ok but the thing abt utena is that unfortunately most of the posts that I see abt it online are people doing incredibly annoying elitist "well actually you need to be very very smart to understand anything abt the show at all, it's all So obtuse and esoteric that you need 10 phds to figure out what the themes are" bullshit so it's extremely funny to watch it and realize that no actually I do not think they could make these metaphors anymore obvious. half of the metaphors aren't even metaphorical at this point they are just showing you the thing that is happening
