don't have a lot of new stuff for the fics i've been sharing lately, so today smth different - coffee shop au is back! progress is constantly being made (slowly, but still lol) - so here's a lil buckley siblings moment (I haven't shared a buck and eddie moment in a minute lmao need to fix that soon haha)

“What?” he rolls his eyes.

“You’re crushing so hard.” she teases, and he feels his cheeks heat up.

“Shut up.” Buck grumbles, as he grabs a cloth to wipe down the counter just to have something to do. “Not like it matters anyway, he has someone.”

“Really?” Maddie frowns, tilts her head. “Did he tell you that?”

“Not in so many words.” 

“So how do you know?” she prods.

“He ordered for two people.” he says, and only when Maddie laughs, he realizes how stupid and presumptive that is. It could be for anyone, even for himself. Hell, Buck would often order something for himself and for Maddie. Didn’t Eddie say he had an abuela and a tia here? “Shut up, I know.” he groans and covers his face with his hands – and the dirty cloth that’s still in his hand.

“Ew, gross.” Maddie chuckles and pries the cloth out of his hand, dumping it on the counter. “You can be so dense sometimes.” she shakes her head. “When Eddie saw you today, his face literally lit up. He’s been waiting for you to get him his coffee, even though I could’ve done it. If you ask me, he’s crushing, too.”

“Good thing no one asked you.” Buck mutters, and Maddie playfully swats at his arm. “Ow!”

“Just ask him out, Buck, what’s the worst that could happen?” Maddie asks, before turning away just as the door opens and a customer walks in.

Coffee Shop (Part 5)

Vigilante

Part 1 (Hero) / Part 2 (Civillian) / Part 3 (Villain) / Part 4 (Superhero)

"Vigilante." Superhero breathed a harsh sigh.

Vigilante bumped their shoulder and grinned. "In the flesh. Relax, what are you so wound up for?" They were all too chipper for Superhero's taste. As per usual.

Superhero frowned and went back to watching the store. They couldn't let the wannabe hero distract them.

Undeterred, Vigilante leaned on the wall and remained where they were. "So? What's up?" they tried again, tone ever light and friendly.

Superhero tried not to grind their teeth. "What's up," they bit out, "is confidential. Now be quiet."

"Awww, mean as ever I see."

Superhero made note of two more people entering. Civillians by the looks of them. But then again, everyone who came and went appeared as such. Even the known villains were hard to spot. Was that another effect of the strange energy surrounding the place? Did it provide anonymity as well?

"Maybe you're just losing your edge, hm?"

Superhero ignored the voice in their ear. Vigilante's presence was irrelevant right now. Hero still wasn't out yet. Had they run into trouble? They hadn't ruled out that the place was a front for underground activities. If Hero was in trouble, they'd have to decide if they should go in or call for-

"They're probably just enjoying a drink. You should try one."

No, calling for back up wasn't necessary. It'd draw too much attention, too. Sidekick was away on another mission-

"-nice Chamomile might calm your nerves. Give you a break for once-"

Movement caught their eye. Superhero's focused shifted sharply...only to see a squirrel sifting through the trash. They checked their phone. Still no word from Hero.

"-eriously, the mocha I had last week-"

Superhero closed their eyes and tried to concentrate on the invisible force. It encompassed the whole building, hovering just on the surface, like background noise they would only hear when they listened for it.

The chatter in their ear died down. Superhero opened their eyes and was disappointed to see that the thorn in their side was still there. Vigilante had a curious look on their face, like they were tasting something they couldn't describe.

"You can actually feel that? Huh," they said quietly, more to themself than to Superhero. Then they looked up, their friendly smile brighter than before. "Find anything out about it?"

Superhero grit their teeth. They took a deep breath and made sure they made a show of clenching and releasing their fists. "How many times," they said slowly, softly, "must I tell you to mind your own business?"

complicating this is that one guy who comes in and is all "oh yeah, you need to steam buffalo milk at a slightly different temperature", the guy who keeps almost getting fired for trying to start a union, and izutsumi (izutsumi)

Thorne turns in his seat, ready to woo and—

He’s stunned. The stranger beside him is breathtaking. Angelic. Curvy. She has long curly hair and bright golden eyes. And three imperfect scars running down the side of her cheek.

He only pauses a second before quickly brushing the little tuft of bangs back into his eyes. He licks his lips, and tries out his most dashing smile.

She blinks at him balefully.

“Maybe I am.” He says.

A corner of her lip quirks up. “Maybe?”

The woman he meets that night changes his life forever.

Minilla was adopted by Gojira when Minya was a baby still. He wishes he could hang out around his dad more often. Minya likes to "help" his father cook on weekends tho (when Goji gets everything done so Biollante can just heat up their food) and watch Masterchef.

Suko was abandoned when he was a toddler and has little to no memory of how his mother looked like, but still has some hope of finding his parents again. He really look out to when Kong visits the orphanage and he sees him nearly as a hero. Besides Kong, he's very close the orphanage's old janitor, Joshua (Gnarled Fingers).

He's eventually adopted by Kong and Goji and he thinks Goji's scars are the coolest thing ever.

Summary: "Have you seen that new cafe on the next street from your place?"

"No -- there's a new cafe?"

"Really, Ani, you didn't know?"

He shrugged. "Haven't had any reasons to walk down that street lately. It's nothing but several real estate offices, an empty lot, and that parcel-holding container building."

"Well, that parcel-holding place is now a cafe, and I stopped by there yesterday. They have great coffee, and their brownies are to die for -- so fudgy!"

"Oh?" Anakin's eyes lit up. This area already had several coffee shops and cafes, but he wouldn't say no to more options. "Let's go there after lunch."

Thanks to Padme, who has told him about the new coffee shop in the area, Anakin not only has a new place to visit every day, but he falls in love with the owner. Cafe Stella becomes his new hang-out spot, and his days are filled with excellent drinks, delicious food, a super cute dog, and an incredibly sexy shop owner in a fluffy slice-of-life romance flavour.

just got a new idea for buddie+madney fic, that I wanna get to when I'm done with the possessive buddie fic lol - inspired by the 'in the heights" soundtrack and kinda Vanessa and Usnavi bc I was listening to it on my way to work haha

here's the first ever moodboard I made (or threw together in two minutes lol), it sucks and it's so not gonna be a regular thing but I wanted to give it a try haha

basically the idea is: an au where Buck isn't a firefighter, and he and Maddie own a coffee shop Eddie starts to frequent (and gets free coffee bc Buck's into him a la Vanessa and Usnavi lol), and he and Buck flirt for months without doing anything about it, and then one day Chimney goes there too and immediately scores a date bc Maddie has better game than Buck - and later Eddie finally asks Buck out too (and the idea is still forming so we'll see haha)

I don't have any snippet bc I haven't started writing it yet, just a chaotic outline of a convo I scribbled on my break today lol but it's gonna be fluffy and adorable and I'm so excited to write some madney tbh haha
