#is laurent NOT gone girl-ing damen for the first 2 books of the series?#and arguably also after the reveal for a bit in book 3?#i just know modern au laurent reads gone girl in one day and damen comes home to him like furiously highlighting passages#the more damen learns about this book the more he's like uhhhh i'm in danger#after several days of being anxious he just asks laurent#if he would ever fake his own death and frame him for his murder if he was mad at him#and laurent just kisses him on the cheek#and says that no one would suspect damen of laurent's murder even if he tried to frame him#because everyone knows damen would never hurt laurent#and more importantly#they know that laurent is too clever to get murdered by anyone other than himself#and then he just goes to the other room to fold some laundry or something#which.... is very amy dunne of him.#capri#captive prince#laurent of vere#prince's gambit#kings rising
