At some point I need to do something about transport within traditional Erinaen colonies because yes they do have have ways of getting larger numbers of goods and people who can't get themselves somewhere to places.

A hint: It tends to involve a lot of smaller carit and pulley systems which thankfully in the modern age can be machine powered because at first contact they were still running those things by hand.

#the problem is that at it's smallest the distance from the top of a colony to the bottom is line 125 feet #which is totally workable with a pulley system with a bit of finagling #but at their largest they're the distance is like 450 feet which in the treetops is a bit of a fucking way #mostly people just try not to move more than they can carry at one time but sometimes that's not an option #sometimes there's emergencies or large goods or building materials or machines or people who can't climb that need moved around #the pulley systems can handle larger loads and get to more areas more easily #but the carit are faster safer and usable in all weather #it's a balancing act
