The Rookie Feds 1x04 Thoughts

Potential Spoilers for The Rookie 5x04 and The Rookie Feds 1x04.

This is another long post so get your drinks and snacks ready while you read.

Even though The Rookie Feds 1x04 continues the storyline that was established in the most recent episode of The Rookie I wouldn't really consider it a true crossover since Tim only makes a relatively brief appearance before The Rookie Feds switches its main focus back to its own main cast which is fine even though it would have been nice to really see the LAPD and the FBI working together to finish out the case. I really like that we're getting more background with these characters earlier on whereas with the original show it felt like it took a lot longer to be able to experience more of the characters personal life.

Jefferey (Rosalind's apprentice) was an appropriately scary and creepy villain. I don't think this will be the last we see of him since he was only shot and Laura was seen cuffing him so he's probably still alive. Though I don't think that he was the one behind Rosalind's death. Throughout the case I don't think they talked about finding a gun that on him or his hide out. So, I think it's still possible that there's another apprentice out there somewhere.

Seeing Simone and Laura team up and hangout was interesting to watch. Especially being able to see how similar their approaches are with how they both believe in the importance of knowing the background of whatever criminal they're trying to track down/arrest even though their personalities are very different.

The banter between Laura and her previous BSU/BAU partner was extremely fun to watch.

Carter and Garza bonding over getting divorced and Garza talking about being divorced three times reminded me of Rossi from Criminal Minds.

Brendan finally getting over his aversion to blood was wonderful, I'm really happy that they didn't drag that out for too long or try to use it as a running gag. (Also the idea of sink puppies is way too adorable)

I am ready to see The Rookie: Feds have a few episodes without any crossover from the original show to see how it stands on its own two feet.

god how tf does thomas dekker look exactly the same he did on tsc??? like even phoebe, britt and shelley look a little different but he looks the same just wow!!!! I know he's a villain but I'm gonna die when he interacts with britt's character tbh lol
