Mulder, the Arcadia Trophy Husband

Another reason Arcadia is amazing.

Neighborly Pat of Arcadia fame looked at the Petries--

heard that Mulder was a stay-at-home ("which is great for Laura because she gets me all to herself~")

and told the rest of the neighbors: "I, uh, didn't really learn much about them. He just said he works at home, which tells me she's got money."

Hinting Mulder was a trophy husband who lived off the back of his

#1. rich heiress wife or

#2. boss babe wife.

And the neighbors are surprised but fully supportive.

Which is even funnier when Mulder shocks the Schroeders into believing Scully is into New Age garbage since they assumed she was a savvy businesswoman-- now she looks like a rich woman who snagged a handsome cheerleader who dabbles at home while she overspends in Goop-like scam businesses. Mulder is savage.

It's the perfect subterfuge because the rest of the neighbors just accept he's a himbo, stepping around him to "fix" every mess he creates in his own interest (which leaves Mulder room to mess with them and push them into awkward situations to reveal more about the community's dark underbelly.)
