katrin’s psiionics have a very average output for her caste but a very high potential to be extremely powerful, which is greatly hampered by the fact she barely knows they exist

of course now being a part of ullane’s research will probably make her aware of exactly what they are (literal chronokinesis and not just ‘sometimes i get good at dodging things’), but at this point i feel like she’d be fairly disinterested in using them because she hasn’t really bothered to learn about them for ten sweeps. her enhanced reflexes are great in a pinch, but she’s more comfortable with them activating subconsciously than actually trying to learn how to use them

and while ullane is careful to not put too much strain on her, kat will probably come to realise pretty quickly that even if she wanted to use her psiionics’ actual abilities more they will not put her in good shape. her ancestor was very adept at using her chronokinesis and could stop time for a good 5-10 seconds, but by the time she was reaching the end of her life her mind and body were getting very close to completely falling apart.
