONE STAR POINT LEFT
Tumblr media
Let’s hope I’m understood and I haven’t inadvertently started summoning demons. Begone ill spirits, I just fucking saged in here.
Tumblr media
My offering to the east: a handful of flour for health and nutrition, frankincense, a white candle (standing in aquarium rocks in a glass), and a yellow candle. The athame is also in the east.
Tumblr media
My offering to the south: oil and a white candle. The wand is here. A yellow candle is at every star point.
Tumblr media
My offering to the west is a white candle, with fresh purified water in the chalice.
Tumblr media
I offer salt to the North, on the disk, which also has a white candle on it.
Tumblr media
I bring my tea and Grimoire into the circle with me. I write and reflect and absorb.
Tumblr media
The final view after I’ve closed the circle and extinguished the candles.
Tumblr media
Books: the two on the left are for sale, the book on the right is not.
So yeah! Just drop me a message if interested :)

Summary
When you no longer want a tattoo, you will choose between tattoo removal machine and creams. Laser removal is effective, but relatively painful and costly. Creams are great, but a number of them have been reported to cause side effects. When choosing cream, therefore, ensure it is not acid based, and it does not contain TCA. With a good cream, you may not need to spend thousands. There is no much difference in the duration of removal between creams and lasers. Like tattoo removal pictures will show you, each method can fade away the tattoo significantly.

101 Tattoo Styles
Tattoo Styles
Tattoo styles and meanings exploded in the past century, although even before then, hundreds of tattoo styles existed. For your personal tattoo, the style you choose needs to match your personality and aesthetic. Because of this, I talk all about the major tattoo styles you find in today’s tattoo shops. Along with that, I go a little bit into the history of some of them. Check them out and decide which tattoo styles work best for you!
 Traditional Tattoo Styles
As a type of body modification practiced for millennia, many traditions surround the interesting art. I list the three main traditional tattoos styles that appear in modern tattooing, although certainly hundreds more traditional tattoo styles exist. To learn more about the traditions of tattoos, check out the history behind them!
Must Read: Tattoo Aftercare Guide
 Traditional American Tattoos
While most traditional tattoo styles represent ancient practices, traditional American tattoos refer to a brief period in time where tattoos experienced a burst in popularity. With the invention of the tattoo machine, artists inked more tattoos than ever, and the clients lined up out the doors. Sailors wore them as souvenirs and marks of honor, while others wore them to show their patriotism. Sailor Jerry created a unique style blending Western and Eastern tattoo styles, and his style defined the period. Today, Sailor Jerry tattoos represent the traditional American tattoo style perfectly.

Traditional Japanese Tattoos
Long associated with samurai—and shortly after the Yakuza—traditional Japanese tattoos appear on people of all walks of life. Every single technique and step of Japanese tattooing carries its own name. For example, ‘Irezumi’ refers to tattooing as a whole, but ‘Sujibori’ represents the outline of the tattoo that goes on before any other types of color. Oftentimes, people only receive these outlines! On top of that, the common subject matters of Japanese tattoos (such as koi fish, samurai, dragons, kirin, Baku, tigers, snakes, and so on) all represent something unique…and their meaning changes depending on their position in the art!

 Traditional Hawaiian Tattoos
Often referred to as ‘tribal tattoos,’ along with a few other cultures’ traditional tattoos from around the world, Hawaiian tattoos actually distinguish themselves from styles around the world. For one, rather than depicting obvious characters, these tattoos combine symbols and weave a story. Parts of a tiki face sneak their way into the intricate design, rows of triangles representing shark teeth snake around the arm, and a circular pattern hints at the shape of a turtle. Each one provides certain wards, protections, abilities, or grants the user a certain prestige. Traditionally, artists decide the design, rather than the person who asks for a tattoo!

Modern Tattoo Styles
A modern illustrative tattoo uses many more techniques and pigments than traditional tattoos. Previously, only one black ink and three pigments made up your color options for tattooing (unless you used some strange material, such as tree ash). Now, any number of pigments exists for us to choose from. On top of that, tattoo guns help new tattoo styles explore some amazing geometry and line work.
Neo-Japanese Tattoo
Despite its name, this tattoo style appears in all sorts of countries around the globe. Traditional Japanese tattoos rarely use gradients and stick to crisp outlines and pigment fills. Neo-Japanese tattoos, on the other hand, work in the gray scale for black and white tattoos, and throw in lots of new coloring techniques. Although the subject matter remains the same as traditional Japanese tattoos, the style of the tattoo ranges anywhere from realistic to illustrative, with far more detail put into color. Rather than blocky backgrounds for the tattoos, a fully rendered scenery ties everything together.

Neo-Traditional Tattoo
One of my favorite types of tattoos, this one blends the classic techniques of American traditional tattoos (also called Sailor Jerry tattoos) with the range of pigments available today. Along with that, the subject matter and style of illustration changes dramatically. The basic rules of a Neo-traditional tattoo seem to include: Limit your palette, make heavy use of black line art, and utilize classic shading techniques. More than anything else, the low number of pigments ties things together—even if, classically, the pigments didn’t exist!

New School
Despite its name, ‘new school’ represents the pinnacle of animated cartoons in the 80s and 90s. A comic book style seeped into the world of tattoo art and inspired thousands of vivid and toonie tats. Artists explored a huge range of new pigments available to them. Today, new school tattoo style works best for caricatures, cartoon scenes, comic characters, and similar subjects. Many artists know the style, so finding an artist to ink new school tattoos proves no challenge.

 Tattoo Realism
As artists flock to the realm of tattooing, the quality of tattoos grows exponentially better. Combine this with the huge amount of tools available to modern artists, and you receive the potential for realistic tattoos! Although they cost a pretty penny, these designs withstand the test of time and prove mesmerizing to look at. With 3D tattoos, in particular, some artists fool viewers into thinking the tattoo is real! I advise anyone to consider their artists with caution when seeking a realistic tattoo, especially in the case of portraits. See their portfolio and require a sketched preview. Of course, the preview might cost a little extra, but it pays off, in the end, to ensure you receive the best possible tattoo!

Watercolor Tattoos
Recently, the trend of watercolor tattoos really picked up. People avoided them for a while due to their tendency to fade and blur, but as touchups and cleanups become more affordable, this beautiful tattoo style looks even more attractive! On top of that, good artists use a combination of black ink shading with highly contrasting colors to ensure that—even when colors start to fade—the tattoo looks great.
