#asks#custom cards#thief deck baby!#who needs a strategy when you can just steal one?#the balancing of these cards is based on the idea that plundering is worse than drawing#because your opponent's cards don't synergize with your deck#so just plunder so much that you can get synergy just from that!#also: “ethereal” is a mechanic that i'm thinking of making a bunch of cards around#maybe a whole (small) set#sets like brothers' war and all will be one are really neat because everything about them is themed around one thing#powerstones or counters#they branch out from that but the idea is really neat!#you could throw a bunch of random brothers' war cards into a pile and end up with some actual synergies#i love that!#combine that with my love of impulsive draw and disturb and such#and i wanna make an ethereal set#the mechanics i'm considering right now are jump-start madness and impulsive draw#and then escape/disturb and foretell/adventure#each pair uses similar stuff so i'm not sure which i'll pick#ironically not using plunder because it doesn't really interact well with the other mechanics#jump-start/escape/disturb/adventure all play badly with it#WAIT i just looked up the comprehensive rules and adventure actually interacts really well with plunder#if you plunder an adventure card and cast the adventure then YOU get to cast the creature half later from exile not the owner!#still not including it but that's neat#i might not even include adventure
