#music hot take for the day#I’m not overly fond of ‘the other perspective’ covers of songs#like when a YouTube or TikTok singer sings a response to a popular song from the ‘girls’ perspective or from whoever else’s perspective#I feel like a commonish example is ‘Jolene’s perspective’ in response to Dolly Partons absolute hit#the one that spurred these tags was a response to Hoziers ‘Too Sweet’ from ‘the girls perspective’#huge eye roll tbh#maybe I’m just too much of a fan or something#and maybe I should shut up cause I actually didn’t watch the whole video#but it just places the narrator of Too Sweet or Jolene or whatever in such an out of context and simultaneously absolute picture#and if it floats other people’s boats then don’t listen to me#i will concede that it is a cool creative project from a writing pov#but this is all to say#not my thing#slav#slav every day#voltron
