#the only problem was that she wasn't being fully honest about even herself (her identity)

ok i think i need to say this now bc this 'war' between bylers and milevens is just stupid. there's a lot of facts both sides are misunderstanding just to defend their fav shipps, so let's review them.
in seasons 1-2, Mike DID love Eleven. bylers can not deny it. but it was a kids love, specially protective. it wasn't "first sight love" either. at first Mike's priority was finding Will, and he saw a way to find him in El, while she saw a way to be safe from the "bad guys" in Mike.
But they did care a lot about each other, too much maybe, together, they learned what love was. but, being honest, el wasn't ready for a relationship. i mean, cmon, she could barely talk.
through seasons 2-4 she needed to find herself. to find out about her identity, her family and abilities. Max helped a lot on season 3. and it's here where everything changes.
Will is definitely in love with Mike in seasons 3-4. it's not a crush, he loves him. he wants Mike to be happy even if that means sacrificing his own feelings (as we saw in the van scene, where he used his real feelings on El's behalf to encourage Mike)
I think seasons 1-2 are also the starting point for byler development, but in a 'friends to lovers' way, unlike mileven, that was shown as a 'first sight love'
Mike really cared about Will in the first two seasons. In season one, his priority was to find and save him. In the second one, protect him. (Will was already falling in love at this point)
S1= Mike spent his time protecting El, while he was thinking/worrying about Will
S2= Mike spent his time protecting Will, while he was thinking/worrying about El.
And it's all about this. For Mike it has always been one or the other.
And this is why everything changes in season 3.
They were all together now, so Mike had to choose who spend his time with. His friends, or his girlfriend. Will started to complain about this, bc mike didn't necessarily have to choose between one or the other, but he did. He pushed Will away even knowing he was the reason for everything they have been through the last two years.
On this season Mike had conflicts with both El and Will. He really tried to solve both of them, but it was way easier for him to apologize to Will first. He realised then, that he didn't fully know El, she did not even fully know herself until she dumped Mike. Meanwhile, he had known Will basically all his life.
This caused some confusion, but it was paused because the group had bigger problems to solve.
After the battle, many things had to change. Will and El were moving to California together, they were going to be siblings now.
During the farewell scene, Mike's confusion was so noticeable.
When El told Mike she loved him too, and then kissed him, he didn't even answer or close his eyes, he just stayed like this 🕴
But, when Will told him he wasn't going to join another party, he seemed really happy about it, even knowing it was a really sad moment for both of them.
After this, he went back home and... this parallel happened. In both scenes he thought he had lost (or was losing) Will.
What an interesting season finale.
Then we finally got s4, fkn god i just love this season.
We have :
Will definitely and obviously still in love with Mike, but hopeless.
Eleven back on her way to find herself, but still dating Mike.
Will, Jonathan and El being now 'siblings'
When Mike arrives to California, we saw how he rejected will's hug. It was weird, because they were supposed to be in 'good terms'.
Mike gave all of his attention to Eleven, but he never said 'I love you' to her, even when El was begging for him to say it. The only person that could get mike to tell eleven that he loves her was Will.
But, we also had a Byler discussion at the rink-o-mania, where Mike complains about Will being a douche and distant. So, Will also complains to Mike saying that he only called him a couple of times.
In episode 8, we discovered Mike did try to call, but the phone line was always busy. Will wasn't ignoring his calls, and Mike didn't forget about Will. But they both misunderstood the situation.
They didn't communicate their feelings very well. That's why their relationship was so awkward.
We also discovered Mike likes being a protector, he likes to be needed, and that's the main (and maybe the only) reason he keeps dating El.
Will gave his painting to Mike. The painting he has worked on for months, the painting he didn't want to show Eleven. He used that painting to save Mike and El's relationship. Even with Mike's monologue (impulsed by Will), it wasn't enough for El. Both El and Mike knew it was not the same anymore.
After the lost battle, Eleven didn't talk to Mike even after he told her what she wanted to hear.
I don't wanna talk so much about s4 because its the main topic on social media rn so i think its unnecesary to remark al the byler development we had this season, but we have to remark these important aspects and clues to have into account for s5.
Mike still hasn't realised Will's painting wasn't El's idea.
This two scenes were PERFECTLY planned and scripted by the duffer brothers. (Last scene took a whole day to be recorded because the details had to be perfect)
i want to say my conclussion anyways.
Byler has a big chance of being endgame, even if the public doesn't like this idea. It is not a forced couple, it has been slowly developing since season 1.
Eleven deserves to find herself, be in peace and be happy, without worrying about being loved by a boy or fighting a monster.
So does Will.
Byler IS not just a great 'plot twist', it has been planned to be like this since the beggining of the show.

Huge Spoilers for Infinity Train S3 Ep9-10!!!
Ok so I've calmed down slightly and that last episode. It was so good! It brought up the fact that Grace was wrong and that she wronged both Hazel and Simon by trying to protect herself and her own need for control. Due in part to her parents overbearing yet hands off parenting style, and insecurities of being alone or shut out. She was unwilling to take a side and tried to find a balance and when she was ultimately forced into either admitting she knew Hazel wasn't a passenger beforehand, and telling Simon about how her ideals had changed she opted not to and protected herself and lashed out at Hazel maybe out of habit but still that hurt Hazel so clearly
And Hazel my girl! Like she knew she was in danger with Simon she made it very clear that she was uncomfortable around him, and was always ready to throw down. Grace's betrayal was the last straw I think. I mean she said she was going to be Tuba now the protector. But she finally understood that Grace and Simon weren't people she could continue with and come out unharmed. She knew them for what a couple of days and they took away what was most precious to her. Seeing her take the initiative to go with Amelia. To state that Simon and Grace aren't her caretakers that she can take care of herself like I just I'm happy she's grown but my heart broke when Grace told her it wasn't to late to change her mind.
And can I say like it was so smart to bring up the fact that Simon wasn't the mastermind behind the Apex's ideals. Grace had just as much a part if not a bigger part since as soon as they meet Grace assumes a sort of leadership role for having a higher number. To bring up the fact that Grace knew deep down she was wrong that the very core beliefs they founded the Apex on were wrong but was to afraid to admit it, because she didn't want to risk being alone again. to tell us hey she's flawed she's wronged both Simon and Hazel. But also later on have her acknowledge she isn't responsible for his problems and she doesn't owe him anything like ahhhh
And that final fight, like honestly how long was she in her memories. Simon's number is up to his neck his hair is longer even including his ponytail like I might have to do some math or something. Because there's no way he was able to rewrite the Apex's heirarchy in a few days so at minimum it had to have been a couple of weeks.
I just cannot believe how that fight went Simon was willing to kill in his mind a passenger someone who had a "right" to the train add on that it was Grace who he spent probably at least 8 or 9 years with. Who was hinted to have feelings for. Like to see him at this point of his let's be honest it was a mental breakdown, I mean he was forced to reface one of his most traumatic traumas and was brushed off, he was told that everything he believed in was a lie, and was told he was a child multiple times which was shown to also be one of his triggers, his friend who helped shape his identity and ideals for at least 8 years is suddenly a stranger to him?
All of this condensed into him snapping and realizing that if he wanted to stay in his "normal" it was going to take sacrifices. One of them being his connection to Grace the only other person with as much trust and authority in the Apex. Like jesus I really didn't think it would go that far. But it did and to have the roach dog come in while Grace and Simon are in their final battle like the parallels to Samantha's abandonment are just perfect.
But he's not a kid anymore he has his gravity boots, and he has a mission to accomplish and the Apex to run. And to have it all go so wrong for him. To have him end up in the position he does and yet still have Grace save him. And admit she doesn't know why she did it. And to just immediately go into the fact that that won't change someone's heart if they don't want to change. I was fully expecting a cliche Simon realizes he's wrong and they now run the new apex together but NOPE!
What he does to Grace after she saves him really drives home how much of a toll all of this took on him. His mind really just can't process what he's done it's why he's switching from crying and laughing so rapidly. Simon knows he's done something horrible but his mind is no longer in place to accept it. And then the rest of the episode scene plays out and I was so convinced like many others I'm sure that we were finally going to see him reach infinity. And honestly I think he would have if he had been given the chance. But he wasn't and now Grace and the rest of kid's many of whom are now probably traumatized as well have to navigate what Simon was so scared of. Something knew and unknown no Apex, no leaders, just what they are kids who have to work out their problems.

Ray Blackwell x M!Reader
Summary: An invitation at a party reveals that Luka had no idea you’re gay, and brings up a concern you hadn’t had before. Tags: Crack, fluff, secret relationship, mention of homophobia, alcohol consumption A/N: This is based on a dream I had where Luka and I had this exact conversation and when I woke up and remembered it I nearly threw up laughing. I did actual research for the girls outfit and hair bc im a fashion history nerd. the pocket watch i just thought was cute. Fenrir calls the reader fruity but its okay bc hes gay too god bless Word Count: 1.5k
The party was the usual affair expected of the Godspeed's, an air of elegance- present but not too overbearing- hanging over the large hall. Music drifted gently to your ears as you took everything in, a small smile settling on your face.
You couldn't help but feel a little underdressed. The officers had, of course, kept their uniforms on, but everyone else present was dressed to the nines. You'd thought the suit you wore was lovely when you and Seth had seen it last week, dark blue with a white trim, paired with a pale cyan tie and pocket square. The gold watch that settled comfortably in your pocket had been a gift from Blanc, supposedly made by Oliver to look similar to his own, to commemorate your decision to stay in Cradle. Compared to everyone else, it felt rather simple now, but you pushed the thought aside. Nobody was judging what you were wearing, they were here to enjoy themselves same as you.
"Would you like a drink?" Ray asked, voice soft enough not to startle you too much. This wasn't too effective, as you'd gotten lost in your thoughts, and sort of forgotten there were people around you, but it was kind of him to try. "Oh, yes, please." You smiled at him and a moment later he'd walked off, talking to Sirius about something, leaving you alone with Luka. Fenrir had disappeared to greet his family when you'd first arrived, and Seth was who knows where, but you didn't mind it being just the two of you. Luka rarely came to these, in fact this was the first he'd been to since you'd arrived in Cradle, despite it being your fifth, and you decided someone should stick with him so he didn't feel quite as nervous.
As you turned to say something to him, you noticed a lady making her way over to the both of you, looking rather flustered. Her fists were clenched at her sides, and she seemed to be muttering something to herself, but it was clear she had intent to speak to one of you. Perhaps she wanted to talk to Luka? He was cute, it wouldn't surprise you. What did surprise you, however, was when she walked up to you instead.
"Um, excuse me if this is far too forward, but... would you be interested in dancing with me?" She sounded so nervous, and you almost wanted to say yes. Any other man would have been lucky to get such an invitation- she looked stunning. She wore her hair in curls, gathered at the back of her neck, with a hairpiece of pale blue flowers was pinned at the front, a necklace donning the same type of flower hanging just above the neckline of her gown. The gown in question matched the colour of the flowers well, though the width of the crinoline supported skirt would have made you concerned about the logistics of dancing with her- if you'd had any intention of saying yes. Her cheeks were tinted pink as she chewed her bottom lip and waited for your answer, avoiding your gaze. A hand on your chest and a sincerely apologetic look on your face, you began to respond. "Oh dear. I'm terribly sorry, but you seem to have gotten the wrong end of the stick. You're a very attractive young lady but I'm afraid... how should I put this," You glanced at Luka for help, but he seemed to have no idea what you were trying to tell her, "I'm afraid I don't tend to set my eye on the ladies, so to speak." "You're... gay?" A sympathetic nod. "That's the ticket. Sorry, love." "Oh, it's not a problem! I'm really sorry to have bothered you!" She suddenly looked much less nervous, though a little embarrassed, and scurried off. You sighed. "I feel a little bad. I really hope she finds someone to dance with." Luka looked at you quizzically. "Why did you lie to her?" A confused laugh escaped you. "I'm sorry?" "You told her you were into guys. Why lie?" As he said this, Seth and Fenrir came up behind him, and hearing his question their eyebrows shot up. So did yours. Was he kidding? "Luka, sweetie, you have got to tell me what part of my personality made you think I was heterosexual, so I can set about changing it immediately." Seth choked on his drink, and though you flashed him a grin, you weren't entirely kidding. Going from Victorian London to a world where being gay was perfectly acceptable had been quite the change, but you'd been certain all of your friends had known. It's not like you were quiet about it, and sure, Luka was naive but... come on, now. "Wait are you... you were being honest?" "Yes?" "Luka," Fenrir began, stepping next to you and resting an elbow on your shoulder, "How have you seriously not noticed that he's gay yet?" "Well- there was no reason for me to assume!" "You watched me drunk make out with at least 2 different Black Army soldiers in my first month here!" Luka looked flustered, and utterly dumbfounded. The expression was one he wore often, usually when people insinuated that someone was in love- but somehow about five times more confused. He was unfortunate enough that Ray and Sirius returned at this moment, just in time to hear both your last remark, and his next one.
"I thought that was just something you did when you were drunk?" In another moment you were on your knees, legs shaking so much from laughter that you couldn't hold yourself up any longer. Fenrir was right there beside you, practically convulsing. Everyone else was laughing too- except poor Luka. You felt a little bad, truly you did, but this had to be the funniest thing you had ever heard. "He's completely straight, but watch out! Get a couple drinks in him and he turns fruity!" Fenrir managed to get out between cackles, and Ray was glad to have put your drinks down when Luka had last spoken, because he too nearly fell to the ground at this.
"Luka- Luka I'm sorry." You pulled yourself to your feet, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "We aren't laughing at you." Another fit of giggles overcame you. "Okay we kind of are, but it's not malicious or anything. That was just... hands down the funniest thing you've ever said." It took most of you 5 or so minutes to fully calm down from what he'd said, and anything that jogged your memories of it would bring you back to a state of uncontrollable laughter for the rest of the night. Luka came round to it being pretty funny after you talked him through the dozens of times you'd mentioned your sexuality to him since you'd met- every one of which had gone over his head.
Hours after the party had worn down and you'd all made your way home, you lay in bed, your head pressed against a familiar chest, and sighed. "What's up?" "I just... D'you think anyone else just hasn't realised?" Ray cocked his head, confused. "I'm gonna need a little more info than that, kitten." "I suppose I just... Back in London, it's not even legal to be gay, and I don't know if it ever will be. When I first came out to Fen, he told me that it was fine here, accepted and even celebrated. So, I guess I just thought that people wouldn't make the automatic assumption that I'm straight, y'know? I mean I talk about it a lot among you guys but- when I’m out and about... where do people think my final destination is? When I pick up a silly cat themed gift for you does the shopkeep think I’m buying it for my wife? It shouldn't be a big deal, I guess, but I'd never been able to be myself until I came here, and now it's like I can be me but... people will still only see who I am if I tell them. It's just weird is all. I dunno. Maybe I'm drunk." "You're not drunk. It's an understandable concern. I guess I've never thought about it, because whether or not people would accept that part of me has never been an issue, but the fact that you've had to hide it for so long and now that you're able to be open people still aren't seeing it must be hard. If you want we could... come out, so to speak?" Your eyebrows raised, and you moved back, propping yourself up on your arm so you could look your partner in the eyes.
It had been decided at the very start of your relationship, which had officially begun a few months after you'd made the choice to stay in Cradle, that the two of you would keep it under wraps for a while. Being from the Land of Reason was more than enough reason for people to take an unwanted interest in you, and you didn't need the extra attention being the King of Spades' partner would garner. Plus, anyone with a grudge against Ray would see you as a target the second you announced it. It had been a sensible suggestion on his part, one you hadn't hesitated to agree to, and as far as you knew only Sirius and Fenrir knew about your relationship. Fenrir because he had walked in on you sitting in Ray's lap while he worked late one night, and Sirius because- well, can anything get past that guy? And now, Ray was offering to tell the entirety of Cradle you were his, just so that you didn't feel like you were hiding your identity anymore? You could feel your eyes starting to burn, and you cursed the late hour and the alcohol in your system for making you cry so easily, but... "I don't think we need to be that drastic. You were right when you said it would keep me safe for us to not be in the public eye, at least for now. I'm sure Seth can come up with some better way for me to tell the whole world I'm gay." "I don't doubt that at all." Ray grinned, placing a gentle kiss on first your forehead, then your nose, and finally on your lips. "Tomorrow, though. You need your beauty sleep." "Ah, yeah, can't risk getting ugly. My boyfriend might not want me anymore." You quipped. "Exactly." He smirked at you, turning out the light and pulling you into his arms.

I'm so sorry I'm replying to it that late. Recently I had very little time to do anything on the internet (that also worked badly to me for some time), including the last weekend. I haven't even seen the newest episode yet, because I had no time to write my "review" of that, which I'm used to do directly after watching new eps.
--------
Your post wasn't boring, that was an interesting read, but all you said suggests that Marinette has learnt nothing about Chat Noir in seasons 1-3 and there's no development in Ladynoir at all. As if S1-3 were completely unimportant for Chat Noir and Ladybug's relationship if all the development between them is supposed to happen after season 4. Marinette clearly has learnt something about him: things I mentioned in my post, like he doesn't like being kept in the dark and he's afraid of being replaced. Those things were there not only for the audience, it's been shown that Marinette herself is aware of them, as in Syren she told to Fu that Chat is bothered by the secrets, while in Anansi she told him he won't be replaced by the turtle (technically true, she isn't replacing him with the turtle, she's replacing him with the fox). In my opinion it's more flaw of the writing (which isn't good this season anyway), because the writers decided to make her forgot or ignore all those moments. It seems like they undo the development between them from previous seasons. Not surprising as it's not the only aspect of S4 in which they has shown that the writing team doesn't give a shit about consistency, even with fundamentals of the show (as they broke the rule "no one can now Ladybug and Chat Noir's identities" and they still dare to pretend it's any important in Rocketear).
You suggests that Marinette treats Adrien/Chat the same way she treats Luka. I can't agree with it, with Adrien at all, with Chat to the moment in which Alya arc started.
Luka has been always treated more like plot device by the show writing more than an actual character with his own feelings and needs. Lukanette happened to give Marinette a reason to give up on Adrien. They tried to do something more with him in Truth but they failed, his issues with father were portrayed too shallow, because it's been placed in the middle of the only episode with Lukanette dating. It should be the main theme of the episode to be portrayed properly.
Marinette has never been really interested in Luka. She tried to be with him not because she has any feelings to him (if she was supposed to have them, then they failed in showing it in believable way), but because he was offering her a relationship with no expectations, no other than being honest with him. And while I agree that Marinette treated Luka so badly, it was also his own fault. He lets her to do that which makes his "love" to her very unhealthy.
Adrien has always been more important to her than Luka, even when Lukanette was a thing. I don't agree that Marinette doesn't see him completely as a fully fledged person. Nor Chat Noir before you know what. That's true what you said about putting Adrien on a pedestal and that she doesn't know him fully. But in reality, no one knows, other that Plagg. Adrien himself doesn't let people to really know him, maybe only Nino knows something more than Marinette and other his human friends. But we really don't know how Adrien and Nino relationship looks like, because the creators are not interested in showing it fully. They prefer to produce million episodes about Alya and Marinette's relationship. It's not only Marinette's fault, it's problem with Adrien himself who has to pretend he's perfect and his life is perfect for his father and his brand. By the way, this is what S4 should focus about (among other things), in developing Adrienette's friendship and finally letting Marinette learn more things about him, since The Reveal is going to happen at the end of season 5 at worst. It's now the time for that. But no, Alya is much more important than Adrien and his relationship with Marinette for the writers. I don't agree that Adrien just starting notice Marinette. She has been very important to him since the beginning, what he said in Chat Blanc. And I hate when the fandom pretends like he keeps calling her "just a friend" in front of her all the time. Something like that happened only in Riposte (and once they did it together in the Shanghai special), the other moments he did it, she wasn't there, so she had no chance to hear that.
I don't buy the whole argument with Chat Blanc accident as the reason why Marinette treats Chat like she treats him now. She's doing it not because she believes Chat Blanc happened because of their love, but because she has Alya now as her partner and emotional support, so she doesn't need the cat wielder anymore. But that also means that she can't love him really, so the whole Love Square stopped being a believable and good ship. In fact before she revealed herself to Alya NOTHING has changed between them. After Chat Blanc episode, she kept treating him just like always as her partner in fighting with crime, she was still showing that she's emotionally attached to him (Ladybug episode), she lets him hug her (Miracle Queen) etc. So it's not like she's keeping him at a distance because she's afraid of being close to him after Chat Blanc accident. If it's the case, she should start treating him differently right away after the episode, not when she started replacing Chat with Rena. Sorry but that doesn't make sense. The only thing that makes perfect sense is that Chat Blanc is the reason why Marinette still can't see him as her potential love interested even after giving up on Adrien, but it's not like she has seen him that way seriously before. That's why I claim that Chat Blanc changed nothing between them. Revealing Ladybug's identity to Alya has changed their relationship, not Chat Blanc accident. And to be clear, I don't blame Alya for that (it's not her fault obviously), I blame Marinette and most of all the writers.
If Marinette doesn't see that she treats Chat unfairly and different than she was used to before that means she's a total idiot who's completely focused on herself.
It doesn't fit the character what Marinette is supposed to be. She's supposed to be the hero in and outside of the suit who really cares about people around her, especially those who are close to her. Chat Noir is one of them. There's limit of ignorance what she can showing, especially towards the person who is meant to be love of her life. And even more after three seasons of knowing each others and showing that she's attached to him before. The fact that she ignores him even more that ever before and not being aware of it is just bad and lazy writing. Not everything could be justified by the Chat Blanc accident. More of that, after that she should behave towards Chat even more carefully than before since she should be aware that he can't be akumatised. Never. Because she knows it would cause a catastrophe. What's the purpose of all those season 2 and 3 episodes, if Ladybug is still a big ignorant towards someone she loves (even if unconsciously)?
I know we haven't seen some of the pre-Rocketear episodes, but nothing could make that believable to me.
That's also writing fault that Luka is as shallow as he is, but that's not a big issue, since he is just extremely unimportant. But Adrien/Chat Noir was supposed to be the second main character and real love of the protagonists. Though, I'm not sure if Adrien really is second main character if even protagonist's best friend gets more screentime in one season than the cat wielder in every seasons combined together.
Why I'm losing faith in Ladynoir...
...so also in the Love Square in general.
People who read my post about new episodes know that Alya's arc is annoying to me the most, as it's the biggest thing in season 4, but especially since Optigami, I see a big issue with Ladynoir's writing, which is even worse after Sentibubbler. And of course, if there's something wrong with Ladynoir, it affects the whole Love Square.
It's terrible that Ladybug doesn't trust Chat Noir enough to confess to him that she tells all the Miraculous secrets to her best friend or she gave the fox to Rena Rouge permanently.
It's terrible that since Alya knows the secrets, every time when Rena Rouge is fighting the villains, Ladybug's planning only with her, Chat is kept in the dark. He could be even treated like an intruder (see Sentibubbler).
But that's not what I meant. I hate that, but eventually I can accept it.
But I can't do the same with the fact that Marinette doesn't take into account his feelings at all. You don't need to be a genius to be aware that if you keep leaving your partner (or I would rather should say former one, as Ladybug treats him more like a sidekick at least since Optigami, Rena Rouge is her new real partner) out in the cold of all a sudden without even trying to explain it to him, that would affect him negatively. Marinette doesn't see a human being in him who has feelings like everyone. She doesn't treat him seriously. She's supposed to be in love with him secretly, but that's not believable to me anymore. She isn't even a good friend, nor a good guardian to him. It looks more similar to the way how Marinette treats Luka, and that was the reason why I was used to keep saying that Lukanette doesn't make sense as a romantic relationship to me. But she hasn't been really in love with him, so that has never been a real issue in the show's writing.
Marinette clearly favours Rena Rouge over Chat Noir and she's replacing him with her as her partner. Since Alya knows, it's like she cares only about feelings of her best friend and making favours to her (she wants to know all the guardian secrets? Of course! She wants the Miraculous permanently? No problem.), she doesn't give a shit about the cat wielder. I have a feeling that she doesn't need him anymore, because now she has Alya with whom she can talk about all superhero things. It can't be justified by the fact that Chat doesn't tell her that's something wrong. She's not Chloé who cares only about herself, she supposed to be a very empathetic character, who loves help people, she should be aware that she doesn't treat Chat fair anymore.
Something like that should have happened in S1 or at the very least in the first half of S2, not after the season 2 finale and the famous line "You and me against the world" and especially the whole season 3 in which Ladynoir developed beautifully. People sees Ladynoir as the most developed side of the Love Square. And I had agreed with it, despite I have always liked Adrienette the most. But so what? So what if the writers decided to undone their development? Marinette has seen that his feelings towards her are not a joke in Glaciator, she's seen that he hates being kept in the dark in Syren, she's seen that he's afraid of being replaced in Anansi. For heaven's sake, she's been even bothered by the fact he sacrificed himself in Lies! And now? All those words that Chat is irreplaceable or that she trusts him completely were only words? In fact, she trusts Alya and cares about her feelings much more.
It seems only Adrien respects and appreciates both sides of his loved one in real. And that's despite Marinette still have trouble with talking to him.
The Love Square can't be completed and really strong if Marinette cares only about feelings of civilian side of her crush. I still don't want to see the identity reveal yet, but previously I thought that mostly because Adrienette isn't developed enough. Ladynoir's side seemed to be more ready to it. Now I see it's not that easy. They don't seem to be even close to be ready to reveal their secrets. So it looks like it should not happen this season. In fact, Adrien appreciates Marinette much more than Ladybug appreciates Chat Noir, so in this sense Adrienette is more ready for the identity reveal than Ladynoir. It can't happen as long as Ladybug sees Chat more like a tool, doesn't consider his feelings, keeps him in the dark, leaves him out and, last but not the least, doesn't trust him.
I had no big issues with the Love Square writing in three previous seasons, I had seen it as an example of an amazing fictional relationship which develops slowly but gratifyingly. But not anymore, because Ladybug is not allowed to see Chat's normal human feelings in season 4. After three seasons of development. I get why they are doing it. For the sake of BIG DRAMA which is getting closer and closer and that would end with another Chat Noir's akumatisation or a different really bad thing. Still, it could have be written better, without undermining the faith in the Love Square. And to be fair, I'm worried about any type of melodrama in this show, I disliked the biggest dramatic moments in both Truth and Lies (they were so cheap, like taken from soap operas), not to mention Gang of Secrets, the episode I really hate, not only but mostly for that reason (and lack of subtlety).
