you know, the whole reason vampires can't see their shadows in folklore is because, back then, all mirrors were silver-backed, and silver was considered a "holy" metal, thus it would reject their unholy visages. so theoretically tav could polish brass, gold, w/e & show him his face after ~200 years.

but he'd probably love the time & dedication it would take to draw/paint him, too, preening under the "admiration & adoration".
