you can use a colon to mean "and here's an example of/elaboration on what i was just talking about", but if you do that more than once in a single sentence i'm going to be side-eyeing you. maybe at that point you need a new and exciting punctuation mark that some are calling the "full stop" or "period". you don't even have to pay to use it or anything, it's totally free! try it out sometime, you might like it :)
