What I love about the Marvin Israel 1956 photos is how they capture what the mainstream adult world must have thought about him at the time: dark, foreboding, dangerous hoodlum ready to break innocent hearts and *enjoy* doing it.
And then, out of nowhere this slightly stunned, overwhelmed kid appears.
