it's kinda funny to me how punch out of all things has probably had the most welcoming fandom on tumblr (not in general but for me personally). out of everything out there, i didn't expect the game where a high schooler beats up adult men that could (and sometimes try to) kill him to havea fandom i felt so comfortable posting in, but here i am 😳 not trying to make a sappy post or anything, just an observation i had

#ymgb rambles #i don't think ive ever made as many original posts for a fandom as i have with PO lmao 😭 and thats saying something cuz ive only been-#- in the fandom for a few weeks #it helps that there's not a ton of characters and also every character is memorable in some way so everyone has fans #plus everyone seems excited to see more fan content of their fave guys no matter what it is #its like the 'holy shit two cakes' thing and i LOVE that #also this isn't really related but i had a realization yesterday #the punch out wii artstyle is kind of what i've been trying to go for with my own artstyle?#i try to have properish anatomy & proportions while also keeping it kinda cartoony and powii's artstyle is literally that #ive gotta say that its SO refreshing fixating on something where everyone has a unique face. drawing punch out characters has-#-taught me more about how to use shapes when drawing people than school art classes ever did #(and im not fully joking!)
