tf hyperlink sentinel fully believes everything he did was for the good of cybertronians, that he was protecting them. even with the cruel caste system and terrible working conditions and restricted outer planet travel, he believed if they ventured too far out of their place their society would end up under the heel of another alien coloniser, so it was his job to put everyone in their place. he couldn't be wrong, the matrix chose him, he couldn't fail. he held onto this until his dying breath, and from within the matrixs projection of past primes, he looks down upon Optimus: it would have been better if they had stayed under his rule, trapped but safe and alive, instead of dying on a starving rotting planet ravaged by war
