Kids these days will never understand how groundbreaking it was that The Rock’s elbow pad came off and stayed off in this game.

You see the figure step out of the shadows and see a very muscular man standing at 6'4 feet tall wearing sunglasses, an expensive looking unbuttoned shirt and leather pants with a bull belt buckle.
"Who am I? The pie eating, jabroni beating, Great One, Brahma bull, the most electrifying man in all of sports and entertainment! I am The Rock"
The Rock then starts to pace back and forth and raises his eyebrow
"Oh and one more thing, "friend", The Rock is going to use you as a warm up match before The Rock whoops the new Paramount champion's ass, especially that blue mutated freak-fish, Gillion"
I have already declined you, Rock. I don't know what your taunts and insults want to achieve, but I believe I said no clear enough.

It’s been a week since the Voltron movie bidding was announced and got a lot of interest in Hollywood from well, pretty much everyone but Netflix, the disinterest presumably a combination of Legendary Defender flopping on its face and the company having not one but two giant robot movies in the pipeline, a Hasbro produced Power Rangers movie and a Mobile Suit Gundam movie.
And a lot of the VLD fandom…really doesn’t get the goal of the film. To wit, a few things need to be established under the cut.
1. VLD was as far as a casual audience, a huge failure. I’ve been beating this drum for a while, but it’s true. Toy sales were so bad the licensed toy company (Playmates) publicly announced the sales sucked before discontinuing the line, although hilariously enough they still sell classic 80s Voltron. Pretty much every attempt at continuing or expanding the VLD universe was quashed ending with Universal/Dreamworks willingly letting the license expire and revert to WEP TV. Inc.
2. For the reasons listed above, WEP not only legally cannot base the movie on Legendary Defender, they really, REALLY don’t want to. Apparently the David Hayter treatment was set to use VLD elements, but was turned down by Universal, with Koplar going on record that Universal, AND I QUOTE FROM VOLTCON 2020 “didn’t get Voltron.”
3. The core of a Voltron movie is right in the Peter Cullen narration in the original cartoon. “A mighty robot, loved by good, feared by evil.” VLD really missed the goddamn point of Voltron (which is probably why it was such a failure among casual audiences). If the Red Notice director pitched a treatment that made WEP excited about the film and got all these studios bidding, odds are it heavily involves the robot and elements casual audience can latch on to.
4. Traditionally speaking, the Tumblr/Twitter audience is a very loud, but very small, low income audience. Think about shows specifically aimed for Tumblr audiences and how badly their merchandise sales have done among casual audiences. She-Ra (sold to Amazon for a live-action show with only merchandise based on the 80s show), Kipo (no merch to speak of), Owl House (every tie-in canceled and the show canceled because it was unpopular), etc. The people who think that the production will bend over to appeal to VLD fans are quite frankly out of their minds. VLD fans will likely be ignored in everything from casting (Allura will probably be white because it will generate distance from VLD and because sex appeal) to plot (expect way more giant robot action) to characterization (no Shiro, possibly a Sven that dies early if he isn’t written out), done to appeal to that casual audience that is proven to be turned off by overfocus on elements Tumblr crowds push. Someone suggested casting John Rhys Darby as Coran again but I’m pretty sure if any of the VLD actors show up to audition Bob Koplar will chase them out of the building with a shotgun.
5. The Rock may or may not be in the film. If he is, he’ll play Commander Hawkins or some sort of senior character. Because if you want eyeballs, you get the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.

Most onstage posing routines, even the most graceful, well-rehearsed and thoughtfully choreographed, ultimately tread pretty much the same kinetic ground. When successful, they highlight a competitor’s strongest assets while downplaying their weaknesses and, at their best, are entertaining in some way that’s pretty much forgotten the moment the next man or woman takes the stage. (Of course, I’m intentionally not referring to those embarrassing and over-the-top freak shows—usually inflicted upon the audience by a special guest star or two—that employ various masks, costumes, props, and/or ludicrous “dance moves” in a vain attempt to “electrify” a crowd. Those can be plenty memorable, but almost always for all the wrong reasons.) So, when a bodybuilder steps before the proscenium and does present something fresh, new, and not totally humiliating for everyone present, it’s unusual enough to garner attention among the “sport’s” cognoscenti and diehard fans.
And Antoine Vaillant’s routine at last year’s Olympia finals has definitely been subjected to its fair share of attention. Always an adventurous and innovative performer, the strikingly handsome Canadian somehow managed to take what could have been awkward, ungainly, and/or unflattering non-poses—more akin, at times, to avant-garde dance positions or even tumbling formations than to the traditional flexed stances—and weave them together into a very unique and arresting, if not entirely seamless, showcase for both his astounding physique and his quirkily intense persona. That it works at all is a small miracle, really, and, to my mind, it does, by and large work, at least in terms of distinguishing Vaillant as a serious contender willing to risk ridicule and/or conservative backlash in order to stand out from the rest of the massively bulging crowd. It’s no wonder that some of the more hidebound commentators out there particularly took umbrage with the fair amount of floor work, during which Vaillant slides effortlessly into a backward-facing pair of splits, sweeps his extended body gracefully across a small expanse of the stage, and transitions from one unusual splayed-leg position to another. Though performed with a matter-of-fact dexterity, it’s impossible not to notice how these sequences boldly leave Antoine’s impressive ass, barely-covered penis, and suggestively soft, pale soles exposed, if not actually put on intentional display. What those uptight talking heads were objecting to was the unambiguous sexuality of the performance. While hardly obscene—Bob Paris was writhing and slinking through far more salacious routines in the 1980s—it seems to have crossed a bit of an unspoken line in present-day bodybuilding, which boils down to a frigid and hostile aversion to anything even vaguely homoerotic on American IFBB stages. I’d assert that it was just as much this now uncommon—but once de rigueur—dash of overt male sensuality as it was any innovative poses or eccentric transitions that ultimately distinguished Vaillant’s turn in the spotlight from the rest of the preening pack. It did get people talking about him, at the very least, which might not have been a win, but was definitely a coveted consolation prize. And, yeah, it is pretty damn hot.

He has been dubbed The Great One, The People’s Champion and The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment. Mere words fail to capture the essence of the most charismatic Superstar of all time, though the catchphrase “boots to asses” comes awfully close. The first third-generation Superstar in WWE history, the man born Dwayne Johnson was destined for sports-entertainment immortality since birth, but his rise to the status of a pop culture icon was harder to predict. In the time since he made his debut as a grinning good guy at the 1996 Survivor Series, The Brahma Bull has won eight WWE Championships, headlined WrestleMania, hosted “Saturday Night Live,” written a New York Times bestselling autobiography, top-billed the popular HBO series “Ballers” and starred in films like “Fast Five” and “The Game Plan,” which have grossed literally billions of dollars. The amazing thing is, he’s just getting started. Son of WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson, the University of Miami football standout showed promise early when he won the Intercontinental Championship within months of first setting foot in the ring. From there, The Rock’s momentum never slowed, as he laid the smackdown on “Attitude Era” rivals like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Triple H while spouting off endless catchphrases that immediately became part of national conversation. With one eyebrow cocked, The People’s Champion would warn jabronis to “Know your role and shut your mouth” or “Just bring it!” before delivering his devastating finishing maneuver, The Rock Bottom, on the way to victory. The 6-foot-5 competitor was soon fielding offers to star in films like “The Scorpion King” and “Gridiron Gang” thanks to the endless charisma and appeal he exuded in the squared circle. Despite a record-setting Hollywood career that included roles in the “Fast & Furious” franchises as well as “Pain & Gain,” “Hercules” and “San Andreas,” The Rock still returned to the ring against John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII, won the WWE Championship from CM Punk in 2013 and defended it against Cena once again at WrestleMania 29 — all while proving to WWE’s newest generation of fans what their elders already knew: That he truly is The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment. If ya smellllllll …

Things I Love in Wrestling Pt. 2
I love a great rivalry. Whether it be fueled by emotion, storytelling, or just flat-out competition, a great rivalry gives us wrestling fans a reason to love what goes on in the squared circle. Here are some honorable mentions:
Tumblr media
Shawn Michaels vs Triple H
This is one of the main examples of enemies to friends to lovers in the wrestling world. They fought wars against each other, banded together to fight wars against others in the ring, and had spectacular matches in their singles careers. This rivalry constantly has people debating who was the better man, but what us undeniable is that this feud was red hot. Notable matches in their rivalry would Armageddon '02, Survivor Series '02, and Bad Blood '04.
Tumblr media
Kane vs Undertaker
The old saying goes that nobody wins when the family feuds, but I'll be damned if the fights aren't entertaining. Bump and Boo the Spooky Two, aka Kane and Undertaker, were brothers from Parts Unknown who had amazing in ring work rates. Just like Triple H vs HBK, Kane and Taker were friends, enemies, and brothers. In all three of those aspects, the two had great matches. Their prime has since passed, but their impact is felt forever in the hearts of wrestling fans. Their best matches were at Wrestlemania 20, as well as a few episodes of Smackdown from '06-'08.
And now on to some of my favorites!
Tumblr media
Lita vs Trish Stratus
(Left to right: Lita, Trish Stratus)
Two generational wrestlers with completely different styles, Lita and Trish Stratus have participated in amazing feuds in their careers. During a time when the women of WWE were (sometimes) treated like dogs, these two were at the forefront of why women's wrestling was important. Other game changers in the 2000s include Jazz, Mickey James, and Gail Kim. Their most notable match was at Wrestlemania X-8 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for the Women's Championship (pictured).
Tumblr media
The Four Horsewomen vs Each Other
(Left to right: Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch)
Moving from the Ruthless Aggression Era to the NXT Era, these four women revolutionized women's wrestling in NXT. Before them, NXT was recognized as WWE's developmental brand where wrestlers went when they weren't good enough to work on Raw and Smackdown. After them, NXT was recognized as Smackdown and Raw's equal and a proper third brand. One of the reasons why? The Four Horsewomen. They've had singles matches, tag matches, title matches, Wrestlemania matches, and as of May 14th, 2020, one (1) fatal four way match involving them. I honestly implore you to watch this rivalry. Starting in NXT back in 2014 to the present day, the Four Horsewomen are a beacon of hope in a sport that, at times, seems extremely bleak as far as storylines. The most notable matches are Sasha Banks vs Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Takeover Brooklyn 1, Becky Lynch vs Charlotte in a Last Woman Standing Match for the Smackdown Women's Championship at Evolution 1, and Sasha Banks vs Charlotte at Hell in a Cell 2016.
Also, congratulations to Becky Lynch on your pregnancy, here's to your years of service, have an amazing maternity leave! 🍾
Tumblr media
Keith Lee vs Dominik Dijakovic
(Left to right: Dominik Dijakovic, Keith Lee)
How to describe this feud in tumblr terms...? Ah! I got it!
Big Beefy Bois Doing Things That Beefy Bois Shouldn't Be Able To Do.
The most recent example of Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better, Dijakovic and Lee started lighting up NXT last year, and have put on entertaining matches every time they step into the ring.
This feud has everything: Mutual respect, likeable characters, fan support, and most of all, really really good wrestling. Every match of their matches are amazing, watch all of them.
Tumblr media
Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon
This rivalry has a lot of layers that honestly make it seen like a fever dream. Here's some of them:
Infidelity
Buying the competition
Treating Trish Stratus like a dog
Levels of resentment that are ABSOLUTELY MENTAL
And the worst example of father-son bonding
This storyline is a soap opera from start to finish, and if you're a fan of twists and turns, this is the one for you. Their blowoff match was a Street Fight at Wrestlemania X-7 in Houston, Texas, but the entire feud is absolutely bananas.
Tumblr media
The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin
Moving from one Attitude Era rivalry to another, it's the most electrifying game of You Think That's Good? Hold My Beer. A lot of people only know The Rock as a movie star, but he was also an excellent wrestler. His matches were amazing, his promos were breathtaking, and the one wrestler to truly match that energy is Stone Cold. Austin also cut great promos, his best one coming after he won King of the Ring in 1996. The crowd reactions when they walk out is like nothing else, and there's nothing that has come close to it ever since. Their notable matches being the Wrestlemania Trilogy at 15, X-7, and 19 (pictured).
Tumblr media
Tomasso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano
(Left to right: Tomasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano)
From the greatest Attitude Era rivalry to NXT's portrayal of Friends to Enemies to Lovers to Enemies again, Gargano vs Ciampa is the greatest story in NXT.
They burst onto the scene as Projecy DIY, a tag team that lit the yellow brand on fire. The two wrestlers were over like rover with the fans, but could never quite win the big one. During their run, Gargano and Ciampa had a one on one match during the first Ceuiserweight Classic, with Ciampa winning. This where the dissention started to show. They won the tag titles at NXT Takeover Toronto, and all was safe... for now. At NXT Takeover Chicago 1, they lost the titles, and Project DIY was over. And so began the greatest rivalry in NXT history. Through injury, emotion, and immaculate storytelling, this is an Oscar-winning piece of wrestling history.
Just like Lee vs Dijakovic, all their matches are great, and the storyline is like no other.
And that's some of my favorite wrestling rivalries! What are some of yours? Let me know!

Casting my WIP:  “Blade of Penance Volume I:  Bore of Great Sacrifice”
Haven’t posted anything in a while thought I would put up a fun game for us aspiring authors out there.  My first draft nears completion.  Just a the final fight, “mop-up” and a couple appendices to write.  Hoping to be done this week while I am on vacation. *fingers crossed*
Anyway, I saw a YouTube video posted by an authortuber I follow named Kim Chance where she went through the dream casting of her newest book Seeker (soon to be released here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5Rmhm8HhE8).  I was thinking while I was running some errands earlier today I should do something similar.  If my novel(s) ever get made into a movie whom would I cast as each character?  So I decided to post that here and see what other authors/aspiring authors would cast as their characters.  Name the character, a brief description of them, then the actor/actress and why you would cast them.
Here are the rules:  #1)  You have to use the actors/actresses as they are TODAY.  No using “Early 80′s Arnold” or Clint Eastwood like he was when he played Dirty Harry.  It also goes without saying you can’t use actors that have retired from acting or passed away.  #2)  If there is a seminal movie/tv show in your genre you cannot use actors from that franchise.  Since this rule can really make things difficult you can use up to TWO exceptions to rule #2.  Since my WIP is epic fantasy both actors from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies and Game of Thrones are disqualified.
Okay here we go.
Dorath:
The father of my hero Kaaldor.  A former general and hero of the Battle of Gos.  The last scion of the House of Dranus who’s progenitor alongside Ka’Reyus The Elven Warrior King lead the Great Liberation against the Dragon Rule of Rab Yangin 500 years ago.  Few either human or elf could match his skill with the blade save maybe one.
At first I thought of The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment:  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  I even used his physique as a bit of a template when I was doing up his character model.  However in the end I thought he should be cast a bit younger (Don’t hit me with the People’s Elbow Rock.)
Therefore I will use one of my exceptions early and go with Aquaman, aka Kahl Drogo, Mr. Jason Mamoa.
Tumblr media
Ka’Reyus:
The Elven Warrior King and Grandfather to my hero.  Unquestionably the greatest warrior alive.  Has gone unmatched in swordsmanship for over 500 years.  Single headedly fought and slew three dragons at once.  Him and Dranus (Dorath’s ancestor) tag-teamed to slay the corrupted dragon lord Rab Yangin to free the continent of Kalis from drake rule.  Is Dorath his equal as a warrior??? SPOILERS :)
For him I batted around a few choices including Liam Neeson and Russel Crowe of course cgi would have to be used to size them down because as an elf Ka’Reyus was only 5 feet tall.
I finally decided on Wolverine himself (aka Jean ValJean, aka PT Barnum) Hugh Jackman.
Tumblr media
(Yes this is an older pic... but I wanted one of him as Wolverine :) )
Princess Almelphia:
Mother of Kaaldor.  Only child of Ka’Reyus.  The unchallenged beauty of Elvendom.  All the nobility compete for her attention not only for her beauty but that whomever she chose as her husband would be the likely successor to the elven throne.  She is also is the only member of the royal house with any magical ability, even though it is just limited to reading the memories left behind on things/people that she touches.  While my hero was growing up she always called him her “little champion” and he did everything he could to live up to that title.
She was a tough choice.  If I wanted to use my second exception I would have chosen The Khalessi herself Emilia Clarke but considering Jason Mamoa is Dorath… that may be a little much.  I also considered Miranda Otto (aka Eowyn) but again didn’t want to use my second exception.  Therefore I decided to go with Jenna Coleman aka Clara Oswald from Dr. Who, and Queen Victoria on Victoria.
Tumblr media
Here she is from the “Robin Hood Episode” of Dr. Who so you could see how she would look in a fantasy setting.
Ka’Vatch:
Lifelong friend of Ka’Reyus and Elvul Ka’s(the elven nation’s) foremost smith.  Him and Ka’Reyus both learned their weaponry by working his father’s forge.  Growing up Kaaldor learned from Ka’Vatch at the same forge.  To be a great warrior you must both know your weapons and then know yourself.  The weapons part started with Ka’Vatch after an 8 year old Kaaldor hid in his smith from bullies that didn’t like that he was half human.
For him I thought about Michael Ironside.  Granted you usually see him as a bad guy (and he plays a great villain, especially with his voice work... if they ever do a live action version of Darkseid they should have him reprise the role from his voice work on Superman: TAS etc).  However age is a factor.  Therefor I chose Josh Brolin aka Thanos… aka Cable.
Tumblr media
Ka’Draoi: (pronounced Ka’ DREE, gotta love Gaelic)
Grand Thaumaturge of Elvul Ka’ and one of the world’s most powerful wizards.  He draws his power from the Blue Flame like all elves and fought along side Ka’Reyus and Dranus in The Great Liberation.  Being such a long time friend of the king he can often get away with breaches of proper decorum and has been known to have a bit of a ...shall we say “unique” sense of humour.
My original choice for this role was of course Sean Connery... but he has been retired from acting for some time.  I thought about Terrance Stamp (aka General Zod from Superman II, my all time favourite movie villain) but decided against it.  I didn’t want to use another exception or to be seen as him being a Gandalf clone so no Sir Ian McKellan.
In the end I chose another James Bond Pierce Brosnan, he can command the regal presence and wisdom Ka’Draoi needs, plus have the comic timing to pull off the sense of humour needed.
Tumblr media
Ok.  That covers Kaaldor’s family and the elves.  Now lets move on to some more human characters.
Admiral Jagaran:
He is the Admiral of the Palan fleet (the main villain nation of the story) and in command of its new flagship The Jorgmundr (a ship completely made of dragonbone).  He is a very skilled warrior, especially at see and a cunning strategist.  He always takes the most straightforward path to victory whether it is an honourable choice or not.  However he has been known to let his ego get the better of him.
My first choice was Peter Wingfield.  Highlander fans will recognise him as Methos from the 90′s Highlander TV series.  (As a point of trivia I watched some of Methos’ sword fights on the series to map out some of this character’s move sets).  However he has apparently retired from acting and at last report was pursuing a career in medicine.
So instead I went with Rome’s Ray Stevenson, he has been in many other things but I mostly know him as Titus Pullo on Rome, Volstagg from the MCU and as Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone (I should dust that one off I haven’t watched it in a while)
Tumblr media
Anonyus:
The Mage assigned to the Jorgmundr.  Although he technically outranks Jagaran as he is a mage his role on the ship is similar to that of a “political officer” on the old Soviet ships.  He is your classic sadist that makes King Joffrey and Reese Bolton look like boy scouts.  He prefers to invoke fear in his adversaries of what he may do than to actually inflict the pain.
For him I went back to the MCU and chose Tom Hiddleston, aka Loki.  I just love him as a villain.
Tumblr media
(Point of trivia... he originally auditioned for the part of Thor... go fig because he was so good as Loki.)
Armorton:
The chief slave-driver on The Jorgmundr, and a sadist son of a... gun (trying to keep this PG) in his own right.  He takes perverse pleasure in publicly and brutally executing slaves that can no longer work in the bowels of the ship... or just make an example of.  As he is more a hand to hand brute than a swordsman I went with a wrestler/actor for him.  Dave Bautista from Guardians of the Galaxy (gee I am pulling a lot from the MCU) and Spectre, also a former WWE Champion.
Tumblr media
Ok... let’s get away from the villains for a bit.
Dex:
The classic dashing rogue.  Thinks he is “the pyres” gift to women and even names his lockpicks after his conquests.  Never met a maiden he didn’t want to hit on.  Or a full coin-purse he didn’t want to cut.  Always ready with a witty retort but also willing to help when he sees something unjust.  Kaaldor sometimes sees him as his best friend... and other times wants to punch him.  But they somehow make it work as they defend the village of Belieret from the warlord Tyv.
This character needs the comic timing that only Ryan Reynolds can provide.  I have been a fan of his since he was in Blade: Trinity (not as bad as everybody says) and he was dead on casting as Deadpool.
Tumblr media
Klok:
A Baegian merchant that is one of the few in Belieret willing to learn how to fight to protect his new home.  His own brother betrayed him when the Baegian King became a vassal for Q’Rab The Sorcerer King of Palis and Klok began to speak ill of the new regime.  He couldn’t let hit happen again with Tyv.
I have chosen a bit of an odd choice.  A TV actor named Alimi Ballard.  He has been on many TV shows but I mostly remember him as David Sinclair on Numb3rs.
Tumblr media
Ok lets do some more villains then we will go for the Hero and Heroine.
Tyv:
The warlord that is pulling the old extortion racket on the village of Belieret.  He blames Ka’Reyus for ***SPOILERS***.  Little do the villagers know he is just a cog in the machinery of one of Q’Rab’s plans.  In the meantime he plans to take his revenge on Ka’Reyus by sending him Kaaldor’s head.
For this I am going cast Clancy Brown, mostly because he played my #2 all time favourite movie villain The Kurgan in Highlander.  You would also recognise him from The Shawshank Redemption and Starship Troopers.  He as also done a lot of voice work, including Lex Luthor for Superman: TAS, Savage Oppress on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob SquarePants (lol).
Tumblr media
Hespera:
Apprentice to the Sorcerer Q’Rab and Master/Mistress to Anonyus.  She suffers no failure and many of her apprentices have felt her wrath.  None have lived to tell the tale.  Her vanity is her weakness and although devoted to Q’Rab for centuries she has been known to have her own machinations to undermine his plans.  You only briefly see her in the first book... but I plan to have her take a much larger role in book 2.
For her... if she is willing to be a redhead my first choice is Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot.  She can be both regal, the flirt to ensnare men but then switch gears to be something menacing all at once.
Tumblr media
(come on I had to choose a Wonder Woman pic... all the world is waiting for you... and the powers you possess :) )
Q’Rab:
Sorcerer King of Palis and has ruled for over 200 years.  He draws his power from the Black Flame and rarely gets his hands dirty himself but is always a Master of Puppets pulling strings from afar.  All under his rule are fanatically devoted to him.  Whenever he is mentioned they finish the sentence with “May his reign be eternal”.   It has yet to be determined who is the more powerful wizard if him and Ka’Draoi were to meet in a duel, and the true goal of his plans while he is at war with the nation of Corlot are ****SPOILERS****.  His origins are ***SPOILERS***.
For him I went with a bit of an odd choice, I needed a classical type of actor but one that wasn’t your standard English baddie.  I went with Alexander Siddig.  While best known as Dr. Bashir on Star Trek:  Deep Space Nine, he also has a long movie and TV career including 24, Gotham on the small screen and Kingdom of Heaven and The Nativity Story on the big screen.  If he can pull off both The Angel Gabriel and Ra’s Al Ghul he can pull of Q’Rab.  (Note:  As he was also Doran Tyrell on Game of Thrones... he is my second exception)
Tumblr media
Ok... you are saying enough with the villains.  Fine lets get to the main event.  My hero and heroine.  First the Heroine:
Renna:
Daughter of the captain of The Divine Lady, the ship that Kaaldor is a passenger on when The Jorgmundr strikes.  While able to fight for herself knows when she is out of her depth and instead fits into the facilitator role to get Kaaldor what he needs to win.  She can also act as the diplomat to Kaaldor’s brute force as she knows not every problem can best be solved by the right amount of smashing.  She is not the damsel in distress like Lois Lane that always needs a Superman to rescue her, but she also knows she doesn’t have to be Xena to be strong either.
This one was a hard choice... The aforementioned Jenna Coleman was a strong contender at one point.  I also considered Rosa Salazar (loved her in Alita Battle Angel) however in the end (maybe because I just did a binge watch of Cobra Kai over the Labour Day Weekend) I chose Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso on Cobra Kai).  Her look is the right combo of innocence, beauty and strength which is what you need to play Renna.
Tumblr media
Finally.
Kaaldor:
The hero of the story.  Half-elf and half human.  Trained by his grandfather since he was eight years old to be a warrior without equal.  He was even able to fight Ka’Reyus to a draw.  Though of the elvish royal family very few fully accept him as part of elvish society.  He can never let an injustice stand and sometimes gets himself deep in a bad situation by acting without thinking.  But still is the one willing to act when others are too scared to.  In the end he must complete his quest to ***SPOILERS***
For him I originally thought of Daniel Cudmore, I best remember him as Colossus in X-Men 2 and X-Men 3 (boy did three SUCK).  However in the end thought a Hemsworth was a better fit.  Not Chris (Thor)… but Liam (Expendables 2, The Hunger Games).  (Note:  He will probably have to bulk up a bit as when I wrote the character I was thinking “Early 80′s Arnold”)
Tumblr media
Well There you go... It was a lot of fun going through this.  For all you authors/aspiring authors out there... lets see your own lists.  Use the Tag below. :)

Rampage (2018)
Tumblr media
Action blockbuster based on the Rampage video game franchise. A gorilla, wolf and an alligator become infected and continually grow and mutate after becoming infected by an experiment gone wrong. The creatures are lured into the city by the organisation responsible for their condition where they proceed to destroy anything in their path.
Former WWE, WWF and WCW Champion The Rock stars as the primatologist who had originally rescued and raised the gorilla. The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment must find a way to protect the city and his gorilla from the rogue scientists, the other mutants and the government.
Tumblr media
Featured Wrestler:
The Rock as Davis Okoye
Wrestle Rating:
4 out of 5 rats in space
Tumblr media
An utterly ridiculous and highly enjoyable movie as long as you can accept all the insanity going on. The Brahma Bull features in a variety of action sequences but none of them wrestling related. The Great One is excellent as always.

Hi darling :) since you’re still taking requests, I would love one about how the guys take care of and comfort yoongi when he’s anxious and stressing 💜
He doesn’t really look at him, when it happens. Jin, his Jin-hyung, he gets it. He’s a hyung too, and for that, Yoongi doesn’t dare to let him see his tears—but they have their particular roommates bond, and his hyung sees.
Yoongi hates it, because—because although Jin’s known as being part of the maknae line because of his pure cheer…he’s still their hyung. And it comes with responsibilities, responsibilities Yoongi knows better than anyone. And he speaks of those worries, through hidden tears and tightening chest, refuses for Jin to take care of him—
But his hyung, his Jin-hyung, he does it anyway.
There’s respect, the respect that knows, as Jin adverts his eyes. But he’s still so immensely comforting, when he tugs Yoongi into a half-embrace and brings his head to his sturdy shoulders. He’s an immense comfort, this amazing man, with the ridiculous stories he comes up with on the sport in which Yoongi is the princess and he’s some half Knight, half Prince here to save him.
Yoongi hits him lightly but doesn’t tell him to stop. Encourages him, all bubbly and mellow, because he likes this—this not looking at him when he’s at his weakest, the solid embrace, the lame stories.
It works for them, it’s Jin’s love, and Yoongi bathes in it like it’s a never-ending sea.
Hoseok always panics when he catches him crying. Always. They’re close enough for Yoongi to let him see when he’s at his lowest, yet, Hoseok never gets used to it. Hoseok’s always wide eyes and mouth open turning down-turned as his arms comically flails. It’s understandable, Yoongi guesses. Most of the time they’re happy together. Most of the time, it’s Yoongi comforting Hoseok while bribing him with food, because he’s the one Hoseok shows a different part of him; he’s the one that’s here, present, when being a literal sun takes too much of Hoseok’s energy.
The panic never stays, though. Hoseok’s quick. He’s quicksilver and sharp and already on his feet, dashing away only to come back minutes later, breathless, with a giant Kumamon plush that fills Yoongi’s eyes with stars.
And it never gets tiring, it’s never old, Yoongi’s always surprised—and delighted, too. Cheeks hurting with how much he smiles when Hoseok’s voice changes, becoming funny and springy and ridiculously high-pitched as he moves the plush and talks to Yoongi like he’s a precious child.
He’s understanding, he gets it, knows Yoongi’s aware things will get better, but anxiety and depression don’t go away with that knowledge. He knows, and he distracts Yoongi’s attention from the problem at hands—and when Yoongi remembers, it’s with new eyes, with a new perspective, with faith that things will be okay.
Yoongi’s always, always grateful for this man. This man that colors grey skies blue, and paints the sun with his bare hands.
Namjoon knows not to talk. He’s tried, in the beginning, when it was just the two of them, Runch Randa and Gloss—“those were fucking stupid names”,“we were young…”—Because Namjoon has a way with words, knows them better than anyone and is skilled in manipulating them. Namjoon was wise and lengthy talks around a bottle of beer or three, but Yoongi wasn’t. Yoongi loved him, loved his words, but they were never useful when he was the verge of a panic attack—when he compared himself with the lowest of trash and entertained the idea of hurting himself further.
They’ve been together too long, Namjoon picks up the pieces at one point. Namjoon gets it, gets him, perhaps more than he even gets himself.
It’s Namjoon who finds him. Because Yoongi would rather die than seek comfort from anyone. It’s fine, Namjoon finds him, and Namjoon lifts him on his lap the way Yoongi loves. Back to chest and arms around his waist. It’s a notebook, too, all blank, and coloring pencils Yoongi had thrown in his face the first time he presented them to it.
Now Yoongi accepts them gratefully, and draws his worries away. Namjoon hums against his neck and doesn’t give advice, because he sucks at drawing and Yoongi’s too honest to not tell him. But he’s here, and he gets it,
and that’s enough. Has always been, and always will.
Taehyung’s always so fucking supportive, Yoongi cries harder when the man’s done with him. It’s different, every damn time, because Yoongi actively avoids the maknae line like the plague when he’s feeling down. They’re all manly now, but somewhere in Yoongi’s heart, they’re still his children—he fucking raised them—and you just don’t cry in front of your children.
That’s the part of him that conveniently forgets they’re in a weird relationship of sort, Yoongi’s a genius like that.
But it’s like they have a radar. One moment, Yoongi would be on the ground with a tight throat and trying to fight away tears—the other, there would be a frantic Taehyung barging in the room, coats in hands and hollering for his hyung to “let’s have a date, pretty please!”
Yoongi’s never in the mood. But Taehyung gets him in it anyway. Taehyung’s large and soft hands in his, enveloping Yoongi in a thousand layers of clothes because he’s aware his Hyung gets cold easily; Taehyung’s never-ending support and walks in Seoul’s electrifying alleys to share the beauty he finds in them with him.
Taehyung turns bad days in date days and Yoongi wishes he could hate it. But he doesn’t. He’s cared for with enchanting walks in Seoul, chatters that never mean nothing and a comforting hand that’s charged and energizing like the most effective tears-stopper.
Those things don’t exist. But Kim Taehyung does.
He’s persistent, and Yoongi can’t get away. Tries to, obviously. Fights the arms pinning him down, failing to hide his blotched face and red eyes in the process—and that only makes Jimin cries too, and they’re two fucking crybabies except Jimin’s just too empathetic for his own good. He just needs to get a look at Yoongi’s somber face, just one. And then they’re two bodies on the ground, on the couch, on the bed; wherever, really. Two bodies way too close and tears and Jimin mumbling nonsense on the sensitive spot near Yoongi’s collarbones. It’s not the man that teases Yoongi and harassed him whenever he gets the chance—this man is nowhere in sight.
Jimin’s full of empathy; of vibes all red and fiery, of usually repressed explosion of feelings in a bottle of gentleness, finally exploding for Yoongi to swallow them all up, for Yoongi to drink without either of them knowing.
He sees black and grey and black again for a while. But everything’s shaken up when Jimin’s here. Always when Jimin’s here. Jimin doesn’t get it like the others do, but he’s eager, so eager and ready to share Yoongi’s pain, it doesn’t make a difference, in the end. Jimin leaves his skin pleasantly scorching like the first licks of fire after a snowy day. Jimin’s comforting hugs are big and warm and all-encompassing—like fresh sheets out of the dryer, a familiar and deliciously good smell all over them.
That’s Jimin. All of this, it’s him, it’s Jimin. And that’s enough comfort. Enough for the tears to become freeing and his breathing, more relaxed.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“No.”
“Can I do anything to help you?”
“I don’t know…”
Yoongi bites down on his sleeve, and think it’s going to stop here. The concern, the soft voice, Jungkook seeing him in this state. He hates it, hates being vulnerable, and even more in front of their youngest. Yoongi likes to take care of him, but everything becomes blue-back and terrifying when the contrary happens.
And Jungkook—Jungkook’s a sweetheart, Jungkook understands.
He’s gone for a while and Yoongi battles with his thoughts. But then he’s here, trailing a mini-car behind him full of blankets and pillows and blankets and—and pillows. It’s a rain of everything that is firm and soft at the same time, a small, other world that doesn’t go farther than the mountains of pillows obscuring everything from his view.
Jungkook crawls under it with him. And he’s here, close (so close), a comforting arm around Yoongi’s waist, and that’s it. He’s silent, supportive and silent; man of wool and all the things that makes Yoongi putty.
It’s heaven, then, Jungkook and pillows and silent heaven.
All of them—they know they’re no psychiatrist, no eternal remedies. But they also know they don’t have to be. They know Yoongi just needs a hand against his back while he fights off his demons.
They know, and Yoongi loves them for that—and thousand other reasons he won’t get caught speaking aloud.

Well, it’s been a day since the announcement of the Voltron movie, or more accurately, the director of Red Notice and Dodgeball showing off a sizzle reel and earning the blessing of Bob Koplar and World Events Productions while setting off a bidding war for the film. After the initial panic, there’s definitely a lot to unpack. And considering all the insanity I bore witness due to the last failed attempt at reviving the franchise (which make no mistake, was a massive failure), there’s a lot to go over.
1. The pitch was done with a sizzle reel and an original concept. Coupled with the separation from Dreamworks (Universal is bidding but seeing as they let the rights lapse I don’t think their bid is serious) it will likely be fully focused on the original series. That means no Blade of Mamora, No Cuban Lance, no girl Pidge, but probably means lots of robots punching other robots and a blonde space princess.
2. The director is a frequent collaborator with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson AKA The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment, the highest paid actor in Hollywood, yada yada. There is a more than zero chance The Rock is Commander Hawkins or some other authority figure because nothing gets eyeballs like The Rock.
Tumblr media
3. WEP desperately wants to have a Voltron movie do for it what Transformers did for Hasbro. Yeah, history wasn’t super kind to the Transformers franchise (although the first one was actually alright IMO) but they did make a ton of cash, revitalized the franchise into a massive moneymaker, and ensured toys flew off the shelves. A huge live-action film can erase the stink of an unsuccessful animated production very quickly, as the contentious Unicron Trilogy was all but an afterthought after Michael Bay’s ode to the explosion hit theaters.
4. Netflix isn’t interested. Probably because VLD flopped but also because between the Power Rangers movie they have the rights to and the Mobile Suit Gundam movie, a Voltron movie is probably redundant.
So with all that out of the way, and given that these films take years to get made, if they get made at all, I can safely say the final product will have nothing to do with Legendary Defender and will likely go out of its way to be the opposite of Legendary Defender.

Whirlwind Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Hey y’all! I am finally getting chapter two up. Sorry it has taken so long. I am v forgetful and lazy! I really hope you guys like this. I am really excited for this fic and just writing it makes me happy so i hope reading it makes you guys happy! enjoy!!
warnings: kinda angsty, warning, mentions of slutting around (im looking at you xiu) smut/mentions of smut
“I know, I know. I’m so sorry love, I really did want today to be an us day, but you and I both know this can’t be ignored baby,” You cooed apologetically to Suho. Your arms were around his waist and you were standing on your tiptoes to rest your chin on his shoulder. You nuzzled the side of his face with your nose.
“I know, I know… I just wish it wasn’t this way. I was really looking forward to a day with just the two of us. It has been so long since we have had one of those,” He sighed.
“I understand,” You said sighing as well, “I love you, Junmyeon.”
He smiled at the use of his real name and turned around pulling you into his warm, welcoming arms.
“I love you too, Y/N,” He kissed you, “So much.”
You smiled brightly at him and kissed him deeply.
“As much as I love a good kiss, since it's not me, we gotta go,” Baekhyun said. Suho glared at him and bared his teeth, something Baekhyun took as a sign to leave. You giggled and shook your head.
“Come on, Daddy, let's go,” you coaxed, smacking his ass as you walked out the door.
“One more,” he said pulling you back against him, spinning you around. He kissed you lovingly.
“Alright, alright. Now we go,” You said kissing his cheek and finally walking out. You got into the main living room of the house where all of the boys were now standing.
“Alright is everyone clear on what to do? Get in get out. Should be a pretty cut and dry “steal back our drugs” type of show,” you told them while placing a gun in it’s holster on your outer thigh, beneath the holster for throwing knives. To say you were armed and dangerous was an understatement. The boys were all armed in similar fashion, each carrying more than enough protection. A symphony of ‘yes’ filled your ears, followed by the sound of soles hitting wooden flooring as everyone quietly filed to the side door.
“It’s been ages since you’ve gone on a retaliation with us, Whirlwind,” Chen teased after matching your pace, “You’re so hidden sometimes, I forget that you’re even handy with that pistol. I’d be lying if I hadn’t lost faith for a while.”
For a moment, you smiled fondly to yourself at the familiar nickname. You let it linger for a bit, even as you stepped out into the brisk air of your large garage. With Baekhyun’s head blocking your view, you could still see the shiny rims of all ten sports cars and two vans.
“I can always blow your brains out as a reminder, if that’s really what you need,” you joked casually, “And if this is what you consider a retaliation, maybe I should be losing faith in you.”
He only rolled his eyes in a playful manner in response to the small jab.
The conversation was broken up by Sehun shouting that the back of the white van was open to whoever was sitting in the large space, and that he was driving this time. You laughed and got into the driver’s seat of the black Lamborgini. You drove off, the boys following closely behind.
Your mind began to drift as you drove to the mansion of Girl’s Generation, one of your biggest enemies in this world. You couldn’t find a speck of remorse in yourself, but the constant feuding grew so tiring after a while. Now, it felt as though you were only battling so you wouldn’t have the burden of admitting to a loss. Your team only ever made an effort to strike at them when it was warranted, such as right now.
They had apparently felt threatened enough by your drug business, they wanted to steal your product and sell it as their own. Luckily, you had contacts and ways of knowing things like these.
You parked your car a few blocks from the house and went to where the boys had parked their van. After crawling through the seemingly endless brush and trees that concealed the battered heap of metal, you got in and started to run over the plan with them one final time.
Baekhyun and Chanyeol were to monitor the security cameras, while Chen and Kai part ways to find where the drugs were being kept. Sehun and Kyungsoo agreed to eliminate any human threats on their way to their to-be-informed destination, and Xiumin was making sure the leaders were being kept busy, through other means of distraction. Earlier, you had made jokes of him being a prostitute for the time being, to which he only scowled.
Opposing teams or not, Kim Taeyeon and Jessica Jung had expressed quite the interest in the man, which he had offered to take advantage of, just this once.
“Of course,” he had said earlier, “I’d do it for the sake of the group, but leave it to me to be caught up fucking two dumb bitches while the real action plays out.”
You and Suho were the cleaners, the backup plan; the ones who---if something went wrong---entered and fixed the problem. You hadn’t been big on being so useless, but Kyungsoo and Xiumin had thought it best to keep the leaders away from harm in case something were to happen to them.
Directly after helping Chen and Kai to swipe all the heroin and cocaine, Kyungsoo and Sehun were to set the house ablaze; it was highly probable that something harmful may happen to anyone who fails to escape in time.
The house was surrounded by a large, electrified, black iron fence. From the comfort of the van, you watched as Xiumin simply walked up to it and pushed his finger down onto the intercom button. He spoke a greeting into the mic, followed by the fence pushing itself open.
Whereas everyone else wasn’t as welcome in the large mansion, you were forced to wait around ten minutes before approaching the fence. Within those ten minutes, Baekhyun and Chanyeol had worked together to disable the security cameras positioned atop it, making it far easier to break in.
Donning a pair of thick protective gloves and handling a pair of wire cutters, Chen easily disabled it and allowed everyone to hop over the structure.
With a swift hand motion, you coaxed Kyungsoo and Sehun to rid the team of the guards positioned in the lawn. While they crept behind massive statues and thick trees, the remainder of your group crouched in some bushes, hidden from the world.
After the signal was given that the guards were finished off, you all stealthily moved into the house. From the corners of your eyes, you could see the splattered blood of the two women who laid by the entrance. It was likely that they hadn’t felt a thing when the knife hit their throats; they had been knocked out prior.
Some of the men entered the building through side doors and some used windows. You and Suho moved cautiously moved into the living room, the area that would quickly give you access to all the others and their positions. With a bit of difficulty, you managed to close the door without any creaking sounds.
“Remember when you almost dated a Girls Gen girl?” You whispered to him quietly. Even in the darkness you saw him flinch in remembrance. You chuckled softly in response.
“Chen and Kai, it should be in a room on the third floor,” Baekhyun’s voice floated lowly through your earpiece, “Off to the left somewhere… maybe the fifth door along the hallway.”
“You and I can fuck right here, you know,” You suggested, disregarding the speech that didn’t involve either of you, “I think that’d surely make Yuri regret ever rejecting you.”
The most barely audible groan came, and you could just picture Suho biting his lip to keep from exposing your presence to the home’s residents.
“As hard as it is not to entertain your vengeful wishes, I'd rather not risk getting caught with my pants down and my cock out, Princess.”
“Found it,” came Kai’s preoccupied mumble in your ear. You heard clicking as they tried to open what sounded like a safe.
“The one time you find your self restraint...” You trailed off in a quiet, teasing tone.
“Okay,” Chanyeol interrupted through the earpiece, “Xiumin’s tracker is lighting up on the other side of the house, by the hedge statue things and back a few feet. It’s, uhhhh, moving rapidly right now, so you have until it comes to a stop to drop everything from the window. Baekhyun and I will handle everything else.”
“I’m sending Chen and Kai out as soon as possible, out through one of the side doors to help you out,” came Kyungsoo’s gruff reply, “Just let me know when Xiumin is safely out.”
For thirty quiet minutes that trickled past like grains of sand falling to the bottom of an hourglass, you sat with Suho and waited.
Nothing that was of concern to you popped up until three minutes after Xiumin had walked past you and out the front door. It had sounded like he was zipping up his jeans as he walked.
None of the women followed after him, as they were probably focused on washing themselves up.
After three minutes, you began to smell the thick clouds of smoke that had drifted down to the living room. For security, you did your best to spot Suho through the pitch darkness. The moment you’d gotten clarity that Kyungsoo and Sehun were out of the house, you two would be sprinting to safety.
“Discovered!” Chen yelled. You and Suho looked at each other and ran up the stairs to where they were.
You crouched at the entrance of the room where you could here the fight going on. Suho was crouched opposite of you, his gun loaded and cocked. You started counting backwards from three on your fingers. On one you both stood in the doorway and started shooting the men who were cornering two of your boys.
“I want everyone else to go back to the van right now,” You commanded into your earpiece.
“Yes ma’am,” They all said.
“Here’s our plan, take out whoever comes near and get back to the plan. No splitting up. Let’s go,” You said running out the door. Suddenly alarms started blaring throughout the whole house. You groaned and covered your ears.
“Someone triggered the security system,” you heard Baek say through the earpiece.
You started running through the house but metal doors were starting to slide into place. You cursed and lead the boys through more hallways being met with dead ends. You all finally found a doorway into a room with multiple windows, but the metal door was slowly sliding into place and the shouts of the Girl’s Gen men neared. You pushed Kai and Chen under and went to go push Suho.
“There’s only enough room left for one more person; you’re going,” He said pushing you. The shouting came nearer.
“No, Suho, I am not leav---” You were interrupted as he shoved you to the ground and under the door. The yells were on you and Suho. You screamed to tell Suho to dive under, but you knew there was no way he’d fit.
“I love you,” You heard him say as you watched the men surround him and tase him, bringing him to his knees in pain. You screamed out his name and fought against the door. Kai and Chen pulled you back from the door. Chen opened the window as Kai struggled to pick you up. You all escaped out the window and made it back to the van.
The atmosphere hung full-cloud heavy and pin-drop silent as everyone else present came to the shocking realization that Suho hadn’t made it out.
A deafening clatter broke the quiet into a million pieces within the three seconds it took your closed fist to come into contact with the vehicle’s cool metal and the sharp pain to set into your knuckles.
But you didn’t want to stop. As Sehun pushed his foot down onto the gas pedal and sped off, all you wanted to do was pulverize the van until your skin blossoms a blotchy plum color.
A cry left your lips. And another. And a third, until it was difficult to hear the shocked chatter that had begun to swarm around you.
“Baby,” Chanyeol started hesitantly. Your temper was like a hot iron---to be used with caution and to avoid direct contact with, “Junmyeon’s strong. He’ll hold his own.”
You didn’t feel like the iron. You felt like the burn. The use of Suho’s birth-given name was meant to sooth your visible pain, but all it did was turn the faucet to a steady stream of bitter tears.
“Oh, fuck off,” you dismissed him in a quiet mutter.
Truly, you wished you were more skilled in concealing such lethal feelings. Having seven---and occasionally eight, whenever Sehun worriedly glances through the rearview mirror---men watch you cry isn’t any fun. You think it makes you look weak, like a joke.
An arm wrapped around your shoulders. With your eyes squeezed shut so painfully tight, you could only guess which lover it was. You were too focused on dismissing the little outburst that you didn’t even attempt to. From the foresty cologne alone, you knew it was D.O. Everyone else wore less comforting fragrances; things that slightly assaulted your sense of smell.
He said nothing, but it didn’t feel as frightened as the silence everyone else gave. Everyone silent was breathing dreadfully slowly, cautiously even, like they were waiting for an explosion. D.O, however, kept his breathing at a calm, steady pace.
This was what you loved about him. He never participated in the nervous blocks of quiet, for he was already so peacefully. You both don’t need many words for your relationship to remain strong. He was a rock regardless of his infrequent speech.
“Try and go to sleep,” he murmured over the low whispers everyone else had faded into, “We’ll have planning to do later; you need to be rested enough.”
Though he only spoke of a meeting to plan things, you were certain it was about the best strategy to get Suho back.
You drifted off with that thought in mind, keeping close that single bit of comfort it provided.
