So i finished Black Sun. It was all right. The more I think about it the less I like it. Xiala and Serapio’s relationship gave me really bad Ick because it feels like the relationship is mutual, but involves a shit ton of pressure on Xiala’s side, like she keeps pushing his boundaries and pressuring him about sex while insisting it’s totally fine he didn’t immediately have sex with her because she definitely respects that, definitely. It winds up with Serapio, I guess, like fingering her right before he goes off to do his clan prophecy thing, and although he was attracted to her in the story it feels like literally the only reason he did that was because she kept mentioning sex. It feels really gross and forced on his side. I hate their romance so much. I hated it before all that and it just got worse.
