The Maze Runner : Fever Code - SPOILERS!!

I just read page 274 and 275 the end of chapter 53 where Thomas thinks about after they finish the Maze Trails they will have the cure and He, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby, Chuck, Aris and Rachel living in the same neighbourhood talking to their children about how they all saved the world and Minho doing impressions of being a runner. That too me is ONE OF THE MOST DEPRESSING THINGS JAMES DASHNER WROTE IN THE SERIES, LET ALONE THIS GOD DAMN BOOK!! Three out of eight survived at the end of the series FUCKING THREE OUT OF FUCKING EIGHT AND THEY WERE ALL KIDS, I AM SOBBING. I also read Newt's suicide attempt and that SAD AF. HE SCREAMS I HATE YOU AND THEN CRAWLS INTO A BALL AND STARTS SOBBING. WTF!!!! I HATE you James Dashner but I LOVE as well. I AM SO GOD DAMN CONFUSED This series of books are possibly the best and worst thing that happened.

 A searing pain bloomed from your head down through your body before the memories hit, but unlike last time where you had seen a younger version of everyone, this memory felt like it had happened a bit more recently, like before you had left for the maze. Everyone was a bit younger, but the difference wasn't as obvious as it had been previously were you had seen Newt and Thomas as four or five year olds. Newt was twelve or thirteen in this one and you sat petrified in a corner watching as Newt and Lincoln yelled at each other. 

 "Back off Newty." Lincoln spat. 

 "I could say the same of you, you no good filthy rat!" Newt shouted back. 

 Your eyes widened at the insults being slung back and forth between the two. This wasn't the Newt and Lincoln you had knew, at least thought you knew. You tried to move back and shove yourself into the corner more. You hated how helpless you felt at the moment but that feeling was almost diminished by the fear that shot through you when Newt turned to you. 

 "Y/n! Get over here!" 

 Grimacing, though you knew that you couldn't stop this, it was a memory. Your body moved slowly as you timidly scooted over to where the two boys where. Taking a gulp you quietly stood a little back from the middle of them. 

 "So y/n," Newt had a cruel smirk on his lips that felt so foreign on his familiar face. "Which one of us is it then?" 

"I don't know." You mumbled to the ground.  

"I said which one!" Newt yelled. 

 You flinched back, so many mixed emotions flitted through your head, a little voice, the one you knew now yelled that this wasn't the real Newt but the younger, timid voice whispered that this was the Newt you had known. Your mouth opened to speak but closed again, like a puffer fish, wasn't that what Newt had told you when the two of you joked around gardening? But he meant it in a joking way, he had to have. However when this Newt yelled it you felt the tears start to well up. 

 "You know y/n, when you do that you look like an ugly puffer fish. I bet a fly's going to fly into your mouth one day." Newt mocked.

 You wanted to scream at him, tell him shut up but before you could speak Lincoln snapped back at him. 

"Why don't you leave her alone and face me you coward? Or are you cared you'll get your butt beat up? It's not like you have a chance against me, you're thirteen, I'm fifteen." 

 You could feel yourself slowly moving over to Lincoln's side. Newt ignored Lincoln's tempting and sneered. 

 "So you pick him, don't you?" 

 Without being able to process what was happening you saw Newt swing his fist and felt the pain of it landing against your cheek. You stumbled, tears blurring up your vision but you saw Lincoln knock Newt down and start beating him before two adults came into the room and pulled Lincoln off of Newt and take you to the hospital wing. After that your vision started to blurrier and you started to come back to consciousness. 

 A/n: So I found this thing about what if Newt was an abusive boyfriend before the maze but then the maze changed him, memories, etc, etc, and I thought, what an interesting plot to base this off so I made this. Pleasedon'thateme.

Chapter 4

Finally coming to your senses you looked around at where you were held. With a shock you realized it was the exact same place you had first come to when the Gladers had been, ‘rescued’. This is where you had gotten your memory back, well some of your memories. That was not a pleasant experience, the fact that you had been tied down to the metal table and a syringe had been used to inject something into your head made it even worse. This was exactly the same, you were strapped to the metal table and as groggy as you were you could make out a few syringes on the counter next to you, all of them filled with a crystal clear liquid. A tall woman wearing all white walked in.

 “I usually would have someone else do this but Lincoln made a request and I do owe him a favor.” The woman sighed. 

“Chancellor,” you mumbled, “what’s, what’s going on?” You struggled a bit in the restraints. 

“Well isn’t it obvious?” Chancellor Paige snapped on some latex gloves and picked up the syringe closest to her. “I’m restoring a couple of your memories, maybe this will change your mind about that sweet boy, Newt.”

You attempted to pushed yourself to the far side of the table. “Don’t touch me.” You hissed trying to loosen the straps. 

“I’m afraid you don’t have a choice this time.” Chancellor Paige almost seemed sympathetic as she moved some of your hair out of the way to reveal a thin vein and injected the first syringe into your head.
