Lots to consider here from @anonymoushouseplantfan .
I am working my way through the latest Lady C video. It's a long one. About 35 minutes in, she talks about mixed race/race in Jamaica, and there's an interesting comment about Doria's family tree. She discusses a phone call she received months ago from the Royals, which directly *counters* the assumption that the Sussexes made about a comment that the couple admit they did not question/pursue.
While some wonder if it could have been Camilla who made the comment, and it could have been anyone, the rumour is that it was Princess Anne, and that Zara was unhappy about it. Which makes me wonder if PH let it be known that he wasn't happy about the query (and he let Zara know) but the family never had an airing out about it.
Tumblr media
If you follow taro t readings, one recent reading simply said that what Princess Anne is thinking right now cannot be printed. I'm going to go with incandescent emotions.
Under Lady C's video, people from mixed race families share their families' approaches to pre-birth comments. As I have personal, first hand experience (being mixed myself and living in that context), I feel it's important to not misrepresent those types of conversations. However, a very different conversation, which has different intentions, could start off the same way. So I would argue that PH - specifically - not MM, was wrong to not unpack what the speaker's point was but then agree to let a personal comment with no context be shared with the world.
I also think it was a grave mistake to discuss personal convos he had with the Queen and suggest that she is weak and under courtiers' thumbs. Who will ever trust him with a personal conversation again? That's a serious misstep and breach of privacy involving a grandmother, elder and Queen. You can be sure that this response from the BRF has the Queen's and Prince Phillip's hands all over it. (He has always been in the lead role when it comes to family matters and I have no doubt that he still does, despite his fragile health.)
Tumblr media
These types of conflicts should have been sorted out within the family. The failure rests squarely on PC's shoulders. PH revealing that his father stopped taking calls is proof of PC's bunglings. Some say "yay. He put his foot down". I disagree. When a vaccuum is created, other forces move in. Never stop attempting to communicate - to hear and be heard.
So it's not just PH and MM who are at fault for bringing the world into the dysfunxtional relationship and conversation. It's an epic fail all round. And yes I get that some of the players have been difficult. The Times found out - and they typically access high level sources - that when Kate brought the flowers to Frogmore Cottage, the door was slammed with a "not enough" comment told to her by MM. If this is true, there have been serious problems and deep rifts stewing behind the scenes.
But the threat of a convo happening with Oprah has been known for a long time. Where did the BRF think someone "who needs to be heard" and an unhappy second child in a privileged family are going to turn once they have almost completely dismantled the bridges between the family units?
Just like Sarah - straight to Oprah's "couch".

Jurassic World (2015) dir. Colin Trevorrow. 7/10 Updated 2 years later. (8.25.20.) 7.4/10
The gyroscope is so cool. I would love to go to an amusement park like this. Jimmy Fallon being the guide is too unreal. How very universal studios. I love that I saw bts of this at studio tours because it makes me hyper aware during certain scenes.
Oh, look. Nick Robinson from Love, Simon.
Chris Pratt is so hot.
When did Claire’s hair get wavy? She’s also pretty brave for who she is. She’s not annoying like the wife in the third movie.
Aww, the raptors got to me.
I was wondering what it’d be like if gender roles were switched for Chris Pratt and Claire.
That last battle was so epic and brutal. Isn’t it wild that Earth had dinosaurs in the beginning and now it’s just humans. Like, we have no physical power.
Updated Commentary:
Lowery asking why it’s personal is amusing.
Claire waiting for how Karen would react is relatable.
Owen is who I want during the apocalypse.
Spoiler: [About Karen and Scott Mitchell dropping off their sons, Gray and Zach, at the airport. They are to spend time with their aunt Claire Dearing at her job in Jurassic World, a dinosaur theme park at Isla Nublar. Zach constantly checks out girls on the trip even though he said bye to his girlfriend at home. Gray is constantly wanting to explore and see more since he’s interested in dinosaurs. They are taken care of by Claire’s assistant, Zara. They have VIP access to the rides. Claire is busy talking with investors about how the lab creates better dinosaurs to keep with the excitement. Their first genetically modified hybrid, the Indominus Rex, has been created. Claire doesn’t have too much time for the kids, but greets them. Claire confronts Lowery, a control room worker, about his Jurassic park shirt. His coworker, Vivian, is there too. Simon Masrani is the park owner and flies Claire to the Indominus Rex. He is working to get his flying license. At the Indominus Rex enclosure, Masrani sees that it is able to scare anyone since that’s what they were going for. Masrani wants Owen Grady to check the stability of the paddock. Owen spends his time training the raptors–Blue, Echo, Delta, and Charlie. They listen to his commands. Vic Hoskins is head of InGen security and loves the way the raptors listen to the commands. He wants a field test to see that the raptors can be used as weapons. Owen argues that they can’t be used like that since they are wild animals. A worker goes to trap a runaway pig and ends up falling into the raptor enclosure. Owen goes into the enclosure himself and is able to have the raptors stay where they are. Owen’s assistant, Barry, gets the worker out and Owen asks him to close the door. As the doors shut, Owen quickly gets himself out as the raptors pursue. Vic watches the entire interaction. Gray and Zach evade Zara and go around the park some more. Karen calls Claire and is upset that she’s not being involved with the kids. Claire promises to try. Claire goes to Owen to get his help with the paddock and they mention their failed first date. Gray and Zach watch a showing of the Mosasaurus being fed. Owen gets to the Indominus Rex enclosure and deems that it doesn’t have the social skills to be functional. When they don’t see the dinosaur, they try to locate it with the thermal signature detector. It reveals that the dinosaur is missing and they also notice claw marks on the walls. Claire heads to the control room to check the implant location of the dinosaur. She has Lowery tell her the coordinates and he says the dinosaur is still in the enclosure. He also sees from the security footage that Owen and two workers are in the enclosure investigating the scene. When they are alerted to get out, they see the Indominus Rex. One guard is killed while the other opens the gate and gets out. Owen gets out along with the Indominus Rex. The Indominus Rex kills the other worker while Owen hides underneath a car and uses the gas to mask his scent. Masrani refuses to evacuate the park and focuses on capturing the dinosaur. The Asset Containment Unit goes out to capture it. Gray talks to Zach about how their parents are getting divorced. Owen gets back to the control room and talks about how the dinosaur tricked them and is highly intelligent. He wants the ACU to retreat when he sees that they’re using non-lethal weapons, but they move forward nonetheless. They find the tracking implant on the ground after the Indominus Rex had clawed it out of himself. They then get attacked and killed by the Indominus Rex after noticing that it can camouflage with the surroundings. Claire has the north part of the resort come in. The ride line is stopped after Zach and Gray get on the gyrosphere tour. Masrani confronts Henry Wu about what the dinosaur’s genetic makeup is, but he doesn’t reveal it. They argue and Henry says that this is what they asked for. Zach and Gray roam amongst the dinosaurs and when notified to come back, Zach keeps them out since they are VIPs. Claire learns from Zara that she lost the kids and
she finds that they are in the gyrospheres. No one helps to go retrieve them, so she goes herself. Zach and Gray find an open gate to a restricted area and Zach convinces Gray to go in. Claire recruits Owen to help. Zach and Gray get caught up between the Indominus Rex and other dinosaurs. The gyrosphere flips upside down and as Claire calls them, the Indominus Rex takes notice of them and attacks the sphere. The boys manage to escape and lose the Indominus Rex by jumping off a cliff and into the water. Owen and Claire see injured Brachiosauruses and see that the Indominus Rex is hunting for sport and not to eat. They also find the broken gyrosphere and Zach’s broken phone. They follow the kids’ tracks. The kids get to an abandoned Jurassic Park visitor center and fix up a Jeep. Vic and InGen arrive. Vic tries to argue with Masrani to have the raptors kill the Indominus Rex. Masrani refuses and goes to fly the helicopter with two soldiers. The kids drive away as Owen and Claire find where they were. When they go to use the other Jeep, the Indominus Rex arrives. Masrani’s men start shooting at the Indominus Rex as it crashes into the aviary. The pterosaurs escape the aviary and crash into Masrani’s helicopter, causing them to all die. Zach and Gray get back to the park and Zara goes to get them. The people in the resort are told to get shelter as the pterosaurs start attacking them. Zara chases after Zach and Gray, but is carried off by a pterosaur. She’s taken by multiple and ends up getting eaten by the Mosasaurus. Claire shoots off a pterosaur that’s attacking Owen and he kisses her. Zach and Gray see them. Vic relieves all the workers in the control room and Lowery alerts Claire that the board assigned emergency ops to InGen’s private security division. Owen goes to stop Vic from using the raptors, but has to help nonetheless. He teaches the troopers what to do. Claire drives the kids in the back of the truck as Zach tries consoling Gray. Owen gets the raptors to take in the scent of the flesh that the Indominus Rex clawed off its body with the tracking device. They then go to chase it with Owen riding a motorcycle. When they get to the Indominus Rex, Owen sees it communicating with the raptors and learns that it’s part raptor. It’s the new alpha after Owen. The troopers start shooting at the Indominus Rex and the raptors start attacking the team. One raptor is about to attack Barry as he hides in a log and Owen gets it away. Claire drives off as the raptors pursue the truck and the kids try to lose the raptors. Zach tases one while Claire pushes some away. Because of Vic’s orders, Henry has everyone start evacuating, along with the research. Lowery chooses to stay behind as everyone else in the control room evacuates. He goes to kiss Vivian, but she says she has a boyfriend. Owen, Claire, and the kids get to the lab with no one there. They see Vic and he mentions that Wu works for him and that they are going to advance the deadliness of the dinosaurs. A raptor comes in and kills Vic even though he tries calming it down. The others get outside and are surrounded by the raptors. Owen talks to Blue and releases her from her head guard. The Indominus Rex appears and it attacks Blue after she tries to let Owen get away. The raptors start attacking the Indominus Rex. Claire gets Lowery to open Paddock 9 and they release the T-Rex. The T-Rex and the raptors fight the Indominus until the Mosasaurus eats it. All raptors except Blue died. Owen watches as Blue leaves. The public are tended to by doctors and Karen and Scott arrive.]

We’ve Been Waiting in the Wings Forever: A Queer Theater Story
By Amy Rose Capetta
I discovered the joys of theater in middle school for a sad but simple reason: I was quitting dance. At the age of twelve, I was told by my teacher that I couldn’t continue at an advanced level without losing a significant amount of weight. The issue of body policing in the performing arts comes up in my YA novel Echo After Echo, specifically for the main character, Zara, who is not the waifish ingénue people have come to expect. Fortunately, when I chose to leave dance behind, I fell into theater, and despite being a different body type than many of my fellow actresses, I found roles and fell in love with acting.
Tumblr media
For a long time, that felt like enough.
Tumblr media
But as production after production went by, a problem became painfully clear to me: although these stories were being directed and designed and acted by lots of queer people, they were never about us. Part of this was due to the limited canon most theaters worked from, while another was the assumption of straight audiences. I can count the number of canonically LGBTQIAP characters in the dozens and dozens of plays I performed in on one hand. Sometimes we were thrown a few precious scraps of subtext: I relished the Olivia and Viola scenes in Twelfth Night and dreamed of a version where the ladies forgot about Orsino and ruled Illyria together. When I reached college, directors became bolder, inserting queerness into their productions even when it wasn’t in the text. It was almost never in the text. And in the rare cases when it was, things got tragic. Fast. *In a dozen years of constant auditioning, I ran into no joyfully queer comedies, no gorgeous Sapphic verse plays, maybe two gay characters in musicals (seriously??) and definitely no love stories with happy endings.
Tumblr media
When I sat down to write a book set in the NYC theater world, I knew the play being performed would be a classical, lauded boy-girl love story. But the real love story would be unfolding between two girls, one an actress and the other a talented young designer. I wanted to push back against the expectation that we’ve been given that truly epic love stories, the ones we should put under the brightest lights and tell time and time again, all look the same. I wanted queer people to see a little bit of themselves, finally onstage.
*I’m now aware that a radical and fantastic queer theater has been alive for a long time, but when I was a teenager it didn’t exist in a way that was accessible to LGBTQIAP young people across the country. I definitely hope that’s changing!

ON THE EDGE OF ‘17
Tumblr media
By DJ FR8-O
To say that 2016 was a confusing year for music would be an understatement. Between some of our A-listers turning their backs on the music machine in exchange for artistic credibility, new artists snatching the spotlight from chart-topping royalty and some of our faves ghosting for most of the year, I'd say we're all about ready to flip that reboot button and start all over. So to help you get a head start on what the New Year has in store for our ears, here's my list of new artists you may not have heard of, but will surely be the beat of 2017.
Tumblr media
James Bay You may not know his name, but chances are you might have heard his infectious acoustic ballad "Let It Go" at some point in 2016. The song boosted the British singer-songwriter's U.S. cred exponentially and now he's up for three Grammys for Best New Artist, Best Rock Album (Chaos and Calm) and Best Rock Song ("Hold Back the River"). He was discovered on YouTube back in 2012, and signed with Republic Records later that same year. Although most of his claim to fame lies across the pond, his soulful vocals, addictive hooks and universal storytelling have a strong chance of taking home the Grammy this year and dubbing him the hottest import since Sam Smith.
Tumblr media
Leon Else It doesn't take a music journalist to see that the pop landscape has long forgotten about the Red Bull heavy days of EDM and moved on to a more laid back vibe, but that doesn't mean all electronica has been shelved. This dancer-turned-singer is redefining the genre one song at a time, starting with his breakthrough single "Black Car." The sleek, sythpop track got its moment in the spotlight when it was recently featured on How To Get Away with Murder, and it's been blowing up on YouTube and social media ever since. On his funky follow-up "Dance," the smoldering singer/songwriter/producer slips into his dancing shoes once again to show us his sickest moves on the song's video. Seriously, go check it out! We can expect to hear (and hopefully see) more of this multi-talented musician this year, as he gets closer to releasing his debut album.
Tumblr media
Zara Larsson At 19-years-old, this blazing pop star already has nearly a decade of experience under her belt. After winning a talent show at the ripe age of 10, the Swedish singer-songwriter signed a record deal and released her debut EP before she was old enough to drive. She's spent the last two years dipping her toe in the U.S. music scene with tracks like "Lush Life," "Never Forget You" (with MNEK), "Girls Like"(with Tinie Tempah), her addictive club-banger "Ain't My Fault" and latest single "I Would Like." She was recently named one of Time Magazine's "30 Most Influential Teens of 2016" and is putting the finishing touches on her U.S. debut album scheduled to drop this month. The Epic Records project will feature collaborations with Stargate, The Monsters & Strangerz, Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Max Martin, MNEK, Mike Spencer, and more.
Tumblr media
Dua Lipa It's only been a year since she released her first single "New Love," but the London-based model-turned-singer is already counting down the days until her self-titled debut album is unveiled to the world next month. No pressure! Fortunately the most important project of the 21-year-old's life is in the very capable hands of some of the industry's hottest producers, like Andrew Wyatt, Emile Haynie, Jack Tarrant, Digital Farm Animals, Koz and Tom Neville. Dua has already given us a taste of what's to come with her new single "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)," a dancey lovechild of sythpop, urban flow and tropical vibes. No surprise, considering at 14, she was posting covers of her idols Nelly Furtado and Christina Aguilera on YouTube. With her fresh approach to pop and Warner Bros' deep pockets to back her up, 2017 could be the year that blows her mind.
2017 Comebacks Emerging artists aren't the only ones we should be watching out for this year. Some of our faves who will be serving up new music in 2017 include Charli XCX, Christina Aguilera, Clean Bandit, Fergie, Nelly Furtado, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Kylie Minogue, Tove Lo, plus '80s icons Blondie and Depeche Mode!
If you're a recording artist, producer or musician and would like your work featured in TOP TRAX, hit me up at [email protected].

Honor Bound
Honor Bound takes place directly after the events that transpired in Honor Among Thieves. In the novel, Zara, Beatriz, and their allies settle on the Sliver, (a criminal warren), in order to regroup, recover, and outfit their injured Leviathan. While on the Sliver, they work for pay and eventually, take a dangerous job, which unleashes a new threat upon the universe. Will Zara and her friends be able to stop this new threat before it’s too late?
Although I enjoyed Caine and Aguirre’s novel because it was action-packed, there were a few things, which I didn’t enjoy. First, there were a number of typos, word omissions and additions, and grammatical errors. Second, I didn’t feel as though anything was accomplished throughout the course of the novel. Its majority was spent outfitting the Leviathan as they healed from their last battle with the Phage while another, (extremely small), portion was spent making new allies and enemies. I would have liked to see a larger progression of the overall story. Furthermore, the novel’s ending was extremely abrupt and in the middle of an epic scene—it would have been nice if that had not been the case. Third, the Honors and their allies didn’t really grow as characters throughout the course of the novel and I would have liked to see them mature throughout their journey.
Rating: 3.5/5 stars

#1YearOfBaahubali2: How this non-Hindi film provided invaluable changes in Bollywood!
New Post has been published on http://viralstation.org/1yearofbaahubali2-how-this-non-hindi-film-provided-invaluable-changes-in-bollywood/
#1YearOfBaahubali2: How this non-Hindi film provided invaluable changes in Bollywood!
#1YearOfBaahubali2: How this non-Hindi film provided invaluable changes in Bollywood!
I don’t think I can ever forget April 28, 2017. It was a rare moment when I went to see a film with tons of expectations and received a lot more in return. I don’t think such an occurrence happens often. As I came out of the PVR IMAX screen at Lower Parel, Mumbai, I knew this film is going to rewrite box office records. Yet, I don’t think anyone then could have guessed that this classic film would go on to earn Rs. 510 crores nett simply in its Hindi version!
There are so many lessons to be learnt from the mega success and insane popularity for this film. One of the reasons is that our film often fail in bringing people to theatres is because the language, the setting, the problems of the character, way of life etc. all seem alien to many of the moviegoers. Even today, a very big chunk of audiences are not watching American television or shows on Netflix. Their mode of entertainment is still the daily soaps. Even in films, many of them prefer watching south dubbed films. No wonder almost all major movie channels are showing south dubbed remakes on a daily basis. This is because these films are pure entertainers – simplistic, dramatic and action-packed.
Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion was also on the same lines but much better than all these South remakes. The setting might not be relatable but it’s nothing new to the audiences as they have been exposed to period films involving kings, politics over usurping the throne etc. Also, B R Chopra’s epic TV Show ‘Mahabharat’ had made the whole setting very popular. Moreover, the exhilarating and whistle-worthy moments are aplenty. Right from Baahubali’s heroic entry to Devasena’s magnificent entry to Baahubali supporting himself in the midst of the bulls to Devasena getting into the boat with the help of Baahubali’s broad shoulders to the eye-popping intermission sequence to the sudden beheading sequence to the finale where Baahubali’s army use a novel trick to enter Mahishmati and a lot more – all these sequences made viewers broke into seetis and taalis! Some of these scenes also got brickbats and ridicule, but audiences had no reason to complain. It’s also important to note that director S S Rajamouli and his team treaded a thin line. If they had done a bit extra, it would have not worked. But they exactly knew where to stop and kudos for that understanding!
The character of Devasena, played by Anushka Shetty, was royal, beautiful, sensitive and brave. The women empowerment bit came out very nicely and that was also another reason why this film became all the more special. There was a bit of tu-tu main-main angle between the ‘saas’ Sivagami and ‘bahu’ Devasena. But again, the execution was just perfect and nobody said that it reminded them of any ‘saas-bahu’ TV show!
An analysis of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion would be incomplete without the mention of the songs. There were only five songs and all of them were original compositions and fit very well in the narrative. The title track had to be exciting but what was unexpected was 'Soja Zara'. The manner in which a parallel was drawn between Lord Krishna and Baahubali was excellent. I must have seen the video of this song hundreds of times and I was happy to meet people who are also as crazy about this track. 'Veeron Ke Veer Aa' had a beautiful and VFX-laden dream sequence that made for a great watch on the big screen. ‘Shivam’ added a nice touch to the already excellent opening credits while 'Jay-Jaykara' made viewers smile and cry. It’s been a year and yet this soundtrack is still popular and that definitely speaks volumes after how much viewers have lapped it up.
Thankfully, the blockbuster success of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion has opened the eyes of Bollywood. Films like Kesari, Brahmastra, Rannbhoomi and even Housefull 4 got green lit or got a boost somewhere thanks to the way audiences reacted to Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion. It might not be wrong to say that perhaps even Aamir Khan got motivated to make his dream project Mahabharat after witnessing the euphoria created by this film. And this is very good news for Bollywood that was really suffering from too many flops and films that had an urban, restricted appeal. Also, these biggies will have the required scale and grandeur that would make them ideal for big screen viewing. And this is very important in today’s times when footfalls have fallen drastically in theatres. Hollywood understood this long back and hence, it keeps churning out big-scale action extravaganza, Avengers: Infinty War being the latest example. However, mere scale won’t help – the film has to be entertaining and simplistic. Someone sitting in Juhu should also enjoy the film as much as someone sitting in Jaunpur. Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion achieved this incredible feat and hence, the makers have to be absolutely sure that the script is such before spending more than hundred crores on their ventures. And this is quite possible. Our mythology is full of amazing stories. Our heroes in the pages of history have achieved great heights. Most of these are popular among people. Or we can make a wholly original film- we have some of the best writers after all. Let’s not copy a Baahubali but let’s at least understand why it succeeded and use the same factors to our advantage. Let’s create more such big-scale king-sized entertainers in Bollywood. Let’s ensure that the film to cross the Rs. 1000-crore nett milestone in India in a single language is a Hindi film. As my college motto goes, we will and we can!

Kristie Cook ~ Forget You Not
iBooks | Amazon | Amazon UK | Kobo| Barnes & Noble | Coming Soon to Google Play Two years ago, Kaela Peters nearly killed her fiancé by ripping his throat out. They’ve been compelled to forget that she even existed. But she can’t forget them, so when she receives an unexpected job offer far away in the Colorado mountains, she seizes the opportunity to escape her past and the painful memories. If only she’d known she was running right into her true past and memories that cut even deeper. Her real name isn’t Kaela Peters, Havenwood Falls and her new job are not what they seem on the surface, and the love of her life isn’t the ex in Atlanta. As she starts piecing together the fragmented memories of her past and her moroi heritage, the passion of old love reignites. Until she discovers that the triggering of her vampire gene may have been foul play with dire consequences—and Xandru Roca, the epic love she’d left behind, has something to do with it all. Kristie, if you had to pick a theme song for your story what would you choose? Never Forget You by Zara Larsson
Kaela walks into a karaoke bar. What song does she sing? Soak Up the Sun by Sheryl Crow (hahaha!)
Who would your characters want to see come to Havenwood Falls for a concert? Well, I can see Xandru being a big Linkin Park fan… Even though Kaela’s former life was all about the night life, clubs, bartending, etc., she was never into the club music. She’d prefer to see Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars, or Mumford & Sons. I think they’d both love to see Imagine Dragons together.
Tell us about your music taste when writing: Linkin Park has always been a huge influence on my writing. So has 30 Seconds to Mars and Breaking Benjamin. I wrote this one so fast, though, that I never put together a playlist.
E.J. Fechenda - Fate, Love, & Loyalty
iBooks | Amazon | Amazon UK | Kobo| Barnes & Noble | Coming Soon to Google Play
Aster McCabe couldn’t be happier with her job managing Coffee Haven and baking blueberry scones the whole town raves about, especially her sweet and sexy boyfriend Patrick. She loves her simple, small-town life in Havenwood Falls. At least, until her sister suddenly shows up with trouble not far behind.
The sisters’ relationship has always been volatile, especially with the pressure of being the Alpha’s daughters and the expectation to be perfect. Reeve never failed in that department, and Aster grew up in the shadows of her sister’s success. But when Reeve left for college, Aster blossomed. So she’s dealt a painful blow the moment her sister walks in the door and meets Patrick—a mountain lion’s call to its mate couldn’t be any more obvious. Neither can it be controlled or refused.
When an unstable Alpha from another den claims Reeve as his mate, Aster, bitter over the recent betrayal, practically draws the guy a map to Reeve’s location, unknowingly putting her entire family and den in danger. Aster must figure out how to right her wrong and save her family. But loyalty and love are further tested when a stranger appears with the potential to forever change Aster’s fate.
Alright E.J. we need a theme song to listen to while reading this little gem. What is it? Be My Fire by The Blue Stones Your MCs walk into a karaoke bar. What song do they sing? Okay, I see Aster and Reeve, after reconciling and having a couple of adult beverages, singing Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
BIG news! Havenwood Falls is getting a major concert. Who do your characters hope it will be? Imagine Dragons
Final musical thought? I have a diverse taste in music and each book has its own playlist. Music helps sets the tone for what I'm working on. Check out E.J.'s Spotify playlist HERE  If you guys don't use Spotify, you should. It's FREE and many, many authors make playlists for their stories which you can search.
Susan Burdorf - Old Wounds
iBooks | Amazon | Amazon UK | Kobo| Barnes & Noble | Coming Soon to Google Play

She awakens in a strange room with a mysterious and forbidding—yet undeniably sexy—man by her side. So much for finding solitude. But despite the craziness that brings her to the small eccentric town, she discovers herself drawn into the magic that is Havenwood Falls.
Russell Higgins had long ago given up the idea of finding the one he could trust his secrets to—until he met Sherry. One look at the feisty woman with a broken heart has him defying his pack and rethinking his own ideas of his perfect mate. What he can’t deny is the wolf inside, claiming the human as his.
Bradley Monahan wants Sherry back, and he would do anything to make that happen. Even fight the mysteries of a town that doesn’t forgive transgressions.
While love may heal old wounds, it’s the fresh ones that Sherry must overcome to find her way back home. Wherever that may be.
Susan, Old Wounds needs a theme song, what do you choose? Unexpected Love by Charice (if you have not heard this girl sing you MUST correct that)
Sherry and Rusty walk into a karaoke bar. What song do they sing? She loves Cher so probably they start with I Got You Babe and end the night with the Carpenters song We've Only Just Begun or Ryan Adams song Everything I Do I Do For You
Who would your characters want to see come to Havenwood Falls for a concert? They like the oldies so maybe Three Dog Night or The Moody Blues (Their song Somewhere Out There is my fave all time song)
Tell us about your musical tastes when writing:  I have a Pandora station, well several, actually. I listen to an eclectic mix of music which is not really related to scenes I am writing. I like Lady Antebellum, James Blunt, Charice, or Christina Perri, or The Civil Wars, or One Republic (Secrets gets me pumped every time - I keep seeing that scene from the Nicholas Cage version of The Sorcerer's Apprentice when this song plays and the Tesla coil shoots electricity everywhere).
There you have it, some musical love for you to check out. I jammed to E.J.'s playlist, I'm stoked the Havenwood Falls characters are excited for an Imagine Dragons concert (cause I'm going to see them in November!) and yes, Charice does have a beautiful voice! Now run to your favorite e-book retailer and grab up these new releases NOW while they're only 99¢. I'll bring you more Havenwood Fall, the musical, soon. Until next time, happy reading AND happy listening.

Love Island: What’s the big deal? – BBC News

Image caption Love Island contestants (l-r) Jessica, Marcel, Olivia, Dominic and Amber are hoping to find romance this year
Falling in love isn’t easy – let alone falling in love on national television.
But that’s what 13 “sexy singletons” are hoping to do on Love Island, which has just begun its third series on ITV2.
If you’ve never seen it before, the premise is to couple up and convince the public to keep you on the island in order to win 50,000 – all while trying to find your perfect match.
Think Big Brother but with board shorts, bikinis and more under-the-sheets shenanigans than you can shake a stick at, as the couples chop and change throughout the series.
If you have seen it before, it’s likely to be one of your guilty pleasure programmes you’ve agreed to dedicate the next seven weeks of your life to. Or you may throw it in your trash TV basket.

You may remember Love Island in its previous life as Celebrity Love Island, which ran from 2005-06 and featured the likes of Jayne Middlemiss, Callum Best and Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole trying to find love.
It was revived two years ago with average Joes taking part and was met with relatively modest success, watched by an average of 595,000 people – but still a hit for ITV2.
Last year it exploded, with an average of 1.4 million fans tuning in daily to watch. The show became must-see viewing amongst mainly female (67.4%) viewers and under 35s (63.6%).
Scheduled against Channel 5’s Big Brother, about 1.2 million people are currently tuning into the sunny island escapes in Mallorca – 200,000 more than those watching the action in rainy Borehamwood.
So what’s all the fuss about?
Who are the contestants?
Predominantly aged 20-23 – with the oldest a positively ancient 31 – this year’s contestants have clearly been cast for today’s social media and millennial audience.
They all have very active Instagram pages (which was likely a pre-requisite to appear), but here are a few that stand out.
Image copyright ITV
Executive assistant Chloe, 22, says she’s come on the programme “looking for the love of my life”.
Image copyright ITV
If you’re a fan of Noughties pop you might recognise Marcel, who used to be in Blazin’ Squad – but more on him later.
Image copyright ITV
Oil rig worker Sam, 21, introduced himself by saying: “I pull birds for a living.”

But don’t think it’s all glamour models and wannabe celebrities – 27-year-old Camilla works in explosive ordnance disposal, going into countries after conflicts and getting rid of landmines so they don’t injure civilians. Oh, and she apparently dated Prince Harry.
The memes
The Twitter commentary that accompanies each episode is of epic proportions, which gives viewers all the more reason to watch it live to be part of the conversation.
#LoveIsland trended every night in its first week, with viewers keen to share their views on the villa’s antics.
The first episode was full of memes on how Marcel was trying to keep his Blazin’ Squad past a secret, but then told a bunch of his housemates. Unfortunately as the group’s first hit was in 2002 and most of the contestants are in their early 20s, Marcel’s claim to fame was met with mostly tumbleweed.

After the third episode there was a lot of debate over whether Camilla was too “boring” because she failed to kiss or fall in love with anyone in the first 48 hours.

Controversies
Viewers this year will be hoping for a similar sort of scandal that last year’s series produced.
Miss Great Britain Zara Holland lost her crown after scenes showing her performing a sex act with a fellow contestant were screened.
Image copyright ITV
Miss GB organisers said they couldn’t promote her “as a positive role model moving forward”, adding she “simply did not uphold the responsibility expected of the title”.
But it all happened without the model knowing as she was in the villa without access to the outside world. A week later she quit the show after her mother fell ill.
The show attracted further controversy after it broadcast islanders Emma-Jane Woodham and Terry Walsh having sex 10 minutes after the watershed.
Seven people complained to Ofcom, but the watchdog cleared ITV2, saying the broadcaster had given viewers enough warning.
Life after Love Island
Like most reality TV shows these days, contestants hope their appearance will be a launch pad for other things.
For some, it’s led to… more reality TV.

Series one’s Jon Clark and series 2 winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey (pictured above) have appeared in The Only Way Is Essex, and fellow series contestant Rykard Jenkins moved on to Ibiza Weekender. First series hopefuls Josh Ritchie went on to star in Ex On the Beach.
But there have been other more lucrative successes – last year’s runner-up Olivia Buckland launched her own clothing range earlier this year.
She also secured a number of endorsement deals with her Love Island partner, Alex Bowen, including Christmas pudding flavoured condoms.
And they do find love
Yes they do apparently, although most haven’t.
Despite promising to stay together forever on the show, Cara and Nathan managed to last a year before splitting up in April. Last month Cara announced she was pregnant with Nathan’s baby, but they would not be reuniting.

Image caption Alex Bowen popped the question to Olivia Buckland in New York on New Year’s Eve
More happily, Olivia and Alex announced their engagement after a New Year’s Eve proposal and are set to get married next summer.
Fellow series two couple Scott (brother of Emmerdale star Adam) Thomas and Kady McDermott are still going strong, living together in Manchester.
And there has also been the first Love Island baby this year – after 2016 contestants Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison welcomed baby Vienna in May.
