me within the first chapter of the thrawn audiobook hearing a canon southern accent, immediately pulling up tristan's sw verse details to make adjustments : oh FUCK yes.
#appalachian adjacent accent here we come#which btw is another very strange thing for tristan (and will differ in meaning between canon and sw)#bc so much of tristan's trauma (much of which is fairly subconscious)#comes from the violence of being ripped from a background/culture he never had the chance to know#and he doesn't fully realize how damaging that is or how he looks for a sense of belonging everywhere he can without really realizing it#and in fact fully denying it#the southern accent in his canon is almost a relic of that trauma bc it was in fact imposed on him despite urdu being his first language#vs. in sw verses where it's one of the only remnant he retains from his parents who were (usually) corellian fringers#anyway gonna buzz buzz buzz
