1329 – Day 1 – Chevalier Home

The newest member of the Chevalier household is born exactly a month after Elton Branson. The birth is surprisingly easy as well, because the child is rather small.

But it is a boy, and he lives.

At first, neither Elisaria nor Robert dare to truly allow hope into their hearts. Elijah, their second son, survived birth as well, only to pass away a few days later. It was their first boy, Roman, that didn’t survive birth at all. But Elijah died due to the frigid weather they had to brave on their way home. Now, it is high summer, and both Elisaria and their boy are at home.

Whatever the reason, little Landon fares better than his older brothers. He may be small, but the midwife they summoned from Praaven assures them that he is in good health and has just as good a chance at survival as any other infant.

Which is faint comfort, truth be told. So many infants and toddlers die for little to no reason, to illness or accident or another cause altogether. But the Chevaliers understand that there is no better assurance the woman can give. No one can tell the future, after all.

Elisaria still speaks a daily prayer to the Watcher to watch over him and his older sisters. The girls are her joy and her comfort, but Landon is the heir she has finally given her husband. There is not much to inherit yet, it is true, but they still wish for their family name to last.

When she isn’t praying, she spends her time nursing or tending to her son or playing with her daughters. The best evenings are those where Robert joins her in the children’s room, when he isn’t in Praaven or away on other duties.

The girls’ room isn’t especially ornate, like the nursery at Praaven Castle is. They have no land to pay for it, and although Robert does participate in tourneys and the like whenever he gets the opportunity, they receive most of their financial support from the earl. It allows them a relatively comfortable life, but hardly a spendthrift one.

Still, the children have toys to play with, and Elisaria loves sitting on the padded seat in the corner to watch over them while she works on her sewing. Robert finds her there one evening two weeks or so after Landon’s birth. He wastes no time in settling down next to her while the girls are still too engrossed with what they are doing to assail him with demands that he join them.

“I think we should start thinking about the girls’ education soon”, Elisaria comments, as she watches her elder daughter play on a wooden rocking horse. “Marguerite’s, at least. She will be six next year.”

“What sort of education do you envision, my wife?”

She raises an articulate brow. “Etiquette, for a start. Deeper spiritual guidance. Reading and writing too, and mathematics. If she is to marry well, she will require the ability to manage a household. Music, dancing, maybe painting. There is so much for her to learn, we can’t start early enough, truth be told.”

“We could ask Lord Petersmarch. Surely, all of that are skills that Lady Maud is learning as well. I do know she has tutors.”

“That is true. Although Lady Maud is several years older than our Marguerite, so I doubt they could share lessons.”

That only makes her husband shrug. “He who never enquires is doomed to remain ignorant.”

“Yet he who overreaches towards his betters is bound to be taught a lesson. Although I do hope His Lordship wouldn’t think you presumptuous for wishing to save a few simoleons”, she responds mildly. Her parents have kept her informed that there are still those who think Robert grasping; a bastard has no business being the favourite of a Lord of the Realm, brother or not. His very sinful nature forbids it. She doubts the earl minds, however.

Robert, too, smiles faintly. “He is always talking about how he wishes for our children to be brought up together, so I highly doubt he will think so.”

“It’s a good thing for our children. It will give them connections and recommendations they wouldn’t have otherwise.”

“Which is just as well, given the grand plans I’m sure you have for them.”

“No grander plans than that I wish to see them well-settled, with men they respect and love. I want them to be as happy as we are.” She smiles at him but can’t help the sadness that creeps into her heart. She quickly averts her gaze. “I know that the last few years haven’t been easy, with my distance and my failure to give you an heir…”

“You have given me three sons”, he says gently, taking her hand in his. “It is not your fault that our first two boys didn’t survive.”

“There are people that would think quite differently.”

“And those people’s thoughts matter not a whit to me. You have given me two healthy girls, and you are still alive. That is what is important to me.”

It is not very proper, but she feels her eyes fill with tears at that. Part of it may be the emotions she has held back, but she also can’t help but feel grateful for this understanding, kind-hearted husband of hers. The last few years may have been difficult, but she doesn’t think she could have married a better man to brave them with.

Josie beschloss einige Tage, nachdem sie mit Victor sprach, auch ihre Mutter aufzuklären. Doch Grace fand die ganze Situation erstmal sehr schockierend. Nicht nur dass Josie so jung schwanger wurde, sondern auch das Josie ihr keinen Namen nennen konnte, wer der Vater war. Bis schließlich Josie die Tränen kamen. Grace wurde schwach und erinnerte sich an ihrem Schock als sie mit Josie so plötzlich schwanger wurde. Sie war froh, dass ihre Mutter sie damals unterstütze. Also nahm sie kurzerhand Josie in den Arm und teilte ihr mit, dass sie für sie da sein wird.

Sie versöhnten sich. Doch Grace wollte dennoch wissen, wer der Vater von dem Kind ist, ließ das Thema aber für den Augenblick ruhen. Als der Streit zur Seite geschoben wurde, begrüßte Grace erstmal das Baby und das war das erste mal, als jemand Josies Bauch streichelte. Sie war erleichtert, dass dieses Kind nun kein Geheimnis mehr war. Insgeheim wusste aber Josie, wenn es bald in der Schule die Runde macht, wussten es ihre Freunde, die sich vielleicht abwenden, ihre Feinde, die sich dr��ber lustig machen könnten, aber auch .. der Vater wird es erfahren.

Josie beschloss ihr Leben zu ändern. Sie wollte eine gute Mutter sein, dennoch auch einen guten Abschluss machen. Sie ging für den Neuanfang zum Friseur und bekam die Möglichkeit von ihren Eltern sich ein eigenes kleines Haus zu leisten. Yannik, der Vater von Jolette telefonierte mit Grace und verriet ihr, dass in seiner Gegend in Brindleton Bay, ein kleines Haus frei wurde. Grace und Victor legten daraufhin ihr erspartes zusammen um Josie dieses Haus zu kaufen. Sie hatten zu wenig Platz in ihrem Haus, für ein weiteres Kind und Josie wünschte sich sowieso ein eigenes Heim. Da Josie aber immer noch Minderjährig war, bekamen ihre Eltern auch einen Schlüssel. Zudem legten sie fest, dass Viktor und Grace auf das Kind aufpassen werden, wenn das Baby zur Welt kam. Damit Josie die Schule beenden konnte. Josie wohnte aber mit dem Kind normal in ihrem neuen Haus.

Natürlich machte Josies Schwangerschaft die Runde in der Schule, doch es war nicht ganz so schlimm wie erwartet. Doch kurz danach bekam sie die Möglichkeit, die Schwangerschaft über von Zuhause aus zu lernen und die Chance nutzte sie auch. Zur Einweihung ihres Hauses kamen Freunde und Familie zu ihr und gratulierten ihr.

Paar Tage später erhielt sie eine Nachricht von Geoffrey, ihr Lehrer und der Vater ihres Kindes. Er wollte sie sehen und sie lud ihn zu sich nach Hause ein. Jetzt wo sie alleine wohnte, war es möglich. Er hatte es von Schülern gehört, dass Josie schwanger war und ging das Thema vorsichtig an. Josie bestätigte die Aussagen ihrer Mitschüler und verkündete ihm auch, dass er der Vater war. Für Josie völlig überraschend freute sich Geoffrey.

Geoffrey besuchte Josie regelmäßig und versuchte sie gut zu versorgen. Er brachte ihr oft leckeres selbst gekochtes Essen mit oder brachte ihr sogar Schwangerschaftsbücher und ähnliches mit. Ihren Eltern erzählte sie aber weiterhin noch nichts. Geoffrey und sie einigten sich darauf, damit zu warten bis Josie ihren Abschluss hatte. An einem Nachmittag räumte Josie die Spülmaschine ein und wollte danach duschen gehen, als sie einen Schmerz verspürte.

Es war allerdings nicht irgendein Schmerz, es waren die Wehen!

Nothing to see here, just another unplanned pregnancy for Ashley and Orange's reaction. Ashley & Orange aren't necessarily thrilled about this development. I did not plan this one. Since it's happened we're gonna run with it.

I Can't Beleive anything anymore. Even though I know my dad and I are the last of his bloodlines but I feel like I can't even get help and can only be led to nothing but abusive situations that Paul and Karla continue to get away with directing to fit their agenda. They have pairs of ppl everywhere, anybody I'm around and I can't compete with it and the police are part of those pairs. Like outfits they change into.

I am a really good person who tortured herself for like a decade but I can't get any help to save my life and I just get hurt and laughed at by these two murderers that took what my dad did and started to make me have a Goodlife and made it the hell I'm stuck in and it's never ever changing, regardless of anything I do. I don't feel good, I feel tired and sick and don't even have a bed or A home. All I want to do is be with Migo and not have anyone hurt him or Me or yell at us anymore.

Happy Birthday Dad. I'm sorry I cannot compete with your new family or remind my own of how good of a Dad you were to us.
