It always makes me sad when you click on a story to read a pairing, and you can tell the author really loves one character and understands them and does an amazing job with them- but they just hate the other character in the pairing.

And it comes across in how they behave or how they act toward the favorite character or in groveling apologies etc. , or the character is clearly not good enough for the favorite in their eyes. and then suddenly they are sharing I love yous and screwing. There just no weight to the relationship or believability because the hate for the other character bleeds through. But the author writes it because that’s the pairing that gets the most clicks or that’s the character the beloved character really likes and the author doesn’t really agree.

Like why write a fic about character A/character B if you *hate* B so much it comes through in your writing. Just cuz it’s the one that gets eyeballs on the story?
