Moon liked his job as a butler.
Some would think otherwise given the way that he is treated, but that was false. The way Sir Billiam spoke and acted was notably different between public and private. Lashes would actually mean stern conversations, weeks without food would mean a mild slap of the wrist etc. Moon had realised that his master did this for appearances, the way he was treated appeared to be the same as how the other rich people treat their 'help', so his master simply did the same.
Sir Billiam also appeared to be rather... inept when it came to emotions. He snapped at his butler to not make eye contact even when he didn't initiate it because he knew it made him uncomfortable. He pointedly ignored it when his butler would nab a few gold bars from their guests. Sometimes, after long days, he will find a roll of bandages next to his bed in the small room in the mansion he slept in. When Moon did what was deemed a good job he sort of just... stared at him for a while before snapping his head away and briskly walking off. Moon was aware that his master seemed to think he didn't notice, so he acted as if that is true.
Sir Billiam was also the one who taught Moon how to read. The first time he asked, a few years younger and even more shy, his master looked at him like what he was asking was ridiculous. Then Moon would casually bring it up again, at least a week later, and he would get a similar response. This carried on for a few months until Sir Billiam caved.
One day Moon was summoned to the library, alone, and he was wholly terrified. Despite the fact that none of the staff was ever truly beaten their master was a terrifying man in presence alone. When Moon had arrived he was instructed to lock the door and sit at a table, both of which he did with shaking hands. Once both tasks were completed the two sat in tense silence for a long moment before a book that had been open on the table was turned and pushed towards Moon. He was of course puzzled, given that he had no idea what the book said, and looked up at his master in confusion. The older man let out a tired sigh and stated that 'If you really don't want to learn just leave'. Moon was stunned for a moment before giving a bright smile and shaking his head, saying that he really wanted to learn and that he will try his hardest! In his excitement Moon didn't hear the amused, almost fond, sigh given by his master.
Moon liked to believe he was close to their master, given that he had been his personal butler for a long time. Because of this, along with the fact that the mansion was quite the pleasant place to live, he continued to stay even after the number of staff started to dwindle. Some would run away whilst others just quit. It got to a point that only himself and Hubert, a fellow butler, remained. The two grew close in the emptiness of the mansion, almost like brothers.
Which is why Moon was so distraught when he couldn't find his friend.
He brought it up with Sir Billium and was met with a slightly strained expression before the man turned away and said that, unfortunately, Hubert had run away. Moon felt a strange guilt that he couldn't quite explain, as if he were at fault for the absence of his coworker, but he stood tall. Moon resolutely stated that he would stay alongside Sir Billiam for as long as he lived and the man, for the first time, cracked a small smile. It was near invisible but Moon was sure that it was there.
And then a hand reached up to ruffle his hair. It was a soft action, in part due to the fact that Moon had a few inches on his master, but it left the butler frozen. Sir Billiam quickly retracted his hand, muttering out a quiet 'that's good' before turning on his heel and walking out the door. Moon stood in the same spot for a long time before breaking out in a fit of happy giggles; smiling so much it hurt.
///
Billiam walked down the empty halls of his mansion, silently cursing the thrumming in his head that told him that the egg was hungry. He grieved the loss of his staff, annoying as they could be he found it cruel that they had to be subjected to such horrid ends. He hadn't killed a single one of them himself. Instead, he would bring them (sometimes unconscious, sometimes not) to the egg itself and let it slowly consume their bodies. He could tell from the screams that the process was agonising, but he couldn't bring himself to do the deed himself.
And then Billiam heard a scream of pain.
His slow walk quickly evolved into a run and he continued down the hall he heard the noise come from. There was only two other people in the mansion with him, so he could only assume that someone had broken in and in some way harmed one of his butlers. He turned a corner into one of the bedrooms and readied himself to see one of his men harmed, another apprehending the intruder.
What Billiam was instead met with was Hubert's bloodied, lifeless body stabbed through the torso by a netherite blade (where had that thing even come from?) - the figure of Moon looming over it, hands gripped tightly around the handle of the sword. The younger was panting heavily, splattered blood staining his face and clothes (there was so much blood, what was there so much blood?).
Slowly, Moon raised his head and Billiam was met with, instead of soft grey, bright red eyes. He looked maddened, entirely out of his right mind and exhausted, quickly collapsing onto the dead body.

Ranboo seriously thinks he needs to pay rent. I bet that for a while Techno'll accept whatever he's given because he can't help but feel happy about it until he starts to feel bad for taking the poor kid's stuff. One day Ranboo comes into his house with some netherite or something and Techno has to physically stop him from giving him even more expensive things and the ender-hybrid is confused. Techno asks why he keeps giving stuff and he responds that it's his rent? If he doesn't he'll get kicked out right? The piglin-hybrid sighs and explains that Ranboo doesn't have to do that anymore, he's paid more than enough. There's silence for a moment before Ranboo lets out a startled chuckle, then gives a blinding smile and thanks him before leaving back to his shack.
Needless to say the voices bullied him for having a soft spot the rest of the day.

Sleepwalking Ranboo but he's not possibly committing war crimes and is instead what culminates to a tall dog or cat.
In his unconscious state Ranboo doesn't retain any of his fears or anything other than his instincts as an enderman. Endermen also have an extreme pack mentality, where they attach themselves to those they're close to and protect them with their lives.
I propose Ranboo just adamantly following Techno and Phil around. At first it's at a distance, because even like that he feels the need to give space. At some point Phil and Techno decide to ask about it but sleepwalk Ranboo can't speak outside of ender so he just chirps and vworps a lot until the two men get the vague idea that whatever he's doing isn't bad, and he seems happy. They both concede and let Ranboo walk closer in his observations because it's a little weird to stalk your neighbours and they'll constantly be on edge if he's so far.
So sleepwalk Ranboo is really happy about this and proceeds to follow them around whenever he can and he's basically the same but without the talking and he chirps a lot (Techno's secretly a little disappointed that he can't joke with Ranboo like this).
Ranboo Ranboo isn't aware of any of this and tries not to question why the other two seem more comfortable with him every day, even when he doesn't speak to them. (Eventually he's told and gets really embarrassed).

Ranboo making the replacement for the Axe of Peace.
As much as he'd rather leave it entirely a surprise, he needed to know the enchantments on it; so he went to Phil and very shyly asked. Phil, of course, was more than happy to tell him and even help him out but Ranboo asked to do it himself. He also asked that Phil doesn't tell Techno about any of this and the older man easily complied; chuckling a little.
Most of Ranboo's time was spent getting levels and trying to avoid using Techno's own books for his gift and eventually the axe was complete. He had even made it a little better, thinking of some enchantments that would be useful for such a weapon. Then, the fact that he had to name it dawned on him but he shook his head and decided to leave it to Techno; it could be part of his gift, being able to name it.
Techno comes home one day from tending the dogs to a new chest in the middle of his house and a chucking Philza - Ranboo nowhere to be seen. Despite his confusion Techno slowly walked up the the chest and, since Phil seemed to know what was in it, opened it. What he found that a new, shining axe and a note. The note read:
'Hello Techno! I've noticed that you've let me stay around here without much payment so I figured I'd give you a gift! It's a replica of the Axe of Peace with a few extra enchantments since I know you probably lost it. I didn't name it since I figured you'd probably want to name it yourself so... yeah. Enjoy!
- Ranboo
Techno stared at the note for a long moment before picking the axe up. It was light and easy to move, but it obviously packed a punch. Axes weren't even his regular weapon of choice. Techno paused for a long, silent moment before walking over to the anvil and naming it. It took him a moment before he finished the process, but he had a small smile on his face as he stared at the weapon.
Axe of Peace R.

Piglin and Endermen are surprisingly similar creatures.
They both enjoy giving gifts. In ender culture it is common for an enderman to see a block another would like and simply take it, the species finding comfort in holding something (Ranboo stares at the items in his hands, a cluster of flowers. He recalls staring at one when he was travelling with Techno to gather materials and next thing he knows there is a chest full of said flowers in his shack, no note.) .
For piglins they obviously have their adoration for gold, but they also find happiness in armour and weaponry. As a species formed around combat one of the best gifts you could give would he something to help another survive. (Techno grasps at the handle of his new axe. Saying he had been surprised when the ender-hybrid had given it to him would be an understatement. He couldn't help but smile as he ran his fingers over the enchantments carefully carved into weapon, filled with gold to give it a shine.)
Both also have a deep sense of comradery. They care deeply for others in their species and will hunt down any who dare hurt their kin.
(Techno sees red as he stares at the shaking form of Ranboo next to him. Dream had come to visit and discuss his plans, only to spot an oblivious Ranboo from the window. When asked why he was here, Techno simply explained that Phil had let him stay since he had no home, and whilst he nodded in affirmation the masked man didn't stop staring at the window. Eventually, Dream suddenly stood up from where he sat at Techno's table and left the house, making a bee-line for the ender-hybrid. The kid had already looked worse for ware, constantly on edge and weary, but when he heard Dream call his name Ranboo violently flinched. His head had snapped around to the shorter man and he stared wide eyed, fearful. They spoke for a while, Techno having slowly made his way over to the tallest and he was staring to get worried. Chat had been screaming ever since Dream showed up, but he was having a hard time focusing with how bad it was getting. They all screamed danger and obviously seemed to fear for Ranboo. Dream then looked down, at a specific spot in the ground and the kid started to panic even more, shrinking away from the other man and Techno just had to step in. He told the other man that he'd been here for long enough and he just stared for a long moment. With a smile in his voice, Dream sighed and agreed, waving and saying he'll be back at some point; eyes lingering on Ranboo for a little longer before leaving. The taller kid let out a shaky exhale one he left looked as if he was about to collapse. With the triumphant cheers of chat in his ears Techno offered the kid stay in his house for a bit and whilst he hesitated for a long moment, Ranboo quietly agreed.)
