I definitely prefer the David Hemblen/Matthew Waterson versions of Magneto’s voice specifically because they aren’t attempting an Ian McKellen impression. I’m firmly anti-British accent Magneto (and I’m also anti-British accent Charles Xavier, the man is a NEW YORKER, come on). Like I’m okay with him sounding vaguely European but imo, he’s lived in so many countries all over the world that his accent should be hard to place. I think Hemblen and Waterson capture that vibe really well.

It’s always crazy to see black celebs spew this same rhetoric because it’s such a privileged take… like, they’ve been famous for so long and have gotten their money up, moved out of the projects or whatever tf, that they’ve forgotten what it’s like to be genuinely feel. I think you can have your early-seventeenth-century devout English Protestant heroine legit think Catholics are bad news for at least a part of your novel. Not only would she almost certainly believe that, but also I'd like to think that most readers could handle that level of imperfection.

#i'd understand wanting to tone down a protestant heroine's anti-catholic sentiment #if she were (for example) a wealthy Gilded Age American WASP looking down on Catholic immigrants #and in this book i get why she's pretty open-minded about the powhatan and other indigenous tribes from the jump #that kind of prejudice is a lot more off-putting #and she's very much an outsider in her community who has a jaded view of the men in power #it kind of undercuts the themes but i get the decision #but. like. we get the POV of a Catholic dude for a bit #and he has. uh. other stuff going on #but there is a little bit of othering based on his catholicism going on narratively #which wouldn't stand out except that the heroine is like well really we all worship the same god like a chapter in #i went to middle school with a bunch of evangelical kids in the 2000s #and they were always saying that catholics weren't christian

I was playing the Sims 4 and Cas was having his first club gathering as leader of the garrison (the name of his club) and he was playing football with Uriel. And then a metor comes out of the sky and hits Uriel. And kills him.

And like, I can understand and appreciate why there is an element of randomness in the game. But still. What the fuck.

I closed out the game before Uriel could be reaped so he won't be dead.

#also death is glitchy in my game for some reason #so uriel was just standing there like normal #while everyone was crying around him #the sims #also for some reason Cas keeps getting angry at Dean #which is okay for a little while I don't mind a bit of drama in their relationship #but it was an enduring sentiment and I had to cheat their relationship back to normal #idk why they're being like that in my other saved game they have the same traits and get along fine

one of the many reasons Aabria is such a good GM is because of the very keen eye she keeps on the social dynamics and interactions that happens at the table and i absolutely Love her for it

#N posts stuff #ppl have been talking about it a lot for the interaction between Thorn and his followers -> the mostly joke the Player was making #about giving Ava advantage on an intimidate check turning into a Serious confrontation about the dynamic Thorn has w/ those followers #which is an Excellent example but i'm watching a court of fae ep and she does it really well here as well; in and After the convo rue & hob #have about the Goblin Court Marriage -> there's an overt Disparity in how Rue views courts and how Hob does that colors a kind of #miscommunication between them; Rue and Hob know each other as kindred spirits in feeling Alienated from their courts #but Rue tends to see themself as wholly Separate from their court (barely part of it at all) whereas Hob still clearly Does take a staunch #Identity as a Member of the Goblin Court -> so when Rue talks about the marriage and Hob's role in it they see it as something Hob is being #manipulated or Commanded into caring about whereas Hob pretty clearly seems to take it as a Personal wound - Rue doesn't care #about the dynamics or standing of their court bc they're Separate but Hob DOES care about those things bc he's still Part Of it #even if he still feels alienated from it at the same time; they take a different approach in how they feel in that alienation #which is why Rue's sentiment of 'take care of yourself' seems to leave Hob on the verge of tears; bc he doesn't Share that approach #and Aabria seemingly takes serious notice of this because the Immediate next convo is between Rue and an NPC who calls Rue out #for that disparity -> saying they're a Fool if they think that Everyone around them doesn't feel the Weight of their court behind them #ie; even though Rue sees themself as Separate they're still reaping a social Privilege in Being a member of their court anyway #a 'you can't have it both ways' kind of call out that is So choice and i love it a lot; rue having to Immediately confront #their own perceptions like that even tho they still wont quite Acknowledge it; tasty i love it <3 #btw i've decided to start being SO annoying about my thoughts on subjects; this is bc i take So so many notes on them & i like to share :3 #but my Fic Writing words have been screwed to hell lately so. one billion analysis posts upon ye instead
