i wanted. to make him an astral duo costume . i plan to make him a beach one too in the future when i have the energy. but i cant keep procrastinating finalizing his actual normal outfit . but its just so fun to draw him . so heres euri in the thralls of astral duo
ill keep my rambling about design choices for this under the cut ♫
his outfit just pulls elements both from kuyas & quincys . mostly because im not great at coming up with costumes and while studying theirs, what started as "i'll use a white/black balance!" turned into "i really like this midnight/gold combination". he also already utilizes some gold and midnight themes in his story / standard character design, so i ended up sticking to it
aside from that he doesnt actually have two tails .. thats just thanks to the moons. euri's struggle ends up sitting more in the realm of combatting his history (bordering on amnesiac tbh) & more literally that his human and tiger form split during the eclipse. though they dont create two physical forms, his transformations get really intense and unstable!
he's stuck literally just resisting the urge to act without thinking. constant, reckless and harmful naivete and impulse & back-and-forths with the presence and voice of his tiger form (which manifests his actual history) vs. his human self (the current-day him, who he feels "closer" to). so i played into it with lots of imbalance on his outfit—like the double vs. split leg garters, only one glove, asymmetrical arm belts, etc !
his coat pulls a lot of tiger/leopard prints . hes a youkai/youjuu himself (learned that latter term from some people speculating about the original word in the japanese sub. i love it) and did you know i literally did not know about sooley or leogers when i made him? (hadnt gotten to that point in the story). i just wanted the theme of cheetahs/leopards (because i was thinking about those nervous cheetahs with anxiety?) & the tiger was just "damn. ive never had a tiger character!"
anyways. that made it really fun, realizing that i dont think leogers are native to the wood territory? or at least i cant tell/remember.
ok im rambling off topic on i gotta shut up this is what character pages or toyhouses are for

I told someone I'm an artist and she asked what I thought about ai taking over the art world. My answer is that I don't find it problem because I think- let people who appreciate it use or buy it. I can't really have an actual opinion because I don't appreciate it. I dont appreciate machine made things as much as hand made, I don't appreciate when artists sell prints of their paintings and I don't even appreciate acrylic as much oil because I see it as a fake not as good copy. Like a lab grown diamond ring. I don't like not as good copies when I can have the real thing. But there are people who don't care. They don't care if their dress came from shein or ally express. And as a seller I would 2100 shekel a month to live alone
She said it's OK to come those few days late
I do volunteering for perach and get more money, or volunteering for kibbutz and have to pay bnei akiva
140 hours for the year
She said to not wait
It's
I'm not interested in creating art that's hyper realistic. I'm interested in making art that gives me the chills. Where I have this weird sense of ruach hakodesh. That I want to cry and a shiver runs down my spine when I do something right. When I have the idea. When I capture something. That's what I go for.
Maybe hashem gave me doron not because I'd like him, but because he did. But did I do what I was supposed to do? What was I supposed to do with doron. Why did I meet him.
Maybe that's what it means when hashem gave us the torah. He gave us the most important thing
Gift
Doron was a gift I couldn't receive. It wasn't for me to receive, I wasn't the right address.
Hi ezra, it's dalya friedman. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your work and setting up events for us. Honestly this year I felt really alone in Jerusalem, and I had only Israeli friends which is great but i didnt feel like i had a community. Going on the tzippori shabbaton and the Thursday trip allowed me to meet people who understand me from the get- go. I just think that not everyone who deserves a written out thank you gets one, and I wanted for you and your family to have a reminder how much what you do makes a difference because I'm sure along the way there might have been sacrifices. So thank you and everyone around you for providing a platform where we can have a good time and enjoy all the beautiful things about Judaism without judgement or strings. Without that, I think a lot of people including myself would having a hard time sticking around both in Israel and in a relationship with hashem.
U need to know yourself and who u are. And once u know that u r a good person, u start treating people according to who u are, not who they are. I'm not a person who argues back. I'm a person who treats people with dignity.
I was angry. I was angry about being in the hospital all alone for hours. Where they asked me if I had anyone to be with me at the moment. I was angry that my parents weren't there to be with me making all the nurses crazy cuz that's what parents do. I had to do a CT alone. I had to do the stitches alone.

sorry if you’ve answered this before but can i ask what ur process is for making stickers? i would love to make my own but i never understood how ppl make them independently outside of using sites like redbubble where they print/ship the stickers for you ^^; do you order batches through stickermule or a similar site? or is there a way to produce them at home?
Yes! There is a way to produce em at home but I feel i dont make enough stickers that wld sell really really well to justify the cost, + i do not have insider knowledge on that part as i do not make them myself, sorry ^_^
Up to now i have used 3 separate places for stickers, ill probably add limks when im on web.
Read more is bc i am going into depth on the sites ive used and my experience + how you navigate em, bc i know i always like a lot of info on ths sort of stuff, feel free to ask more questions if you'd like to know anything else ^_^
V/ograce:
✨ Vo/grace is the cheapest of all options I'll be listing, and the trade off is it'll take about a month or longer for them to produce the sticker + for it to arrive to you.
✨ They have lots of options other sites dont (sparkle star and heart holo patterns i love so munch!) but they dont have a matte option iirc. Still good and varied! Ive enjoyed the quality + recently they've improved the...color printing?
✨ You upload files on the item page (its best to label em by Amount You Want + Size to make it easier for them (like CowboySticker_50pc_2inches)) + they later email you with a digital proof of how the outlines are and you can ask them to change it then, otherwiae minimal contact (if the proof is good you just say "yes its good to go!")
✨ Only thing here is sometimes proofs can be confusing (i ordered a sticker meant to be holo on 2 areas. They ended up not being holo at all, and i could not tell from the proofs lol like there was no indicator that theyd end up not holo :( ), and then it's hard to get things fixed if youre on a deadline (like ppl who make stickers for cons) bc itd take another month for the fixed ones to get to you
I use vo/grace when i rlly want a sparkle star or heart holo design, or lots of designs that fit within the materials they have ^_^ they also only have like a 10 sticker minimum order quantity (MOQ) i believe?? So you have to order 50 stickers at minimum but you can make them be 5 different designs of 10 iirc
Stic/kerapp:
🌷 Stick/erapp has the best/my favorite sticker UI out of the sites Ive used, you upload your file and theres an editor where you can decide how big you want the border of your sticker, what color, you can adjust how big you want em to be, + other things, so you don't have to wait for a digital proof
🌷 I've had good experiences w them and the cost is good but I havent used em in a while, and last i heard they are getting a lot of attention rn due to increased popularity, which has led to them getting some orders wrong, which is ok, but I've also seen people say customer support for this has not been great recently, so I am...not completely advocating against em but I'm avoiding em for the moment until things mybe calm down? But thats bc im not a risk taker urnshfksjf
🌷 I rlly do hope things are resolved soon bc they also have some special sticker materials that other sites dont have that id love to experiment with, but its not like. A NEED ^_^
Cant remember the MOQ here but i think its also 50. I think the base MOQ for sticker sites is 50
Stick/erninja:
🌈 Sti/ckerninja is a small local business in portland iirc. I used them for my most recent sticker (be my cowboy) bc I wanted it to be matte and Vog/race doesnt have matte sticker yet! I like their UI and the way they have options and materials set up. You upload your file (all these sites specify which they accept btw ^_^) and it gives you a little mini thumbnail on what it'll look like. This is good bc I actually had some file issues and I was able to see the file i uploaded messed up the colors! So i was able to fix it before purchasing.
🌈 They give you an estimated shipping time + some time later you'll get an email with digital proof and dimensions, if there are issues you can contact them and if not you just approve on a little menu in your account ^_^ iirc they also give discounts for specific designs and are vocal about supporting things like blm which is epic to me ^_^ my experience with them was quite nice + I think prices are similar to stick/erapp.
✨ Again I'm not a big risk taker and my stuff always flops so I usually stick to vogr/ace for the cost bc I have the time/dont do cons or anything w a deadline ^_^ mybe you cld start there if you wanna start out without investing a lot of money!
🌈 I rlly rlly liked matte sticker feeling so until vo/grace adds that I'm doing that much on stick/erninja! But i use both of these interchangeably atm!
🌷 I wld check each of em out for materials to see which you like too bc they all have their own special ones i think. I think stick/erapp has a lot of options ppl enjoy, but no sparkle holo like vo/grace. Sticke/rninja has blacklight florescent sticker options! Etc
I havent tried other sites as theyre usually more expensive hdhskfjskd ^_^ but yeag!

The wolf whistle thrown in your direction immediately made you tense up, with cautious eyes you turned to see who it was from. But right away you relaxed, releasing the tension as you were meet with the smile of your boyfriend.
“Don’t do that” You gave him a light punch in his shoulder, smiling regardless as he tugged you in for a hug. “You scared me”
“Sorry baby” He still holds onto you as you lean back, tugging on his arms to pull him forward. “I didn’t mean to” A soft kiss is placed on your nose before he gives you a light kiss on your lips, leaving you following him for more but he pulls away. Still holding onto one of your hands as he leads you out of campus and into town.
Your warm hands are a harsh contrast compared to his cold rings, in fact, your whole demeanour is the opposite of his. His bleached and shaved hair, ripped clothing, pierced and inked body. It was a tough look, one that often got him in trouble with his family or even got him a beating or two. Not that he didn’t love the attention. But you hated cleaning up his bloody lips and kissing his bruises.
But that didn’t change your love for him. He was soft to you, treating you like you were glass. People had warned against him, but after hearing his band play at a local bar, you were intrigued. Never once had he hurt you, broken your heart or made you cry. He was good to you.
You stayed by his side as you made your way to the familiar building of Taeils apartment. It wasn’t long till said member was opening the gates for you two to enter. Greeting you with his lovely smile and scream laugh as he always did.
“You made your boyfriend late again” He joked as he patted both of your shoulders but you could tell there was some realness behind it.
“I guess I’m more important than ‘Superhuman’ then, aren’t I?” You could see the pain through his smile as he opened the door into his apartment for you. Once again you were bombarded with smiles while you felt Yuta leave your side.
“Yo,” Mark called from the couch, a cloud of smoke blocking him from your sight.
“Mark” You smiled and joined him, the end of his guitar leaning over your lap. He flapped the vape away to give you a proper hello and you both discussed the latest lecture of your psyche class.
“Boring” But it didn’t last long as Johnny came and sat on the coffee table, across from the two of you. “Do you guys talk about anything else?”
“Damn someones a salty college drop out” Yuta was quick to defend you, nudging in between you and Mark despite the little room left on the couch. His cup was filled with some sort of vile liquid that you didn’t want to question but he downed it quickly. “Where is Sicheng anyway? I can’t believe I wasn’t the last to arrive”
“I know it’s a miracle. But if Sicheng doesn’t hurry up, I’m going to lose my mind. I cannot have Mark and Johnny in here any longer” Taeil was the last to join you four, taking his seat on a nearby beanbag.
“Hey, what is that supposed to me?” Johnny and Mark spoke almost in unison. It wasn’t long until the bickering started and reminded you of how special these boys are to you. It was never quiet around them, either one of their mouths was running off or the loud noises of their instruments creating music. But it was nice, you were able to sit comfortably in silence next to Yuta, playing with his picked fingers.
The conversation is interrupted as a flushed Sicheng finally busts into the cramped apartment, out of breath and hair a mess. He struggles to hold papers and bags in his hand as he walks in and dumps them on the nearest surface. He’s quick to get a telling off from Taeil, which you don’t know if he deserves considering the state of the rest of his apartment. But Sicheng quickly brings the attention back to something more important.
“But guys! It arrived today, he finished it, on time surprisingly ”
“I’m glad something was on time today” Yuta groans as he stands up to look at whatever Sicheng is talking about. You join, still attached by the hand. You can’t tell what it is, a large disk wrapped in newspaper, but the boys seem excited.
“Let’s put it on before we start” Johnny suggests as you all make it down the hall into the room Taeil had dedicated for practice. A large set up of speakers, instruments and microphones decorated the room. A mess really, but it all felt correct and in place. You were quick to ditch Yuta and sit on the old Lazyboy in the corner. Watching as they all crowded around the drum kit. Sicheng had flipped it over and began unscrewing but your view was disrupted by Mark and his guitar still in hand. It wasn’t until they all stepped back and placed the drums in place that you saw what it was.
A new drum front, instead of the worn-down white of the previous one, had the bands logo and name printed on it. ‘Superhuman’, the paint dripping down, messy scribbles surrounding. But it was perfect. It represented them. This felt like the stepping stone to something bigger for them and you couldn’t help but be happy for them. Be happy for Yuta.
With new energy in their step, they all set up their equipment, Sicheng making himself comfortable behind the drums, Mark and Johnny tunning their guitar, Yuta plugging in his bass and Taeil setting up the microphone.
Their music shook the room, you were sure Taeil’s neighbours must have hated him. But his voice was heavenly, soft contrasts compared to their rough music. You couldn’t help but keep your eyes focused on Yuta. His beanie had been lost somewhere, hair sticking to his sweaty forward, tongue pushed out in concentration as he danced in place, swinging his body with his bass. You could feel their music in your chest, rocking your entire body with the message of it all. You knew one day they were going to blow up. Move out and stop recording songs in their friend’s apartment and instead, a proper studio. Perform at sold-out shows and not just local bars. And you were happy to know that you would still be by Yutas side at the end of it all.

How did you learn so many languages. Do you have any tips?
Yes!!!! Yes I do!!!
Everything I wish I could tell myself before starting my language “journey” lol:
🦩Dont be intimidated
Don’t be intimidated, specifically by doing listening or speaking practice. I know in the US (or for most English speakers), when we hear someone that speaks perfect English but merely has an accent we think “they don’t speak English”, but from experience this mentality is not shared with other languages. When you know even a little bit of a language or can’t speak it very well, natives speakers are really really encouraging. I think since we view not being 100% fluent without so much as an accent, as “not knowing any of a language” we are hard on ourselves and give up pretty easily.
🦩Listening practice is as important as studying vocabulary and grammar
When you listen to native speakers talk, you are training your ear even though you don’t understand it. Listen and listen, eventually your brain stops picking out English words that aren’t even there, but rather, starts to catch patterns in the language (for example, the same words sticks out to you over and over).
🦩Set realistic and doable goals or you’ll get discouraged and quit
If you are a busy person, make small goals to fit language study in. Don’t tell yourself that you need to master _____ within a week. Instead give yourself 15 mins of reading in the evening, and 25 mins of language listening in the morning. It’s also easier to add the language into stuff you do on a daily basis anyway. For example if you are religious, find your prayers you pray daily in the language you are learning.
🦩learn to read the language first (obviously this tip might not be applicable for character based languages like Chinese)
I know everyone says “immersion is the best and most important part of language” but honestly, a lot of our native speaking knowledge comes from our literacy education. When we are taught how to read, it’s through reading we can discover new words through context. It’s also easy to pick up new language reading since it’s available anywhere, where immersion is only available when you are surrounded by native speakers. The first thing I do is learn how to read and write the language, then the entire language becomes accessible to me.
🦩Spend time perfecting the sounds of the language that are most difficult for you
The vocal sounds of a language is the foundation of a language. I know we are all impatient and want to simply learn as many phrases as possible as fast as possible, but if you get down the unfamiliar sounds of a language that don’t exist in English, you’ll have a better foundation of the language and your speaking and listening will be better from the very beginning. So take the time to practice those weird sounds by looking into the position of the tongue and where the sound comes from, from the chest to the lips. Look into how tense the mouth is, how much air comes from the lips, what the sound is like next to other sounds. When you master this speaking becomes more instinctual and it’s easier to pick up the language.
🦩Search YouTube, google, Instagram IN THE LANGUAGE YOU ARE STUDYING.
Don’t search “korean music” or “korean kids tv” or even “korean vegetables” in google. Just translate how to say them in a translator app, then copy and paste them into the search bar. This way native korean information, videos, posts will come up. For example, if you’re in the mood for some horror comics, and want to read/watch them in the language you are learning, go to the translator app, and figure out how to say them, then search it. It works way better, even if the translation isn’t correct or more natural, you’ll still get the information, posts, and videos you want to see.
🦩Find ways to practice speaking the language (I use HiNative) and don’t be discouraged by corrections.
Getting corrected does not mean you’re wrong, corrections are the most useful part of learning a language. If you are the type of person who is sensitive to criticism, you need to remind yourself corrections are NOT criticism. They are NOT a reflection of your progress, they are NOT you failing! You will always be corrected as a language learner and the sooner you are gentle with yourself in learning the sooner you will learn more. Get those first corrections out of the way, allow yourself to butcher pronunciation, get corrected for the first 10 times, let it sting a little and move on. Eventually you will be begging native speakers to tell you every little detail in where you went wrong!
🦩Tv and Books seems to be more useful for immersion and listening practice then music does
So far in my experience music is its very weird and abstract, and the things said in music aren’t really useful in speaking? It’s good for gathering vocab, but if you want music listening practice that’s music based try searching for rap in that language, although obviously you’ll be picking up a lot of informal language in music/rap. Tv shows however are typically how people really do talk, so turn off English subs and just listen! Books are really useful for learning new vocabulary, but sometimes written language is different than spoken (often), although when you speak it the way you’ve learned from a book the worst you’ll sound is “formal and poetic”.
🦩Look up “insert language you are learning phrases and words that aren’t useful or correct”
There so many programs and books that teach you phrases you’ll never use or that are only appropriate in very specific situations. I don’t know why language programs do this, but learning which ones are weird or only in specific settings before you start learning really helps. Chinese Especially does this...like I learned so many phrases and words that natives will never use and have no purpose???
🦩Know the different subjects of learning a language and which apps to use for that
Everyone uses Duolingo, but this app alone won’t make you speak a language. Duolingo and Memrise are great for memorizing vocab, but, is it vocab that in the context of your reading and listening practice? Are you learning words you are hearing and reading all the time? Duolingo is a lot of fun but I feel like the vocab is so broad and it doesn’t go deep enough into the language. Feel free to use it at first to get used to the sounds of the language, but try using flash card apps like quizlet or Anki instead where you can write down and study words you are hearing constantly. Memrise does have actually study sets for many language books and lessons! So you can study words you are hearing in specific programs and books which is pretty useful in regards to vocab.
There obviously is more than just learning vocab. What about grammar, listening practice, speaking practice and reading? If you are wanting to use primarily apps find out which apps are available for your language. Here is an example of the apps I use for each subject. Be aware some languages are not available on them.
Vocab: quizlet, anki
Grammar: books (printed or kindle), YouTube grammar lessons, websites
Reading: books (printed or kindle), beelinguapp, instagram (posts that have text), Netflix/YouTube with both subtitles in the language you are learning and spoken in language you are learning, epic app
Writing: just use paper and pencil/pen
Listening: audio books (beelinguapp/epic/kindle/YouTube), tv and movies (Netflix/YouTube etc with no English subs), conversations on YouTube (search in language you are studying, don’t search “Spanish conversations” or “Japanese conversations”)
Speaking: HiNative (pretty much all I use since it’s all languages, quick, and you get immediately answered and corrected by native speakers), get friends in language you are learning through lots of apps
Translator: it’s really hard to find a good one, most of them are really weird so only use them for words and the most basic or simple phrases and sentences, otherwise use HiNative to ask native speakers directly, or ask people on the apps that connect you to native speakers
🌱I should note that for talking to native speakers I only like HiNative, since it’s built to NOT be a form of social networking at all. It’s not personal in anyway, and there’s no way to private message or speak to other users outside a asking questions publicly. The people on there are only about learning or teaching a language, not usually making friends. I’ve found the sites that are built to make native speaking friends aren’t useful to me personally, as most of the native speakers are either dudes looking for a woman to date or people wanting to only practice English with you, so they wasted a lot of my study time. People who are willing to help you learn are there, but it takes time to filter everything else out. If you would find it helpful to make friends by all means use them but I don’t really use it myself.🌱
You don’t want to really study EVERY SUBJECT every single day (unless you have the time). It can get really overwhelming, and you don’t really absorb information that if you are just cramming. While I would say it’s good to read and listen daily, spread subjects out over the week. Grammar on Monday and Friday, vocab on Tuesday and Thursday. Take one day to review all of what you’ve learned all week. Pick a day you have the largest block of free time. Bi-weekly works fine too.
I have an old post on how I organize my study time for multiple languages: https://alwaysabeautifullife.tumblr.com/post/182817883372/what-do-you-use-to-learn-your-languages-im
🦩Write sentences daily of everything you’ve learned (no THIS I RECOMMEND DAILY)
Write as many as you can. Use all the grammar you’ve learned, the words you’ve learned, everything! Write them in your notes and submit them to be corrected in HiNative. The sentences they correct, put them in flash cards!
🦩It’s ok to abandon languages you aren’t passionate in
So you’ve learned to read the language, and you know basic phrases, and now you just don’t want to do it anymore. If you can’t think of any reason to maintain it and don’t know why you are studying it, learning some of the language is good! Fluency does NOT need to be everyone’s goal. You can hold a conversation, and that’s good enough for you. Feel free to try out various languages, there will be one or some that really are your passion, it’s fine to have the goal of fluency in those and conversational in others.
Don’t abandon languages however because you feel discouraged. Discouragement is just a bump to get over, when you train your brain to maintain study habits through the days you feel discouraged, you make it habitual. Habits are harder to break and abandon! Evaluate your reasonings for wanting to speak a language, and your reasons for abandoning them if you want. Don’t let difficulty, disorganized, discouragement, or poor time management get in your way!!
🦩With all that said it’s ok to take breaks
It’s ok to get overwhelmed and take breaks from language learning. If you can still maintain what you’ve learned by listening to music in your language or staying connected in some way that’s good, but the “you’ll loose a language” isn’t entirely true. I’ve taken year long breaks and refreshing what I learned previously is pretty easy! Your brain really does go “oh yeah I do remember this!” when you’re studying information you studied years ago.
🦩Be gentle with yourself
Be gentle with yourself. People that claim to be fluent in 6 months are selling something or want to be an influencer. Don’t compare yourself to them. Language learning even for natives is a lifetime education. It’s not something you do for 6 months then stop. It’s continual and that looks different for everyone (yes native speakers included). Don’t bother watching YouTube videos on how to learn in 10 mins or 3 months, you’ll only get discouraged about your own amazing progress and all the work you’ve done.
🦩Plan your “can you say something in it” phrase now
This one is just for fun but after hearing you are learning a language the first thing you’ll get asked is “oh cool you speak (insert target language here)? Can you say something in (insert target language here)?” It does not matter what level of fluency you are at, you will absolutely forget the entire language and your own native language when you are asked this because it sends your brain to another dimension. So think of some funny phrases to say to people who ask, master them, then when they ask what they mean you can have a laugh. Other wise you will say something stupid of jumbled words (my go to was ‘we women are fruit’ for some reason thanks brain you’re incredible) you’ve learned that don’t belong in a sentence, or even worse you’ll run a blank and you’ll just look at them like:
🍳👄🍳
So think of inside jokes to tell your friends, funny phrases, even goofy insults! Memorize them and tell them at your friends and family to torture them because they can’t escape sound waves! It’s a good way to memorize the language but also to become confortable speaking it!
Please excuse any errors I don’t wanna go over my mistakes so pretend u can’t see them 🙈

Parent!Paranoia Sanders Sides AU!
No explanation, but I'll probably give the backstory later. For now: memes of Paranoia being an A-class parent and a chaos gremlin. (okay it started as memes but then just ended up as fleshing the AU out)
~~
Paranoia, worried abt his kids: I'm uhhhh gonna go to my room see ya later light sides
Paranoia, sneaking back into the subconscious to check on his now teenaged children: I'm gonna leave duke a r a t that I found and thought looked cool
Duke, waking up the next morning and yelling for 'Nesty bc "HOLY CRAP NESTY LOOK AT THIS RAT ISN'T SHE ADORABLE I WANNA HANG HER ON THE WALL": !!!!!!!!!!
~~
Paranoia gets a habit of sitting on the fridge because his children were wild as kids and sometimes duke comin at you with a knife warrants jumping onto counters
~~
Nesty, who doesnt get paid to deal with duke: I'm raiding dads liquor cabinet it's my due for putting up with this
Paranoia, physically manifesting: put the key to the liquor cabinet D O W N, Honesty
~~
The lights are confused as to why he disappears at random times of the day and night and he just "leave me TF alone before I leave you a goshdarn diddly P R E S E N T while youre sleeping I'm tired"
~~
patton: my child! my dark strange son!!
paranoia, who has children: ,,,,yea ok
~~
Patton ticks him off so he leaves a big halloween decor spider on his bed and nobody sleeps for weeks after that bc pattons too scared to touch it and paranoia maybeperhaps glued it onto his cover
~~
He's like one of those people you know might mean well but ooooooo boy theyre pushin buttons
~~
Paranoia, whos fav animal/insect is spiders and whose children have tarantulas and snakes on the regular: hes not even realistic!! You need to learn to get along with mr sparkles patton!! look at him. he's fluffy!
~~
He has googly eyes and glitter on him at all times of course hes named mr sparkles
~~
paranoia gets to be a little petty. as a treat
~~
Paranoia just carries bags of glitter around and whenever mr sparkles gets duller he takes mr sparkles to the kitchen counter and he dumps glitter on him
Logan and patton are tired of cleaning up bc paranoias just petty enough to make their counters eternally sparkly
~~
"why is there glitter all over the kitchen?"
paranoia, holding mr sparkles: :)
~~
Paranoia, after AA: I hate purple but they dont know that now do they
Paranoia is actually orange the last side is purple lol
~~
Chaos Gremlin dark sides and nobody is surprised bc paranoia raised them
~~
paranoia, going back to see his teen children after acting like a teen all day: what is up, fellow kids
honesty: i am going to lose it
~~
Wrath, coming to yell at them to keep it down: why are you purple I'm purple
Paranoia, cackling bc finally I can get out of this horrible color: *snaps fingers * I'M PARANOIA MOTHERTRUCKERS HAVE FUUUNNNNN I'M GONNA BE MAKING YOUR LIVES LIVING HELL FROM THIS POINT FORWARDS
~~
duke and nesty, pumped for halloween bc u l t i m a t e s p o o k: :D
paranoia, coming out in a traffic cone costume with a shit eating grin on his face: :D
~~
Paranoia, decorating for halloween bc "oh I'm sorry it's just the *sniffles * homesickness and we a l w a y s decorated for halloween" knowing full well all of his decorations are spider and witch themed bc they all like the salem witch trials
~~
He leaves ONE fake snake in romans cereal and the lights just. Lose it. Hes kicked back into the subconscious to be chaotic with his kids, no new side, just the hours upon hours of film hes gotten from the bugs hed placed around the unconscious and a plan for the next several movie nights
He gets back and honesty is w h e e z i n g bc he was watching through the cracks and they make a fail compilation of the light sides
It takes like two months for the lights to just go insane with him around not due to yknow paranoia but bc hes such a gremlin
~~
Patton asks if he was raised by wolves and he shoves mr sparkles at patton saying "take the issue of how I was raised up with my father, a-hole!!"
He doesnt actually curse he just yells "A-HOLE" so loud his kids can hear
~~
They dont find out he's a dad until hes summoned and hes making cookies or smt with the kids and hes in a bright orange stereotypical witch outfit,,, corset and all and an apron that says "worlds most chaotic dad" on the front
And hes talking to one of the kids like "duke you can only put dish soap in your batch nesty cant digest it like you can"
~~
Patton has an apron that says worlds least chaotic 'dad' courtesy of paranoia he made it himself(read: he stole pattons good apron and scribbled over it in sharpie)
~~
Paranoia is always close to cackling when around the lights bc theyre newbs to any chaos
~~
Roman and remus are twins but roman is the kind of kid to promptly forget abt anyone and logan n patton knew remus less than a day before he "disappeared" aka ran to the subconscious to explore and theyve just kinda blocked him out
~~
Logans fine with it and actually likes the decorations tho he has asked if they had to be so brightly coloured and if there had to be so much glitter
I say decorations but hes a secret gremlin at heart and is super close to snickering at all times bc of the pranks
~~
Also yes paranoia mildly dads roman it's great but he dads in an older sibling type way
~~
So pat and logan are all "hes fitting in as an older brother well" and they tell him abt their approval of his older brother chaos and hes just like "no this is how I am deal with it nothing to do with brothers" bc hes not telling them abt his kids he doesnt trust them
~~
Hes up at like midnight complaining with logan abt how patton doesnt let him be full chaos gremlin and logan says "mmmhmm did your parents in the dark side let you go wild with the chaos" and paranoia just,,,,, looks at him, dead in the eyes, and says "I dont have parents"
Cue logan being confusion
Paranoia, who genuinely didn't have parents: my parents are mr sparkles and the cat we've had for my entire life
Logan, who doesnt know they had a cat and is now worried bc "are you taking care of it???": ???
Paranoia: it's great for keeping the Others in line tho I just say "do your chores or no snuggle time with ms peregrin" and they do their chores while I'm making dinner
logan, incredibly confused: i don't know what you mean but ok
Paranoia: yeah theyre dumb but it's the level of dumb youd expect from my idiots
~~
Or he slips up and refers to them as his children/kids and logan, not realizing they have an Actual Father/Sons relationship/age difference(paranoias abt.late 20s early 30s, remus defies all logic and has been about 9-10 for a few years now, and dees like early teens) just says "huh how.interesting would it be to have to deal with people your age that immature" and paranoias just. "Y e a h t h e y r e t o t a l l y t h e s a m e a g e a s I a m"
~~
Duke is very much baby and upon seeing duke eating glue paranoia and honesty the idiots decided to try it too
theyre so dumb dsdhdhdhjsdh
They AREEE and paranoia, after discovering that duke has the h a r d i e s t immune system they decide to test exactly what he can and cannot safely eat bc he may be dumb but hes also def a Dad and he just wants to take care of his kids and if that includes making sure that duke can safely consume toilet bleach then so be it
Duke can eat almost anything short of actual cyanide but cyanide just makes him sick like stomach bug sick
He somehow gets a fever,,,,, he has it for like half an hour and paranoia is amazed
Hes in bed,,,,, paranoia makes him soup,,,,,, hes all better and running around again
~~
Paranoias parenting rules:
Dont murder your brothers pls
Do your chores or no snuggle time with ms peregrin
Glitter is always a yes
Insults are fine just make sure you dont overstep and make your brothers insecure
all of them are printed and then the last one is scrawled at the bottom in
If you get sick, tell him immediately bc he will find out and he will be the most obsessive parent to make sure you feel better ASAP
If your pronouns/name/function change, tell him immediately, he'll make sure you dont feel uncomfortable as well as he can
Duke dont put dish soap in honestys baked goods you know he cant digest it
It's a nice system for making chaos but keeping it manageable
They're all printed then the last one's scrawled in glitter gel pen and duke wrote a reply that said (I'm sorry yall dont have as good an immune system as I do)
There was a whole passive aggressive arguement on the bulletin for the next week before it got taken down to make room for dukes art
They eventually started just putting them up over each other and using magnets instead of thumbtacks
The entire bottom portion of the walls are painted in chalkboard paint so theres no unerasable drawing on the walls and the rest of the paint is magnetic so they can hang pieces everywhere
Dukes improving rapidly tho and doesnt like looking at his old art all the time so paranoia holds onto the drawings in several filing cabinets in case he ever wants to do redraws or needs his original prints to make something in the Imagination
also bc,,, sentimental
jus a little
Yeah bc "yes my child draws nothing but blood gore and new animals but hes a creative genius and I love all of his art"
~~
Roman: anxiety I can see why you left
Paranoia: ??? What?? It's spoopy season??
Roman: there was BLOOD on the WALLS
Paranoia, internally: oh!!!! Duke perfected his blood recipe!!!!
Paranoia, externally: how did it taste?
Roman: WHO TASTES THE BLOOD ON THE WALLS?!?!
Paranoia: if it tasted like lemons or citrus you need to stay off of most foods, stick to crackers and broth- don't eat anything heavy until you're sure you wont throw it up
Patton, who was making cereal: ????
~~
Also!!!! @iliveinprocrasti-nation Thanks for helping me flesh this AU out!!!

Im Scare Of Chemicals & Pesticides
Tumblr media
So when our customer call us one of the many questions they have is do yall use chemical? Or are y’all chemical safe ? They also want to know the product name as well. So here some info about pest control chemical that the professional use
First of all let’s get away from using word chemical in our industry we use the word products instead of chemicals. They have several different products for almost any kind of situation so the word chemical doesn’t really describe The Product very well.
Also when u look at the word chemical it’s define as
chem·i·cal /ˈkemək(ə)l/
a compound or substance that has been purified or prepared, especially artificially. “never mix disinfectant with other chemicals”
So when you look at the work chemical almost everything that we use could be considered a chemical whether it’s natural or organic.
People fear what they dont understand but their alot of things we dont understand all you really care about is it gonna to work and is it hazardous to u and your family. If your looking for a pest control company in the tulsa ,ok area we recommend Pathfinder pest control LLC .
Weather is it products or whatever u want to call it is to safe well I put it like this a sky driving coach once told me is sky drive safe ? No! But it can be performed safety. So when it come to the product professional pest control operator use they applicated correct and and according to their training and  manufacturers  recommendation it can be safe for you and your family
So here are some things to think about ,  look at the herbicide, Pesticides, cleaning or sanitizing products in your home . Very product has a warning or caution  label just like the product the professional use.  never assure just because it come from a store, it’s safe ? Actually many of the store bought products are just as toxic or safe as the product we use as professional every day .
When u look closely at the Labels of these store bought products are not really that safe meaning if you ingest or the solution come in contact with your skin the effects will be the same if not worest than professional pesticides .
To help measure the risk of products in your home i will give you a chart that we go by this help you compare. So as professional pest control operator will break down the level of toxicity in our products by signal words . caution ,warning and danger . here is the epa signal words define .
Caution – CAUTION
Products with the signal word CAUTION are lower in toxicity.Protection Agency (EPA) requires a signal word on most pesticide product labels. They also require it to be printed on the front panel, in all capital letters, to make it easy for users to find. The only pesticide products that are not required to display a signal word are those that fall into the lowest toxicity category by all routes of exposure (oral, dermal, inhalation, and other effects like eye and skin irritation).
WARNING
Indicates the pesticide product is moderately toxic if eaten, absorbed through the skin, inhaled, or it causes moderate eye or skin irritation.
DANGER
Means that the pesticide product is highly toxic by at least one route of exposure. It may be corrosive, causing irreversible damage to the skin or eyes. Alternatively, it may be highly toxic if eaten, absorbed through the skin, or inhaled. If this is the case, then the word “POISON” must also be included in red letters on the front panel of the product label.
So with this info go to your store bought product in your home  to see where their toxicity level falls . you might be surprise. So inconclusion we want shed light on the misconception that chemical and pesticide are bad or more danger than store bought products . when it come to any solution pesticide or chemcial alway stick to the manufacture recommend on safety and storing instruction as well as following the application direction.

Pride by Ibi Zoboi (Review)
This book is a modern retelling of the Jane Austen’s seminal classic Pride & Prejudice. Zuri Luz Benitez is a black Haitian-Dominican teenager in her senior year of high school whose identity is constructed around her life in Bushwick, a neighborhood with a tight community that is going through aggressive gentrification. Across the street, in one of the new gentrified houses, the Darcy family moves in, including twins Ainsley and Darius, two rich private-school boys sticking out like a fish out of water.
Zoboi’s adaptation creates amazing parallels when compared one-to-one with P&P, but it can’t hold its own very well. The writing is a simplistic and the characterization for most of the named characters is extremely one-dimensional. I was taken a bit by surprise when I found it in the youth section, and the simple writing makes me confused about the age of the intended audience. In any case, I didn’t have a bad time reading this, but I was expecting a lot more than I got.
To expand a little on the intended audience, I think my confusion is mostly because of the conflicting styles. On one hand, Zoboi’s prose is very simple and almost hamfisted in how she handles her characters and story. Other than some nice and age-appropriate poetry from Zuri herself, the rest of the book isn’t very elegant in writing quality. So I said to myself, ok I found it in the youth section. It’s intended for a younger audience. However, all the central characters are in their senior year of high school, and there are numerous allusions to sex and cusses that I’m not sure would fly in middle fiction. I think those who are in this reading level will find the characters too old and teenagery, while those who are the main character’s ages will find the prose to be lacking. Zuri in specific is a voracious reader, and she herself would not have the patience to enjoy reading this book which is far below her reading level.
It’s easier to read this book for what it’s supposed to be saying rather than what it is saying, if that makes any sense. For instance, Darius when he first shows up is quiet and doesn’t offer much information about himself, but he also wasn’t very rude or belligerent upon first impression. I know “prejudice” is half the thing, but Zuri really jumps the gun and kind of started the whole feud in the first place. It just wasn’t that believable that he was some jerk who deserved her hatred like it was with Elizabeth Bennet, and similarly it wasn’t very believable when she later learns that she just misinterpreted his social awkwardness.
Also, I thought it was interesting that the title removed the “prejudice” when to me that seemed like a much bigger aspect of this version than in Austen’s work. For instance, Darius makes a number of disparaging remarks about Bushwick and its “ghetto” people, but even before he makes these remarks Zuri already “hates” him based on stuff she made up about him in her head. And then later, when they begin to get closer, she actually never confronts him about his prejudice and just. Forgives and forgets.
She also forgives and forgets when it comes to Ainsley and Janae. This bothered me a lot more than some of my other nitpicking because it actually changes one of the important themes of P&P. Not that Zoboi doesn’t have the right to alter thematic elements—she absolutely does! But the theme of family and the fact that Zuri would do ANYTHING for her sisters is told to the reader through a lot of exposition, but we don’t actually see it. The moment in the car when she finds out that Darius split up Ainsley and Janae is really representative of that for me. She got angry in the moment, but she never actually investigates to find out WHY he did it like Elizabeth in P&P. On that note, later on when she forgives him, she never asks him to account for it again.
In fact, character motivation and appropriate emotional buildup was a recurring issue in this book. Nothing hit quite like I think Zoboi intended them to.
The talk on gentrification and class difference is good tho. Perhaps incomplete, but there’s only so much space. They really show how class plays a role in a variety of different circumstances and scenarios, and I think Zoboi succeeds here where others have failed.
Some of the parallels that I liked:
-          Warren and Colin took me OUT when they first appeared. You can really see what Zoboi thinks about Mr. Wickham and Mr. Collins from the original lol.
-          The tour of Howard instead of touring the Darcy home was very interesting to me. I think it was a great introduction to how she wasn’t expecting her world to expand so much, and that there’s a lot of different experiences in the world that she’s missing, and she gets introduced to this idea by people who AREN’T Darius and Ainsley. I really liked that.
-          The leopard print and “inappropriate dress” that the Benitez family wore to the Darcy cocktail party. It seems like a good way to show how respectability politics still play into the modern day, and it added a bit of character to the Benitez family as a prototypical Latinx family that I really enjoyed.
-          The Warren and Georgia situation was also a good way to translate this into the modern day.
-          P&P: In order to avoid scandal, Darcy pays for a marriage between a 16 year old and a 20-something known scumbag, and this is seen as a good thing because it saved the Bennet family. Zoboi’s Pride: Darius beats the shit out of Warren. I REALLY CRIED, THIS IS WHAT I WANT OUT OF AN ADAPTATION.
Things I didn’t like so much:
-          Ainsley x Janae is treated like a veeery minor side story instead of being a secondary plot. One of the big things in P&P is that Jane and Bingley are the prototypical pure love story and they think they are the main characters. Ainsley and Janae are not given much space to breathe in the narrative, and their relationship comes across as an afterthought instead of as one of the principal plot threads.
-          The diversion with Darius’ grandmother was also thrown in there like an afterthought. It didn’t add much to the story other than showing that Darius will side with Zuri when push comes to shove. It still felt like it took up a lot more time than it needed to if the grandmother wasn’t going to appear again at the end of the book like in the original. If it’s role to the plot was going to be minimized like that, I don’t really understand why it was included at all.
-          Charlise and Colin as a pair also felt out of place. In the original, Mr. Collins and Charlotte weren’t a major part of the story, but they contributed to the narrative that Austen wanted to tell about marriage and the different types of marriages that exist in English society at the time. Charlise and Colin don’t really have that effect on the story at all. Both characters are completely irrelevant to the plot (except Colin in the last possible moment), and they’re only really there to BE an adaptation.
-          Some of the plot beats were rearranged. I didn’t mind this so much since any number of directorial decisions are valid so long as the have a positive impact on the adaptation’s goal, but I didn’t really see how they added much.
One thing I REALLY liked was the addition of Madrina. I’m not sure if she’s a reference to something I don’t remember from the text or a completely original addition, but I thought she made for some really interesting moments. I especially loved how much connection Zuri felt with her Orisha worship and that they called her “daughter of Ochun.” I would change NOTHING about this, it was pure and really sweet.
One adaptation I WISH Zoboi had made was to have Zuri call out Darius’ hypocrisy. In P&P, the Bennetts are certainly in a different social class from Darcy and the Bingleys, but they’re ultimately still property owners in Britain. The stakes are different here. Darius keeps talking about how things in his life aren’t perfect just because he’s rich (which is absolutely true, especially when Zoboi starts getting into his experience as a black teenager surrounded by white classmates), but he is STILL not really understanding the difference in experience between himself and Zuri. The thing is, although she’s not right to judge Darius’ whole personality, she absolutely IS right about a lot of his privilege at the very beginning, but she kind of lets that go after a while. Zuri confronts Darius about his wealth many times, but to me at least it doesn’t really seem like she was able to convince him that his whole outlook on life is fundamentally different because of his wealth. Idk maybe I’m grasping at straws here. I just wish that Darius had actually talked about like . trying to persuade his parents to donate more to charity, or doing community service, or idk DISTRIBUTING THE WEALTH. Darius doesn’t change much in the story. At the beginning, he’s like “sorry im rich but lmfao you’re being mean to me!” and then at the end he is like “I am simply a rich boy, I cannot change this” which is barely a difference at all.
Anyways. I really didn’t hate this book. I wanted to like it a lot more than I did, which is why I have all these criticisms about it.
I recommend this to anyone who wants to read a thoughtprovoking discussion on class through the lens of one of history’s most overrated love stories (speaking as someone who loves P&P: yea it’s overrated). Read it for Zuri and Darius, who are totally different people from Elizabeth and Darcy. Read it for nostalgia, because even though I don’t know what it feels like to be one of 5 Afrolatine kids in Bushwick, I Felt that family affection.
3/5 for having great ideas but not such great execution.

20 Questions with Dr Ferox #8
My gosh, there’s just so much stuff you vetlings want to know, isn’t there? Well, knowledge is good, so here we go with yet another info dump as I try to answer a big slew of your questions in one hit.
Anonymous said: I sometimes get your patreon emails or an update on your blog while I'm studying/struggling in the wee-hours of the morning (vetmed). I'm in WA, so where-ever you are it's also late/early. What are you doing up in the witching hours?
First of all, I am an AdultTM and as such I am permitted to set by own Bed Time. There are many reasons why you might receive notifications from me so ‘early’.
I have a blog post on queue every morning between 5am and 6am my time (so probably 3am and 4am your time). It goes up automatically, so I can see initial responses before I go to work.
I think Patreon sends its emails at the same time each day, regardless of when I post. I certainly don’t type there early in the morning.
Sometimes I’m on nightshift and can get kinda bored at 3am sometimes.
Sometimes I just can’t sleep, especially with the changing day/night cycles.
Most of the blog runs on queue, honestly. At least three posts a day do.
@banesidhe said: Just happened to discover your blog. Thank you so much for posting like you do (even the snark. I'm a 911 dispatcher, I appreciate the snark ;) ), and sharing your experiences. No vet question, but if you could only ever re/read five books for the rest of your life, which five titles would make your cut?
Ah, I have found many similar people to myself among emergency personnel. There’s a particular combination of gallows humor and wishing people would get to the point that unites us.
For fiction books:
Feral, Kerry Greenwood
The Shepherd’s Crown, Terry Pratchett
Monstrous Regiment, Terry Pratchett
Watership Down, Richard Adam
Good Omens, Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman
Hmm, bit of a trend there.
But the work books I couldn’t live without are:
Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook
The 5 minute veterinary consult, Dog and Cat Edition
Ettinger’s Textbook of Internal Medicine, Expert Consult
BSAVA Rabbit Medicine & Surgery Handbook
Small Animal Surgery, Fossum.
Anonymous asked: what was the most exotic/rare patient youve ever had?
This fat meerkat.
Anonymous said: My dog is a shelter dog and we suspect she was abused before we got her (afraid of E V E R Y T H I N G) and weve been slowly working on getting her to at least ignore people we walk past or that enter the house and thats been making progress. But she hates the vet. Hates it. Gets in my lap and refuses to leave. New dogs people and smells. So her normal vet takes the approach of having one of us hold/console her while they do all the poking and listening and whatnot and muzzling her if they need to and just getting it done as quickly as possible. But this last time she saw a new vet and this vet took the approach of hand-feeding her almost an entire bag of treats and called it "stress-eating" and tbh you should have seen the look on my dogs face. She was so weirded out. Shes highly food motivated so it was like heaven to her but she was simultaneously very suspicious. Her face was like"i love this but idk if i trust it" it was great.Have a greatday!
If you an reinforce the behaviour by arranging frequent, short visits to the vet clinic where nothing happens but lots of treats, she may start to associate the vet clinic with positive things (food) ad no scary things. This might make the rest ofher life easier.
Anonymous said: I own fancy rats and just want to put out there to people, that while they are THE MOST amazing tiny friends, in my experience most vets are completely lost when it comes to their care & several I've seen refused to even touch my exceptionally friendly females. They often get respiratory infections requiring antibiotics. One of my friend's females passed away bc nobody would perform a simple surgery on her. So please be cautious when buying them.
I would like to suggest that any surgery on a rat is likely to be not simple, because they do have particular anesthetic requirements that can make their recovery difficult. Also that a lot of traditional rat medicine hinges on using post mortem examination as a diagnostic tool, which is not useful at all with pet rats.
In dog and cat medicine most of our equipment and even medications are not suitable for rats, or very difficult to adapt. We simply have fewer options, and generally less experience with these species Most vets I know will attempt to treat them, but with a great big disclaimer saying I don’t do this often, and a quick question as to whether you’d prefer to go to a nearby clinic that does see rats more often.
Anonymous said: Hello, I recently took in 3 abandoned kittens and they're covered in fleas. They appear to be 6 weeks old and can't use meds or wash for them. I clean them with vinegar and dish soap and I was wondering if you knew of any other ways to help them since they hate getting wet. I also use a comb but they dislike that as well.
You can use capstar on kittens from 4 weeks of age, and Revolution from 6, probably earlier. Talk to your vet.
Anonymous asked: Strange question but do you know if that rage syndrome thing can happen in cats also? I know a cat who does that and also acts strangely in general at the same time?
It is not documented in cats, however Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome may present in a similar way.
Anonymous said: Hey doc! I plan on getting my cat fixed soon and I'm worried about how it'll affect her. She's really skittish and prefers to stay in one room, could getting her fixed make it worse?? I guess like what are the possible behavioral effects is what I'm askin? For the qt: ive been here a while i just dont like or reblog stuff but i came for the vet knowledge and stayed for it too, especially the mythical creatures and dog breed info
She is probably not going to have any long term personality changes from being desexed, though might be out of sorts for a few days after the anaesthetic. If anything they tend to be less stressed because they’re not attracting Toms.
Another Anonymous said: My kitten was neutered yesterday and he's doing great, healing well, playing nonstop, remarkably agile despite the e-collar (navigating small spaces, jumping to high places), eating & drinking well. The vet didn't give us any aftercare instructions but I googled it -- and wish I'd done so before the surgery because I could've prepared better. A lot of it seemed obvious in hindsight but nothing I'd have thought of on my own. Do you have a flier or anything for your patients' humans?
We send our patients home with aftercare instructions. We have a default one that we print for routine surgery like desexing, and a customized one for non-routine procedures.
We also read it out to our clients when they pick up their pet, and point out that all these instructions are written down, because it’s easy to forget details when you’re worried.
Anonymous asked: I have a question! I saw your desexing cats post and thought I might send it to you. I neutered my male cat but he still sprays and tries to roam the neighborhood. I try to keep him inside best I can. Is there a reason this happens?
It may be stress, but you should consult your vet to rule out any underlying urinary tract issue before assuming so. Your vet should be able to discus the various stress reducing techniques, changes and treatments that are available.
Anonymous asked: Whenever my roommate wakes up before me, she makes bacon for breakfast while the coffee is brewing. If she hasn't slept well, her coherence is sometimes a bit... lacking. If our cat happens to demand food, about half the time she ends up giving him a slice of bacon instead of cat food. We only recently figured out that she's been doing this. He's not getting fat, and gets actual cat food later, so is this OK, or do we need to try to figure out how to keep this from happening?
While bacon is certainly digestible, it is not a balanced diet. It would be ideal if you could minimize his bacon habit.
@nowgovanish said: Hello! I have a question about my 13 and 4 year old cats. They seem to have some pretty bad skin reactions to certain foods, and I've tried a lot of different food brands that my vet reccommended. The one that seems to work best is a grain free/ non chicken variant, but I see that you aren't a huge fan of grain free. Is there anything I should change or try sticking with what works?
I have said many times before that if it’s working, keep feeding it.
Novel protein diets, and ideally single proteins source diets, are more use for allergies than just going ‘grain free’.
‘Grain Free’ labelling on food particularly vexes me because it’s not regulated. You can find ‘grain free’ food that really mean ‘corn free’ and either use grain byproducts or straight up use rice. Last time I checked, rice was a grain.
It’s like ‘Hollistic’ - it means nothing on a pet food label. Neither does ‘Organic’, pet food companies do not have to use all organic products in pet food to label the food as organic. These are marketing ploys like ‘all natural’ which are targeting your emotions and don’t mean anything when it comes to the food.
If you’ve come across a novel protein diet, or a minimum ingredient diet, that is beneficial for your cats then stick with it. But recognise what’s marketing and what’s useful.
Anonymous said: I love my dog but he is a complete and total moron. He has strangled himself so often that his bark is now raspy. He even found a way to do it with a harness! We've resorted to jogging when walking him to try and keep up but is there some way to make it better? We've tried letting him learn on his own, pausing when he pulls, and getting a longer leash. If he was much smarter I'd accuse him of being into asphyxiation.
I would suggest that you potentially need to figure out what motivates your dog most. Consider using positive reinforcement to encourage him to heel on the lead, instead of wandering and pulling.
You might also want to consider something like a halti collar, which pulls the dog’s nose downwards to their chest when they pull, instead of something that goes around the neck.
Anonymous: Would you consider it a good generalization that dogs more closely resembling/related to wolves (like huskies) have less health problems? I am aware that no dogs are completely lacking in health problems.  Tax: came for good hard factual analysis.
No. And here’s the thing- all modern dog breeds are equally distant from their wolf-like ancestor, unless they have been recently mixed with wolves again.
Their health problems are different to those dogs with more extreme anatomy, but dogs that look like wolves are not inherently healthier.
@justslowdown said: a book i have discusses the man who created the GSD breed (aka isolated traits from a diverse population) pairing dogs with their daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and onwards til more than 1/2 of the pups had to be culled. due you think this could be partially responsible for the health issues remaining more than a century later? "Very drastic inbreeding was espoused during the formation of the breed [...] to quickly form specific type" - The German Shepherd Dog by Ernest H Hart
Certainly.
This is called line breeding, where the offspring of a ‘perfect’ individual are repeatedly bred back to the same individual generation upon generation to try to recreate it. All you really do is lose genetic diversity very quickly and allow recessive deleterious genes to proliferate in the population.
This is why just about everywhere else that’s not the purebred pet world, this is considered a bad thing to do.
@eyestumblin said: Do you think horses would look significantly different if their wonky anatomy were more logical?
They would no longer be a horse.
@cirque-du-spoon said: I saw you mention sheep on the horse thread and I spent a fair bit of time on a sheep farm in Wales. The head shepherd once told me "sheep are born, they spend the rest of their life trying to die". Then he opened his landrover door, and the passenger footwell was maybe 6 lambs snuggled up to one of his old motherly collies.
The common phrase down here was “The aim in life of a Merino ewe is to die and take fifty of her friends with her.” It’s not really much of an exaggeration.
Anonymous said: I'm intrigued to hear the faults of sheep, lay it on me!
Oh I will. It’s on my list for a big write up.
@queenalia said: Hi! I love the post about why horses make no sense, and I was wondering if you would do a similar one for sheep (one of the most suicidal animals on earth in my opinion)?
It will definitely be done sometime in the next few weeks. As you understand, it’s not  quick answer.
@vulturegeorge said: Hey Dr.F, after reeding your "horses-are-spindily-legged-disasters" post and your comment about how sheep are worse, I was wondering if you wished to elaborate? I am currently working on a heard of 50 random sheep my uni bought with a ton of lung issues ... so it'd be super interesting to me. Question tax: came for the Lucifer story, stayed for all of your amazing advice & opinions. I hope you are finding balance between vetting and living. cheers!
I promise I will elaborate. I can’t leave a cliff hanger like that and not explain... eventually.

Berry Buttermilk Scones
We all blasted through the front door a few hours ago, feet dirty and a bit exhausted from a full day of blueberry picking — something that’s become a bit of a family tradition in late July ever since Oliver was born. We have photos out in the field with O in the baby carrier, chubby legs swaying in the breeze while I obsessively applied sunscreen every ten minutes. Last year found Oliver and his friend Lewis traipsing through the rows of berries together in the late morning hours, eating more than we ended up taking home. This year’s photos tell a different story: Oliver and I in a big open field used for overflow parking, he sitting on his little potty, me singing songs and chatting away, the sun beating down on the two of us. We’re deep in the thick of potty training, so as it turned out, Sam and Oliver’s Aunt Christa did the brunt of the picking today. But Oliver and I had some good talks while staying hydrated, people watching, and eating Sour Cream and Onion Kettle chips. Not a bad way to spend a morning. And really, it’s never about how many berries we bring home because neither of these years have proven to be particularly bountiful, but it just never feels like high summer until we get out there and start filling our buckets, however slowly.
I’d promised you a savory baking recipe today but I’m still testing it, so instead I bring you mixed berry scones! And no, I didn’t just whip these up using the berries we picked this afternoon because, well, I’m just not that much of a sorceress. But I love this scone recipe for a few reasons, most importantly: their simplicity. I flirted with the idea of calling them Vacation Scones — you know those recipes you kind of keep memorized or you kind of roughly pull together when you’re traveling and they manage to somehow always taste great? For me, I can make an impromptu fruit crisp wherever I may be without a recipe and can make pretty respectable pancakes. These scones are simple enough to start to add to that list: they don’t have any fussy ingredients (I’m looking at you, lemon zest), they don’t require any rolling or turning or cutting butter into the dough (I use a food processor for ease and speed), and they’re easily adaptable. I dig them.
And I did promise I’d share a few other things I’ve been into lately as the summer ticks on. I have a pretty decent commute now with my new job, so I’ve been listening to more podcasts, have been forcing myself to read more in the evenings, and have bookmarked some new recipes. So here’s a quick and loose list of a few of those things:
An American Marriage by Tayari Jones: I’m ashamed to say I have a few pages left of this novel and there’s no good reason (other than I can’t keep my eyes open at night) because it’s such a rich, beautifully-written story and I can’t recommend it enough. On the surface it’s about a marriage, but it speaks so much to the different kinds of love, how time changes people, and the different versions of ourselves that we discover along the way.
Like a Mother by Angela Garbes: I haven’t read this book! So why recommend it? I have MANY friends who have and it’s on my ‘next to read’ list. I love the recent handful of books coming out that speak to a bit of a different experience of pregnancy, labor and motherhood than is portrayed in What to Expect When You’re Expecting. From the description, “With the curiosity of a journalist, the perspective of a feminist, and the intimacy and urgency of a mother, she explores the emerging science behind the pressing questions women have about everything from miscarriage to complicated labors to postpartum changes.” Let’s read this, shall we?!
Momrage Podcast: My online homie Amelia Morris has come out with a really interesting podcast along with her friend Edan Lepucki. They delve into questions about motherhood that are often unpopular or skirted around. And I love that they’re doing it; it’s about time.
Tully: Ok, so at first I didn’t like this movie. I even texted my friend Julie and commiserated with her about our mutual dislike for it. The day after though, after thinking about it in the shower for quite some time, I decided it actually resonated more than I gave it credit for. I love Charlize Theron and, without giving too much away, this film offers a unique and important glimpse into postpartum mental health.
Girls Night In: While I think I’m not necessarily the target age here (I’m guessing it’s more like early 30’s), I’ve been surprised with how much I enjoy this newsletter. It’s really well done, smartly written and always has a few links that interest me.
Green Chile Chicken Verde (in the Instant Pot!): As I mentioned, I (very) reluctantly gave into the craze: I’m the (reluctant) owner of a new Instant Pot and this recipe is calling my name. What else should I make?!
Instant Pot Tomato White Beans: It’s been really too hot to do major cooking this week, so when I stumbled across this recipe, it was immediately bookmarked. I’ve heard that making beans in the Instant Pot is a real game changer, and I’m looking forward to keying up this recipe to find out what all the hype’s about.
Our Favorite Vegan Ice Cream: More often than not we have a pint of Frankie and Jo’s in the freezer. It’s not cheap, but it’s hands down the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had and just so happens to be a few blocks from our house (but they also ship!). I love the Berries and Cultured Cream flavor this month. So good.
Pin recipe Print recipe
These whole grain scones aren’t too sweet and are a great way to use up a glut of summer berries. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or blueberries all work great here (I used a mixture of raspberries and blackberries). As you’re making the dough, remember that flour is your friend: if your dough feels too wet or you’re sticking to your work surface, just add a bit more! These are best the day you bake them, but are still great the second day if stored in an airtight container. Beyond that, freeze them for future weekday breakfasts.
Ingredients
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons (280g) Bob's Red Mill organic whole wheat flour, plus more for work surface
1/3 cup (75g) turbinado sugar, plus more for the tops
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup buttermilk, plus more for the tops
1 heaping cup (160g/5.5oz) berries
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In the bowl of a food processor, pulse together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add the butter and pulse until it’s incorporated into tiny pebble-size pieces. Slowly add the buttermilk through the feed tube, stopping right when the dough starts to come together.
Turn the dough out onto a well-floured work surface. Place your berries on top and fold the dough over a few times until the berries have been incorporated (they’ll likely be kind of hiding in the center layer there, which is great; you can’t mess this step up … just get those berries in there as messy as it may seem). Add a little more flour to the dough if it’s sticking to the surface.
Form the dough into a rectangle shape (do the best you can here; it’s totally acceptable to have different shaped scones, so it really doesn’t matter). Slice into 9 large scones or 16 small scones.
Quickly transfer to prepared baking sheet. Brush the scones with a little buttermilk and sprinkle with extra sugar. Bake for 20-24 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges. Best if enjoyed within two days of baking.

News24 How coloured are you? 2008-06-30 13:07 Cape Town - I am fairly dark-skinned with dark hair and have often been mistaken for being Portuguese, Greek, Italian and Israeli (but mostly Portuguese). I am actually half-German and half-Afrikaans. So when I told friends at the office that I had once also been mistaken for being coloured, they all burst out laughing. I was deeply and profoundly offended. So they took pity on me, and a few of my coloured co-workers began introducing me to the complex and evolved life of the Cape coloured. (I was told if you want to be coloured, you have to be from Cape Town). Apparently coloured people from Joburg don't really qualify. Sorry. The coloured lifestyle is an intricate and complicated puzzle with millions of confusing little pieces. It involves things like gatsbys, the Galaxy club, where you live, not only how you drink, but what you drink - and where. You've gotta like gatsbys For instance, a gatsby (for the uninitiated, this is a large roll with polony - I'm not calling it ham - and deep-fried chips. If it doesn't spill onto the ground when you try to eat it, it's not a gatsby). I like gatsbys, no problem. Ok, says a friend, but you have to drink brandy too. "With Klippies?", asks another colleague innocently, joining in the Coloured Education of Andrea. "No!" scream the coloured friends in horror...(as all Afrikaners know, Klipdrift is the exclusive domain of the Boerevolk.) No, I'm informed, with Betrams. So far so good, I'm prepared to do all that. The problem starts when I hear that I wouldn't be able to be a sturvey (that's an uppity coloured), which I was gunning for of course. I don't want to be a gangster from the Badlands! But my colleague is firm on this, I couldn't be a sturvey because apparently, I "rafel uit too much". At this point I'm beginning to get despondent. Then I hear that, as a coloured, I wouldn't be able to take my gatsby home and eat it with a knife and fork in front of the telly. No, it must be eaten on top of the bonnet of your car. Also, this has to happen late at night when you come back from a night at the Galaxy club. This is another problem - I'm not a clubber, after all, I'm virtually in an old-age home, being over thirty. How big are your mags? Then it gets more complicated - I'm asked how big the mags are on my car, what kind of music I listen to and whether I'd be prepared to undergo an intensive language course. Because, yes, for those of you who thought coloured people speak Afrikaans and English, think again. If you are really coloured you will know that anyone asking you "waar brand dit" is not referring to a fire in the neighbourhood, but is asking you where "it's happening" or the party is going on. I couldn't help wondering if the Chinese community in SA would be feeling the same sort of despair I was. In the past week, a Pretoria court ruled that they should from now on be classified as coloured and be included in the definition of "black people" in laws, including black economic empowerment legislation, which has been established to help previously disadvantaged groups. Following this groundbreaking ruling, the Labour Minister made some strange comments in the media, saying that he was now expecting Chinese people to behave more like black people (seeing as how they are now coloured people, I assume he meant - behave like coloured people.) I'm not sure if he thought they should start eating gatsbys and going to the Galaxy club. He also said they should start assimilating the coloured culture by learning a local language, which put in my mind some Chinese people driving up to an Asian noodle bar in a car with huge, shiny mags and asking the fella behind the counter, "Hoezit my bra, ek't lis vir 'n dite".* *Translation. Dite (pronounced like "date" with an i refers to being hungry and wanting some grub, mostly though, it refers to - you guessed it - a gatsby." (** Oh, before you type me the hate mail, I know not ALL coloured people drink Betram's and eat gatsbys or go to the Galaxy. Only the cool ones, of course...) Send your comments to Andrea. LOL!!! Nunzio - 2008-06-30 16:00 Good article I must say. Remembered the days we used to go to Goodhope centre for the Cape malay choir fest. then go down to the Grand Parade for a lekker gatsby and Fiesta juice. Dredger - 2008-06-30 16:01 Very funny,a good read after all the other depressing news around. We know its just stereotypes on the coloured community, but all races have stereotypes which get used for humour. Ferril - 2008-06-30 16:02 Exactly... I agree with Ekke!! Its not to degrade anyone. The article, and many more people like to reminisce about the good old days. Never to forget where they come from! Good grief, and what makes coloureds 'kwaai' in my opinion... is the fact that they are people who think for themselves and BETTER themselves not forgetting where they come from! Respek n disiplinne! Puffy - 2008-06-30 16:03 We the only country in the world where there are blacks, coloureds. Everywhere there are only two groups you either black, asian, caucasion or latin. I hate this term coloured. It make people think like in the past that they are better than a certain race. tauzty - 2008-06-30 16:16 I'm pne proud coloured not blck but coloured lekker article bra... You forgot to mention the car's soos die Toys Opel bins aka datsuns nissans and die res... soe Next time stiek uit by us and we'll gooi you some moves . Kevin - 2008-06-30 16:20 No wonder South Africa is stuffed. All those who took this article seriously and thought that "coloured" people in general are being stereotyped, have had a sense of humour failure. You are not as important as you think you are and if your sensitivities have been offended, then all I can say is.. shame, you poor, serious, sanctimonius, boring as hell, filled with self-importance plonkers much like the accountant fellow who drinks whiskey (I rest my case). bogi - 2008-06-30 16:23 I'm a 27yr old coloured male from Corrie. I'm educated, successful and a home owner in a 'white area'. Most of my coloured friends are in the same position. But, I love my coloured people. I loved my childhood. Walking home from s'gal, visiting the meddies, oupa specials, rum dashed with coke and a china fruit... I could go on! Weather it's Athlone, Eldo's, Eersterust or Die Kas, keep on keeping on, my bruino's. Oh, before I forget, you cannot touch the beauty of a coloured sister. HOLA HOSH!!! Lemming - 2008-06-30 16:24 Loved the article Andrea. Sounds like you have a great sense of humour. Coupled with your "fairly dark skin", you're probably my type. Are you busy Friday night? The fisherman - 2008-06-30 16:25 What the hell is wrong with people? Half of you are a bunch of sensitive ar*e wipes with no sense of humour. I don't cry when I get called "soutie" or "rooinek" or whitey etc. I laugh along and respond accordingly. STOP BEING ANAL South Africa. Zola - 2008-06-30 16:27 people this is funny and nice those who say this is racist needs to get a life dont take everything personal pleaseee Jaco - 2008-06-30 16:29 This was a very, very enjoyable piece and I thank you for it. Scanning the comments, it is clear that so many of our citizens are filled with bitterness and nothing else, but please know that anyone with a decent sense of interpretation will know that you intended absolutely no malice or stereotyping, and your affection for the 'gam' lifestyle was also well evident between the lines. High fives, and thanks once again. Tygerburger - 2008-06-30 16:38 They were not white enough in the bad days, however, they are black enough in the new days. Congratulations my Chinese brothers and sisters! kaiser - 2008-06-30 16:38 the only thing i know about coloured they get drunk,fight..swear's break things, stabs sanything that moves Valda - 2008-06-30 16:39 read the article in anticipation that after your sensless steriotypical drivel there would be some positive highlights to being coloured...like our contribution to the struggle, the arts and Cape Towns positive charms in general. Names like Taliep Petersen spring to mind. I dont know about being a "sturvey". In all other races its considered progress to rise above - get an education and speak proper English but no not when you are coloured! U know nothing so "HOU JOU BEK" Hows that for coloured? Mokaobere - 2008-06-30 16:41 I think I appreciate the diversity of S.A. and the passion of humanity. To me personal identity is very important. I am a proudly Mosotho South African, Finish en klaar. I am not gonna be fooled by people who preached about abolishing of the colour. I am always aware what other races' perceptions are on S.A. Africans. So I won't turn a blind eye on that... kam - 2008-06-30 16:42 Butbutbut now I wanna be a coloured from Cpt :( nWo - 2008-06-30 16:43 Comeon get a sense of humour and stop being so tight arsed out everything... Q80 - 2008-06-30 16:50 Now pay attention, this is how you spell: educated, coloured, neighbourhood, won't. The free lesson ends here. So, here is also the answer to your question: YOU BET we don't believe you! Dom doos. Pensive - 2008-06-30 16:54 Maybe what she meant was: "she was offended that ppl were laughing at her being mistaken for a colored" and not "she was offended at being mistaken for a colored" Why not clarify first before you jump to conclusions? Pensive - 2008-06-30 16:58 Colin, i believe she states at the beginning that her "education" was from her "colored co-workers". Whats with you ppl not reading the entire article. Your like a dog with a bone, you pick on something and cant let go... JR - 2008-06-30 17:13 There is a lot love/hate going on about being a coloured or not,but in all honesty if you have not experienced the culture then you will not and cannot understand the humour in it. Identifying with your culture is as important as breathing, some things are instinctive and this often mistaken as being racist.Black, brown, white or coloured I am proud to be South African. So what if you have not eaten a gatsby or had some klippies and cola.Proudly SA Confused - 2008-06-30 17:16 Amien : What do you prefer to be referred to as regards to racial group then? LMAO - 2008-06-30 17:22 The best thing about this article and the reason why so many people seem offended by it, is that it in so many aspects so true. If you cannot laugh at this then it proves that you are not from Cape Town or just don't get Cape Town. Here in the Cape we can laugh at ourselves. And if I may be blunt without the people being described in this article Cape Town will stop existing, next you will start shouting that the klopse on new years is racist. Dubai Expat - 2008-06-30 17:23 What a lekker article. I'm not from CT but did the Gal and Gatsby and ooh so many Bertrams. So the article brought about a chuckle and fond memories of a funfilled youth as a coloured laaitie. so far from home it's great to have a laugh at who we really are, even if now we drink Blue Label and wear Armani - dont forget your roots and stop being so damn touchy... Fast Dave - 2008-06-30 17:27 I can't believe the okes beetching and moaning here... This is quite a funny article (although I've seen funnier). Come now, chill out, have a laugh. Stereotypful jokes can very funny. If you don't see the funny side of this, you can't be a true South African... GailC - 2008-06-30 18:24 As one of the educated coloured poets of our country would say, Christopher van Wyk, we can learn to laugh at each other. I was born in Zambia in the same year of apartheid creation and I want to get to know the people I wasn't permitted to know then and yes I have been into a township or two or three. People need people, race should be unimportant, that's what we voted for. We're all one blood when we are cut. I have friends of varying colours. GailC - 2008-06-30 18:31 like crazy, retard, racist. I walked past a display in a big bookstore not so long ago and got sick to my stomach for the people who were so discriminated against because of colour and hair. Can you believe it was a bench with "Whites Only"? What poor and offensive taste they showed using that as their centrepiece even if it was to do with 16 June and SA week. Rodders - 2008-06-30 18:50 Couldn't agree more, our coloured honeys are some of the best - but that's what I like best about our Rainbow nation: we've got gorgeous chocolate babes, lovely coloured honeys, stunning Indian chicks, and that's before I even get on to the Asian and pale-skinned ladies that live here... ...Damn, but it's good to live in SA!!! pages: 1234

Interview 02
How are you?
Umm im pretty good, pretty tired, had two nights that I stayed up but I slept last night, glad its friday
What were you doing?
I was finishing my paperwork for blackfish gallery. I was nominating to get into the blackfish gallery this summer. Had to make a CV last minute and working on jens stuff (A321)
What is your name?
Sohaina martitia
What is your age?
24
What gender do you identify as?
Female
What have you done today so far?
I just got up and showered and i was supposed to work on stuff but i just watched youtube and then came to class.
What are the things that have been on your mind today?
What's been the most enjoyable part of you of your day so far?
I went to get a boba smoothie. That has been the best part of my day cause I haven't been there in awhile and i like that place.
Is there something your looking forward too?
I am looking forward to a lot of things but I am very nervous about them. I am looking forward to them because they are great opportunities. Also looking forward to my family coming up because I am walking. That's all i can think of right now.
What is the most important thing that matters to you at the moment?
Graduating and surviving and surviving this term because it been crazy. Graduating and getting stuff together before graduating but i am not too concerned about getting a job right out of the gat.
Do you work? If so how many hours a week and what sort of job is it? / do you work on site or at home (or alternate location)
No
What are some things you like to do on the weekends?
I really like to read fanfiction, watch youtube, i dont really like going out alot so i stay home alot, so that been my life the last couple months. So ya those are the things i like to do.
Is there something you do on the weekend that you don't do during the week?
Mostly cleaning honestly because during the week because thats the only time I have to do it.
What is your living situation like?
I live with my roommate right now. Shes my bestfriend we moved out here together.  Two bedroom apartment. I have been slacking so its kinda dirty. Somes me and my roommate dont actually get time to talk to each other because of our schedules. I would love to change that actually eventually.
Is your living space organized to help you accomplish your tasks or goals, whatever they may be?
Its organized but probably not to the best of its potential. I can find things  where they are but sometimes I can’t find things.  I would say its like midway.
If so, what does that look like to you?
If not do you wish it was?
What kinds of chores did you do during childhood/teenage years?I did alot because my mom is a single mom and she was a fulltime intructor at our community college. So when we came home from school there would be all these chores to do. I had to sweep and mop everyday. My mom and grandma really like a clean space because thats how they grew up. It was never spotless but as long as we did our chores it was ok. Taking out the trash, feeding the dogs, hanging the clothes on the lines, pulling the clothes off lines, fixing the couch, vacuuming the carpet, watering plants.
From child to teenager? Ya
Would you say you actively seek out new things to try?
I do try to seek them out it's just a matter of of going through with it. I do look for things but its like ‘do i have time to go and do it?’ I would say i do look for new opportunities, its just do i go though with them?
What are some of your goals for your daily life?
I really want to get healthier and i want to establish a more active lifestyle and a better diet. So thats been the goal for a long time o feel like cuz it hard especially as a student. You have a lot of stuff to do and no time to do it. That and also maintaining a cleaner environment cuz my room is quick to get messy, it gets disorganized easily and then i have to push it off. So i think like establishing habits that create a healthier environment for me and my body. So thats like my daily goal that i would like to accomplish.
What are some of your goals in general?
Career wise I really  want to try working at a small to medium studio that focuses on movie-making or like film. I want to try that environment. Maybe even get an internship. I wanna find a place where I want to work (like do research for where/companies I would like to work at)
What are some things that make you feel proud of yourself?
When people like the work that I do cuz i dont like the work i do a lot so it makes me proud when other people like it.
What activities give you the most satisfaction?
Cleaning, cuz it  feels nice to have it all finished afterwords. Having the kitchen all clean and stuff, that really satisfying for me. Also finishing a project and the product at the end is really satisfying. Maybe finishing a book.
What sort of things do you to relieve stress?
Mostly I watch lik shows or lay in bed reading fanfiction. Thats what i find myself doing the most. It really takes you out of daily life mindset, like surfing the internet or whatever. Its just very therapeutic
What is something you wish you had more time to do?
Work on my own art. I feel like i could probably make time to do that but its just really hard to do that. I feel like focusing more on learning the skills that I want to do. I have a lot of things on my list.
What kinds of things take up most of your time?
I think cleaning is a big one because sometime i leave things to the point where i need to clean it right now and at that point it takes a long time too clean it. That and schoolwork.
How do you feel after you have completed a task?
How do you reward yourself?
Freetime and doing the things I like , thats my main reward. And also food. I will tell myself that if I like stay up long enough to finish this work then i can go get mcDonalds or something. It probably not the best thing to do but its whats working for me right now.
How often do you successfully use these rewards to motivate yourself?
How much time do you take just for yourself?
I think I take alot of time for myself, especially since i don't like really going out and doing stuff outside of what i am doing now which is school. No time no energy
What are the most frustrating aspects of your daily activities/ day?
I am mostly just frustrated with myself when i don't utilize my time in a way i know i probably could have. Which is why i am such a procrastinator and leave thing to the last minute which is a big frustration. So i think my frustration is mostly myself
Time management and motivation.
What time of day do you tend to do your work/chores/ homework?
Do you feel like you have a good balance between work and personal life?
No. Like i was saying I dont do much. I am going to have to say no because i am a procrastinator so a balance is needed. I need that in my life.
How consistent is your schedule?
The only consistent thing is class time. Feels like i dont have a consistant order of things. Dont feelm consistant at all. Part of what contributes to procrastination
Can you describe a typical day for you from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed?
What time of day do you feel the most alert/happy
At night.
When does night start for you?
Evening hours around 5 and beyond. I like to stay up late and feel the most awake at night uless i am really tired
What do you think having a routine means?
Feel like routine are habits and consistency.
What are somethings you do everyday and every week?
Youtube
Do you have a daily/weekly routine(s) If so, What are some of your daily/weekly routines?
What tools do you use to plan or remind yourself of activities or a routine if any?
Mostly google calendar, make lists of things i need to do.
What are the things you put in your calendar?
Mostly big dates that include other people like my mom coming up for graduation or if i am going to meet up with someone. Really important dates that i cant forget, or even movie release dates that i really want to see. Big, big stuff that i have to remember
Do you ever keep track of what you have done during the day?
Only when i ave a list of things i have to do like homework. Dont keep track of things like if i have gone to the store
Do you think having a daily routine would/does benefit you? Why or why not?
I think so. I want a routine but its just finding a way to do it...just establishing habits that create a routine, like maybe getting up at a certain time and going to bed at a certain time. I feel like it would add a stability
Have you done any research / read articles about having a routine?
Definitely, like i watch videos. I have and i have tried some of them
How often would you say you search for things involving lifestyle: blogs, articles, magazines etc.
At least once a month, sometime it just coomes up in my f=feeed and i go down the rabbit hole
Would you be interesting in learning how to best establish and stick to a routine?
Yes, i would love that, that would be helpful
What would that look like to you?
I think it could be a list of things to do that help get you to your goal. Sometime i forget to do things because it's not a habit
Do you use technology for planning and/or reminders? If so, what are your favorite tools/programs.
I try to  but has trouble investing the time to put stuff in the app or bullet journal and maintain. Its hard to keep up with it. Time and laziness
Why are those your favorite?
What are some of your favorite apps to use? Why those? How do you use them? How often do you use them?
Mostly instagram, youtube, calculator, spotify, netflix, hulu, dont really use my phone for other things besides those
If you could make a app for keeping track of a routine what would be some of the features you would want?
Customizable tasks and library of tasks, color coordinator, ability to print out a schedule, notifications to remind you.
Section for goals?
Yeah, I think that would be helpful, portion for short term and long term goals, ability to set aside time to work toward long term goals as well.
Have you ever failed to stick to a routine?
Yes,
If so, why do you think that was?
Forgetting and not wanting to do what i am notified to do, problems with motivation and willpower. Reward system to get motivation.
Do you have any medical conditions that you think might affect your ability to stick to a regular schedule or routine?
Do you think your profession has an impact on your routine?
To what degree do you think other people impact your routine?
At the moment not really that much.
Would you be more likely to do something if someone was holding you accountable?
Yeah,
If so what does that accountability look like?
If we came back in any number of  years to have this conversation again, what would you like to be different?
I would like to have a routine.
More control over my life
Self control
Be more motivated
Stable financially
Is there anything I’ve missed that you would like to tell me?
No
Any questions?

2016 update! (part three) (last one)
August, 2016
I got an offer from ums. that time i was checking thru sms.
“Tahniah, anda di tawarkan ke Universiti Malaysia Sabah, kos HC13.”
What the hell is hc13 and i was actually expecting something related w food. (yeap science again just for the sake of ibu) eg: food tech, nutritionist, blabla. but it was actually an e-commerce. and never once in my life i heard about e-commerce. i did a lot of research. i asked everyone what is e-commerce. i checked the job oppurtinity. i was reluctant at first. bcs i told my friend, i mmg want to further at sabah but i wont go if got a nonsense course. i was really clueless that time. but my dad really support me. he asked me that it was ok. just go w the flow. thats it. i finally accept the offer. went for the orientation. and was really close to jiji since then.
September, 2016
I fall in love w the beauty of labuan. people at labuan started to address me as bella/belle instead of nab. so whenever i heard someone call me ‘nab’ at labuan, i feel weird. basically, whenever i am at labuan, its alright to call me bella/belle. anw like ji and tia, they still stick to nab instead bella/belle. i also went hiking too for the very first time in my life. at bukit kubong. 148 above the sea. one of the highest places at labuan. (besides umskal building) i also starts to experience celebrating hari raya aidiladha at labuan. at first in the morning after solat sunat hari raya, we went to one of the lecturer’s house which basically she’s also once a umskal student, to have some celebration at her house. we gather w the seniors from second, third and fourth year w from both faculty, (fki and fkal). i started w taekwondo again but mehhhh. it was only lasts for a day. bcs i stopped for a while and i forgot almost everything. so sad. plus my stamina pun out. so i decided to quit. (does it sounds like i’m giving up?)
October, 2016
Ghost house to gain some money for umskal got talent event. went inside to experience it but i was really scared tho i kenal every one yg jadi hantu. theres one day i went wall climbing and i cant go any higher bcs i am too heavy (gotta admit that) and teman ji and tia played futsal at night. a productive day i can say. its also the month i started to feel like i fall for my crush when i randomly record him make a cendol. (sorry, ex-crush) like, out of nowhere. but think back, i think i fall for him earlier when i first met him at klia. used to like him. used. sewa kereta at friday for 2 hours just for the sake of nasi kerabu at kedai ganu w ji and tia lol. and oh, fki family day. i was reluctant to go at first which i didnt sign up my name at first. ended up, someone said to me, “kau tak pergi fki family day, kau siap belle bila aku jumpa kau” and i terus muncul tetiba at the bus stop, that morning. hehhh. also, umskal got talent was held on october. had some problems when kertas undi tak cukup, so kak tyka and i, run naik atas level 3 to print a new one. i freaking run. i think i lost about 2.1kg that night. that was on semi final. its actually good to have some activity to do at night besides sleep. like i usually do. during the final, which was held 2 weeks after, it was good. had some problems too. tired, but satisfied. it was my first event that i joined, and it was good. i started to drive back since i left it about a year+ not driving. yeah i dont have problem in driving except not being able to drive properly, bad in guessing the distance between the car that i drove and the car behind me, took hours to park the car, and the list goes on. at the end of october, went to kk city during the mid sem break. it was my first time reached there. i went w jiji, and her friend, hamir came all the way from johor bahru. the planning was upside down i can say lol. from the hotel, food, transportation, shopping, all messed up. sokay we learnt from experience hahaha.
November, 2016
Took class photo. yeah class photo. i was lazy at first but just bcs my friend, she put such efforts to coax me and join the class photo, so i came all the way from cafe to menara. had mandarin midterm at menara. i thought i’ve done my best, but the results came out makes me feels like mehhhhh. struggling w e-commerce 3k words assignment, which i thought should be handed on 10th November but end up the lecturer said it supposed to be handed on the 10th weeks of lecture. me being me, me and last minutes works are really like a best friend. best friend for ever till jannah. told myself should change to a better me but meh. lets hope i’ll change one day. bought a new sneakers when i lost one pair of my freaking new shoes. tipulah if i said i didnt sad. but mybe not my rezeki kot. big thing happened on november i think was, tamu gadang event. from protocol to urusetia. tired but i really like the experiences. during the graduate run, i was supposedly get ready by 4am, ended up i woke up late and i was there at 4.30am or is it 5am. i really have problem when it comes to wake up early in the morning. big, problem. and i just realize the pokestop at umskal suddenly went missing. i was really sad that time. no kidding. went to palm beach resort after find some things for sispa booth. main buai while enjoying the scenery there. really makes me fall in love w nature, beach, and labuan.
December, 2016
Karkomkal event. since i joined sispa, i will join karkomkal for 3 semesters. bcs sispa is actually badan beruniform and have to take till my third semester. means what? on the next sem, others are enjoying wake up late, and i’ll be rushing on saturday morning for sispa lecture lol. indian cultural night, we (me, ji, and tia) didnt take part in that event bcs we are lazy already. and accidentally wore red, some color w them. what a coincidence. had titas presentation too on december w the most 1 malaysia group ever. 1 chinese, 1 sarawakian, 2 malays, and 2 indians. its good to get the chance to mix w all the races especially when you are out from yr zone. also, our programming group project. took us about 1 night to do it, and about less than 2 days to find and fix error and we did it. and i really thought that ‘class’ wont be came out during final but then, paapppp! 35marks. trust me i didnt revise about ‘class’. anw, we received a compliment from our tutor! goodjob mates xoxo. tak sia sia i skip ugt family day just bcs i had to stick on the screen to find the error on my group project lol. basically last class for every subject. bcs final is approaching that time. and last but not least, my 2016 ended w sispa final exam.
My 2016 update finally comes to the end. the last 5 months in 2016 basically were my first semester of degree journey. remember when i said i badly want to further in IT related? i really grateful when i didnt give up for matrics, my result was just passed, and i didnt get what my parents wants but god put me nicely in what i deserve. hence, e-commerce. tho at first idk a thing about e-commerce, but day by day, i realize it flows in me since i was small. god plans is always great. i might merungut all the time but i know everything happens for reasons and great thing will finally come. you just have to wait and have faith in allah.
And i am really sorry bcs it took me a month to do this update. but believe me, i was actually very sad, when a friend of mine, suddenly was not my friend anymore, those great time i used to have are now tinggal memories, it saddens me. really. every pictures have its own story. and i realize how people change, day by day, month by month, year by year. even myself. and i am happy for everyone, especially my friends. prayers are all goes to them. take care my lovely friends. still friend or not, still contact or have lost contact, thanks for making my life memorable. thanks bcs you used to be there. i wish you to have a better life. and those who are still w you, or w us, treasure them. bcs we dont know till when they will stick to us. till then. :)
P/s: no pictures on this post update bcs even theres no picture in this, its too long already. no. actually bcs i have problem in transferring pictures from my phone to pc. anyio.
