Yes! There's also a podcast that's some early stories called The New Albion Radio Hour: Astonishing Tales of the Highly Improbable! But that can probably be listened to post albums. (It's a podcast version of the Posthuman Playhoues book, but with very fun intros/outtros that add to it)

And... Let me grab the Updated Chart (<- for a bigger view) from the NADS discord for listening. It's a lot, but it's great, I'll give how I listened after the chart bc I went through it an unconventional way just out of "What would I like to listen to more, then I'll get to the rest."

The way I went into it was New Albion Tetralogy -> The Ballad of Lost Hollow -> Uncle Raven’s Storytime Theater Never Never Land (this is on Bandcamp, it’s an 18 min track) -> Han Mi’s Punk fairytales -> The 2nd Posthuman War. Then I listened to the rest here and there afterwards. The podcast came in there somewhere pre 2nd Postie War, it’s about all the Posties from The 2nd Posthuman War and how they came to be together in the early days! Very fun to hear how everyone was back in the day.

(I listened to Dolls of New Albion years ago without knowing there was more to the albums. Then I fell in at the beginning of this year again)

I also listened to Early Works: Adams Arc (Shadows and Flames my beloved it’s so good) These are on Bandcamp as well. Each album/arc/etc has their own Theme and such and it’s all very fun to hear and fit into what the theme is.

Now let’s get down to describing.. what it is in the fictional sense.

The main thing about the Shaperaverse is that... it’s a metaverse, everything in connected in some way. There’s reaccuring characters and themes, reincarnation, lost memories, gay people, and all that jazz, all the albums have their Narrators. Aka. A Posthuman. What’s a Posthuman? Basically people who have transcended the confines of their own narratives and can directly interact with their own and other narratives. They can mold and shape them, “you coax the narrative” to change it in certain ways. I’m not going to get too deep, that’s what the wiki is for afterwards.

But basically, it’s storytelling music in the vein of The Mechanisms (Paul was a voice in Terminus! Lost my mind when I found that out) And it’s very fun, funny, it can be sad and it rips at my heart sometimes, especially with the characters I don’t shut the hell up about. It’s a lot to take in at the start, but honestly imo it’s great and worth the listening. Almost everything is on Spotify, you can listen on Bandcamp as well, probably youtube as well.

And if you're a new listener, you can jump right into things with The Puppetshade Chronicles with The Black Beyond and The Lost Kingdom (and The Foul City coming out 1/12/24) that's currently out now! A bit of a soft reset, set some time in the future from the end of the last era with The Posthuman Cabaret

OK PUPPETSHADES 3 IS ON BANDCAMP AND I WAS THERE FOR THE PREMIERE AND IT WAS SO GOOD IT WAS FCKING AMAZING, ITS ALL IVE LISTENED TO SINCE SUNDAY

(SPOILERS BELOW, BEWARE)

*gets out chalk and furiously writes out my points then I point at them with my collapsible pointer so excitedly I nearly break it every time*

POINT 1: THE CHARACTERS

LOWEN. LOWEN IS MY NEW FAVORITE CHARACTER GUYS

she’s so interesting and I could write a post entirely about her, you can see she also cares deeply for Yery but is so hesitant because she’s been betrayed and rightfully afraid. When the time comes for her to make a choice of her or Yery she chooses Yery because it’s that fight or flight kill or be killed mentality that has been drilled into her so much for so long that it’s the purpose of her entire being. to survive.

also I love their romance! Nearly everyone in the premiere chat loved Yery’s new crime girlfriend (though we all knew it was too good to be true)

ok I think that’s all my ramblings about Lowen and Yery (or Lowery) before they hijack the post so onto Brother Bowelz!

Oh my gosh Bowelz was so fun, Pietro KILLED it as Brother Bowelz and I loved the chorus to the song so much. I was so excited whenever his and his Calamity Crews’ motif was played.

(everything after this has been written like a couple weeks after this, so not as fresh but ifs still me yapping about act 3)

In all seriousness though I LOVE Yery in this album, I am so happy his character was expanded on after Cery’s death and Skyler dropping him off in the middle of nowhere. Also Oliver Marsh was [I don’t even have the words to describe how great of a singer he is he is just AMAZING] SO GOOD, so happy he got his own album where he can just sing his heart out.

POINT 2: THE MUSIC

like always the instrumentals and backing tracks for these albums are PHENOMENAL, everything false so perfectly into place and it’s just MMM it just sounds good.

I don’t really know how to end this post, I can tell I had more to say but I don’t quite remember it all. I’m sure it will come to me later though, stay tuned to more ramblings about how much I love Paul’s music and lore!
