AAHHHHHHHH, I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY. i've been hoping hard that Zhang Luyi will be in a modern crime drama next, AND HE'S FILMING ONE IN OCT!!!

this iqiyi show (not sure if it's a part of the light on series) is called justifiable defense which involves three connected cases, and one of them was from 10 years ago. the focus will be on self defense. Zhang Luyi is going to play the male lead which is a prosecutor. the rest of the cast is awesome too, like gao ye (大嫂 from the knockout), and bai jingting (i like reset a lot). the scriptwriter is the one who wrote the 1st season of under the skin. the cinematographer is going to be one who also worked on the bad kids/hidden corner. basically we seem to have a A+ cast and crew ready do kick some ass.

i read the summary and it looks like zly's character got himself tangled in a murder case at some point, and the female lead (another prosecutor played by gao ye) ends up proofing that he's innocent. I'm just like for the nth time why does he have to suffer in almost every damn drama lol...(running joke between the fans: name 1 drama that he didn't cry or get beaten up/tortured lol)

anyways, it also looks like this show is going to tackle some social issues especially the women related ones which is awesome. i'm not surprised because they hired the writer for 1st season of under the skin. i just simply can't wait to watch the show, and hopefully it will air next year. i so need some good crime cdramas.
