Welcome to TJ Gives Work Advice, part idk how many: If you have to send in receipts to get expenses reimbursed, take the photo of the receipt from close enough the entire receipt is readable. You do not need to provide context in the form of including large portions of table, floor, or bottom of shopping cart surrounding the receipt in the photo. You do not need to take the photo of the receipt from a large distance (in fact, please do not do so!). You do not need to use film noir-esque lighting for the photo of the receipt. Please do not take a photo of the receipt while the receipt or the device taking the photo are in motion. This advice brought to you by paperwork I have processed today!
