#the protagonist isn’t necessarily gendered any way in the album but i kinda just view her as a woman due to Volcano

from what i understand Soundtracks For The Blind was kinda imagined as the soundtrack for a film. i get that there are a lot of more personal themes to the album (i.e. gira and jarboe’s relationships with their parents) but am i the only one who has an imagined “plot” to the movie?
here’s the outline i wrote at 2am last week:
Protagonist lives with abusive parent(s) (I Was A Prisoner In Your Skull, Helpless Child)  who use her as a scapegoat for their own problems. She runs away and joins a cult out of desperation (Live Through Me, Yum-Yab Killers), and witnesses and experiences physical and sexual violence and exploitation within the cult (The Beautiful Days, Volcano, All Lined Up). She begins to confront the possibility of growing old in this cult (How They Suffer), and begins wishing for the god they believe in to give her an opportunity out (Animus), which eventually comes after the leader’s death (Red Velvet Wound). However, after she escapes she turns to drugs (Her Mouth Is Filled With Honey, Blood Section) and impulsive sexual relationships (Hypogirl) to cope with her trauma. However, she comes to realize that she is unsatisfied (Minus Something), and that both her views and her parent’s views on how to live her life were unsatisfying. After running out of money she moves back in with them, still finding them equally as terrible as before (Empathy, YRP), and begins to turn to the god of the cult she was in, drinking the blood of the now-deceased leader in an attempt to be possessed by him (The Final Sacrifice), and killing her parents  (YRP 2) in hopes of being satisfied by the sacrifices as the leader claimed to be. However, she finds herself then with neither her parents nor her god by her side, and is left unsatisfied (Surrogate Drone).
