MHA fic plot bunny (eraserdust-ish??? but not really???)

remember when I said I didn't /think/ I'd put any mature content on this blog? hahaha. same vibes as me thinking I'd 'just' write 20k words of a story. I mean, does it count if they don't actually do anything smutty? just that the subject is mature and has sexual themes??? Anyway I'll put it below the cut just in case, advert your eyes if it's not your cuppa.

tw: sex pollen (but not in the way you think), dubcon (in the sense that this Would Not Be Happening At All if not for the sex pollen), sexual themes, fear of noncon (due to misunderstandings), kidnapping, no smut, no romance, no feelings, kind of fuck or die but not really, Tomura is asexual in this one.

got bitten on the ankle by a plot bunny. mature rated MHA fic, partly crack treated seriously, about Shigaraki getting hit with a sex pollen-esque quirk in an attempt to weaken the LOV, except it does take asexuality into account so instead of being overwhelmed by lust and falling apart he's just. so fucking annoyed. so miserable. so done. his cock is not allowed to take that tone with him. the only relief that works for him is physical contact. cuddling and touching. except he doesn't want to touch anyone because of his quirk. he doesn't want to risk dusting one of his party members and the list of people allowed in his personal space is very. sad.

this is after Kurogiri got yoinked and before they found gigantomachia (canon who?), which might help explain why there were only one brain cell left in the LOV. They want to help Tomura, of course. He's miserable and the quirk lasts as long as a common cold if it's left to its own devices. They're also broke as hell. They really wish Kurogiri was there. He would know what to do. As far as a sabotage plot goes, quirking up Shigaraki to weaken the league is unfortunately working, just not in the intented way. he's miserable and it's everyone's problem. the itching is worse than ever and there's only so many spare shirts they're willing to rip up for bandages. point is, they're getting desperate.

and never underestimate the desperation of idiots.

they turn from looking at villains to looking at heroes. obviously it has to be an adult. which removes a hilariously sad amount of people from the pool because most of their heroic beef has been with a class of teenagers.

hey, how about their teacher? the one who erases quirks? tomura is still in absolute misery and completely misses the Signs That Something Is Amiss when he gets asked for his opinion on Eraserhead (he's still cool, wish he was a recruitable party member, his quirk would be useful).

fortunately for them, there's a feral cat hanging around their latest hideout that the whole league has been feeding, like the most poorly-kept secret. the cat is plump and trusting. heroes do things like rescue innocent animals, right?

(the amount of heroes who would actually fall for this is a statistical error. Aizawa Shouta, who follows stray cats during his time off, is an anomaly and should not be counted)

cool. pro hero successfully captured. they have until he doesn't show up for his next class before the entire wrath of Yuuei and most of the underground heroics network comes down on their heads. Compress caught him in a marble. Cat was a paid actor and compensated with tuna. Cat is fatter and happier. unfortunately they have to. you know. let him out. It's a bit like trying to prepare and hype up the team to release a pissed-off lion.

cannot emphasise enough what a Terrible No Good Day this is for Aizawa. His evening plans consisted of changing into the comfiest pink sweatpants he has, finishing some grading, and falling asleep on top of the papers. This was not what he signed up for when he followed a weird little girl (disguised Toga) into an alleyway because he heard a cat and was told it needed rescuing. Now he's surrounded by the villains who attacked Class 1-A.

For the LOV, trying to explain themselves while trying to avoid getting their throats ripped out by a underground pro hero with a grudge is a WHOLE different kind of problem. they are. a lot more scared of him than he realizes. and that was before he pulled out the big knife!

In the League's defense, it never crossed their minds that getting into a four-way brawl with Eraser (Toga took a long hike with the cat) while explaining that they kidnapped him because Shigaraki's been hit with a sex pollen quirk and they ran out of options really wasn't A+ communication.

Shigaraki gets drawn to the fuss (read: they're being so fucking noisy while he's trying to sleep through the quirk) and it sure is a moment. misunderstanding cleared very fast, but Dabi is not getting those torn staples back, Twice is very grateful that his mask protected his eyes, and Spinner is Googling if mutant quirk-types can get rabies.

Eraser is suspicious as hell of the whole thing, but the ordeal sounds so stupid that he kind of believes it on principle. he's very glad that the cat is fine. the cat honestly wins more trust than any reassurance that he isn't under any obligation to stay, they just need help and couldn't think of any better way to make him hear them out than kidnapping him. still not allowed to know where he is, though, because it's a nice hideout. (Shigaraki has never come closer to dusting his own teammates.).

Because he's terrifyingly logical and efficient, Eraser is actually hearing them out + he's an absolute demon to bargain with. They get their human hot water bottle that doesn't mind being the recipient of a quirked-up Tomura's clinginess, he gets a free nap and valuable intel about the LOV's future plans and members. Probably nothing the police wouldn't have found eventually, but very neatly packaged instead of taking months to piece together. Sexual intimacy is off the table. He'll Erase Tomura's quirk if he feels threatened. The eye drops stay close by. Either of them can back out at any time. Eraser keeps his mouth shut for privacy's sake. They owe him a bottle of whiskey for the inconvenience and a fucking week of going radio silent on villain work. He wants regular updates on the cat. They keep their end of the bargain, he'll keep his.

Shigaraki would die from embarrassment if he didn't already feel like he was dying from touch starvation. Good thing Eraser is very warm and pliable (caterpillar man), and has seen far too much to be fazed by this. probably knows a thing or two about ways to alleviate the suffering caused by the quirk, like heaping on any pillows and blankets from around the hideout. It's still awkward, of course. Sleepover from hell for both of them basically. There's an inherent sort of trust you need for this that is. not fucking there. but Eraser is trustworthy. even when Tomura's body is reacting with arousal dialed up to eleven, much to his dismay. It's like a sick day. But kinky. Except communication and understanding skips the kinky. Probably the most healthy interaction he's had. (yikes).

ofccourse you can't be cuddling the enemy through a sex pollen buzz without some kind of angst! Tomura isn't going to lie around all day, and his new Erasure hero blanket is portable. You bet he's still being a restless, scratchy bastard, playing his video games, trying to pretend the league isn't hovering like flies. And sure, Eraser's job here is just to laze around for Shigaraki to cling onto, but his trauma??? adoptable??? senses are tingling. Tomura says the most fucked up little things, nestled in those long rants about enemy hitboxes and the plague of heroic society and That Ending Was Bullshit, Actually.

The LOV are running out of nails to bite. doesn't help that Eraser is observant as hell and clocking them whether they like it or not. Kidnapping a pro hero with the keenest fucking sight was A Mistake, Actually, but by now Tomura is satisfied with the arrangement and it's too late for regrets. Eraser's phone might ring, might be Mic because he had a weird feeling today was a prime day for his friend to get kidnapped by villains while looking for a cat under suspicious circumstances, or something. well. his gut wasn't wrong, but Eraser's got it handled, and he wins more trust tokens by rolling a nat 20 on deception, all good here, see you tomorrow, grab me a coffee.

I think in the end the real winner here is the cat. Nothing but a good time for that spoiled little bastard. If Eraser accidentally slightly tames the LOV like a pack of feral cats by proxy, that's entirely covered by their NDA. The quirk breaks by the next day. It's a struggle to get Eraser to leave, because he's having a very comfortable sleep for once + staying in the captivity of the LOV is marginally nicer than being the homeroom teacher of the hell class. Perils of opening your secret villain hideout to the prince of sleep.

1. How did they meet?

they met when the maximals gave up and shoved rampage off to prison on omicron so they wouldn’t have to think about him anymore. depth charge happened to be the peace marshal there. i wrote a fic about it! :D 

2. Big Spoon/Little Spoon?

RAMPAGE IS LITTLE SPOON…………. hes little spoon! he wants to be held!! also depth charge physically cannot ever be little spoon because of his whole manta ray wing situation. rampage also has a complicated thing going on wrt limbs/kibble but his extra bits don’t form a solid metal wall essentially.

3. Who initiated the Conjunx ritus, and who finished it?

holy shit would they ever do this…………… like it Could happen but it would have to be a long convoluted series of events to lead to them becoming actual conjunx. i can’t even look that far ahead to tell who would do what. who initiates?? i can’t even get them to talk to each other. 

4. Which one purrs more?

5. Who takes more engex, and how do they like it?

depth charge drinks. he probably drank socially when he had friends, and then after he captured rampage and went back to cybertron he drank a lot. just the hard stuff mostly. rampage i don’t think has ever had the opportunity to try engex unless he got ahold of some during The Great Chase. 

6. Who gets more paintjobs?

does rampage even need to? does his paint just regenerate? who would let him get one, even if he needed one? but i also don’t think it’s something depth charge does very often either. 

7. Who has a worst taste in color?

see this is so subjective but i’m gonna have to say rampage. depth charge’s color scheme is very pretty (mostly i’m thinking about his toy and the gradient paint on his wings….. i miss him) and i wouldn’t want to allow rampage to choose the palate for my house. 

8. During the war, are they in the same faction? If not, how does this affect their relationship?

i mean rampage was made by maximals……….. but no they fight. they would hav fought even without the predacon stuff happening. those guys love to fight. 

9. Do they sleep cuddled together, or side-by-side?

i would like to see depth charge try fall asleep next to rampage and not wake up with rampage practically on top of him. i dare him. just try it. it isn’t going to happen. 

10. What do they do after the war? (if they met during the war)

they’re fine!! they get therapy. i’m making it happen. 

11. Did anyone predict them getting together?

i’m sure rattrap made some jokes but i’m not sure anyone expected them to be able to have a real actual relationship.

12. What makes them a good pairing?

here’s the thing. i am self-aware enough to know that from the outside this ship looks like ‘oooh my wonderful murderboy’ etc etc which i hate and this isn’t that. yes rampage did some terrible things but also had terrible things done to him that he had zero control over. he doesn’t know how to be a normal person. he doesn’t know what well-adjusted is or what it looks like. all he knows is that he really likes spending time with depth charge. dc is his longest and most significant relationship. and dc desperately wants to kill him but rampage cannot die, so they could be doing this forever! and in rampage’s view, that’s great!

meanwhile depth charge is Also hurting and angry about a lot of things but the fact is rampage is Also now the most important/significant person in his life. and he’s been hanging onto that anger for a very long time but once he starts to zoom out and take a bigger picture view he would start to see things as they are. for one, that the maximals that created rampage are as much at fault for what happened as rampage himself is, and two that he doesn’t really know what he would do if he wasn’t spending all his time and energy tracking rampage down. [i wrote a fic about it ;)]

13. If they had (a) sparkling(s), what would they be like?

Oh Boy. oh boy. im so sad about transmutate. rampage would be a good dad. he’s self-aware enough to know that he had a shit life and he doesn’t want anyone else to have to suffer the way he did. but what would their baby be like…………………….. a little horseshoe crab. :3

14. Random headcanon(s)?

once it becomes clear they just are not going to kill each other depth charge eventually puts his foot down and says ‘no fighting. no more injuries.’ and rampage is like ‘:(’ because he doesn’t really know how else to interact with people. which is when the hugs start coming into play. turns out getting squeezed really tight feels even better than getting punched!

anyway ryouji somehow ascended to Person of the Year in genta’s books and I’m sure the people don’t want to eat death due to the length of this sucker so I’ll put this one under a cut

anyway chorosonic hell is extensive, incredibly self indulgent and probably is best started at the beginning, which was. pre-pregame somehow. 

before the Incident that landed everybody here with no memories of their time at hope’s peak, genta and ryouji had started dating after ryouji no homo’d him and genta roasted him for unironic use of ‘no homo’ for several months in an event that cumulated when genta realized that the fact that he’d gotten so invested in poking ryouji for not saying no homo when he did something that could potentially be described as Home of Sexual was.. probably a bit telling. this further cumulated when they fell asleep on the train and ended up in some nowhere town near midnight. here they befriended a stray dog, got a shady motel room they blocked off all of the entrances to like idiots because they thought someone was going to break in, and kissed for like 0.4 seconds in an event that was secondhand embarrassing for everyone

anyway so then everyone died and they forgot each other in the revival into the simulator, but they were in separated so that didn’t really matter anyway. however, when the grapevine got around that someone named ryouji nomiya was killed, genta just kind of. felt an Actual Emotion at this and a sense of dread hit the pits of his gut which kind of made him go ??? what the fuck??? what the fu– 

he eventually just chalked up this Feeling to the fact that it likely played a part in spreading fear that lead to the Mutual Killings on both sides. gent kind of pushed the Vine Mysteries to the backburner for a while because there were Actual Pressing Issues ™ to attend to, like everybody dying.

anyway, skip ahead to genta dying, wherein local man crawls into the hotel with his broken ass body and dies in front of his dear friend. This caused him to wake up from the simulator with a fear that if he started speaking again, blood would begin pouring from his mouth the way it did when he tried to tell Yuka what happened… which kept him from opening his mouth at all. This, combined with his earrings missing (which… he essentially used to track if his body is HIS, or if he was copied again back when his bros were cloning him excessively) basically caused him to try and repress everything in favor of trying to find out who was in charge to demand answers. He then tried to kick open a sliding door and fell on his face.

Ryouji was the first one to find him like this, in the midst of his own state of trauma after an Incident following merge. Genta had ended up dropping his ID in the pod, and thus, for a little while, they sort of communicated through charades which caused ryouji to think genta was trying to come onto him and, eventually, Genta borrowing Ryouji’s ID and typing at him while they looked for Genta’s. They kind of struck up a weird friendship while mutually denying their own trauma somewhere in between a series of bullshit conversations wherein Ryouji suspected Genta of being the Mastermind due to his greek symbol name, and Genta finding Ryouji to be kind of a close minded guy because of his belief in the hedgehog’s dilemma, and the breaking of tension via a video sent to everyone on their keycards wherein chou ate a piece of wax fruit. 

Eventually after the initial suspicion of Genta is MM wore off, they started going at conspiracy theories on who it COULD be, and they mutually sussed chourara since they wouldn’t let anyone into the computer room, where important information was probably kept. This resulted in a weird thread wherein ryouji got accused of being bisexual by chourara after he sent a picture of a Cursed Ice Sculpture to genta, and got a concussion, chou opened up a wound in her leg, and bled everywhere, and sarara was… on the floor. This ordeal was shocking enough that Genta regained his ability to speak while he had a good old fashioned panic trying to fuss over both Chou and Ryouji while Adachi (who he was with at the time of being contacted) was Very Tired Indeed. Gent kind of helped him back to bed after that and they talked for a bit while they tried to assess ryouj was going to Die from that experience and grew closer.

somewhere in there ryouji made him an omelet and genta got fuckign hype because he’s a shitty cook and hadn’t had hot food in at least a week and in exchange genta gave him a haircut but fucked up but ryouji was cool with it because his hair is a fucking mess anyway 

Anyway, after that, the case 6 motive happened and Ryouji got carted off to the sim again, so Genta took this as Confirmation of the Conspiracy, had a weenie ass confrontation with Sarara wherein they just pushed each other and hurled insults and Sarara roasted him so bad he doubted his own humanity and started crying. Chou came in and took pity, let him Access the Computers and confirmed to him the identity of both masterminds. Anyway he kind of attributed that one to Ryouji but Ryouji was no longer there so he just ended up making excuses to pass by the parl sim room to check if he’d woken up yet. He kind of realized he missed talking to him there, since the only other person at the time he’d really struck up a friendship with was Adachi, and Adachi didn’t have the patience to spend CONSTANT time with him. it was approximately this point he realized he was attracted to ryouji in some convoluted way

Weeks passed, he reconciled his opinion on Akio and realized that in spite of him doing a Killing, Akio was a Good Guy who Cared. This isn’t Ryouji related but Akio and Adachi did indirectly keep him from going off on Ryouji after dat boi did a Killing on Tomoka. After that Genta kind of assessed his worldview so that rather than cracking down on people for acting out in a situation where they felt helpless to do anything else, to try and judge intention instead - a person can make mistakes and mean well. Well, that, and Ryouji was kind of traumatized after all that so he didn’t really have the heart to treat him coldly anyway after he got his ass kicked live in trial and died like 200 times

unfortunately ryouji was kind of freaked out by him anyway since, due to their History, one of ryouji’s deaths was him being fuckign slain by genta via knife so he started avoiding him after that. Somehow they had an encounter in the worst possible place, the kitchen, where there are knives. the whole Trauma thing caused ryouji to crack a little and they left the kitchen to try and distract ryouji a little from it.  it came out that they were both sort of passionate about films in different ways (genta with star wars, ryouji w/ film in general) and they were like !! about that and it was ALMOST casual but genta misstepped and caused ryouji to panic again

which…somehow ended with them vaguely discussing trauma Feelings ™ and leaned up against each other in silence

ryouji started living with genta in the deadblog library after that, at which point they started cuddling a lot more often y’know, because that’s what bros do and also the physical contact kind of helped ground ryouji and comforted the side of genta that needed a hug and made them both feel like Not Everybody Hated Them. after that Revisiting Trauma and Feelings ™ occurred slightly more in between like 3252356346 bullshit threads from then until endgame. 

eventually they found ryouji’s scrapbook and discovered they used to date but it didn’t fuss them all that much because somewhere in the midst of that hell they started half-dating again anyway. genta’s still not 100% certain if what ryouji feels for him isn’t just based on trauma or if he’s just using him or not, but for now, anything is fine really. even if he was just using him, him just being is enough for now

…phew ok that was a lot if anyone who isn’t azura is still alive i’ll be shocked

anyway, tl;dr, ryouji is incredibly precious to genta and although he probably wouldn’t say he’s in love with him quite yet, ryouji was probably the first person he feels actually listens to him. While yuka either wouldn’t take him seriously or was too compromised to discuss anything serious, and while adachi would hear and accept what he’d say but most of the time wouldn’t actually… listen… ryouji listened, accepted it all for what it was, and went on to try to be open minded about everything. Also, he makes him laugh, is passionate about what he enjoys and is taller than him, which are also important traits when you’re romancing genta apparently 

anyway this is getting ridiculous so we’ll cut this off here thanks for reading
