some scug designs i did. i love these sillies. i love rain world. such a silly game. design notes (and slight spoilers?) below. might revise all these designs later

monk: design is meant to be soft to show that they're pretty peaceful compared to most of the others. they have a small circle on their head as a reference to the monk passage

survivor: a little sharper than monk with the fur. their markings are a light brown as a sort of nod to them and monk being siblings. they have the survivor passage symbol on their snout inbetween their eyes

hunter: sharp design with bandages around tail and front legs and spots pretty much everywhere because idk they look neat. first part of hunter passage on snout, second on back as a rib sort of marking, green + purple bandana and strap made by NSH. bandana was given after campaign. i like to think hunter didn't ascend but instead it cleared most of the rot, allowing hunter to live and return to NSH

nightcat: literally sparklecat galore i don't have any reasoning other than it looks cool and Stars. very round though to look friendly

artificer: sharp fur edges, bandages around arms like hunter. they r lesbians ur honour. glowing bulbs on tail and around the antennae serve as a catalyst for their explosions. their antennae were made by 5p as a way to communicate with eachother. lotsa scars, pretty fire colors just because. the two crystals in her amulet are carved colored pearls she found and wears as a memory of her pups.

rivulet: ourple. big ears idk why it just looked cool. semi-transparent fins and gills for better movement in water. speckle-y cape marking because i love cape markings and rivulet is my favorite

spearmaster: a lil bright purple/pink that goes into a sort of inbetween dark magenta. big fluffy mane 10/10 very huggable. many whiskers for many reasons, kept the pearl post-campaign and gave it to suns to show that moon sent it on its way back to send her last broadcast. small red sun marking on head that matches suns'

gourmand: he is very round he is very friendly. spots just because. no reason really

saint: big fluff to stay warm. yellowish green because a more blue-green would look less warm and friendly, mane is a bit spiky due to getting out of scuffles alot to avoid harming another.

I bring another offering! I had been thinking lately about something about Rays, some little things i've noticed - in the fics it's been hinted a couple of times that Rays is surprisingly strong despite his appearence, once when he caught Eclipse from falling and the second when he pulled Eclipse and Veil up to save them from Bloodmoon, and then held them off without immedietely getting mauled to death. This combined also with your reference sheet of him saying 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'

This has made me assume that lord bastardo had Rays fighting some pretty nasty creatures at some point over his long lifetime for his own amusement. So despite how skittish he is, Rays does know a thing or two about fighting/self defence (though the self-defence part is questionable, he's more like a shield specifically for others)

And so with that all in mind - i wrote this experimental shot super quick! :D

If Eclipse had a nickle for every time something horrifically dangerous came out of the portal…

Well if they were counting only his own experience he'd have just the one. But then with the amount of weird shit that came out of that accursed ballpit on a weekly basis Eclipse might as well be a millionaire.

But that was beside the point.

Because right now he was facing off with quite possibly the scariest thing Eclipse had ever had the displeasure of meeting. And that was saying something given his past ventures into worlds where he's had to meet the very worst of what he could have become.

But a giant insect the size of a large horse that looked like some amalgamation of a spider and a wood louse with mandibles to match was certainly up there.

And right now the thing had its eyes - all 12 of them from what Eclipse could count - on him.

Wonderful.

Moon was currently at the computer trying to activate the security protocals but something was clearly wrong because it was refusing to co-operate. The most he had managed was to re-open the portal so they could at the very least try and lure the nightmarish bug thing back into it.

But they'd needed something or someone to act as the bait and that is where Eclipse came in, and already he was regretting every life choice he had ever made.

But well- he did hold the power of the universe at his hands afterall. The star thrummed in his chest, reminding him of what he could be capable of. And so, steeling himself Eclipse raised his hand toward the creature and began to focus.

But as the light began to glow from his palm, the bug started to scuttle toward him at an alarming speed and Eclipse lost every single nerve he had.

Oh fuck that.

He bolted.

The bug was fast however, and Eclipse had barely managed to quickly dodge to the side before it barrelled past him and into one of the play structures leaving an alarmingly large dent in the side of the bars.

But it gave him no chance to gather his nerves or his thoughts as it twisted around horrifically, it's shell cracking like the sounds of a hundred bones and charged Eclipse again. This time as he tried to run, one of his legs gave out and he found himself crashing to the floor.

Of all the times for this to happen-

Panic flared within him, burning hot making him disorientated. Eclipse scrambled but ended up hitting a wall, trapping him. The creature was almost right on top of him and Eclipse had no chance to react or to even think-

A flash of yellow filled his view and for a moment Eclipse thought it was Sun. But battered rays said otherwise, and the scarred orange and black animatronic came to the horrifying realisation that Rays had jumped inbetween him and the bug.

He struggled to stand, claws digging into the wall as he yelled 'Rays don't!'

But it was too late and the giant insect charged into Rays and Eclipse would later deny the painfully anguished no that left him. However Rays did not end up mauled to death or crushed between those horrific mandibles as Eclipse had expected.

Instead somehow this frail looking and very skittish animatronic had actually grabbed the insect by those said mandibles, one in each hand like someone grabbing the horns of a wild bull and was somehow keeping it at bay as the creature thrashed and bucked under his surprisingly strong grip, screeching horrifically and at a pitch that made Eclipse cringe in pain.

But Rays appeared to be unaffected and Eclipse could only watch as the scarred yellow animatronic braced his feet against the ground before heaving, his vents and hydrolics releasing a loud sharp hiss as he turned the creature over onto it's side and with a sharp kick flipped it fully onto its back.

Now incapacitated, the insects nightmarish legs skittering helplessly in the air and it's pillbug like body arching and swaying in a mad attempt to make itself upright. But thank to whatever deity was watching right now, it seemed to be incapable.

Rays turned to Eclipse who stared back. Rays' eyes were blown wide open but his pupils were fully shrunk into pinpricks. Honestly the second scariest looking thing Eclipse had seen today. The yellow animatronic wordlessly pointed toward the portal which quite conveniently turned out to be right behind Eclipse as he soon realised as his bearings came back to him a bit.

Right right portal, plan, get the scary ass bug out of here. Then he could focus more fully on the other scary ass but admittedly very impressive thing Rays just did because what the actual hell was that how and where did that even come from.

Eclipse shook his head and pulled himself to his feet. His legs were still shaky but he steeled himself, as he had to finish this before the nightmarish creature could right itself. Setting his face in stone, Eclipse took the few brisk steps toward Rays and the insect and after a brief moment of hesitation, the nerves briefly flaring up at the sight of the thing he reached out and grabbed one of the legs.

Eclipse began to drag it over the rest of the way to the ballpit, and the insect screeched and chittered loudly, the noise ringing painfully in his audio receptors. But he ignored it, instead noting distantly just how heavy this thing was. Eclipse knew Rays was strong, but the fact he had managed to grapple and flip this thing was honest to God impressive and terrifying.

With a mighty heave, Eclipse twisted and partially swung the angry insect into the ballpit where the portal flashed to life and then the creature was finally no more. He turned back toward Rays with the question of 'ok what actual the hell was that?!' fresh on his tongue only to find Rays was crumpled on the ground.

And he was not moving.

Today held a new record for ‘the amount of times Eclipse has panicked over the course of a single day.’ First the bug, now Rays laying on the ground like a pancake after having just saved Eclipse’s ass from being squished by said gigantic insect. It was not a happy day, no sir.

Pride be damned, he slides down next to Rays, shouting his name as everyone else begins to either dive off of the balcony (Blood Moon), or scramble towards the theater door to take the safer way down.

It’s a sickening feeling, the world fading from awareness as Eclipse begs Rays to be alright, shaking his shoulder in the most gentle, yet desperate way he possibly can.

If I had just stood my ground and used The Star as planned- dammit. DAMMIT!

Do not cry. Do not cry. Do not cry.

“Rays, I swear- I’ll- I’ll-“ The threat dies in his throat, silenced by the emotions that strangle him into submission. Blood Moon bounds over on all fours, circling Eclipse and Rays like a hawk hunting for its next meal. They stop dead in their tracks when they see the look on their father’s face.

“Just…resting? Just tired. Break time.” They murmur, leaning closer to get a better look at Rays. Eclipse nudges them back.

“Don’t be too sure.”

Heroics. So stupid. I wouldn’t have been missed.

Eclipse of tightens his grip on Rays’ shoulder, painfully so if he had been awake.

I had The Star, you idiot. Why? Why’d you step in like that?

Eclipse looks down to the floor at that thought, his own rays clicking, then retracting behind his faceplate. His grip loosens once again. He knows why. Knows why Rays took the hit, took the heat in Eclipse’s moment of weakness.

Because he was trained too.

“Dad?”

Eclipse looks up and over to Blood Moon, eyeing them tiredly.

“…you’re crying.”

Falling in love with Xyx was fast, a quick ascent and even faster drop. Days like these, where you can admire him for long periods of time are few and far inbetween, but time seems to trickle to a stop, to let you indulge in his presence a little during times like these.

The sun is high in the sky, shining directly on him like a spotlight. Illuminating his every feature for your eyes, as if the galaxy itself sees his beauty, and cannot help but focus on it as well. His tanned hand interlocked with yours, eyes occasionally shifting over to you, little smile never leaving his lips.

“Have I ever mentioned how beautiful you are?” you begin, “If I haven’t it would be a shame, for your beauty transcends even farther than the mortal eye can view.”

You can see his reaction before he even says anything, how he straightens up, gripping the steering wheel a little too tightly.

“What?”

He knows he took too long to respond, and he knows you know, if the way he’s avoiding looking at you says anything.

You push on regardless, “With the sun shining on you, you look profoundly beautiful right now.”

A smile plays on your lips, as you see his ears flush.

“Doll you cannot be doing this right now. Do you know what you do to me? Ohh, you are playing  a dangerous game.”

“Is it so wrong? For me to want to compliment the love of my life?”

When he gets a chance to look at you, he wonders what he’s done in his past life to be so blessed. The way you look at him is nothing short of unadulterated adoration, like he’s the only man in the world. It can’t possibly be good for his heart, just how much you love him. How you make his heart constrict, how you make him tear up with words alone.

Time with you is sacred, and leaving your arms has become a monumental task as of late. It’s worth it, if he could come back to you forever, assured of your presence in his life through the little things.

“You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love...I love you.” he begins, thinking of the novel, and how you can never get enough of it.

“I never wish to be parted from you from this day on, “ you finish, a smile playing on your lips, words whispered into the air. Words that sound so loud, that they ring in his ear long after you finish.

He doesn’t think he can get enough of you, your touch, your words, your love. From where your hands interlock, he spares a moment to lean over and press a gentle kiss to the back of your hand, eyes lingering on yours for a touch afterwards.

He knows he can’t get enough of you. Since the day you saw his face, a vulnerable moment in time. From that fateful meeting onward, he could not imagine a life without you by his side.

Sometimes, he wonders what you’re thinking when you look at him like that. Like he’s your entire universe, like he hung the moon and the stars in your name.

Head Canons: Holiday Edition

Currently taking a break from wrapping xmas gifts for family and had these thoughts in my brain so now they can be your thoughts too :)

-Starts decorating the day after Thanksgiving, ropes in anyone who’s nearby

-Loves every gift he receives :) (but he might like the handmade ones a TINY bit more)

-Very careful unwrapping presents bc he doesn’t want to ruin your hard work! 

-Christmas Movies? YES!! Hot Chocolate? YES! 

-Favorite Christmas movie has to be The Polar Express (But I think that the original Grinch is a close second) 

-Ugly sweaters all day long. They get progressively more complex each year. Eventually he’s just going to be wearing the whole damn tree

-Hangs a mistletoe in the place where he is sure it will earn him the most smooches, pretends its a coincidence

-Asks kids if they’ve been good this year, if they say yes he gives them candy :’) 

-Would 1000% become one of Santa’s elves if the chance ever came up

-Knows Santa isn’t REALLY real, but loves playing along because he finds it so wholesome. 

-Snow angels! Snow people! Snow sculpting! :D 

Moon:

-He groans if he hears Christmas music before December 1st

-Enjoys decorating but thinks that Sun overdoes it

-Favorite part of decorating is lifting up his fave so they can put the star on top of the tree <3 

-Started thinking about gifts in July because Sun did but then totally forgot until November and is now scrambling to finish getting things together :’) 

-Likes the Christmas lights but also hates that it is so much BRIGHTER on the streets at night >:( 

-Prefers giving gifts over receiving for sure 

-All I Want For Christmas comes on. The eye twitch begins. 

-Doesn’t mind other Christmas music usually

-Absolutely shreds the wrapping on gifts like a feral cat :) 

-Has one ugly sweater that Sun gave him. Will not replace it no matter what. 

-Hoards all the gift bags to reuse next year (reduce, reuse, recycle)

-Cold out? You mean extra snuggle season? :) 

-Is the maker of the Hot Chocolate :) 

-Asks kids if they’ve been good this year, gives them candy if they say yes :) 

-Helps Sun pick the mistletoe spot. Finds excuses to lure you over there. 

-Told a kid Santa wasn’t real at least once, is sorry 

-Favorite Christmas movie is The Santa Claus. He would 100% try to kill Santa so he could take his place if it were truly possible. :) 

-Sneaks down on Christmas eve to put the gifts under the tree 

-After Christmas Sales? You mean time to buy Sun his next ugly sweater? 

-Would probably go caroling if invited

-Sledding! Snow ball fights! He’s so playful 

Eclipse:

-Hates the crowds

-Christmas music? You mean the same three lines over and over? Pass. 

-Tells kids Santa isn’t real. Tells parents they are setting their kids up for disappointment when they get mad. 

-Christmas Movies? You mean the same three regurgitated plots over and over? Pass. 

-Pretends decorating is a chore but actually likes it

-Moves the mistletoe around when Sun and Moon aren’t home so they can’t get smooches (evil) 

-Owns one ugly sweater. Only wears it for ‘family pictures’ and then immediately puts it back in the very back of the closet 

-Likes baking little treats to celebrate

-Buys gifts sporadically starting in August. 

-Prefers receiving gifts, always overthinks what kind of gifts to give

-Opens gift like it owes him money or like it might explode, no inbetween.

-Actually loves the good cheer but hates how crowded places get 

-Keeps mistletoe on him so he can have smooches whenever he wants :) 

-Keeps all the handmade things he receives in a safe place and never uses them because he doesn’t want them to get ruined 

-Not afraid to say he dislikes a gift, but usually just offers it back so it can be returned

-Mails out so many Christmas cards. To who? We may never know. 

-Once filled Sun’s stocking with coal as a joke. 

-Argues with Moon over who gets to lift the fave (tm) to put the star up on the tree

-Snow ball fights! Ice skating! Snow people! :) 

-Loves wrapping gifts <3

-Daydreams about Christmas dates but never plans them 

-Asks kids if they been good this year, if they say yes he tells them Santa will spare them... for now :)

P.P.P.S To be honest, I'm not one to draw comics past doodling them, I'm more so a writer than a comic artist but I'm working on that. For the time being though I'm working on a written version of everything :3>

Tittle: Falling Into the Eclipse

“Through incarnations, some beings do go down. That is to say, they forget. The soul falls into an eclipse of itself and there is a downward progression for a time”

The entity couldn’t remember what their name used to be anymore. They spent hundreds of thousands of years here, in this dimension, where there are no celestial bodies to keep count of the time’s passage. It could have been millennials, or simply just seconds, they did not know anymore.

In this world, there are no moons nor stars to brighten up the night sky, no sun to signal the start of a brand new day, just green, green skies filled with miasmas that swirled and rolled like the turbulent seas.

The Infinite Realms were nothing like the fading scenes of their dimension that they still sometimes dreamed about. There was no ground to crunch under their feet, no clouds to dance around on the whims of the winds, just floating islands and a deep void of emeralds, its depths never to be seen.

Everything was tinted in a verdant hue, the air, the breeze, the people, their blood, and even their breath.

They drifted in the inbetween, just roaming around waiting for the eclipse. Like a wanderer with no destination floating across the innumerable haunts.

Once, he used to be like the child that desired to eat the sun. Flying so close that it burned them  but still kept going, keeping close, just to feel its warmth. The star seemed benevolent, teaching the boy everything it knew, but on its own accord, it was cruel.

Distracted by all the new knowledge, the boy did not notice himself slowly drifting away from reality, how the radiation scorched his skin, reaching towards his soul.

Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice.

This boy’s world…

Ended in oblivion.

It's been a minute with the Fall For You guys! Would you wanna give me the run down on Andy, Kokabiel and Nuriel? What's their relationships like with each other! And how much do they interact?

Course! Andy (actual name Ananiel), Kokabiel and Nuriel are the first three beings ever made. Essentially in the Fall For You universe, Angels were made before humans by the sun and the moon as a way to sorta, experiment with making a species without the possibility of them fucking up (ie why Angels come out full grown and how they can't die nor do they age). Kokabiel was the first angel made, made as a sort of inbetween for the dieties and the rest of the angels. Kokabiel represents the night sky in general and no specific star. Second one was Andy many years later under another eclipse, Andy was the first star in the sky and represents The North Star/Polaris. Third was Nuriel, representing Sirius.

At the start of the universe the three were very close! Since the gap between new angels was pretty long, they only had each other as company, Nuriel and Andy got along great and so did Kokabiel. They were just three friends. There weren't many responsibilities for them each to do.

Jumpstart to modern day where the sky has as many stars as ours do now and their dynamic has changed. Kokabiel, Andy, and Nuriel are all seen as pillars in the Angel community and leaders in their own ways. Kokabiel has a lot of work maintaining everything as the night sky, and Nuriel has a lot of work picking up after Andy. Andy doesn't do any work, mostly slacking off and sleeping around. Andy and Kokabiel still get along great! Kokabiel's harboring a world ending crush on Andy and has since they first met, but won't confess bc they want Andy to love them romantically.

On the other hand, Any closeness Nuriel had to the other two is almost gone. She hates that Andy gets away with doing nothing and she hates that Kokabiel will just LET andy get away with anything. And she hates that Kokabiel will get on HER ass when Andy doesn't do his fucking work. She feels like it's all really unfair but it's how its been for a millennia. So why try to stop that at all. The three's dynamic and interactions is a very large part of the story!

it is very interesting that while Collector gets DESCRIBED as a child of the stars, all his imagery points to, the moon? like his glyphs and everything are moon phases, eclipses, his crescent face, hes a child of the shadows , what forms once light obscures or reflects on them, which really i think it says a lot about his character and the relationship to the Titans, if the titans represent the sun, light, life and so on, Collector is more like, the inbetween, they cannot really exist without light existing, the moon cannot engulf the sun even if the play of shadows makes it look like such .
