Chapter 2 : Amity.
A few days had passed since you had brought your unexpected guest home.
“You are so cute, aren’t you? So lovely!”
The maids' voices mingled over each other, their high pitch echoing on the room's walls. All of them stood around a little table, surrounding it, and in the middle of the table stood the little bird, gazing at the maids while occasionally chirping.
You smiled at the scene, almost tempted to join the maids in their cooing.
A few days had passed since you had brought your unexpected guest home. The start had been rocky, but everything was going smoothly. The bird was now responsive, moving around their cage. When you let her out of it, she moved with what you would call curiosity, jumping from place to place, looking at you with her large black eyes. Her presence alone would lift your mood significantly, something which also applies to the home staff.
All of sudden, your room needed much more cleaning than usual, because in the little time the bird had been here, half of the maids had taken to “cleaning” your room. They spent most of their time fawning over your little guest rather than cleaning, though.
You sat back in your chair, hearing the maids discuss something animatedly, and looked back at the book in your lap.
After wondering for days, your question about the bird’s species was soon answered after a look through ‘The Birds of the Western Kingdom’. Even though the book might be a little old (judging by the word kingdom instead of empire on the cover) its contents were still reliable. The grayish-blue color of its feathers and plump, round body had already given you an idea, but now it was confirmed. The species of the bird was a bluebird, a fitting name for your small friend. Additionally, the book had also revealed that your little friend was, in fact, a little lady, something that had delighted you greatly.
The maids also seemed delighted in the company of the bird, constantly cooing over her. Things were going well, the peace and warmness in the house was something that you could get used to.
“My lady?” The voice of one of the maids interrupted your thinking. It was Elli. She had been in the service of the manor ever since you arrived in the capital, and you were more than used to her, even considering her a friend. She cleared her throat, clasping her hands in front of her.
“Well, my lady. The rest of the maids and I were wondering…” She trailed off slightly, looking to the side. “Have you thought of naming the bird?”
That got you off guard. In the time you had with the bluebird, you hadn’t thought of giving it a name. It surprised you hadn’t thought one, but you supposed that in your worry, it didn’t even cross your mind.
“Erm, not... really? I hadn't considered it,” you confessed, standing up from your chair. The maids looked at each other excitedly.
“Then, what if we name it now? I mean, if you approve, my lady!” Elli was quick to calm herself, but she seemed as excited as the rest of the maids. You smiled, and walked towards the group, while the maids giggled.
“Yes, that is a good idea.”
You stood between the maids, looking towards the little blue bird on the table. The bird looked back at you, moving its head to the side and back to the front.
“Um, I can’t think of anything…what do you have in mind?” You asked, looking at the group around you. The maids quickly sprang into action.
“Let’s name it Betty!”
“I think Marian it's sweet-sounding, perfect for such a cute bird!”
“Well, I think Blue could be a nice name!”
“Blue? Isn’t that a little obvious?”
“Could you think something better?”
“Hey!”
The voices of the maids sounded on top of each other while they discussed, the bickering growing louder and louder.
“Now, now, no need for that!” You tried calming the maids, but to no avail, since they continued arguing over names. “Hey, listen a second!... Please? Girls! HEY!” You clapped as loudly as you could, the sound echoing loudly in the room. All the maids stopped in the middle of their arguing and bowed their heads while apologizing.
“What am I going to do with you all?” you sighted, rubbing between your eyes. The maids continued apologizing while you did so, but one little voice made you raise your head.
“Excuse me, my lady?” From the back, one of the maids spoke up. The other ones stepped aside, revealing a young maid. She seemed nervous, shuffling in place. You gave her the chance to speak.
“Well, my lady, I was thinking…” she started, her freckled cheeks turning red with all the attention on her. “That, um, maybe we could call the bird.. er, Amity?
“Amity?” That name picked your interest, so you curiously asked her what she meant.
“Well, yes, it’s a word I learned the other day,” she smiled, sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck. “I thought it would be nice fit, since, well… things have gotten better, my lady. And this bird is the representation of that, isn’t it? I mean, we could still name it anything else, it --“ She started rambling, obviously nervous.
“No, no! Don’t be sorry, I think is perfect,” you stopped her, sending a reassuring smile her way. The rest of the maids nodded, accepting the name as well. ” But most importantly… what do you think, Amity?”
You picked up the bird in your palm, holding it close. For a moment, the bird only watched you, but then it jumped, chirping loudly and dancing in your palm. The maids and you laughed at the reaction, caressing the little bird.
“Well, I think that means she likes it!”
The rest of the evening was spent cooing over Amity, with the number of maids eventually descending, until only you and a handful remained. You were putting books back on the shelf when Elli interrupted you.
“Shall I prepare a dress beforehand, my lady?” Elli stood close to the closet, already opening it and rummaging through the clothes.
“A dress?” You turned to face her, not understanding what she meant. She turned and looked at you, confused for a moment before answering.
“For the tea party tomorrow, my lady.”
Oh.
There was going to be a tea party in the palace, a reunion between noble ladies before the ball was held in some days. Lady Nevea had specially reserved a place within the palace to host it, so it would be rude of you to not attend. Amity seemed to be doing well enough as it was, and you had the help of the maids, so it wouldn’t be a bother. Besides, you could use the reunion to enjoy yourself, and being honest, eating the pastries was also high on your list of reasons to go.
“Yes, of course. Please get the dress ready for tomorrow Elli. Thanks.”
The tea party had been pleasant. The place had been decorated in beautiful white cloths that shone with the afternoon light. The mood at the place was warm and cheerful, with most of the nobles having a good time.
All kinds of delicacies were served at the tables, from puddings to cookies and cakes, and you had your fill. You met with your friends and chatted the evening away, laughing and enjoying the food. Everyone had enjoyed themselves so much that the party lasted until the sun had gone down.
By the time it was over, you were glad you had attended instead of staying home, even though your mind kept wandering to thoughts of Amity during the gathering.
You walked the halls, moving towards the entrance so you could go to your home. The afternoon sun had long since set, and the candles shone dimly in the dark hallway. You looked out of the window, watching the moon rise in the night sky. You were distracted, but the sound of another pair of footsteps made you turn.
At first glance, you didn’t realize who he was. Between the tiredness clouding your mind and the darkness, there was nothing you could pinpoint about them. You didn’t recognize the face of the man walking down the hall, mistaking him as just another noble who was going their way. But once you had gotten closer to him, you noticed.
The moonlight streaming from the windows enhanced his grayish hair and the golden-brown skin, his expression was firm and serious but what you noticed were those clear, sharp eyes posed straight ahead. Then, you realized that it was him, the man from days ago, the one you had – literally - run into.
The two of you were getting nearer with every step, and the increasing closeness only helped to increase your nerves. Did he recognize you? He didn’t seem to do so; he didn’t seem to have noticed you at all with the way his gaze was straight ahead. Ignoring him would be rude, but if he hadn’t noticed you, then apologizing wasn’t needed. If you just passed by and none of you interacted, it would be alright, maybe you wouldn’t have to---
His gaze was on you now.
This was it, there was no escaping. He was looking at you now and by how he was doing it you were sure he remembered you. You steeled yourself and tried to ignore the embarrassment you were beginning to feel, if you were quick then the shame you felt would be gone by the end of it and the incident with the stranger would be solved.
“Em, excuse me, sir?” You stopped yourself in front of him, cringing internally at the sound of your shaky voice. He had too stopped walking, staring firmly at you and that only served to make you hesitate.
“I’m not sure if you remember,” Your gaze moved to the floor on its own, unable to hold his gaze, but you forced yourself to look into his eyes once again. ”But the other day I accidentally ran into you … I just wanted to apologize properly for doing that…” You gave a bow. “I- I’m really sorry for doing that, sir. I hope it wasn’t an inconvenience for you,”
You waited for his reaction, half expecting him to be mad at you or mock you in some way, but unexpectedly, he didn’t say anything at all, all he did was stare at you for some incredibly long seconds. You thought your legs would give out in any second.
“It’s alright.”
He gave a slight nod, and just with those few words, he continued along his way until he turned a corner and disappeared from your view.  You almost fainted right there, but instead, you turned around and continued on your way home.
Somehow, that had been even more embarrassing than crashing into him.
When you arrived home, you went straight to your room and threw yourself face-first into the pillows. You were sure that Amity was looking at you strangely from inside the cage.
The ball had been a day expected by most, a major holiday that most looked up to during the year. This had been barely your second attendance, and you had been just as excited.
You arrived at the palace in the dress you had prepared weeks prior, the color was a pretty shade, giving you confidence. You walk to one of the groups where your friends are and start talking. The themes were simple, talking about the dresses, which person was here and the plans some of the nobles had. You were chatting with a young countess, who talked animatedly about the trip she was to take soon. However, your chat was cut short by the sound of loud trumpets.
Everyone turned to the entrance of the room, where the Empress and Emperor were making their entrance. Both looked radiant together, their arms linked together with golden crowns in their heads. Empress Navier looked astonishing, her signature red enhancing her regal aura. They walked together to their thrones and once they sat down, the nobles returned to their talks. The murmur of the crowd returned.
The theme changed, the most recent affairs concerning the royals conquering your talk. The heirs were healthy and the empire was thriving, an era of peace seemed to have begun. The diplomatic relations were prospering as well, with the empire as head with various trading deals. You listened as the nobles praised the reign as if they hadn’t ever judged the emperor or empress in their lives.
You looked back towards the emperors, only to notice someone walking over to meet them. Walking up the stairs to where their seats were being none other than the man you had run into. He approached the pair, and after giving a bow, he talked with them. The talk was natural, flowing between them without the stiffness of pleasantries. You could have even said the empress looked pleased.  They all seemed to know each other, and that surprised you greatly. Who was this man?
The countess followed your gaze to where the three of them chatted, and as if realizing your question, she began, “Grand Duke Kaufman is back in the Empire.” She watched the three of them. ”The trade agreement between Luipt and the empire seems to be going well, maybe he came to discuss that? Either way, their majesties and him are close, aren’t they?” She looked over to you, and you nodded. She turned back to the nobleman by her side and resumed talking, but you were still looking over the direction the three were at.
…Grand Duke Kaufman!?

The internalized sexism in remarried empress, (for an ask)
*this is going to be a long one so hold on tight*
It's no question that remarried empress is one of the most popular manhwas on webtoon and being so popular it holds a lot of influence, unfortunately, that influence promoted the internalized misogyny in not just the readers but in other works as well.
In the first chapter, Navier is presented as this baddass perfect woman, during her divorce trial she brings in a hot rebound who also happens to be another Emperor so she wont have to give up her life as empress, sounds pretty feminist right? Unfortunately that's only one of the few times we see anything related to feminism at all.
We are soon sent back a few months before the trial and right away, Naviers ladies in waiting are tearing another woman down and already believe this new woman is a threat to Navier because the Emperor Sovieshu is attracted to this newbie
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We are shown the basic concept of how the narrative wants us to view these two characters. Navier is perfect empress who is being wronged by her husband and this unnamed woman who's only crime so far was existing is a wench and a homewreaker, the ladies imply it as some sort of extreme act of disrespect for having to bathe what they believe to be a slave, proceeding with sucking up to the lead by saying they only wash their hands to bathe her as they don't even wash themselves and even when they admit this mystery woman to be beautiful they backtrack to making sure Navier is supported. You might think that this is just friends supporting friends but it goes beyond on that later on.
Later on we are introduced to this mystery woman, Rashta, a former slave found by Sovieshu in the woods who is immediately portrayed as rude, stupid, and a crybaby
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reason she cries is because she was struck and referred to as "the slave" while she wasn't very polite it's clear Rashta isn't doing this on purpose, rather it is sheer ignorance and an unusually large optimism
now, a lot of people like to say that Rashta must've done something on purpose to get Laura imprisoned and that she knew what she was doing, therfore justifying the hatred for her existence. However, Laura hit Rashta for reaching out to Navier and calls her a wench in the process
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some fans use the excuse that she smirked after Laura got sentenced to 3 days imprisonment and yes while that is excessive for Laura, Rashta was a slave only a few days ago and she's been mistreated by nobles her entire life plus I don't think she's smart enough to pull off Hannibal levels of planning like that, I personally think her smirk here is meant to be more of a "that's what she gets for treating me like that." Then a "hee hee my evil plan worked!"
the rest of the comic goes the same way, Rashta is continuously portrayed as a whore who ruined Naviers life by turning her husband against her, and she's written to be hated as a pick me who won't know her place. Rashtas pretty much every part of those "other girls" in those not like other girls templates. She's girly, loves the attention, emotional, dainty, overly sweet but secretly only has ulterior motives, and in the novel, she acts extremely childish even referring to herself in 3rd person, even when she makes good points it's all intended for the reader to laugh and jeer at her.
Shes practically designed to be the pick me archetype for baddass mary sue fans to despise and she sadly only gets worse as time goes on, not just in morals and personality but also in her writting
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how is Navier perceived?
Shes endlessly perfect, everyone loves her including several different powerful men from all different countries. Even her cheating ass husband is given the cheapest redemption arc in the end just for being sorry that he cheated and realizing how much he wants her. All the characters your meant to view as good adore her and anyone who doesn't is written as the meanest bad guy on the planet worthy of death. While she isn't the worst character I've seen, the narrative tries so hard to make her more amazing that Navier looks worse as a result, such as not caring about slavery despite being described as kind and devoted to all her subjects. Ergi even says it straight to us that there will always be that invisible wall between her and the poor.
Tumblr media
The characters we're supposed to see as good are:
Heinrey: A king who planned on going to war with Naviers country and only stopped when he fell in love with her at first sight, who also tortures and threatens anyone who even so much as inconveniences or talks shit about her all while he puts up an innocent front to appear non threatening (wonder who that sounds like)
Kaufman: A grand Duke who drugs other people with love potions which are essentially date-rape drugs and gets away with it once another woman takes the blame
Kosair: Naviers brother who violates Rashtas autonomy by slipping abortion drugs in her food and it's never talked about again.
Lebetti: One of Rashtas slave owners who still continues to harass Rashta and views anyone lower than her with contempt including her own nephew and so on
And who are the characters we are supposed to hate?
Besides Rashta and Sovieshu, the only other characters so far are Krista, the former queen of the west and her father
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ironically Krista is hated for the same reason readers supported Navier for: not wanting to replaced as queen, which isn't helped by Heinrey asserting that Navier is the one and only queen and anyone who objects will face serious consequences but they fix that by dumbing her down and blaming her for Kaufman drugging Heinrey. As for her dad, the old Duke. While he is the only man actively against Navier so far the only ways he has been punished is being told that Krista killed herself. (In the novel the old Duke does face serious consequences which involved him being murdered along with innocent people after his son attempted a hit on Navier)
But overall you get the message, most of the characters you are supposed to love are men and ladies with no personality, men who do atrocious shit yet we're supposed to look past it and conveniently the only man who is punished is an ugly bastard.
The ladies in waiting are the biggest contributors to the internalized misogyny, often they support it by insisting any new woman who shows up must be an evil whore, even Krista's ladies in waiting do this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not like it matters though anyway since Navier basically wins most of those girls over on her side and they're never seen again
Tumblr media
You see what I mean? Every other woman in this story has little to no character, they exist solely to push the FL up and punch down at any woman they don't like which usually consists of women that either dainty "other girls" or ironically women in a situation similar to Naviers and any woman who opposes Navier is affectly an idiot who gets girlbossed back into place. Meanwhile almost all of the men who commit absolutely horrible acts get away with it since they all essentially go awooga for Navier, with the only exception being less than conventionally attractive dudes like Krista's dad.
for fucks sake even Alan, one of Rashtas other masters who 🍇ed her, got her pregnant and participated in keeping her child away from her until she got successful is viewed as this sorrowful wittle baby who got taken advantage of by the evil Rashta and was "wrongfully" told to screw off by her. It took an episode where Alan was so unfathomably stupid to get readers to realize they shouldn't side with a rapist, and yes, while the narrative will try to push the idea that Rashta took advantage of him to raise her status and that she consented. News flash: a slave cannot consent to someone who owns them, it's like a student-teacher relationship.
Now the hypocrisy. Navier can do one thing and it's viewed as such a girlboss power move but when someone else like Rashta does something similar, it's embarrassing and pathetic. For example, Rashta is mocked by nobles mind you, for wearing an expensive and flashy wedding dress. Meanwhile Naviers wedding dress is literally weaved with thousand of gemstones
Tumblr media
Hey, it's their words not mine.
Or how Rashta was considered evil for stealing Naviers spot as empress (even though Rashta didn't even want to be empress at first and Sovieshu gave her the offer, it's not like she held a gun to his head) but when Krista shows distress over being replaced as queen, the comments basically tell Krista to suck it up because Navier deserves it more. Everytime a man does something wrong in this story, the characters and even the readers trace it back to somehow being a woman's fault.
Readers are even encouraged to laugh at Rashta for not being able to learn as fast and eventually having a breakdown from the stress (not to mention she's also pregnant here so those hormones must be going wild)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah let's just blame a pregnant woman who wasn't educated in reading until a few months ago for not being able to be as smart or stoic as Navier and then crying from the stress.
finally, how this promotion of internalized misogyny affected other works. The Trashta nickname has become so popular that it is used everytime a woman who doesn't support the MC or even just inconveniences her is introduced, constantly the comments never shut up about the "new trashta." Even women who don't mean harm like Helena from kill the villainess was treated horribly because she's the "other woman" it erases any attempt at creativity in these stories and dumbs down any other woman who isn't constantly worshipping the FL as an evil bitch who needs to go.
Conclusion:The Remarried empress isn't the feminist power book with complex characters, maybe in season 1 but not anymore. Women who even think about being rude to Navier are punched down and killed if they don't change their mind while almost all the men are excused for their cruel actions because their hot guys with abs who only wanted to protect the one and only goddess Navier.

If I can make a request for some nsfw headcanons for Duke Kaufman, and Kosair. With the idea of it being there wedding night, and there off on there honeymoon with there shy s/o, only to find out that, even though they are shy and never slept with anyone, they have a very dirty mind.
Gender-neutral reader.
Warnings: dom!reader, bottom!character, penetrative sex (could be any hole), oral (both receiving), jerking character off
Tumblr media
Kosair Trovi
Tumblr media
When you told him to go slow and that it was your first time in that quiet voice, he was totally going to go vanilla
He started by going down on you and looking up at you into your eyes, trying to get you flustered, but the way you were pulling his hair and forcing him to stay down there made him realize something
He was in for the time of his life
Not even 10 minutes later, you had made him cum 3 times just by jerking him off, making him whimper from the overstimulation
Pressing delicate kisses on his tip before sliding it inside your hole, making him moan rather loudly
You were glad that you didn’t have any neighbors on this honeymoon
The next day, you weren’t even as sore as you thought you were gonna be
Instead, his dick felt like it was going to fall off, but despite that, he somehow got morning wood when he woke up, and that started round 2
Tumblr media
Grand Duke Kaufman
He genuinely was a gentle lover, always making sure to prioritize you over anything when it came to any matter whatsoever
However, your mind totally took over when you tied his hands to the bedframe and started sucking the soul out of him, and he was grunting and moaning and trying to get out of the restraints
You were a witch, and he was under your spell
Over the course of that first night, you both came so many times, the sheets were soaked all over
But, you weren’t even close to finished, and you rode him to oblivion, but he still had the energy to thrust up into you
Your moans met his, and you both were in pain as you were both covered in hickies all over your bodies
If you could make sure this honeymoon never ended, then you would have gone through those measures because you both were having the times of your lives
For the entire week that your honeymoon lasted, you both had what could only be called a sex marathon

Imagen the remarried empress meeting a female uzi tengen.
✨I can imagine the uzi being friends with heinley and him inviting her to the new year Ball how would the eastern empire react to the most flamboyant lady they had ever seen.
✨( because they western kingdom is known for its jems I had to make her from there come on its tengen we are talking about his mice even wear a headband like him )
✨In this story she is as tall and strong as tengen maby not as buff as him but instead of her being buff whe have musselar mice to compensate.
✨Imagen their reaction to her family being allowed to marry multiple people because its such a old family tradition and their family is extremely well respected.
✨Totally rattrash not trying to call her a lose woman trying to ruin her reputation because she is has a lot of male suitors and people telling her it's a uzui tradition please respect her and don't mention anything about her suitors or her being a loses woman again.
✨Like her calling rattrash un flamboyant and Duke ergi explaing that she is just like that and then they hear her Compliment navier telling she look flamboyant tonight.
✨Rattrash asking who her husband's are only to find out it's Duke ergi. Duke kaufman and kosiar ( because why not ) and her being mad that uzui stole her" lover "Duke ergi
Tumblr media
Preface: You were the Queen of the Southern Kingdom (completely made up). You were invited to the New Year’s Party on behalf of Navier, but you were close friends with Heinrey since, well, you were married to Duke Ergi. Along with the Duke, you were also married to Duke Kaufman and Kosair as a union between the four kingdoms.
Tumblr media
Sovieshu
He always wondered how you were able to keep so many spouses satisfied, considering he was struggling with Rashta and Navier. So, when the latter told him that she had invited you to the ball, he was relieved.
Everyone knew about your family’s tradition, and it wasn’t frowned upon at all. Sure, it was strange for the king consorts to be called so, but you were the queen through birth and therefore were the only one with power. However, Rashta didn’t know and made a huge deal by calling you a ‘loose woman’ at the party.
Sovieshu was going to step in when you smiled and responded with, “If I’m a loose woman because I have many husbands, then the Emperor must be a soft man in the same regard. Know your place, as that wasn’t very flamboyant behavior, Lady Rashta.”
The entire ballroom was quiet, and not even Sovieshu could reprimand you, considering your muscular and armed mice familiars were waiting outside in case they sensed you were going to be attacked. Duke Ergi explained to you that Rashta was new to the palace, and you gave her a pass. After all, if you stayed stuck in that, who would be complimenting Navier on how flamboyant she looked in her red dress?
Later, you walked up to Sovieshu since Her Imperial Majesty had told you what had been going on in her marriage. You scolded him and told him to get his act together. After all, if you could balance three husbands, he could balance two wives. Or, he could abandon Rashta since he was married to Navier under the eyes of the High Priest and the gods.
Tumblr media
Rashta
She heard your name whispered around the palace as the servants were preparing for the New Year’s Party, and she heard Navier and Sovieshu talking about you as well as an ‘esteemed guest’. For some reason, she never bothered to ask anyone about you.
When she saw you for the first time, you were dressed in a very fancy gown, and you were accompanied by your three husbands. She, not knowing any better, asked if you knew that that made you a loose woman. She grew very uncomfortable when the entire room became quiet.
You just had a smile on your face as you responded, “If that’s the case, then Sovieshu is a soft man in the same aspect. Watch where you tread, Lady Rashta: that wasn’t very flamboyant of you to say that to the Queen of the Southern Kingdom”. She let out a gasp as you revealed who you were.
Kosair and Kaufman were understandably angry that someone could be so stupid, but Ergi explained that Rashta was new to the life of a concubine and so you excused her insolence. After all, everyone made mistakes and could learn from them. Plus, you needed to tell Navier that she looked flamboyant.
Rashta heard you telling Sovieshu an hour later that he needed to stop being stupid and playing favorites between her and Navier. In fact, you told him that the key to a healthy relationship between multiple people is communication and quality time. You even said that if he were to play favorites, he should place Navier above her since he was legally married to her instead of his mistress. This made Rashta angry, but she couldn’t do anything because she had no power against you.
Tumblr media
Navier
She was the one who invited you, noticing that she hadn’t seen you or her brother in a while. After all, you were busy running the Southern Kingdom and spending time with your husbands. She was very excited to see you, though.
Navier, like everyone besides Rashta, was aware of your family’s tradition of polygamy. It wasn’t unusual for monarchs to practice this, but you did it the ‘right way’ and had the consent of your first spouse: her older brother, Kosair. However, when Rashta called you a ‘loose woman’, Navier let out an audible gasp.
You had a smile on your face, and said, “If I’m a loose woman, Sovieshu is a soft man in the same way. Watch yourself, young lady, lest you offend the wrong person. You’re lucky that my dear husband Ergi told me that you might say something like this, so I will give you a pass this time.” Navier let out a breath that she didn’t know she was holding.
Her Imperial Majesty caught your attention, and you made your way over to her and caught up with her. She was glad to see her sister-in-law again, as you served as a leader within her life. She told you about her marital issues, and you were angry. Kosair was angry as well, but you told him that you would deal with it.
Your husbands and your sister-in-law watched as you walked up to Sovieshu and told him that he needed to come to his senses and learn how to manage two spouses. If he needed tips, you would gladly give him some advice. However, you were flabbergasted that he would dare choose Rashta over Navier, especially when he was legally married to the latter and never got her permission to take another spouse.
Tumblr media
Heinrey
You two were good friends since you were married to his friend Ergi. He was one of the best men at the wedding, and you constantly invited each other to each other’s kingdoms. You were on good terms with the King and Queen of the Western Kingdom as well. You both were pretty excited to go to the Eastern Empire’s New Year’s Party in addition to that.
Heinrey knew of your family’s practice of polygamy, since before you married Ergi you were married to Kosair and Kaufman. From what he has seen, you all are in a very happy and healthy relationship. You even trust Ergi to go around and travel, even with his former reputation of being a womanizer. However, when you showed up to the ball, no one expected Sovieshu’s mistress to call you a ‘loose woman’.
This man knew that you were going to say something funny, so he braced himself. You responded with, “And Sovieshu is a soft man in the same regard, but here we are anyway.” The bird-man had to refrain himself from spitting out his drink to laugh.
A few moments later, you caught sight of Navier and let out an exclamation of joy as you rushed to hug Her Imperial Majesty. Heinrey looked over and was absolutely smitten. You ushered him over and introduced the two, where he asked her to dance. From then on, you acted as his wing-woman.
As the two were dancing, you took this opportunity to talk to Sovieshu. You gave him a pep talk about how he needed to get his shit together and treat Navier right. He tried making a crappy excuse, and you told him that you had a healthy relationship with each of your husbands, and therefore he had no excuse. Heinrey caught a few glimpses of the two of you, and had to keep himself from giggling.
Tumblr media
Kosair
When you ascended the throne, you wrote to the Emperor and asked if it would be possible for him to choose a noble that could join you in matrimony as a king consort (think: Men of the Harem), as it would act as a peace treaty between the two kingdoms. The two of you met, and he knew he was in love.
The moment that Navier invited you to the New Year’s Party, you were already married to Ergi and Kaufman as well. Upon arrival, Rashta stepped in your way and asked if you knew that having three men with you could make you a ‘loose woman’. The entire ballroom went silent.
Kosair was just about ready to throw hands with her until you put your hand up to stop him. You smiled, and told the young mistress, “If practicing a family tradition makes me a loose woman, then what does that make your Emperor?” The other nobles in the room had to keep themselves from laughing, and you just moved past her.
You and your husband saw Navier and you walked arm in arm over to her. She was happy to see you both, and gave the two of you a hug. It was then that she told you about how Sovieshu never even asked her about taking on a mistress and she has just had to deal with it.
There was no way either of you would let that stand, so Kosair stayed with his sister and you went to talk to the Emperor. You scolded him to step up and act like a husband to Navier since that was who he was married to. You questioned how he could remain loyal to his empire if he couldn’t remain loyal to his wife by even asking her if it would be okay to take on a mistress. Kosair watched as Sovieshu just looked deflated, ashamed that you made such good points. He deserved much more than a scolding in your husband’s eyes, though.
Tumblr media
Kaufman
You had written to the kingdom of Luipt to send you an eligible bachelor that could possibly serve as your second husband, and Kaufman was sent. Kosair was fine with it, and there was an immediate spark between the three of you. So, the date was set for him to join the two of you in matrimony.
When Navier had invited you to the party, Kaufman was sent an individual invitation, but the two of you were invited on behalf of Her Imperial Majesty. However, what none of you were expecting was for you to be called a ‘loose woman’ by the royal concubine.
Kaufman was absolutely appalled that she had the audacity, but you put a gentle hand on his shoulder. You responded, “In the same regard, Sovieshu is a soft man, is he not? Makes me glad he’s not one of my husbands… oh, wait. He’s not your husband, is he?” The nobles in the ballroom were trying so hard not to laugh.
You led Kosair and Kaufman away towards Navier, while Ergi was left to comfort Rashta since ‘crying at a party isn’t very flamboyant’. The Empress was glad to see you, and she was glad to see her brother. She was also glad that the Grand Duke was present because that meant that trade negotiations could be decided. However, after a few moments, the conversation turned personal as Kaufman told her that she needed to tell Sovieshu to keep Rashta in line.
She told you that she had no power over the mistress because Sovieshu always came to the rescue, and that made you angry beyond belief, along with Kosair and Kaufman, since you and your husbands had a very healthy relationship. So, you had a word with the Emperor, and at the end he looked like a scolded puppy. You went back, and wrapped your arm around Kaufman’s to help you calm down.
Tumblr media
Ergi
You were friends with Heinrey, and you were friends with Ergi in consequence. When you had written to the former about requesting a husband to create a union between the Western and Southern Kingdoms, Ergi was sent. He had no issue with being your third husband, so he joined your band of merry men.
When Navier invited the four of you to the party, Ergi was already acquainted with the royal concubine. He told you that she was new and didn’t know a lot of the royal customs, so you kept an open mind. However, neither of you expected her to call you a ‘loose woman’ for having three husbands.
Ergi was obviously angry that someone would dare call his wife that, but you smiled, and responded with, “So you’re the mistress. Unlike you, I actually have a husband. Actually, three. You have none. From my point of view, you are sleeping with the Emperor without being wed. Are you not then the loose woman?”
The Duke had to calm Rashta down before she did anything that could harm her already not-so-positive reputation, but it was through a scolding and a quick lesson about how your family had a tradition of taking on three spouses rather than one, so as to be sure that you secured an heir. He looked over and saw that you were making your way to His Imperial Majesty.
He heard you scolding the Emperor, saying something about how he needed to learn how to balance two spouses or else there was no way he would be able to balance an entire kingdom along with the two women. Not just that, but his favor should go to Navier because she was who he was married to. That made Rashta even more angry, but Ergi couldn’t help but agree with what you said. After all, you made each of your husbands feel loved while running a kingdom.

The Remarried Empress Krista deserves better
Tumblr media
Notes: *Spoilers for the series *Vent post / Critical *Touches on anti Heinrey and anti Kaufman *One line of Navier critical
So, I just learned that Krista is just as—if not more hated—than Rashta. Like, WOW. Really? Okay, she screwed up by working with Kaufman and trying to blackmail bird shit later, but that’s it. She wasn’t overly antagonistic toward anyone. Even to Navier, the worst she said was, “Sorry, but I can’t be your friend.” She didn’t even try to hurt anyone. Even when Heinry came to her, drugged, all she did was wipe sweat from his face. That’s it. She didn’t even try to kiss him. And it’s made clear she even knew about the love potion; she just followed Kaufman’s orders and waited in a room like he told her too. Again, threatening to blackmail birdshit later was a shit move, but aside from that, she never crossed the moral line, unlike every single one of the protagonists. (We don’t even know if she would follow through or if it was just a desperate bluff.) Yet because of Kaufman—who gets to marry a princess later in the series—and one threat she makes, Krista loses everything.
She loses her family as her father is made to believe she’s dead, and the rest are forced to turn on her to save themselves. Nieces and nephews, whom she doted on, are made to believe she’s a vile woman and insult her name. She loses her status and position in society and is finally isolated for what can be assumed to be forever. And on top of all that, she’s hated by the fandom. Wow, okay.
No, know what? Fuck it. She deserved better. She did wrong, but what she did was just a poke compared to what every other character does, and I am including Navier, who pardons SLAVERS later in the story to boost her rep. Like, if you made a list of all the terrible things the other characters--especially Heinry--did, she would look like a a saint. (If someone actually made that list of everyone's crime, I would love you for it.) But oh! I forgot. She doesn’t have hot abs or goo-goo eyes for the protagonist, so she’s evil, worse than scum, haha—fuck.
Krista was a good queen to her people and loyal to her husband, even though he had several mistresses. She was loving to her family—though NONE of them deserved it—and was even polite to Navier. She never did anything immoral except when she was pushed by Kaufman. And the worst she did was make a threat, which, if we look at her past actions, was most likely an empty threat.
Krista, you deserved better, and everyone else involved with your downfall deserved WORSE.

Sexism in Remarried Empress
I think it goes without saying, Remarried Empress differently has sexism in it. I'd say it's almost hypocritical.
Starting off with Rashta. When I see slanders, It's mainly about her. The literal slave who couldn't refuse being 'the other woman' even if she tried.
However, I do not see enough people shitting on the male characters.
Anyways, fuck Kaufman, Heinrey, Alan, and Ergi.
'You're against the male lead??' Yeah. Lol. I'd talk about Sovieshit in this post but I have an incredible amount of anger towards him that deserves it's own post.
Kaufman's role is just the rejected male lead. He's more or a less a small plot device. I can forgive him a little for punching Sovieshit, but seriously, by giving Heinrey a love potion, without Heinrey's knowledge is uh.... well it's something. Especially how he made Heinrey vulnerable to Krista.
Heinrey is genuinely so flat. Honestly, his fake personality feels a lot like Rashta. I'm getting rather tired of poorly executed personality switch. It always did feel Heinrey was hiding something, but I feel as though he comes off as cartoony, with how he's basically a tripped up plot device.
Alan is a real piece of work, he's a 'good father' and all, but people ignore he was Rashta's abuser, or at the bare minimum allowed her abuse. He got her pregnant and let her see that corpse thinking it was hers. Also I don't think that Rashta could've consented (She was literally his slave) so it's got underlying undertones of SA.
Kosair isn't an antagonist either, but honestly, he's also an issue. I understand he was trying to help Navier, but trying to make Rashta miscarry? That was just wrong. And he also brought up Rashta's slave certificate.
Ergi literally ruined Rashta. Forcing her into tight spaces, exploiting her trust and encouraging her awful behavior and being a seed of paranoia. He uses her all the time, even giving out her information to her father (Who originally sold her into slavery. I want him dead.)
THE VILLAINESSES?
Krista, and Rashta. An abused slave, and a woman who basically went through the same thing Navier did, but I could even say it's worse. Marrying your crush's brother, who then promptly dies, and leaving you to basically fight for your throne. It's a little weird she liked Heinrey, whether that be genuine feelings, or just her coveting the throne.
But something I'd like to note is guess which morally dubious characters die. Rashta and Krista. Both of the antagonizing women who didn't really do anything. It just feels wrong that the only female antagonists are killed. None of the male antagonists/morally grey characters (who most definitely have done worse) It just feels overall sexist both women are able to get killed, but none of the men have to really suffer. It gives me the feeling of Navier vs entire female population.

Helloo it's 📻😈 here and I just wanted to ask of you could do a Kaufman x Gn Reader (Romantic) the content is up to you :))
(Alright, I free-styled this shit!! not proof read cause I ever proof read my works, also this has a bit of my irl memories in it!!)
Tumblr media
With a bowl of spicy soup...
Tumblr media
You neck and head all woozy as you woke up, you knew you had a cold and it was going to be horrible, you honestly expected Kaufman to be in his office and not in the bed still with you, you turn around and slowly shake him awake as he was also very warm and was sweating and shivering you knew what happened; you have a cold he has a fever and now you both are fucked…
As you both snuggled closer to each other, knowing you both were warm on the inside but you both were cold on the outside, you both couldn’t do anything about it only suffer. As Kaufman’s eyes opened a bit, he took a huge sniffle to clear his nose, but in process his head probably started hurting because he groaned and rubbed his forehead before wrapping an arm around and pulling you closer to him, as you rubbed his back, luckily the rays of the sun were quite warm yet just not enough to stop the coldness from swarming you and probably him as well. You groaned as you sat up, nose completely blocked and had boogers as you scrubbed them out annoyed, your chest hurting, back stiff and everything else foggy in your body, hearing your voice, Kaufman grumbled awake, and his throat hurting from the back and voice strained as he also felt the same suffocation…
You both stretched your whole body getting out the sickness fatigue and tiredness and sleepiness from it, as you stood up an elderly maid who served you both on the regular entered a smiled brightly but looking at both of your flushed, sweaty and shivering bodies, she got worried and as she put her hands on both of your foreheads to check your temperature, “You both are burning up, please wait a bit!” she said before leaving to bring some things for you and Kaufman..
She got you both a tray of tea and breakfast and laid the huge tray on the table in your bedroom where sunlight was peeking out, you and Kaufman got out of the bed but the moment you both touched the floor with your feet, you again bundled yourself in the blankets into each other from the cold as you both shivered, the elderly maid or Miss. Shiela was she was called sighed as she left the room and got you both slippers, and thick shawls…
You both covered yourself in the shawls and slippers before sitting on the table, and sighing in delight from the warm rays of the sun hitting your body…Miss Shiela started pouring you both tea, as you started eating, it was quite late, you both didn’t wake up due to the fatigue and thus Miss Shiela came up to not only serve you breakfast but also your lunch…
You both sat there chatting and eating with your sore throats, as Miss Shiela gave you both medicine which tasted horrible, she made sure to check up on you both every once in a while…After during the afternoon, it was starting to get very boring, it felt cold and hot…You both were still in the bedroom, you got as much rest as you both wanted but there was literally nothing to do!!
You both were bored, there was nothing to talk about, nothing to do and trying to do everything to pass the time which would just not pass by! The weather of the empire was very hot and you were very hungry…yet still somehow you wanted something spicy and hot despite much resistance by your beloved, you both sneaked down and into the kitchen where you found Miss Shiela whom scolded you for coming to such a place while being sick she immediately sent you both back, and instead made sure to take your orders to cook you both something..
“But I want to cook!!!”
“But my grace, you’re sick! You can’t go there to the kitchen, your sickness might pass on…I’ll cook!”
“Actually I’m with my darling on thi side, I also want to cook, staying in bed is boring…”
“….ugh…okay, fine, I have a way…Please wait here…”
Miss. Shiela disappeared for an hour before coming to you both, by then it was nearly night when she came to your room with a huge bag, she took you both out on the huge balcony and set up a little stove for you both to cook, she brought you all the ingredients and everything and watched the process of one of you cutting and the other helping with anything else they could do…soon the pot was boiling over with a reddish, spicy soup filled with vegetables, the spicy smell of the soup made you both all the very hungry…
soon it was done, and as you both sat down to eat, you realized you didn’t have a plate yet Miss. Shiela by then was gone to do some of her other duties and you both didn’t want to disturb her, so you both started eating straight from the pot…it was very spicy and probably burnt away all the sins you committed during the week….As you both fed each other the little amount of the soup left, the taste of the spicy chilli, garlic, ginger and other spices tingled your taste-buds through the cold winds of the evening and night as you snuggled closer to each other in the blanket you shared….
Moments of cooking together, eating from the same pot and sharing a blanket all while being sick was very precious as you know you’ll hold it close to you heart…

Characters I hate the most in remarried empress
5:Heinrey
Tumblr media
A lot of people dislike him now for being a cruel bastard to the point of torturing foreign nobles just so he can favor his wife. While that is messed up I'll take that over his constant "UwU my queen~" persona that he displays 90% of the time because at least the former is the remnants of his inital personality. It goes from kind of funny to straight up cringey, I do not see what Navier likes so much about his puppy guise, he's so low because to be fair, he was introduced as a scumbag (kind of), he just spends so much time simping that it's basically tossed to the side
4:Lebetti
Tumblr media
I know a lot of fans say Lebetti is young and can learn better, she's 17 sure but it took her entire family being executed just so she'd be inclined to care about Ian. She's basically a mini me of Lotteshu and when's she not doing that, she's another blind Navier worshipper who is used for as a stand in for the reader, I don't know how fans didn't realize their stand in is a slave owner but I digress. The only reason she's at number 4 is that while I do find messed up she gets to raise Rashtas child and likely feed a biased view of her to Ian, if she really wanted to be evil, she would've let Ian become a slave for his mother's crimes so I guess there's that.
3:Kaufman
Tumblr media
Jesus christ this man is a walking, talking manifestation of second ML syndrome. He's essentially a plot device for no other purpose other than propping up Navier as so beautiful that multiple royal guys want her and so shit can go down , And of course the obvious slipping love potions in others for no other reason then "the plot calls for it", he doesn't even face the consequences. He's fucking creepy as well since he's STILL in love with Navier even after she's married and pregnant GET OVER IT MAN! In the end he just gets with Charlotte (Kosairs ex fiancé) so writting wise: his whole "nice guy" problems can be solved
2:Alan
Tumblr media
I really just have a personal vendetta against the whole Rimwell family. The moment I lost all hope in remarried empress is when I was expected to sympathize with a rapist. The narrative wants readers to believe Alan was wronged even though he was the one to participate in keeping Ian away from Rashta until she got rich, even though it was HIM who decided to abandon Rashta after she wanted to run away with him. Yeah he's a good father so what? Wow! A dad actually raising his kid how amazing, it's almost like that's called the bare minimum. The moment he tried to say that Ian deserved to be treated like a prince because he was Rashtas son is when the comments finally saw him for what he was, he makes up for all this by getting executed in the end
1:Laura
Tumblr media
Your probably wondering out of all these scumbags, why is a random side character on top? Well, the characters below at some point had personality traits that made then complex characters in the past or they did something to make up a little for it making them a tiny bit more tolerable. Laura however has never once shown any signs of any other personality other than "Your majesty! Your so wonderful and the best! That slave needs to know its place around you!" At least all Naviers other ladies in waiting have some sort of gimmick to them or in rare cases they have other stories going on with just them. Laura's gimmick is that she is willing to hit a slave for Navier even if said slave made a genuine mistake and isn't used to palace intrigue. Her face pisses me off everytime I look at it and everytime she speaks it's never anything besides love for the leads and hatred for anyone against Navier. she needs to get off her glazing and go back to bullying Cinderella with her evil stepsister design she's got.
Anyway let me know if there's any other manhwa/comic to rant about because I'm sure everyone's probably tired of me bitching about remarried empress

Chapter One: Garden
From outside the room, you could hear the quiet mumble of the voices of the maids, their dainty steps against the floors. You could also hear the chirping of birds, and the voices from the staff outside the manor. All were indicators that the day had indeed begun, but you wouldn’t open your eyes yet. Choosing instead to bask in your peace, hoping to be able to savor those few moments where you were no one and the world couldn’t bother you.
The sunlight streamed through the windows, the rays of the sun streaming inside the manor, filling it with the golden haze that comes with the sun, basking in golden the lavish furniture and the marble floors.
The curtain from the bed was pushed to the side, the sunlight from the windows streamed through the opening, hitting your face and making you open your eyes. You squeezed them while rising, resting on your elbows and turning to the side.
“Good morning, my lady.” The maid by the side of the bed bowed, the ones behind her did the same. “It is time to wake up.”
Elli, one of the maids, grabbed a towel, basking it in a basin full of water before helping you clean your face. Other maids helped you stand up, bringing trays with food and drink. They helped you undress, getting the nightgown off of you and dressing you back into new clothing for the day. They brushed your hair and helped you get ready for the day.
This was how most of your days would begin. The maids would come in, rising you from your slumber and back to the routine that was your day-to-day life.
You were used to it, to the routine. To the way, most events would repeat themselves through the week, and once again happen the next, and the next one after that. It was part of your life, of who you were. You still couldn’t help but wonder about more and yearn.
- What dress will you wear today, my lady? Will you like the blue one? - The weather is lovely, it's sure to be sunny for the rest of the day - what do you wish to eat today? I will notice the chef immediately. – The marquis sent a letter, my Lady. They said they will be back in a few weeks. - The voices of the maids surrounded you while they dressed you. One tied the blue lace of the dress while the other talked, and you were in the middle of their swarm.
Before long, you were parting from the manor. You told the butler your indications for the day and got on the carriage for your leave.
----------------------------------------
“Did you hear that Lord Kosair is in a relationship? I’m so jealous!”
A group of noble ladies chattered in one of the gardens of the palace. The young women talked, waving their fans and giggling under their flowery sunhats. The long winter had finally faded, and everyone wanted to rejoice in the so waited spring. The young ladies were no exception.
“Ugh, yes, I heard that. There go any of my chances with him,” said one of the ladies, getting her blonde hair out of her face before continuing talking. “I guess I will have to find myself some company in the ball next week.”
“Some company? Why not better one pretender?”
“One?”
The ladies laughed loudly, covering their smiles behind hands and fans. They continued laughing and joking about noblemen while you listened, laughing occasionally.
You enjoyed talking with the ladies during your free days. Their company was amusing, a welcomed change to the usual quietness of the manor and the boredom of most of your days. It was a nice way to spend the sunny days of spring.
You were deep in thought when someone called your name.
“What about you? Are you going to go hunting in the ball, too?” the blonde smiled at you, the other ladies also watching with expecting smiles in their faces.
“Um, no, no.” you smiled sheepishly, “I don’t think I will… It is not my kind of thing, I guess,” you laughed at that, albeit a little awkwardly.
“Oh, well, I guess that means more for us. Isn’t that right, ladies?” the blonde asked, a flirtatious smirk appearing on her face. The ladies giggled at that, looking mischievously at each other.
“Well, do not forget to wear your best dresses. I’m sure that it is going to be a fruitful night for us.”
“Oh, yes, I heard that foreign visitors would be attending.”
“Is that so? Pray tell, who are they?”
“Well, there is...”
The chatter continued for some time after that. With all the ladies sharing their excitement over the ball and discussing their dressings. Before long, you were all splitting up, each continuing with your day before the sun set.
You looked around the palace as you walked. You didn’t have any urgent matters to attend to today, so you could surely take a rest before returning home. With that in mind, you walked towards your destination.
The garden was a quiet place, as always. The leaves of the trees were greener than you had seen them, the flowers bloomed and the daffodils danced to the gentle sways of the wind.
It was a beautiful day. The sky was lively, with some white clouds dispersed across the blue. The sun shone in the endless sky, shining brightly giving you blissful warmth from above. You sighted upon feeling the welcomed warmth on your skin and looked around.
The gardens of the palace were of your favorite places. Filled with stunning greenery that made you feel like you were in a forest, the garden was like a paradise for you. The plants and the flowers transmitted calmness to you, and you would constantly seek solace there.
Even though the gardens were beautiful, they were quite lonely. There were other open gardens, much bigger and with splendid views, those were much more visited. This one had turned into a secondary one, almost forgotten, with visits being either lonely people who wished to enjoy their solitude, or couples that looked for privacy for their affections. You were one of the former, the quietness allowed you to think in peace. You would always go there to clear your mind and appreciate the view.
You walked along the path and observed. This was a favorite part of yours, with tall trees and bushes, some flowers were speckled here and there too, with yellows, pinks, and reds dancing in your periphery. There were little sounds apart from the distant cries of birds and the whispers of the wind between the branches.
You stopped walking past some bushes when you heard it. A quiet, pitiful sound that would have been imperceptible if not for the silence. You turned, contemplating the sound before walking towards the bush. You peeked, if ever so slowly, and discovered a blue spot among the sea of daffodils.
A little bird was writhing on the ground; the poor thing was the source of the pitiful cries. Its wings were sprawled, moving when it jerked and turned. You walked some steps closer, beyond the bush, and kneeled. Dirt stained your dress, and the daffodils protested your movements. Still, you moved closer, lowering your hands, and with the most care you could, grabbed it and raised it from the ground. The bird shrieked at first but calmed after a few seconds. You took the chance to inspect it closely.
At first glance, it looked fine. If it was just based on its looks, its healthy blue feathers and plump body may have fooled you. Yet, a closer look revealed the problem, you saw how one of its wings rested lower, languidly.
Its wing was broken. That alone could prove to be fatal. A bird with a broken wing was helpless against predators and unable to feed itself, simply helpless. Even, if it had hit one of the windows or walls nearby and fallen down the hit could have caused internal damage. Leaving it here meant a guaranteed death. The only way for the bird to make was for it to go with you.
But, did you know how to treat it? You had some knowledge of birds, but one thing was reading about it and another doing it. It felt more pressuring knowing that what you did would have a consequence on an actual living thing.
But the thing was, the bird had no other options besides you. It needed your help, and it needed it now. There was no time to hesitate, you would have to act now. There would be plenty of time to doubt yourself later.
With a newfound resolve, you stood up with the bird in your arms. You could run towards one of the carriages, and once you were home you would be able to start helping. So you turned around and started sprinting, looking down at the bird and checking on it. You were about to raise your head when you crashed, hitting your head harshly, giving some backward steps before you lose your footing and started falling. A solid, firm wall had appeared on your way, from where you didn’t know, but it didn’t matter now. You really hoped your dress would soften the fall, it would really--
You hadn’t hit the ground yet.
Instead of the cold, harsh ground, you felt warmth enveloping you, holding you in place. You slowly opened your eyes, and what you weren’t expecting was a pair of clear eyes greeting your own. The confusion quickly turned to realization.
You didn’t hit a wall – oh, no - you hit the chest of a man. A tall one at that. A tall man that was holding you in place, holding you pretty close to him.
You forgot how to breathe, you didn’t move, you didn’t even think because you didn’t know how to function anymore. Time had seemed to stop in that instant.
Your eyes were set in those clear ones, – silver, you realized – and you couldn’t move your gaze. His eyes looked right back at you, seemingly looking so deep they might as well be seeing your soul. You couldn’t look away, you didn’t wa ---
There was rustling against your chest and your gaze was directed to it. When you looked at it, you snapped out of the daze.
'The bird!'
Thoughts came back to you and with them, the awareness of your… position. You pushed yourself quickly out of his hold.
“I’m…I’m so sorry! I-I didn’t mean to hit you!” You gave a quick bow to show you were sorry and hoped that the stranger understood your clumsiness. Yet, the man stared at you with an expression of surprise and heat rose to your cheeks. You could only hope your face wasn’t as red as you felt it was. You gave another hasty bow and passed the man, rushing to the nearest carriage you could find.
----------------------------------------
Thankfully, your arrived quickly at your home and started attending to the poor bird.
With care, you cleaned the bird, looking for injuries. You were lucky because apart from its wing, nothing else seemed to have problems. You checked the bird as one of the books suggested, and everything was well. Its eyes were normal, nothing was bleeding and apart from the shock, everything hinted that she was well.
You wrapped a cloth around her wing and body, immobilizing the injured wing, and placed it on a cushion on your bed. It hadn’t moved yet, and wouldn’t do so in some hours, so for the moment, it was alright to leave it alone. You still had to search for a place to accommodate her, and you had the right thing in mind.
You rummaged through your room, looking inside your closet and under tables until you stopped in front of your bed. You knelt down and placed your arm under the bed, moving your arm left and right until you felt the iron bars in your hand. Once you had grabbed it, you pulled it out, small clouds of dust rising with it. Even though it had been there for a long time, the cage looked in good shape.
When you were much younger than now, you had gotten this cage with the intention to start raising a bird of your own. You had read more than a dozen books about birds in your preparation for raising one. You were incredibly excited about it and waited for the day you could get one. You thought that if you had a little companion with you, your days at the manor would be a little less lonely.
Your parents were quick to put the notion away. You still remembered what they had said. They couldn’t have you distracted from your studies by some ‘pesky, parasite-ridden beast'.
So the idea of ever having a bird, (or even a pet of any other kind) was thrown away.
You cried profoundly after that, not even the maids were able to comfort you, and you felt down for the next month or so. But maybe it was for the better. Your younger self, no matter how enthusiastic, wouldn’t have been able to care for a bird. Thinking that didn't push the bitterness of the memory away, though.
You interrupted the memory by calling a maid, asking her for some old newspapers. You watched the cage again, smiling faintly.
Even after the harsh denial, you had kept the hope that one day you could have a feathery companion. You had kept the cage for many years and even brought it with you after moving from the march almost two years ago. It seemed that it was worth keeping the hope because you had one now. Even though it wasn’t under the best of circumstances.
When the maid came in with the newspapers, you thanked her and asked her to prepare you a bath. You put the papers on the bottom of the cage, and with care, placed the bird on the center of it. You moved the cage to the warmest spot in the room, one that was close to the window. You put a cloth over the cage, hoping that it would help with the bird’s shock.
The maid came back at that moment to tell you that your bath was ready. You checked for the last time that the bird was fine, and walked to the bathroom. You took off your clothes and gave them to the maid, and once you were alone, entered the bathtub.
You submerged yourself in the warm water. The smell of the essences allowed your body to relax and you rested your head against the tub. A sigh escaped your mouth, and you started to clean yourself.
The water swayed with your movements, and your mind started to relax, as well. Your thoughts wandered over to the preparations of today. You weren’t particularly excited about the party. But an opportunity to expand your social circle was something it was better to take advantage of. Getting to talk with people you usually didn’t sounded good, as well. Maybe you could see some new faces in there.
Thinking about new faces, you remembered the stranger you met today. Or more like, the one you crashed against.
‘He was so handsome.'
Blood rushed to your cheeks, what were you even thinking? You splashed some water into your face, embarrassed at your own thoughts. You tried to remember if you knew of any noble with the stranger's appearance, but none seemed to match. Besides, you were sure you could not forget eyes like those.
You submerged your face in the water, that should help the heat in your cheeks.
You stepped out of the tub and once you had dried yourself, dressed in more comfortable clothing. You got back to your room and checked the little bird. It seemed to be resting on the center of the cage, its breathing was calm and even.
You looked at a chair that was by the window, it looked very cozy, so you grabbed a book nearby and sat down. You read through the pages until your gaze wandered to the window nearby. The sky was a lively shade of blue, and you watched some birds in the distance, flying high under the shining sun. You smiled to yourself, it was a beautiful day.

Webnovel panels with two of the male romance interest is so funny to me because it's obvious that the illustrator meant for it to show tension but instead it comes off as somewhat homoerotic

💐Imagine female douma being isekai'd in the the word of the remarried empress but douma reader became royalty.
🌈She became royalty after the empress and emprorr adopted her because of a high priest told them that her parents died (like in the comic douma's mother killed her husband and mistresses after finding out her cheated of her then ended herself ) and the high priest believed that she was a child giftd by God so allowing her to become anything lower than a lady would be a insult to the gods.
💐Her being a manipulatieve girl who doesn't know emotions until she met navier then she became happy for the first time.
Tumblr media
(This picture disribes douma pretty well)
💐(like they also grew up together with navier and sovieshu but had to wear a vail to cover up her face because the empress and emprorr believed she was a child giftd by God so she was only allowed to show her face after she became the empress but after a lot of asking navier was the only person who was alowd to see her face )
🌈Imagine after years she became a empress and was invited by navier to te new years party and navier and sovieshu seeing her after a long time and then rattrash trying to befriend her only to meet her worse nightmare a angry douma who hates mistresses because they are filthy and unworthy of her and navier.
💐(like the female douma was always being told she was a goddess but she knew it's not true but she just went with it and used it to her advantage )
🌈And burning the party where she tells navier she is alowd to take of her veil after the dress drama to get the negative attention away from navier because people get to see her face for the first time and after hearing rumours about her face and why she wore it now they understand why she got called a goddess.
💐(imagine navier and the douma reader dancing together 2 beautiful empress dancing together making people jealous about their beauty and status )
🌈Honestly douma's eyes are the most beautiful eyes and I know she can out drama rattrash because douma learnd to copy emotions she never had so imagine rattrash trying to use her crocodile tears again her but failing so hard because of douma's manipulatieve personality and her being able to figure out she was not really crying and because of sovieshu becoming a simp for douma him not beleving rattrash

I showed my mom that picture and she said, “Oh hell no”.
As a preface, I’m changing up the request a bit. Reader was taken in by the High Priest, but since he is so busy the Imperial Family offered to raise her. She was raised alongside Sovieshu. We’re gonna forget that Krista exists and you were betrothed to King Wharton III (Heinrey’s brother).
Tumblr media
Sovieshu was technically your adopted brother. His parents took you in because the High Priest asked, and who wouldn’t want to get on his good side? Plus, he said that you were a gift of the gods. If the Imperial Family had the chance to care for a child of the gods, they were going to take it.
He always knew that you were apathetic, what with not crying at funerals or rejoicing at weddings. No. Sure, he couldn’t see your expressions because of your veil, but he can read your body language just fine. He somewhat admired your ability to fake emotion through your body.
At some point, he developed a crush on you. You weren’t related at all, and you weren’t legally his sibling. The sad realization that you both were going to marry other people hit him like a truck. Someone else would be able to gaze upon your face, and it wasn’t going to be him.
When Navier invited you to the New Year’s Party, Sovieshu was excited. Sure, a lot has happened since you last saw each other, but surely you would be happy for him? Wrong. You, in fact, called him ‘a piece of trash for treating Navier like his father treated his mother’. He couldn’t even see your face, but he could feel the disgusted look you were giving him.
Speaking of tea being spilled, Sovieshu saw how you gracefully made your way to the dance floor. That is where you finally revealed your face. The Emperor watched as his wife walked up to you and asked for a dance. He had to admit that he was incredibly jealous that it wasn’t himself dancing with you.
Tumblr media
Rashta has heard about you. It was hard not to. Your reputation precedes you as a ‘child of the gods’. Everyone knew about you, and everyone knew that you had never shown your face to the public. From the looks of it, you didn’t even show either the Emperor or Empress (the latter part wasn’t true, though).
She eavesdropped on one of Sovieshu’s and Navier’s supposed-to-be-private conversations and they were reminiscing about you. She was jealous because it seems as though the Emperor missed you the most. She quickly corrected herself because she didn’t want to offend the gods.
She asks around the palace to try and gather information about you. She is very curious, and most of the servants as well as visiting nobles seem to have good things to say about you. They really worshiped you as though you were a goddess yourself.
When she finds out that Navier invited you to the New Year’s Party, she was excited. What she did not expect was for you to be introduced as the Queen of the Western Empire or for you to completely ignore her and Sovieshu and go straight to Navier. In fact, when you did get introduced to each other, your first statement was ‘I know who you are’.
Rashta watched as you and Navier walked hand-in-hand to the dance floor. You both danced so beautifully. Then, the Empress gently lifted your veil. You smiled as everyone gasped. The young mistress was angry that all the attention was off of her and onto you. As you and Navier walked off the floor, you looked in Rashta’s direction, gave a little pout, and used a finger to signify a tear falling down your face.
Tumblr media
Navier was introduced to you when she was handpicked by the Emperor to marry Sovieshu. Everyone has heard of the Imperial Family volunteering to care for the child that the High Priest deemed a ‘child of the gods’, so she was excited to meet you.
The four of you (you, Navier, Sovieshu, and Kosair) became close as children. You were betrothed to the (then) Crowned Prince of the Western Kingdom, Prince Wharton III. As a child, Navier was saddened at the prospect of you having to move such a long distance away. In private, you took off your veil and showed her as a seal to the promise that you both would remain close no matter what.
She knew about Sovieshu’s and Kosair’s crushes on you. She harbored no romantic interest in Sovieshu, so she was completely fine with it. In fact, she tried to push either one into confessing. No dice. At least you both stayed true to your promise and you wrote to each other quite frequently.
She always invited you to every New Year’s Party, but every single time your husband was sickly and you couldn’t attend. However, when you wrote to her saying you would be able to come, she was delighted. She sent a servant to tell her husband about the news as she got prepared for the party.
During said party, you noticed that the dress drama was getting to Navier, so you had a suggestion. You both would dance and she would lift your veil to reveal your face. The floor was cleared for the two of you, and you both danced gracefully. In the middle, Navier gently removed your veil as you smiled. She was shocked to see how much you had grown, but so glad she could see your beautiful eyes again.
Tumblr media
Heinrey was your brother-in-law. You were betrothed to his older brother from a very young age, and when you both got married he noticed how you actually won the love of the people with hard work and dedication. You ruled with a stern fist, and he respected that about you.
He was aware that the marriage between you and his brother was one of convenience, but not of union. You weren’t a child of the Eastern Empire, so you couldn’t unite the two countries. However, it was more of an act of goodwill, what with you being a child of the gods.
You treated him like a younger brother, but there was no emotion behind any of your actions. You did what made sense, what was most logical. You told him stories of your childhood in the Eastern Empire and of Navier, Sovieshu, and Kosair. It was then that he grew a fascination towards the Empress.
You were both invited to the New Year’s Party, but the invitations were a cause of laughter between you, your husband, and Heinrey. You were invited on Navier’s behalf, Heinrey was invited on Sovieshu’s behalf. Once arrived, the Crowned Prince of the Western Kingdom just awkwardly stood there (simping over Navier) while you gave the Empress a hug. You didn’t even bother to acknowledge the Emperor or his mistress.
Later on in the evening, the dance floor was emptied. Heinrey watched as you and Navier walked step-by-step towards each other until you met in the middle. The way you danced was as graceful as flowing water in a peaceful river. In the middle of the dance, she lifted your veil to reveal your face. It was the first time the Prince saw your face at all, let alone seeing pure joy being expressed by you. Did his Queen have the same effect on you?
Tumblr media
Bonus: Kosair was introduced to you when Navier was handpicked by the Emperor to marry Sovieshu. All the noble families knew how the Imperial Family took you in and volunteered to raise you in place of the High Priest. Even though he already hated the Prince, he had to admit that he was excited to meet you.
He never noticed your apathetic personality because you were really good at faking your emotions through your voice and your body language. He wasn’t permitted to see your face, so he wasn’t able to see your expressions. However, he probably wouldn’t have noticed the fake smile you always wore.
You were a marvel to him. Even without seeing your face, you made him fall in love with you. When the news came that you were betrothed to the Crowned Prince of the Western Kingdom, he was devastated. Navier had to hold him back from doing anything that could tarnish the family’s reputation.
After the Imperial Family’s New Year’s Party, you had written to Kosair saying that you were in-town and would love to see him before you had to go back home. Once he had received the letter, he was in the palace the next day. He asked to be led to your chambers and you gave him a hug upon seeing him. You spent the majority of the day just catching up.
It was then where he confessed the feelings he had harbored for you for years. You, not really feeling anything, faked your sadness. You explained that if you had known sooner, you would have fought all you could so that you could marry him instead of your actual husband. Great job, Y/N. You made him mentally beat himself up even more.
Tumblr media
Bonus: Grand Duke Kaufman was introduced to you formally while he visited the Western Kingdom. However, like everyone else, he has previously heard about you and your connection to the gods. It intrigued him, to say the least. It’s not like every Imperial Family raises a child for the High Priest.
He had also heard how you ruled your Kingdom with a string and firm hand, leading your subject with wisdom beyond your years. You often had to step in place of the King, and you did it well. When he visited to talk about negotiations between Luipt and the W.K., you knew his language. He was both shocked and not.
Your words were calculated and you evaluated every option and their consequences. You both had decided that it was smarter to wait and negotiate with the Eastern Empire than to make a decision presently. That was when the messenger came in with 3 invitations for you, Kaufman, and Heinrey to go to the New Year’s Party.
At said party, the Grand Duke was surprised at how you only paid attention to the Empress rather than greeting the Emperor. In fact, the latter was also shocked. You called both Sovieshu and his mistress the ‘lowest of the low’ and told them how they should be ashamed of themselves.
Later on in the evening, Kaufman noticed how everyone vacated the dance floor. The music changed to a nice waltz, and you and Navier were the only ones in the center of the room. As you both danced, the Empress gently lifted your veil. He had never seen someone so beautiful, and it made him a tinge jealous of your husband. No wonder you were said to be a deity.
