How old are you? i’m 20

What’s your current job? my current job is “college student” but i’ll probably be working this summer. just some sort of retail thing, i’m hoping i can find a less stressful position than the last one i worked

What are you talented at? um. one thing i am not particularly talented at is naming these sorts of qualities about myself, but. i suppose minus some mental health hiccups i’m decent at academics. i can make song lyrics and poems scan pretty well, often off the top of my head? and i tackle a lot of craft-type projects, although the quality of some of the results is debatable

What’s your aesthetic? natural history museums with old bones and new discoveries somehow coexisting and wandering through their underground collections, national parks and aquariums and observatories, informational signs on hikes and roadsides telling you about the wonders of the natural world, fog rolling in, the sound of rain, staring up at the stars and wondering what could be out there, piles upon piles of notebooks, bookstores where the organization is loose and the shelves are tight with messy stacks and handwritten notes, old science-and-sci-fi magazines -- in a few words, the concept of discovery

Do you collect anything? i am attempting to collect fossils, but i haven’t been able to look for any in the field myself, so their quality/authenticity is dubious. still, they make fun little decorations, and i hope someday i can actually have a more impressive collection

What’s a topic you always talk about? generally whatever work of fiction is on my mind -- at the moment it would be the adventure zone, although star wars deserves a mention too. i talk about it a lot. if you get me going, i can talk pretty extensively about the importance of science and science education, and how it fosters a very important mindset that i think could do the world a lot of good.

What’s a pet peeve of yours? i’d say “pessimism” but even i am very guilty of that mindset of late. i guess it’s more the factors that contribute to it that bother me -- people not respecting the world we live in and each other

that’s pretty heavy for a pet peeve though. i’ll also say “people playing music very loudly in the dorms when i am trying to sleep”

Good advice to give? be an explorer -- even if you find nothing new, the simple act of asking questions is powerful What are three songs you’d recommend?

How do you feel: Never Quite Free (it’s been a long and bad week for my mental health but i’m feeling ok now)

If you could go anywhere: Tianchi Lake (IT WAS SO HARD TO PICK JUST ONE....this band goes to so many places....this song felt soothing to me so there)

Favourite mode of transportation: Dance Music (i listen to music literally everywhere i go no matter what mode of transportation so the music i listen to is more important than whatever mode of transportation i take (except for planes i hate planes), so divorced from its lyrical content, this is the song title i’m going with) 

Your best friend: Color in Your Cheeks (i love this song and i think it generally captures my friendships with people pretty well, we just show up and hang out and it’s a chill time and i love all of my friends a lot) 

Favourite time of day: Luna (it references the moon it totally counts)

Relationship status: Romans 10:9, frankly i gotta work on myself right now plus i’ve always been single and it’s chill
