History
Imra Ardeen aka Saturn Girl is one of the most talented telepaths among a race of powerful mentalists, and founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Foundation of the Legion
Imra left her homeworld of Titan to join the Science Police as a teenager. However, upon her arrival on Earth, an assassination attempt was made on the life of fellow passenger and billionaire R.J. Brande. Using her powers of telepathy, Imra discovered the plot, and, with the help of two other teenagers on board, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy, caught the assassin and saves Brande's life.
At Brande's urging, she adopted the persona of Saturn Girl, and joined Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy in founding the Legion of Super-Heroes - an organization of teenaged heroes formed to honor the legacy of Superboy and Supergirl. They traveled back to the 20th century several times and offered Superboy and Supergirl a place on the team after they passed their tests.
Early Adventures
When Alexis Luthor and the Legion of Super-Villains were about to kill Superman, Saturn Girl offered to die in his place, although a trick by Superman made Saturn Queen save her.
As a Legionnaire, Imra gained a reputation for self-sacrifice; just prior to the leadership elections of 2975, she learned that a Legionnaire would die during an attack on Earth and decided to take on that responsibility herself. Using her telepathy, Imra forced the other Legionnaires to vote her leader and then ordered them not to use their powers during the attack. However, Lightning Lad defied her orders and took her place in death. Distraught over his selfless act of devotion, Imra vowed to do all in her power to bring him back.
A method was soon developed which could revive Lightning Lad, but only at the cost of another member's life. Imra again interfered in the process to ensure hers was the life taken, but her plan was foiled by Proty, the telepathic pet of Chameleon Boy. Proty admired Imra and tricked her so that it could take her place. Upon Proty's death, Lightning Lad was restored. Despite this series of events, Imra's leadership was highly valued in the Legion, and her position as leader, despite its means of acquisition, was allowed to stand. She earned a second term the following year.
Marriage to Lightning Lad
Romantically, Lightning Lad had pursued Imra for some time, but she had repeatedly rebuffed his advances. However, after he sacrificed his life for her own, she understood the depth of his feelings and came to realize that she returned them . After dating for almost ten years, Garth proposed marriage but Imra initially rejected his offer due to a Legion rule which forced married members to retire.
After consulting with her mentors on Titan, however, Imra relented. However, the couple's retirement was short-lived; a few months after their marriage, war broke out in which all active Legionnaires were captured and the reserves were forced into action. Imra's telepathic skills were instrumental in the Legion's eventual victory, and as a result the rule barring married members was repealed. The Ranzzes returned to active duty until Imra gave birth to their son, Graym Ranzz, after which they both retired in order to devote their energy to him.
Unbeknownst to the couple, however, Graym had a twin who was stolen at birth by Darkseid and transported into the past, where he was transformed into the monster Validus. Validus fought the Legion on numerous occasions, but was eventually returned as a normal infant to his parents by Darkseid at Imra's insistence.
Imra briefly rejoined the Legion again in 2987 when Universo took control of the Earth and hypnotized and imprisoned many heroes, including her. Imra's powerful mind broke free and eventually broke Universo's hold over Earth and forced him unconscious. It was then that she realized how much the Legion was in her blood, and she rejoined, this time without Garth, who was enjoying life as a father and househusband.
Crisis on Infinite Earths
Although the Legion survived the Crisis mostly unscathed, the Time Trapper took advantage of the chaos to isolate and weaken the Legion, making them believe her fellow Superboy wasn't the the real one and forget about her recently fallen member Supergirl. Even so, the Legion endured.
Five Year Gap
However, during the "Five Year Gap", Earth's government became hostile to the Legion, and Garth became incapacitated from the Validus plague which ravaged his native Winath. Disillusioned by the government and feeling needed more at home, Imra resigned from the Legion for the last time in 2990. Returning to Winath, she and Garth took over running a Winathian Lightning Ring plantation, which became quite prosperous. Using their new-found wealth, Imra and Garth replaced their super-heroism with simple but necessary helping of others, feeding a galaxy suffering more from hunger than from super-villains. When the Legion re-formed in 2994, the Ranzzes helped them out, but did not rejoin. Instead, they enlarged their family with the birth of daughters Dacey and Dorritt, who inherited Imra's telepathic abilities.
Post-Infinite Crisis
A cosmic crisis brought back by a Hal Jordan mind-controlled by Parallax appeared to erase Imra and her fellow Legionnaires from existence.
Nevertheless, the events other Crisis unleashed by Superboy Prime and Alex Luthor restored the Legion with a slightly altered history as evidenced by the trip of six Legionnaires to the time present. Once again, Imra, Garth and Rokk traveled back to the past to induct Superboy, who Imra had a bit of a hero-worshiping childhood crush on. They also recruited the next Superboy and she personally welcomed Supergirl in the team when the Kryptonian girl landed in the 30th century.
Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes
Unfortunately, xenophobia started spreading through the galaxy because of manipulations of the Time Traper and the efforts of Earth-Man. The Legion agreed the future was becoming too dangerous for Superboy and they would not visit him again after the war against the Anti-Monitor.
The witch hunt led by Earth-Man and sponsored by the Earth Government forced Imra and her closest friends to go underground. Imra and Garth's children also went missing during that period. As a result of it, Imra became more passive while Garth got more short-tempered and emotional for a while. It was when Superman returned and rejoined the Legion that their situation started to look up.
Legion of 3 Worlds
Earth-Man had been exposed and defeated, but tension between the Legion and the United Planets was still high, and Saturn Girl often had to mediate between her husband and their beleaguered friend and team leader Cosmic Boy.
Superboy-Prime ending up in the 30th century and freeing the Legion of Super-Villains forced the Legion to recall Superman and bring two Legions of different timelines to her own universe. Imra found herself teaming up with two different Saturn Girls.
During the final battle in Vanishing Point, Saturn Girl used her telepathy to call Legionnaires of every time and universe and with their assistance defeating the Time Trapper for good.
DC Rebirth
Imra appears locked in Arkham Asylum, now changed after the next reality-altering debacle, with Maggie Sawyer stating she was arrested for stealing a sandwich, claiming where she comes from, food is free. Imra tells the interrogator she came here to speak with Superman, and even when the interrogator states the Justice League says he could be dead, she stays calm, and says that everything will be fine. When the interrogator asks why, she says because she has seen the future. As the interrogator talks to Maggie, she says she needs mental help, and only came with what is seemingly just a ring, but is actually the Legion Flight Ring.
Later, when Batman and Punch, disguised as Commissioner Gordon pass by Imra's cell, and she breaths on the cell glass, drawing a Legion Flight Ring symbol on the glass. She is seen later watching a hockey game in Arkham, and states this is the game, where one of the teams kills a player on the other team. She states everyone is doomed to die, including the Legion and Superman.
Later, Emerald Empress broke into the Asyulum to kill Saturn Girl, claiming her Eye had shown her defeat at Imra's hands. However, upon establishing telepathic contact with Imra, Sarya discovered her vision to be false -it was Supergirl the one would defeat her- and someone had tried to mislead her into kill Saturn Girl.

43. Lily, Pt.5
At Granny's Diner. (Lily is eating as Maleficent stares at her.) Maleficent: “You're so beautiful... Sorry. I just... Just... You are, that's all. (Notices a gash on her daughter’s arm:) What happened?” Lily: (Shrugging:) “Oh, that woman, Zelena? She slipped as she was getting in the car and grabbed my arm to stop herself falling and I guess she drew blood. (Maleficent waves her hand over the wound and heals it instantly:) Thanks. So, how are we gonna get revenge on Snow White and Prince Charming?” Maleficent: “Now that I see you, I don't wanna waste our time on revenge. I understand why you want it. It's suddenly so clear we should only look forward.” Lily: “Seriously? We're gonna let them get away with this?” Maleficent: “We can be happy in the future or we can be angry about the past.” Lily: “Let's do both. Look, all these years since I figured out what happened, I-I've been trying to figure out how two humans could get me away from a freakin' dragon. But now I get it. You're a pushover. What'd they do, rub your belly? Give you a dragon treat?” Maleficent: “Lily... No. I did everything I could. But all I wanna do now is enjoy our time together. I am your mother.” Lily: “Well, I'm grown up now. I don't need grooming advice from Annie hall. I gotta go.” (Lily stands and Maleficent follows.) Maleficent: “Wait! Wait. Please. If you go, if you leave town, you can't get back in. I can't leave at all. I'll crumble back into the dust that I was before Gold revived me.” Lily: “Man, that's a bummer.” Maleficent: “Please. Can't you just wait a little while longer? Things could look different in a week.” Lily: “Send me a postcard.” (Lily leaves the diner.) At Regina's Vault. Regina: “So if I have this straight, you thought Emma was going to go dark, and she didn't. So the whole operation's dead?” Isaac: “Right. The energy of her darkest potential has to charge the ink.” Regina: “Okay, let's think.” Isaac: “It's a shame. I mean... Writing a happy ending for the Evil Queen. Well, you... you've always been a favourite of mine. Very clear goals plus totally damaged personality with a self-destructive streak? A recipe for compelling. And of all the characters I've written for, you really do get screwed over the most.” Regina: “I'm well aware.” Isaac: “By the way, I-I was only working with Rumplestiltskin because he was able to protect me. So, you can trust me.” Regina: “And you can really do as you say? You can write a new book, one that doesn’t have me cast as a villain?” Issac: “If that’s what you want, yes, but surely you have some specifics in mind?” Regina: (Shakes her head:) “I have my son and I have Emma. All I want is to not have my past come back and haunt me so that I can enjoy my happy ending.” Issac: “You believe you already have your happy ending?” Regina: (Nods:) “Absolutely.” Issac: “Forgive me, I’m a little confused. You do realise the things I’m capable of writing as the Author right?” Regina: “I know because of you and your interference that Maleficent was separated from her child for decades.” Issac: “It’s because of the Savior that Maleficent even had a child. When Emma went back in time she set in motion a series of events that never occurred in an earlier version of the storybook. In the previous version of events, Hook never met Maleficent and the child was never conceived.” Regina: “Be that as it may, I don’t want you interfering in my story. After everything we’ve been through, the Savior and I deserve an unwritten life.”
Storybrooke Bus Station. (Lily is waiting for a bus. From a discreet distance, Hook watches her through his eye glass.) Blanchard Apartment. (There is a knock at the door and Mary Margaret opens it. It's Maleficent.) Mary Margaret: (Concerned:) “David.” Maleficent: “I'm not here to kill you.” David: “Okay...” Maleficent: “I just... I just want my daughter.” David: “Lily isn't with you?” Maleficent: “She's leaving.” Mary Margaret: “And you think we can help. Come in.” Maleficent: “You cast the second curse. Can you... Is there a way for you to seal the borders the way Regina did?” Mary Margaret: “I don't know how to do what you want. But that wouldn't be the right way, anyway. If she's upset, you have to get to the heart of what's wrong.” Maleficent: “I don't know what's wrong. I don't know her.” David: “Well, she's acting a lot like Emma did when she first came here. She had these... Her walls were always up.” Mary Margaret: “She was afraid that if she opened herself up to me, I would let her down like everyone else had. And... Ultimately, I did.” Maleficent: “If you have any way to help... You didn't give her back to me then, but please, if you can help, do it now.” Mary Margaret: “Yes. Come on, David, let's find her.”
Storybrooke Bus Station. (Lily continues to wait as Hook approaches.) Hook: “Fair warning... bus service in these parts can be spotty. It's going to be a wait.” Lily: “I missed the part where that's your problem. Shove off.” Hook: “Shove off? (Chuckles:) I bet that mouth got you lots of attention back at the group home, but it won’t help you here. Now... Listen up. I've got some talking to do.” Lily: “I just found out my mother is Maleficent and my father is Captain Hook. I think I’ve heard enough for one day.” Hook: “Oh, you’ll want to hear what I have to say. You see, I understand your anger better than most. I used to be a man who let his thirst for revenge rule his life. I let nothing stand in my way on my quest for retribution. Then I came to this quiet coastal town and somewhere along the way, the fire in my belly just... went out. But, once I heard about what Snow and Charming did to you, getting you banished, putting Emma's potential for darkness into you...” Lily: “How they sent me through the portal in my eggshell, like baby Moses in his basket. Your fire returned? (Hook nods:) You have any ideas about giving them what they deserve?” Hook: “Oh, I have more than a few ideas. But, let's not worry about what they deserve. Let's work on what we deserve.” Lily: “We?” Hook: “Lily, I am your father and as such, it’s my job to make sure you get everything your heart desires.” Lily: “Well, I desire them dead.” Hook: (Smirks:) “You certainly do have some darkness in you, don't you? Thing is, a lot of that darkness, that actually belongs to Emma. And right now, it's good and riled up. See, I’ve only ever seen Emma’s light magic in action but something tells me that riled up Savior darkness must be something to behold.” Lily: “You think so?” Hook: “Oh, that, combined with the fact your mother birthed you in her dragon form can only mean that you’re part fire breather yourself. (Lily smiles at him:) They cast us as villains the moment they ripped you from your mother’s arms. Now I want you to think about what they did to you, what they took from us and I want you to channel that anger. (Lily’s eyes flash yellow:) That’s it, that’s my girl. I think the only thing left for me to do is to get out of your way and watch the sparks fly.” Storybrooke. On The Road. (David, Mary Margaret and Maleficent are driving around trying to find Lily when they hear a noise. Rounding a corner, David slams on the brakes as Lily stands before them in her ferocious dragon form.) Maleficent: “Lily?” (Lily roars and flies away.)
Storybrooke Psychiatric Ward. (Zelena is trying to remove the cuff when Regina and the Author pay her a visit.) Regina: “Hello, Zelena.” Zelena: “Oh, visitors. I'll put the kettle on.” Regina: “I've got the Author and soon I’ll have the ink. I wanted you to witness the moment he writes me my heart's desire. See, this is my town and this is my story. You've just been a supporting player this whole time.” Zelena: “Yeah, see, I'm not here to support you. I'm here to replace you. Out with the old, and in with the new.” Regina: “Really? We'll see about that.” Zelena: “Wait. What exactly is he going to write?” Regina: “Oh, I've given that a lot of thought. There are so many good options. But I think, after much deliberation, I've come up with the perfect ending for you, sis.” Into The Woods. (David, Mary Margaret and Maleficent track Lily.) David: “It headed this way.” Mary Margaret: “She.” Maleficent: “Thank you. I'm worried. You need to be taught to fly, and she was way too low. If one wing tip hit a tree, she could be badly hurt.” David: “And maybe hurt a lot of people around her, too.” Mary Margaret: “David.” (They find Lily.) Maleficent: “Oh, she... She looks like me.” (Maleficent approaches the dragon.) Mary Margaret: “Be careful.” Maleficent: “She's my daughter.” (Mary Margaret follows Maleficent, David follows Mary Margaret.) David: “Mary Margaret, no! Stop! She's out of control! Mary Margaret! (Lily strikes Mary Margaret with her tail, knocking her into a large rock:) No!” (Lily breathes fire, scorching the earth between David and Mary Margaret before she turns and flies away. David attempts to treat Mary Margaret’s wounds as Emma arrives.) Emma: “Mom?!” David: “She hit her head hard.” Emma: “No, stay still. (Using her magic, Emma heals her mother:) It's gonna take time to heal inside.” Mary Margaret: “I'm sorry I let you down again. I was selfish.” Emma: “Yes, you were, but at some point this has to stop.” Mary Margaret: “Emma, I'm not ever going to stop trying to protect you, not ever. I don't care what you do or say.” Emma: “I know. I need to stop punishing you.” Mary Margaret: “You do?” Emma: “I can’t pretend that I’m gonna forget what you both did and neither should you. On that night you were villains who destroyed an innocent child’s life. But because of that evil act... you dedicated your lives to becoming better versions of yourselves. To become heroes... If it happened at my expense, it doesn't change anything. It doesn't change the good people you became, and it doesn't change what you are.” Mary Margaret: “Which is what?” Emma: “My parents. I held you up on such a high pedestal that I forgot that you’re not just Snow White and Prince Charming but that you’re human and you make mistakes. Cutting you out and trying to hurt you has just made me miserable... I miss you and I forgive you.” (Mary Margaret hugs Emma as Maleficent approaches her daughter who has just reverted to her human form.)
Maleficent: “Are you all right?” Lily: (Breathing heavy, clutching her hand:) “I'm not sure just yet.” Maleficent: (Sits beside her:) “You know, I was going to give you something earlier. (Holds out the rattle:) This was supposed to be yours, but I never got a chance to give it to you... (Lily holds it:) It's too late, isn't it? You're too grown up for everything. You don't need me. And I know that I'm not... I'm not what you were hoping for.” Lily: “I thought that you'd be this scary dragon bitch, and we'd go get our revenge. You know, blasting all those who did us wrong... But you're just... This real person. And you're so frickin' open, it kills me.” Maleficent: “Why does that kill you? I don't understand. Please, tell me.” Lily: “Because you want a relationship, a future. And anyone who's ever wanted that with me, it's just... It's never worked out. I've always let them down. I destroy everything that I touch. That darkness they put in me, it's serious business.” Maleficent: “I don't mind a little darkness. (Maleficent hugs her daughter:) Look... Why don't you stay for a week, and I can teach you about being a scary dragon bitch?” Lily: “Okay. One week.” Storybrooke Psychiatric Ward. (Zelena stands, taunting Regina.) Zelena: “You're just mad because I have with Robin Hood what you've always wanted. A child.” Regina: “No, I already have a child. Henry. No, what I'm mad about is you trying to cheat your way into a happy ending. You tricked Robin into thinking you were his long lost wife. You made Roland believe his mother had returned and now you’re having Robin’s child? I'm going to see to it that you can never hurt anyone else again. Our author here is going to write you out of the story... Forever.” Zelena: “Sorry, sis. I think you're bluffing. You'd never take away Robin's baby.” Regina: “That's not how I look at it. You see, as far as everyone will be concerned, including me, it'll be as though you never existed.” Zelena: “Wait, can he do that? Just change all of your memories?” Isaac: “Absolutely. The pen is mightier than the... Well, everything.” Zelena: “Well... I never knew our mother, but I imagine I'm getting to know her right now.” Regina: “Is that so?” Zelena: “She tossed me in a basket, sent me to Oz. She gave up a baby without even blinking an eye. And look at you now. You are exactly like her!” Isaac: “Well, this is all academic without any ink so... What do you want me to do?”
(Robin enters.) Robin: “Regina! Is everything all right? I've been looking all over for you.” (As Regina is distracted by Robin’s arrival, Zelena passes the Author a small vial. Nodding, Isaac quickly empties the vial’s contents into the inkwell and begins writing.) Regina: “Everything's fine. (Turns back to Zelena:) You didn't know our mother, Zelena, but I did. And yet, we both suffered. She hurt you and she hurt me, too. But our own worst enemy isn't her or each other. It's ourselves.” Zelena: (Glancing at the Author:) “Actually, I think you’ll find I’m still your worst enemy.” (Isaac finishes writing and rips the page from the book, vanishing into thin air.) Regina: “What the... (Regina picks up the page and reads:) No.” Robin: “What does it say?” Regina: “Vanishing in a cloud of smoke, the Author slips away with the ink to where... Mr. Gold awaits." Zelena: (Joyous:) “Oh I do love it when a good plan comes together.” Regina: “What are you talking about?” Zelena: “Did you really think I could ever truly have my happy ending without destroying yours first?" (Zelena cackles in delight as Regina and Robin share worried looks.) Mr. Gold's Shop. (Isaac reappears in front of Mr. Gold.) Mr. Gold: “How? No, no. I don't care how. I don't wanna waste time.” Isaac: “That's what I thought. Are you okay?” Mr. Gold: “I soon will be.” Isaac: (Attempts to help Mr. Gold to his feet:) “Here.” Mr. Gold: “Let go of me. Go and write.” Isaac: (Crosses over to a counter:) “Write on what?” (Mr. Gold clicks his fingers and creates a new book: Heroes and Villains.) Mr. Gold: “Now then... It's time villains finally win.” (Isaac starts to write.)
The End.

2017 TV Show Thoughts - Not Including Stranger Things Season 2
**Waiting until finals are over to watch season 2 of Stranger Things but I have a feeling it would’ve been/will be in my favorite category anyway because I LOVE the show
***THESE ARE MY OPINIONS FEEL FREE TO DISAGREE! Even if a show disappointed me this past season doesn’t mean I won’t still give it a chance in the future!
****For TV Show that aired over the Fall- I have not watched ANY of the new episodes/season with the exception of my #1 favorite tv show of 2017
Disappointing Tv Seasons/Series:
5. The 100 - Season 4
It was sad because we lost so many amazing characters in season 3, but season 4 for the most part things didn’t heat up (pun intended) until last 3-4 episodes, which was the best part of the season. The season as whole wasn’t that great and we did lose one of my favorite characters (again) but it wasn’t the worst, it was still somewhat entertaining.....
4. Girl Meets World - Season 3 & Series Finale
WARNING SPOILERS: The once funny/goofy show fell hard on season 3, with stupid plot twists and being super cliché when it came to the “ships” of the show it just wasn’t that great. Very disappointing. They dumbed down Riley and here I thought they were going to do a whole deep storyline about how she was acting more childish because she was scared of the idea of growing up after high school, but nope, even when the writers talked about what they were planning if they got another season, it wasn’t there! And don’t get me started on the whole Maya becoming Riley “twist” which made NO sense to me. I think I can count the amount of good episodes of this season on 1 hand. Since this show was based on Boy Meets World I was expecting SO much more, but then again maybe it shouldn’t have been on Disney to start with.
3. Supergirl - Season 2
It was honestly just bland, but the show needed to get it’s footing now that it’s on the CW, but I was just barreling through the episodes waiting for the good part and that didn’t really happen. I also didn’t care for/about Kara & Mon El (Even though I loved Chris Wood since I first saw him on TVD back in season 6) which was a huge part of the season. The only good additions to the season was Tyler Hoechlin (loved him from Teen Wolf) , Katie McGrath (LOVED her since Merlin) and giving James SOMETHING to do, aside from being a once love interest.
2. The Flash - Season 3
It felt like a “been there, done that” season, yet ANOTHER speedster villain as the big bad… The reveal took too long and was disappointing. Flashpoint was a waste but it’s great as a loophole for the writers to explain something that doesn’t make sense, just blame it on Flashpoint… The two parts of the season don’t seem to flow together and the season finale was very disappointing due to the fact that it was basically a combination of the season 1 & 2 finale. Iris West was basically just a plot device this season, so disappointing. HR, Cisco, Joe and Wally were the best characters this season.
1. Pretty Little Liars - Season 7 & Series Finale
WOW. JUST WOW. I have loved this show since the first season and read most of the books, so I was ready for an epic and well deserved ending….But I was horribly wrong. This season and the finale was just SO DISSAPPOINTING. We got a half assed ending, which we only got because the original A.D. actor couldn't stay long for the finale (seriously that’s why they didn’t go another route) and they pulled a plot twist THAT THEY USED BEFORE ON OTHER CHARACTERS in the show and was one of the major plot twists from the books. The fanbase is VERY VOCAL when the writers do something they don’t like, so it felt like everything became fanservice to please fans and everything just didn’t make sense anymore. If you thought the Gossip Girl ending was bad, just don’t watch this. To quote Emily “I WASTED SO MUCH TIME ON YOU”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overhyped TV Shows:
5. A Series of Unfortunate Events - Season 1
As a fan of the books I just didn’t enjoy the show as much as other people, I mostly had to power through the episodes to finish it. I was mostly cringing when I watched it. With the show coming out on Netflix in January with only 8 episodes, it took me about 4-5 months to finish them. I just didn’t enjoy it. I was expecting something different, and I have an open mind if I don’t like a show at first but I couldn’t get over this. If there’s another season I may watch it due to curiosity, but I’ll try to go into a new season with different perspective.
4. Young & Hungry - Season 5
They recycle the “will they, won’t they” storyline too much and makes the chase for the couple that you’re supposed to want to get together just unbearable to watch. The only good parts of this show is when Sofia and/or Yolanda are on the screen. Still sad Young & Sofia didn’t get picked up; Gabi is much better and more interesting as a side character. I mostly watch this show now when I’m bored or need to laugh.
3. The Fosters - Season 5
CAN THIS SHOW JUST END?! I do admit I watch the new seasons when it comes on Netflix and loved this show when it first started but now it’s just another show where they’re recycling storylines between characters. Between replacing actors, boring storylines, no character development for most of the “kids or teens”, and just reaching for more or wildly odd drama is just too much for me. Stef and Lena are the only characters I like now.
2. Riverdale - Season 1
It’s a good show, I like most of the cast and the actors are good. I do like and very much enjoy Riverdale, but it’s becoming larger than life and the hype has just been too much for me, personally. I do still recommend it, but it’s not the best thing since sliced bread, you know what I mean? I will probably watch season 2 after finals when they go on hiatus.
1. 13 Reasons Why - Season 1
Okay, you knew this was probably coming with the overhype title. I really loved this show, it’s just with all the hype around it and it getting renewed for an unnecessary season 2 is the final nail in the coffin for me. (pun not intended) Hannah’s story has been told and they could’ve easily made a 2 hour movie to end the cliff hangers from season 1 instead of milking the show that was supposed to raise awareness. I don’t think I will be watching season 2, but who knows.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favorite TV Seasons/Series:
9. Baby Daddy - Season 6 & Series Finale
I enjoyed this season, it was just as funny and entertaining as others. Everything was just tied up in a little bow as the “perfect” ending. I would’ve liked to see just one more season from this show to feel fully satisfied. I am sad that this show didn’t get renewed because it’s “competitor” Young & Hungry just recycles the same relationship storyline and gets renewed.
8. Switched at Birth - Season 5 & Series Finale
Let me just say that I’m biased towards Bay, she is by far my favorite character on this show and I have loved (almost) all of her storylines and this season was no different, we really got to see her and Daphne mature. It was a great ending to the series, I just wish they would’ve been able to get 20-22 episodes for the season to finish up some other characters storylines in more than just 5 minutes. But hey, at least they made sure everything and everyone had an ending. I also appreciate how they tackle more serious subjects with racism this season, it was so different that subjects that they have discussed in the past.
7. Legends of Tomorrow - Season 2
This season just got wacky and random but I really loved it. Nate and Amaya were great additions to the team and it was great to see Sara as captain. She did do a much better job than Rip. I also liked the character development for Mick, one of the best developments from the Arrowverse. They also brought in some great villains this season as well. Only complaint: USE FIRESTORM MORE THE HE’S AWESOME AND MORE POWERFUL THAN ANYONE ON THAT SHOW. I will be catching up on all the DCTV shows after finals as well.
6. The Originals - Season 4
I just enjoy this show so much, there was A LOT less romance this season which was great! We really got to dive more into Vincent’s (who is one of the best characters) past as well as learn more about the werewolves. I loved that they brought back some characters this season. I also like how they sorta tribute horcruxes from Harry Potter in the finale with the main cast. (The solution very much reminded me personally, of horcruxes). I’m just not ready for this show to be over because season 5 will be the last season.
5. Arrow - Season 5
After the DISASTER that was season 4 this season finally restored my faith in Arrow, the villain this season was not the most powerful, but was the most effective and really made Oliver come to his breaking point. On top of that they revealed the big bad identity to the audience first and I personally love seeing the villain unmasked playing our heroes in the daylight without them knowing it.
4. Prison Break - Seasons 1-5
Just an amazing show, I finished it so fast. There’s great character development and great actors. I still think the first season is the best, there’s a few plot twists that I don’t really understand, but it might be because I didn’t get a chance to watch the revival this year. But I’m ready to binge the original series again! (I was unable to watch the season/revival that aired this year)
3. The Vampire Diaries - Season 8 & Series Finale
WARNING SPOILERS: They brought out all the stops they could think of for this season, between shocking and sometimes unfair deaths to bringing back characters for one last victory lap this season didn’t disappoint. To be nitpicky I would’ve loved to see Nina Dobrev for more than just 1 episode, have Stelena be endgame due to Nina and Ian’s lack of chemistry, and Bonnie get something a little bit better than traveling the world. In the end though I really liked how all of my favorite characters ended up being happy and that Bonnie didn’t die, plus I’m ready for Klaroline on The Originals.
2. Reign - Season 4 & Series Finale
If you’re looking for a historically accurate, to the books tv show then this isn’t for you. I had to get over that when I decided to pick this show back up this year. I binged it from start to end when season 4 arrived on Netflix and my opinions completely changed. I watch shows and movies to check out of my reality for a little while and this show just really grabbed me, plus when events don’t go historically accurate, I have the need to look up how they really went. I think this show needed one more season, but due to the lower ratings they couldn’t pull it off. Considering that they were told only a few weeks before filming their season 4 finale that it was actually going to be their series finale they pulled it off way better than other shows that ended this year. I have to give props to the writers on this one for actually KNOWING where they wanted their characters to end up at the end of the series in advance.
1. The Good Place - Season 1
I CAN’T STOP WATCHING IT. It’s forking hilarious! (If you watch the show you’ll get it) I love all of the actors and their characters are all so different and funny. Each character has their own unique sense of humor. Also when they tell you things that can people sent to the bad place is hilarious! I hope to get so many more seasons of this show. Such an underdog on tv right now, I can see this show going to the same level of HIMYM or Friends. Because of the twist I can’t give away too many details, but you won’t regret watching it!

Dangerous (Sam Drake x OC) - Chapter 7
In case you don’t want to read it here, the whole work can be found on A03:
AO3 Chapter 7 Link
Previous Chapters: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6
Chapter Summary: Sam and Faith head off on their journey and someone else is soon on their heels.
Faith glanced at the wall clock in her apartment. 4:35PM. Sam and Faith had agreed to meet back at her apartment by 5 PM, each of them had things to do and provisions to get before setting out for Illinois. Nathan had assured both of them Faith would be safe running a couple of hours of errands now that the Laginas had agreed on a ceasefire and Jasper Nox had seemed to have crawled back into whatever Georgia hole he crawled out of.
As she stuffed the last of her clothes in an oversized backpack, she heard the key in the lock of her apartment door. She glanced up as Sam walked in, swinging the metal door shut with a kick of his foot causing a loud thunk. Faith recognized the large green army duffel Sam set down on the couch from the motel room but not the smaller black one he put on top of it. Sam put a hand on the back of his neck, giving the tense muscles a rough squeeze and stretch.
“You get everything?” He asked.
She cinched the neck of her backpack closed and dropped it next to the smaller one on the floor.
“Snacks, clothes, cash, and Bible,” Faith announced as she pointed to each backpack and her green army medic bag she used as her purse that sat on her bed. “How about you? You get everything?”
Sam unzipped the black duffel and threw a small flip phone at Faith. “Burner phone for you, burner phone for me. Sent Nathan the numbers already so we can get a hold of him. Each one has the others number programmed in that way we're set in case we get separated. Leave your phone here, pull the battery and the SIM card.”
Faith nodded, storing the new phone in her purse and taking out her old one. She popped out the battery and SIM card, throwing the whole works on her bedspread.
“What else...whoa. Whoa. Hey now.” Faith stammered as she turned to see Sam holding out a handgun to her.
“Wrap it in a shirt, throw it in your bag. It's just in case,” Sam gently insisted. Faith stepped back with her arms wrapped around herself tightly, shaking her head no.
“Sam, no, I don't do guns.”
“Take the gun, Faith.”
“No, I don't do guns. I've never shot one, I don't like holding them, I don't like being near them. Nope, nuh uh. I don't do it,” She said, still furiously shaking her head.
“You wanted treasure hunting 101? Here ya go. Lesson one, be prepared in case shit goes down now take the goddamn gun,” Sam said with frustration. Faith reached out and carefully took it from his outstretched hand. She grabbed an errant gray t-shirt that was thrown over the back of her computer chair and wrapped it, taking great care to avoid touching anywhere near the trigger. She reopened her pack and nestled the gun in a hidden inner pocket and closed it again quickly.
“That it?” Faith asked Sam.
“Rental car's parked out back. Good to go?” He questioned. Faith nodded and grabbed up her gear, slinging what she could over her shoulders and headed towards her door. She shut it tight behind her and Sam, the click a little louder to her than normal, as if the universe was giving her signal, some subtle nod that it would be quite a while before she would be back and hear that sound again. Faith shoved the keys in her jacket pocket and headed towards the buildings set of elevators.
“You give the rental guy a fake name?” She asked as she walked down the hallway of apartment doors.
“Yeah.”
“Justin Case?” she asked over her shoulder.
“Too obvious, Russell P. Bell.”
“You really like the letter P for a middle initial don't you?” She questioned as she stopped in front of the elevators.
“Not really.”
The elevator dinged, announcing its arrival as the doors slid open. “I bet it's your real middle initial.” Faith said as she stepped into the elevator. Sam let out a chuckle, “No, it's not my middle initial.”
Faith pressed the button for the main floor. She gasped, a thought striking her. “Your middle name is Phineas, isn't it?” She said as she looked at Sam, nodding with a goofy smile that made her look like she had just figured out a deep, cool secret of the world. Sam stared at her strangely at a complete loss for words as the elevator doors slid closed in front of them.
Sam turned the key to the small SUV, the engine kicking over and roaring to life. Their gear safely stored in the back seat, Sam put it in drive and turned out the gravel parking lot. Faith slid down a little in her seat, adjusting her seat belt snug across her chest. She watched Sam fiddle with the radio, scanning for a station across the FM band that came in clear. She slid her seat back and propped her feet up on the dash of the rental. “Better,” Sam proclaimed, finally stopping his search as Creedence Clearwater Revival came through the surprisingly decent speaker system of the car. Faith cozied herself down against the door of the car, watching the world go by her in the mirror. She caught a glance of her apartment building. This was it, everything that was comfortable, every known in her life was in that building and she was watching it get smaller and smaller. She glanced beside her and saw her mother sitting in the driver's seat instead of Sam, John Fogherty's voice mixing in her head with hers and her mothers as they sang. Her mom turned to her and told her, “Sing out Faith! Don't be afraid. Be bold, be brave! That's where the fun is Baby!” A smile beaming at her as her mother leaped right back into the chorus of the song. Faith blinked, the sight of her mother replaced with Sam. He sang under his breath as he fished around in a jacket pocket for a lighter. She smiled and looked back into the mirror, seeing the last of her building fade out of her sight.
Be bold, be brave! That's where the fun is Baby!
LYONS, GEORGIA
Jasper Nox sat perched with perfect posture on an ornate white wicker veranda chair. The screened in porch let the gentle breeze of the warm, humid day through while keeping out the pesky bugs that came along with it. The sprawling high society farmhouse sat on 75 acres of well-kept land filled with corn, onions and peach trees. He held a well-worn paperback in his good hand. Jasper had read this tawdry romance novel many times and each time he reread it, it became funnier and funnier with its absurdity. Jasper considered all manner of romance and love absolutely ridiculous, it created unnecessary complications in one's life.
“Mr. Nox sir?” A man said as he approached Jasper, carrying a glass full of crushed ice and Dr. Pepper.
“Ah, thank you, Wallace!” Jasper said, setting his book down on the glass top coffee table in front of him. Wallace handed him the glass, making sure to put it in his fully functioning hand. Jasper took a sip, drops clinging to his red mustache. “Wonderful, wonderful,” He muttered to himself in satisfaction and set the glass on a coaster next to his novel.
“Sir, I heard from our man we left on the ground. Victor Sullivan made it,” Wallace said, trying to keep the undercurrent of nerves out of his voice.
“Yes, yes I heard. Unfortunate. Marty Lagina must be losing his touch. Well, a thorn in my side to be removed on another occasion. Anything else?” He asked, fiddling absentmindedly with the wedding band on his right hand.
“Sam Drake and the girl are on the move. They set out by car yesterday. Car rental agent didn't know exactly where they were headed, but Drake estimated the added mileage to be 500 for one way.”
“And what do we know about the girl?”
“Faith Evelyn Spencer. 29. Cook with a Bachelors in Communications, only child, mother passed six months ago from kidney failure, no other living immediate family.”
“Have Bixby look into this girl a little more. Nathan Drake might be a pompous wisenheimer but he knows his relics. If he says this girl has the second Lincoln Bible in her possession, I am inclined to believe him. I want to know who she is and how she came to acquire it before they do. Then, have him and his men head to Springfield,” Jasper ordered Wallace in his southern Georgia drawl.
“Springfield, sir?” Wallace questioned.
“If you want information on Lincoln, you head to where the man was born and raised. Make sure he knows retrieving the Bible is the top priority. Bringing in Drake and the girl alive would be preferable, I do love a good bargaining chip, but tell Bixby it's not a necessity,” He said, his instructions came across as a man talking to a toddler and not a middle aged man.
“Very good sir, will there be anything else?”
Jasper looked out the side of the screened in porch towards a large magnolia tree that preceded the acres of peach trees.
“The magnolia is looking a little peaked. Make sure Mrs. Nox tends to it. I think she's around the side of the house. That will be all Wallace, thank you,” He said, taking his hand away from his wedding band and picking up his book again. Wallace left to find Mrs. Nox as Jasper straightened his back in his chair, smoothing his linen shirt down his large frame. He flipped open his book to the marked page where he left off. The hero was about to swoop in and rescue his lady love and proclaim his everlasting love any page now and Jasper was anxious for the absurdity to begin. A door on the side of the muted yellow house banged shut while Jasper flipped the dogeared corner of the book up and turned the page. Wallace pushed a wheelbarrow of dirt towards the magnolia, a small flowerbed surrounding it of cardinal flowers. Jasper's eyes flew over the lines of type with the expertise of a person that had read the book many times over. An amused smile spread across his thin lips and a gleeful chuckle came from deep in his barrel chest. His laughter grew as his hero professed his feelings for his love line after line. The silliness of how useless a feeling but yet how important it was thought to be. Wallace took a shovel and spread the dark fertilizer over the growing flower bed. Wallace took another shovel full out of the wheelbarrow, a small metal plate attached to the inside back wall of the tub. Inscribed on it was a name, DOROTHEA NOX, in perfect script.
Jasper continued to giggle as sipped his Dr. Pepper, stole a glance outside to the flowering tree. At least my wife is useful, he thought gleefully and flipped another page forward in his book.

Opus Explorations - First Impressions of Planet 8
Welcome to Opus Explorations, a regular feature hoping to provide some inspiration to those of you stuck on the world map, not sure where to turn.
In each installment we will present deck ideas along with a brief summary, a suggested list and the verdict based on actual results when run at Team Calamity OP nights (usually a 4 round Swiss). If the summary sparks a tingle in your loins, then you can access in depth profiles of each deck in separate linked articles.
With Opus VIII just about to launch, rather than deck lists this time we decided to just go with a few cards we are looking forward to trying (note we haven't seen the full list yet) . If you haven't already then read our previous post which might give you a bit more insight/context into some of the choices we make below...
Rich
Cloud
I might be completely wrong about this card, but I feel that Cloud has the potential to dethrone some of the more frequently played 5 drop fire forwards. Whilst the damage dealt in the early game feels a bit underwhelming, his damage will grow the longer the game goes on. I think the closest comparison to Cloud is Baugavern - except Cloud fits better into dual element decks, replaces the special with the ex burst effect and doesn't damage for a fixed value. And Baugavern by all accounts is a decent card for mono fire, right? The second ability is probably not going to be utilised unless it has the potential to win you the game, but it's mostly going to be risky to just use willy-nilly.
Ultimately, I think Cloud and the presence of efficient finisher damage like Iroha or Rain, could lead the the emergence of an up-tempo mono fire deck that's heavily centred on enter the field effects. Feel free to taunt me 4 weeks after release about how wrong I was, which is often the way when I open my mouth about newly spoiled fire legends...
Lasswell
Lasswell is the card I'm most excited to play this set. It is packed with power that can be problematic for your opponent on a short, medium and long term basis. The most important of Lasswell's effects is his enter the field, as I feel that in today's environment, any card without an enter the field ability is instantly less playable. It's not the most efficient way of generating an on-entry dull and freeze (I'm looking at you, Genesis...), but the efficiency comes from keeping him alive and using the on-swing effect every turn - which for 1 fire cp is nuts.
The special is a bonus more than anything - I imagine that most opponents will immediately respond to Lasswell more than any other forwards due to the pressure he brings, and keeping him alive long enough to use Azure Sky might be problematic.
The one drawback to Lasswell is that he realistically only fits into Fire/Ice decks, and even then I feel like that he requires the deck to be centred around him. Sure - he can be run as a 3 of, and devout'd back if necessary. But I think how the deck runs when Lasswell ISN'T on the field could be an issue. Still, if he performs as well as I think he can, he could be the revival piece to the competitive fire ice decks of yore.
Yuffie
Yuffie represents the ultimate value card, even if it does require a specific setup. Luckily, it will be quite easy to fulfil the 3 Category VII characters requirement via backups - had this card said forwards instead of characters I would feel very different about it.
Despite the necessity of being tied to other Category 7 cards, I think there is a lot you can do with a sneaky Yuffie ninja attack. The 1k AoE on-swing provides a cheap proc for a plethora of other decks (namely Barbarricia and Diabolos in wind, possibly Orlandeau or Opus 5 Ramuh if you feel like getting spicy with Wind Lightning featuring the Turks).
I don't think that Yuffie will be much of a game changer, and she is far from a high impact card. But I think the card represents good value if you meet the criteria and run Godo, and it nailed the flavour of what Yuffie should do in this card game - which does not include being Vincent's or Red XIII's side bitch.
Mitch
Earth – Ardyn. 1 million CP.My pick for earth card is Ardyn. Now I know what some of you are screaming at the screen “but Mitch, the world’s best player, surely you must see that this dies to Famfrit” (*Replace with your favourite way to bone this card) and let’s be honest, if this card couldn’t be removed in any way, this game would just go to deck out and be really boring, god forbid this counter play. I’m under no illusion this card is great verses all match ups and as a result isn’t going to be a 3 of. Just don’t play it vs water…But now I will get to why I like the card; it actually has nothing to do with playing the card. I like it because it forces your opponents to build their deck in a way that they have an out to it, be it Deathgaze, Vayne, Deathgaze, Famfrit or even Deathgaze. This legend will auto win some match ups if they have no easy way to remove. I understand that this card also has “counter play” in that you can break your own characters to stop this beasty from blocking. Okay. Break your stuff. Let’s take earth wind for example, what would they want to break? Cactuar? Nope A back up? Nope, that deck is so refined that it will really struggle to deal with it. Earth Wind can adapt, but while this is true it that just feeds into my first point.
Lightning – Alphinaud
I know I should of picked the Kpop girls, but honestly they don’t excite me as cards, until they get the support to search or something to make this consistent. I may be wrong but the hype isn’t there for me at the moment.
I also see a lot of promise for mono lightning this set, you have that legend that deals 1k more than a fire legend who shall be shunned (BAD PALOM) and an action that makes this card a kill on sight.
My Card however is Alphinaud, searchable, haste with the right set up, but my interest is more in the deck it opens up. I believe that WOFF monsters, paired with this, lava golem and Urianger will actually become a thing. Urianger can bring back WOFF monsters with this card; it is a cheap aggro deck with a huge aggressive side. Originally I was thinking WOFF monsters would be 9k beasts, but with Alphinaud they won’t even be blocked!
Water – Shitty finger Zidane
I think fire might actually get to see some play this set, finally becoming a game of six colours. Fire got some great cards but it also got cards in other colours that compliment it. Everyone has thought of the Sage on Zidane first turn, and don’t get me wrong, it’s incredible. But I do think Zidane is viable in any water deck.
Zidane, to me, has given something to water which was sorely lacking or at least not strong enough to play and that is an aggressive early game. Everyone knows when you play water they need to set up, but this gives them a different playstyle. Then we come to the ability that it can’t be blocked if you have 6 or more in hand. Keeping 6 in hand before you swing should be viable which forces early removal for your opponent. This allows you to keep your hand up while setting up. Oh by the way, did anyone mention this was good with Fire?
Tom
It's easy to cream over new legends so i'll go for some that are a little less obvious, but I think will be really fun.
Ice - Palom
2cp Ice forward with discard.....turbo is back! Well no it's not, thank fuck, but for 2cp you get a multi choice card with all very viable options that you can flex depending on your situation and place a forward on top. Ground breaking hero, no but I'd love to see ice evolve out from the standard Setzer, Locke VI discard package and I think there's options now to really play around with some different combos/deck setups.
Fire - Marche
This was spoiled fairly early on and I think has gone under the radar. Fire was crying out for some consistent value plays and this offers that with an EX to boot (it's searchable too). I generally don't like cards that force you into mono situations but I like fire so i'll let this pass. I'd never thought I say it but with Opus 8 buffing fire somewhat, will you be able to find space for this into a mono fire deck?! One to test out for sure.
Earth - Gladiolus
FF15 slowly crawls it's way into FFTCG, this will probably be one more for fan service. Limited to Earth CP yes, however, you are going to be running Noctis so that shouldn't be an issue meaning you get a 2cp 9k forward with a dreamy 6 pack. I also love a special and this one is decent if not a little costly. You will mainly be running for the cheap body (no pun intended). Meta defining no, but if you are a fan this will be fun. Depending on the rest of the crew and if we get another Noctis could get interesting.
Peter
Sherlotta 8-053H
Ok so for a 2cp investment, at some point in the game you can cash in Sherlotta. Put her to the break zone to generate 1cp of any element.
You could do this immediately after playing her. For just 2cp! She's certainly my hero of this set.
Let's take a look at the possibilities of this mysterious woman.
Sherlotta will be a card I'll be looking to get 3 foils of, 100%.
Wind is my favourite element and the fact that this card now exists puts wind in a very fun position. You can add any card u want into the deck. You can play Phoenix L, Exodus, Dadaluma and even Opus 2 Yuna. Oh wait... noone plays that anyway :)
From a competitive aspect. Wind is a very popular element choice currently in the meta. Now every wind deck has access to the best bkup in the game. Shantotto. Scary thought huh?
So maybe it will even bring a psycological factor now I'm thinking about it.
As you know Shantotto is like Chaos/Cosmos and taps for any cp. In fact it gains the elements so there's synergy with H Bartz straight away.
I may be mistaken but up til now there isnt a way of playing a 6cp card without discarding from your hand. I feel this is important to mention because you're taxing your hand less which is great for high ceiling turns.
Honestly can't wait to build with this card. I'll be happier than a Catholic priest in an orphanage.
Team Calamity's OP runs every Friday from 7pm at Calamity Comics in Hatfield (North of London). You can also follow us on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook (teamcalamityfftcg), contact us on email ([email protected]).
