Polls revealed that Sakura and Chiyo v Sasori was the BEST fight in Shippuden 💀. I love Sakura but even I can acknowledge other fights had more weight and impact than that. Can’t wait to see the popularity poll now.

The one who saved Naruto is Obito and Hinata was not in a serious condition. Any normal medical shinobi can treat her easily because her condition is not dangerous. This does not mean that Sakura saved her life and then treating people is part of her duty as a medical ninja and not something great. And in her fight against Sasori, she used anti-venom whenever she was exposed to poison, and old Chiyo was helping her

That plus some of the facts are wrong like her early character design one is actually a cover art Kishimoto did during the manga and not her early works.

Sakura also doesn't own her own clinic she runs the Konoha hospital which has a department for children set up for those suffering from trauma.

Also Sakura doesn't actually use four elements why it does have natures she is never shown using any elemental jutsu and she only has Yin and Yang release cause that is what most medical and genjutsu come under.

Also it was not Sakura's birthday when Naruto and Hinata got married between March and May you can figure this out from Boruto's birthday and when he would have been conceived.

5. Team 7 vs Zabuza & Haku i just want to say that this one always makes me cry because i love love love Haku. also one of my chefs knives is named Kubikiribocho.

4. Six Paths of Pain vs Jiraiya BROOOOO the way i sob openly every time. TOP 10 ANIME BETRAYALS. that shit breaks my heart. but story-wise, i love it so much, ugh.

3. Sasuke vs Itachi we love some bro v bro and miscommunication. story-wise this was a pivotal moment of "ohhh shiiiitttt" that i will never forget.

2. Sakura & Chiyo vs Sasori whenever i think of Naruto fights, this is one of the first scenes that comes to mind. Sakura finally gets some time to shine and everything about it is so intense and stressful.

Konan - bc im in love w her. she has one of the most unique jutsus on the show and had a lot of potential but obvi. kishimoto. but she's got an interesting bit of character to play around w that i'm hoping to explore more of as i write her.

Sakura - she's EVERYTHING. sakura vs sasori is one of my favorite fights in shippuden.

Tsunade - bc she's badass, she's smart, she will steal all my money and gamble it away. i would thank her.

Kurenai - kishi wasted her potential tbh. genjutsu master who specializes in genjutsu themed after plant life is cool as HELL and we only see it like. once or twice.

prologue and land of waves arc: everything has already been said about this arc but it is truly a great start of the show laying the foundation of whats to come, the character’s dynamics and their opinions on the ninja worls among other things 9/10

the chunin exams: real shonen shit but i liked it because it introduced the background characters (konoha’s 11) as well as gaara temari and kankuro, a new antagonist show up (orochimaru) and also jiraiya is there.. except for whatever the fuck is wrong with the hyuuga and neji’s demonization.. 8/10

konoha crush: hiruzen and orochimaru battle was.. okay? i wanted them both to die lol anyways.. naruto and gaara’s fight yeah yeah<3 u dont get it naruto literally saved sakura and sasuke and then save gaara from the darkness!!!!!!! for that alone the arc is a 8/10

search for tsunade: MILF INCOMING‼️‼️ honestly i love tsunade and how she sees naruto as her little brother,,, the sannin battle was great too, shoutout to my boy kabuto<3 also the first time the akatsuki show up so yeah a great and complete arc 7/10 (bc of the amount of jiraiya i had to see)

sasuke recovery mission: im gonna be honest i thought it was too long and i hated seeing all the boys about to die, tsunade was so shitty for sending only gennin... i also think kakashi handled the whole sasuke thing badly.. the valle of the end fight was AMAZING like so good i cried like a baby bc i didnt want sasuke to go with orochimaru 8/10

kazekage rescue mission: GOOD SHIT!! naruto is back in town and everyone is so grown up and everyone missed him<3 also gaara my baby <3 new akatsuki members which i really enjoyed. sasori v sakura was THEE fight honestly we were robbed how come that’s sakura’s only big fight🤨 9/10

tenchi bridge reconnaissance mission: TENZO AND SAI EVERYONE CLAPPED!! honestly i love this arc. it really shows how much naruto is willing to do just to defend sasuke’s name from orochimaru, the four tailed naruto is amazing i love him i wanted to see more of him. and although sai is a bit annoying at first he ended up being so protective of his team.. 10/10 just bc of that gay ass sns reunion

hidan and kakuzu: whew this arc has everything the two gayest akatsuki memebers, a guy who licks blood and an immortal dude, team 10 fighting together, naruto training with tenzo, kakashi looking like shit, the rasen shuriken, asuma’s ghost lighting shikamaru’s cigarette everything!! the last good arc 8/10

itachi pursuit mission: orochimaru dead yay... i dont have strong feelings about team taka i like karin but i hate how her character is just being obsessed with sasuke, i could write her better i could fix her. huhhhh i dont really remember much abt this arc but i think it’s pretty boring 6/10

tale of jiraiya the gallant: maybe unpopular opinion but i enjoyed jiraiya battle with pain and the introduction of sennin mode. not much to say i think at that point the akatsuki are still very interesting villians and that fight show us how ruthless they are, especially pain 7/10

battle between brothers: yeah great fight tbhhh the sharingan v sharingan aspect is so cool, i also loved how itachi purged orochimaru from sasuke’s body and i think its the first time we see susano’o and amateratsu.. i dont fuck with the way itachi is “redeemed” or protrayed as a savior i despise it 7/10

pain's assault: pain was so ruthlesss what happened at the end nagato huh? a little stupid speech and u resucitated all of konoha? pathetic. the best parts of this arc are naruto training, his one v one fight with pain where he almost turned into kurama and the him punching minato (and their reunion ofc).. the rest is just okay especially how it was resolved and how konan was just there 7/10

five kage summit: the beginning of the end is here, truly the last arc that doesnt feel like swallowing glass every time u press play. overall i like those samurais, the kages with different abilities and the way naruto and co found out abt what really happened to the uchiha.. sasuke killing hanzo is THEE highlight of the arc, sakura trying to kill him and naruto “i’ll bear all ur hatred” really make this arc a 8/10 despite it all

the fourth shinobi world war (countdown, confrontation, climax): im lumping them all together bc i feel like it was all very underwhelming (except gaara and his speech),,, things get spicy with the white zetsus and edo tensei but its still not the best. gaara v his father and that gay mizukage, and madara showing up and kicking everyone’s asses yeah.. 6/10

birth of the ten-tails' jinchūriki: juubito is the hottest and obito in general tbhh, neji’s death was so unneccesary and him spouting that shit abt how good it feels to give up life for someone else???? kishimoto im outside ur home... nothing remarkable tbhh i hate to say it but the edo hokages, or rather hashirama and minato really made this a go from a three to a 5/10

kaguya otsutsuki strikes: i dont even know where to begin this is the lowest, most anticlimatic conclusion the show could’ve reached... an alien??????? black zetsu???? it feels like the mangaka gave up halfway thru it and it’s only bearble bc the team 7 reunion and sun/moon gay rencarnation sasunaru thingy... the rest NOT GOOD 4/10

For the opinions ask meme: a guy in my php group asked me what my favorite naruto fight was. And i said sasori v Sakura was pretty good to ME bc i think Sakura is kinda underrated as a character and she’s interesting in battle considering she does not have the advantages like a tailed beast, a sharingan, byakugan etc that was see so often centered in fights in naruto. I think kishimoto should have treated her better and explored that battle dynamic more. i feel similarly about tsunade. And this fucken asshole had like the gall to tell me i didn’t know what i was talking about then said his favorite battle was obito v kakashi. which is not a wrong answer. my answer just happened to be more correct and interesting than his and also he was in the military and im dyke who works at a 24/7 gym so im objectively more right than him on anything given those circumstances. oh i completely agree with you. sakura v sasori is def in my top 3 fights for the exact same reasons. most of the konoha 9 have kekkei genkai or some other insane ability so it was refreshing to see a character kick ass without using their Magic Eyes or whatever else. sakura is also very rarely treated as more than a damsel in distress and when she is, it’s only because she’s being a caretaker of some sort so it was really nice seeing her live up to her potential as a kunoichi in that fight. ah early shippuden, before kishimoto made sakura act like a terrible person for literally no reason other than misogyny

1) sakuras overwhelming lack of popularity was tracked especially in mid 00s to early 10s online forums when the internet was still new and fresh and not the way it is now. people wanted to literally murder a 12 year old because she was boring/mean/useless/got in the way of their ship. a western example would be, for me, jason todd's initial lack of popularity when he was introduced as robin. letters would pour into dc's headquarters about how much they hated him. whereas the manga kind of steadily reduced sakura's appearance, dc (half jokingly, half serious) opened up a phone poll to permanently off jason. and they did, because people voted in favour of it, for many reasons. whilst the manga didnt go to that extent, all you see are people complaining about one specific character for many reasons. what do you do? you write her out. the sasori fight was pretty much a last ditch attempt to salvage her character. it didnt work. even today, people still call sakura 'useless' and 'ugly' and a 'bitch' plus every other word under the sun. like WHY would they, as a company, after seeing allllllllllllll this negativity, insist on having her still feature? from a business standpoint? kishimoto actually did TRY, and has said in interviews that he did try with his editor agreeing, to bring sakura back into a focus. but people sat there and said 'we hate her' so the publishing house went: write her out. we want sales. one thing with that especially is that kishimoto wanted to finally show sakura's parents, but her lack of popularity resulted in them scrapping the chapters. the two parents we see for her are non-canon, as they appear in a filler movie and episodes.

2) its kind of one of those situations with kishi's writing where its equal parts 'it was written honestly during a relatively different time in media' and 'its primary target wasnt a western audience (and western audiences really need to learn this at some point im begging)' and 'its a fucking SHOUNEN MANGA FROM THE LATE 90s THEY ADHERED TO RIGID STEREOTYPES AND STORIES' and 'being forced to work on a manga for 15 years straight with little to no allowances to actually go to interact with people and like mentally update HOW people are really shows because you keep portraying characters to said very rigid structures' and 'the publishing house got really involved in focusing the story on sasuke and naruto because the series is worth millions and generated i think up near a billion in merchandise' and 'he didnt have a fucking plot and it shows when you hit shippuden. itachi wasnt even a planned character up until his first akatsuki appearance when he traumatised sasuke AGAIN lol did you know that sasuke didnt even have a family plot until 50 chapters after saying he wanted to kill a certain someone? yeah. hello.' and 'technically kishi also said he didnt even wanna make shippuden but he felt like he was obligated too once the last sasuke v naruto fight in part 1 so he fucking wasnt WITH it as far as working out anything he said this sooooo many times on god' and also a touch of 'sakura's first appearance was that of a 12yr old girl im sorry but 12 yr old girls ARE MEAN LMAO have you spoken to a 12yr old recently? i have. it was hilarious but also like im still recovering from being dressed down' and of course 'no, kishi proved he cant really write women for many many many reasons' which all result in:

A lot of these "naruto facts" pages are now doing everything in their power to discredit sakura's role in the sasori battle claiming that she didn't do anything that she was puppet therefore useless and the antidote she made was too op and was stupid armor 🙄 ... how do I respond to this or how do I argue against this? Why does everything that sakura does downplay to oblivion? How you respond to this claim if it was in your inbox?

People have been doing that for ages. Chiyo was puppeting Sakura for maybe 25% of that battle, and she helped give 10% support to Sakura during the final charge v Sasori’s 100 puppet army, and so people like to claim that means Chiyo was completely to credit for beating Sasori, or even that she at least got 50% credit. This ignores the multiple times Sasori outplayed Chiyo (he never outplayed Sakura, only endured and survived her), the times Chiyo basically just gave up, the time Chiyo literally failed to move Sakura out of the way with her puppet strings and would have gotten Sakura killed if Sakura hadn’t been more capable than anyone knew, and the multiple times Chiyo and Sasori looked at her in awe or shock because of how good she was.

Chiyo isn’t the one who was able to anticipate all of Sasori’s puppet movements by watching his fingers twitch, that was Sakura. Chiyo isn’t the one who made an antidote with 3 minutes of invincibility to Sasori’s legendary poison. Sakura didn’t get maimed and essentially crippled by the 3rd Kazekage puppet - instead, all on her own with zero support from Chiyo, she fooled Sasori into letting the puppet close enough for her to destroy it.

Sasori wasn’t bothered at all about the prospect of facing down Chiyo, but having to deal with Sakura made him comment that he hadn’t been pushed so hard since his entry to the Akatsuki, which explicitly puts Sakura at a level where she would have been an Akatsuki candidate even then.

Chiyo, using all 100% of her power, could only hold off Sasori’s puppets somewhat and let Sakura dive through the 90 other puppets she couldn’t cover - a technique capable of taking down an entire nation of shinobi, according to Sasori (probably a city-state, but in the manga we don’t know) - and then couldn’t react in time to dodge or block Sasori’s sword-strike at close range.

Sakura had her entire fight with Sasori, including jumping through 90 puppets without being so much as nicked by their blades, and crossed about half the distance of the cave to interpose herself between Sasori and Chiyo before the sword strike could reach a close-by opponent, and then healed herself in a vital area of a poisoned blade enough so that Chiyo’s uber healing technique only needed to do a little work (leaving her enough chakra for a second full use on Gaara immediately after) while only using 50% of her power.

Sasori didn’t give up and realize that he was still human no matter what he tried to do to change it because of Chiyo, he did it because of Sakura.

The Sasori victory was and always has been Sakura’s victory, and it’s always been meant to be interpreted as such. It was her moment to shine and show off her new abilities after the three year time skip, not show off a random old lady who showed up for that arc and then immediately died at the end of the arc.

The trouble with Sakura is that fandom uses a vicious cycle of circular reasoning with her: they dismiss everything she does as ‘meh, nothing’ and then they say ‘Sakura is useless because she’s never accomplished anything’, and then they excuse their dismissal of her feats with ‘she’s useless and never accomplishes anything, she needs to do more for it to matter at this point’.

I have a whole post about this. Sakura repeatedly and constantly accomplishes impressive feats, literally up to breaking the horn off of the chakra goddess with her bare fist and the fandom just looks the other way while they scream “Sakura is useless, she just stands on the sidelines of fights and looks worried!” - which is so completely wrong that Sasuke had to throw her into a rinnegan strength genjutsu that lasted most of a day just to keep her from interfering with his and Naruto’s fight because he knew literally nothing else would.

Some people are just determined to hate Sakura, either because she’s a woman in shounen action anime and so they’re trained to expect her to be useless (even if the ‘useless’ meme girls people think of almost never are), or because she’s a female character who dares to have romantic interests instead of being an independent single woman with no time for love.There’s not much you can do about it but correct people when they come to you with wrong information and roll your eyes at fandom. If fandom were willing to actually pay attention to canon material instead of fanon, we wouldn’t still see people calling Sasusaku abusive and saying Sasuke should have been thrown in prison for the multitude of crimes he committed that they can’t list.

As for the plot armor excuse...

Naruto got a hole punched through his lung and walked it off and twice he almost succumbed to the rage and power of the beast inside him only for the fragments of his parents’ souls to appear and save him at the last second. Shikamaru once got full restored from raisin-y death because Naruto had an emotional moment.

I can’t think of any character without plot armor.
