It's a bit weird typing out a full post here on tumblr. I used to be one of these artists that mostly focused on posting only images, the least amount of opinions/thoughts I could share, the better. Today, the art world online feels weird, not only because of AI, but also the algorithms on every platform and the general way our craft is getting replaced for close to 0 dollars. This website was a huge instrument in kickstarting my career as a professional artist, it was an inspiring place were artists shared their art and where we could make friends with anyone in the world, in any industries. It was pretty much the place that paved the way as a social media website outside of Facebook, where you could search art through tags etc. Anyhow, Tumblr still has a place in my heart even if all artists moved away from it after the infamous nsfw ban (mostly to Instagram and twitter). And now we're all playing a game of whack-a-mole trying to figure out if the social media platform we're using is going to sell their user content to AI / deep learning (looking at you reddit, going into stocks). On the Tumblr side, Matt Mullenweg's interviews and thoughts on the platform shows he's down to use AI, and I guess it could help create posts faster but then again, you have to click through multiple menus to protect your art (and writing) from being scraped. It's really kind of sad to have to be on the defensive with posting art/writing online. It doesn't even reflect my personal philosophy on sharing content. I've always been a bit of a "punk" thinking if people want to bootleg my work, it's like free advertisement and a testament to people liking what I created, so I've never really watermarked anything and posted fairly high-res version of my work. I don't even think my art is big enough to warrant the defensiveness of glazing/nightshading it, but the thought of it going through a program to be grinded into a data mush to be only excreted out as the ghost of its former self is honestly sort of deadening.
Finally, the most defeating trend is the quantity of nonsense and low-quality content that's being fed to the internet, made a million times easier with the use of AI. I truly feel like we're living what Neil Postman saw happening over 40 years ago in "amusing ourselves to death"(the brightness of this man's mind is still unrivaled in my eyes).
I guess this is my big rant to tell y'all now I'm gonna be posting crunchy art because Nightshade and Glaze basically make your crispy art look like a low-res JPEG, and I feel like an idiot for doing it but I'm considering it an act of low effort resistance against data scraping. If I can help "poison" data scrapping by wasting 5 minutes of my life to spit out a crunchy jpeg before posting, listen, it's not such a bad price to pay. Anyhow check out my new sticker coming to my secret shop really soon, and how he looks before and after getting glazed haha....

Can you describe what you think the type of parent Luigi would be? I think from the information out there and what is speculated. I think he would like to have his kids into a good education but not to the point where it’s too serious. Like I’ve heard the private school he went to was ofc good in education but way too uptight about little things like there suit being wrinkled.
And how it always bothered him when his mom pointed out little things that aren’t proper like him using utensils not accordingly. I honestly see him either having a good amount of kids like 4 max or only having one child lmaooo plus this man reads lots of books so the different perspectives like how being a strenuous overbearing parent wouldn’t be beneficial (sorry if this is weird lmaooo)
In developmental psychology, there’s 4 main parenting styles:
Authoritarian — focus on obedience, more punishment over discipline
Authoritative — creates positive relationships, enforces rules
Permissive — don’t enforce rules, “kids will be kids” mentality
Uninvolved — provides little guidance, nurturing, or attention
He’d definitely be an authoritative parent, for sure. I know he would probably go on tangents, with pleasure, about how authoritarian and uninvolved parents are psychologically detrimental to not only their own children, but to their self-images as individuals, and would theorize how their parenting style ultimately reflects to the form of parenthood that were exposed to as a child, and how that goes hand in hand with the nature vs. nurture debate. Though I’m sure he’d enforce rules, to instill the understanding of what’s good and what’s bad within morals and ethics, I could see that he’s mimicking the idea of being a bit permissive at times, where he believes that kids will be kids, and that they are naturally curious and interested in everything that they come across in their universe, and the only way they’ll learn is by interacting with the world around them. But he would never be the permissive parent, in which he’d overindulges as a parent to avoid conflict and has low expectations of his children, not ever holding them accountable and seeing their capability to grow and do better when they make mistakes.
I think, too, without a doubt that he’d want his kids to have a good education, like any parent would, especially if he has the privileges and opportunity to lend that to them and give them that, like he did. But at the same time, I could see him also setting his kid(s) down one day, and asking them how they really feel about school—that is, if they attended a private school—and if they feel that it’s fulfilling them, that it’s making them feel happy, and that they’re having a chance of just enjoying being a kid. Because if they were feeling like they had to grow up quick, he’d feel terrible and would not want to not give his children their space of being able to be a kid, all because of the excuse of the sacrifice of making them have formal schooling.
I have some explanations behind why he’d either just want one kid, or like four, as you said:
One child — avoids sibling rivalry and competition; being fulfilled and content with just a smaller family overall, having that minimalist lifestyle already and focusing more on quality over quantity; reducing carbon footprint (because we know Lu knows about the science of it all); making sure that he has a strong bond with his child and can focus all of his time dedicated to him and them and their upbringing and overall development
Four children — obviously, wanting a big family, as he comes from a big family; the benefits of sibling relationships and support and how they provide companionship and support and be a source of learning and play

6 Things to Know About NASA’s Lunar Trailblazer
Feb. 26, 2025
The small satellite mission will map the Moon to help scientists better understand where its water is, what form it’s in, how much is there, and how it changes over time.
Launching no earlier than Wednesday, Feb. 26, NASA’s Lunar Trailblazer will help resolve an enduring mystery: Where is the Moon’s water? After sharing a ride on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket with Intuitive Machines’ IM-2 launch — part of NASA’s CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) initiative — the small satellite will take several months to arrive in lunar orbit.
Here are six things to know about the mission.
1. Lunar Trailblazer will produce high-resolution maps of water on the lunar surface.
One of the biggest lunar discoveries in recent decades is that the Moon’s surface has quantities of water, but little about its nature is known. To investigate, Lunar Trailblazer will decipher where the water is, what form it is in, how much is there, and how it changes over time. The small satellite will produce the best-yet maps of water on the lunar surface. Observations gathered during the two-year prime mission will also contribute to the understanding of water cycles on airless bodies throughout the solar system.
2. The small satellite will use two state-of-the-art science instruments.
Key to achieving these goals are the spacecraft’s two science instruments: the High-resolution Volatiles and Minerals Moon Mapper (HVM3) infrared spectrometer and the Lunar Thermal Mapper (LTM) infrared multispectral imager. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California provided the HVM3 instrument, while LTM was built by the University of Oxford and funded by the UK Space Agency.
HVM3 will detect and map the spectral fingerprints, or wavelengths of reflected sunlight, of minerals and the different forms of water on the lunar surface. The LTM instrument will map the minerals and thermal properties of the same landscape. Together they will create a picture of the abundance, location, and form of water while also tracking how its distribution changes over time and temperature.
3. Lunar Trailblazer will take a long and winding road to the Moon.
Weighing only 440 pounds (200 kilograms) and measuring 11.5 feet (3.5 meters) wide with its solar panels fully deployed, Lunar Trailblazer is about the size of a dishwasher and relies on a relatively small propulsion system. To make the spacecraft’s four-to-seven-month trip to the Moon (depending on the launch date) as efficient as possible, the mission’s design and navigation team has planned a looping trajectory that will use the gravity of the Sun, Earth, and Moon to guide Lunar Trailblazer to its final science orbit — a technique called low-energy transfer.
4. The spacecraft will peer into the darkest parts of the Moon’s South Pole.
Lunar Trailblazer’s science orbit positions it to peer into the craters at the Moon’s South Pole using the HVM3 instrument. What makes these craters so intriguing is that they harbor cold traps that may not have seen direct sunlight for billions of years, which means they’re a potential hideout for frozen water. The HVM3 spectrometer is designed to use faint reflected light from the walls of craters to see the floor of even permanently shadowed regions. If Lunar Trailblazer finds significant quantities of ice at the base of the craters, those locations could be pinpointed as a resource for future lunar explorers.
5. Lunar Trailblazer is a high-risk, low-cost mission.
Lunar Trailblazer was a 2019 selection of NASA’s SIMPLEx (Small Innovative Missions for Planetary Exploration), which provides opportunities for low-cost science spacecraft to ride-share with selected primary missions. To maintain a lower overall cost, SIMPLEx missions have a higher risk posture and lighter requirements for oversight and management. This higher risk acceptance allows NASA to enable science missions that could not otherwise be done.
6. Future missions will benefit from Lunar Trailblazer’s data.
Mapping the Moon’s water supports future human and robotic lunar missions. With knowledge from Lunar Trailblazer of where water is located, astronauts could process lunar ice to create water for human use, breathable oxygen, or fuel. And they could conduct science by sampling the ice for later study to determine the water’s origins.

From Digital to Offset: Understanding Various Types of Printing Techniques
Tumblr media
1. Digital Printing: Faster, more efficient and more convenient
Digital printing is one of the most popular and viable printing options available today. This involves transferring images directly to paper or other media using PDFs and other digital files. This approach has gained traction due to speed and low setup costs, making it ideal for short runs or scheduled projects.
Applications:Digital printing is widely used to print marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, business cards and banners. It is also commonly used in printing custom products such as photo books, invitations and garments.
Advantages:
· Speed: Digital printing is faster than printing methods, making it suitable for fast turnaround jobs.
· Cost-effective in smaller quantities: There are no setup fees, making it more affordable for smaller publishing businesses.
· Customization: Digital printing allows for easy personalization, perfect for targeted marketing.
However, digital printing doesn’t always produce the same depth of color or texture as other methods, especially on larger pieces.
2. Offset printing: Better quality, greater volume production
Offset printing or offset lithography is one of the most common and reliable methods of printing large volumes. This process involves transferring an image from a metal plate to a rubber cushion, then pressing the image onto paper. It is known for its image quality and is particularly suitable for more demanding stability applications.
Applications: Offset printing is ideal for many productions, such as magazines, magazines, catalogs, and larger merchandise.
Advantages:
· Higher Image: Offset printing produces sharper, cleaner images with more accurate colors, making it ideal for jobs that require higher quality print work.
· Cost effective for large volumes: Although the initial process is more expensive than digital printing, offset is more expensive when printing in large quantities.
· Consistency: Offset printing provides consistent results throughout printing, ensuring that each print is perfect.
3. Screen Printing: Robust and versatile
Screen printing, also known as silk screening, uses grid stencils to ink various surfaces. The process is particularly popular for printing products such as t-shirts, mugs and promotional materials, as it produces vibrant and long-lasting colors.
Application: This process is widely used for creating custom clothes, clothing, signs and even posters.
Advantages:
· Durability: Screen printing is extremely durable, making it ideal for products that require durability.
· Versatility: Works with a variety of materials including fabrics, plastics and metals.
· Bold colors: Screen printing is known for producing vivid and opaque colors, making it popular for more visual images.
However, like offset printing, screen printing can be cost-effective in small volumes due to its setup costs.
4. Flexographic printing: Perfect for packaging
Flexographic printing, commonly referred to as flexo, uses flexible rubber or photopolymer plates to transfer images onto a variety of materials such as plastic, foil, paper, etc. It is most often used in packaging, labels and packaging.
Application: Flexo printing is commonly used to print labels, flexible packaging, boxes, and other packaging.
Advantages:
· Faster and more efficient: Flexographic printing offers faster production speeds, making it ideal for larger orders.
· Extensive alignment: This technique can print on virtually any substrate, including porous materials such as plastic and metal objects.
· Production efficiency: Flexographic printing can produce high-quality, consistent results, especially with larger print sizes.
5. Gravure Printing: High-volume gravure printing
In gravure printing, or rotogravure, the image is engraved onto a cylinder, which is then applied to the print. High-resolution images and continuous tone images are often printed with this technique.
Application: Gravure printing is widely used for printing packaging, magazines, catalogs and wallpaper.
Advantages:
· High Quality: Graver produces beautiful images with beautiful details and rich colors.
· Ideal for long-term printing: Although setup costs are high, gravure is cost-effective for very large runs, making it perfect for mass-market printing.
Conclusion: Choosing the Right Printing Method
The type of printing method you choose depends largely on the needs of your project, including volume, budget, and desired output. If you’re looking for quick, smooth printing with a fast turnaround time, digital printing could be the right fit. Offset printing or gravure printing can provide consistent results for high quality, intense production. For special applications such as custom garments or packaging, screen printing and flexographic printing stand out as excellent options.
If you want to get high-quality printing services, it is important to choose someone who is skilled in the specific technique that best suits your project. Whether you print a few brochures or thousands of labels, the right printing techniques ensure that your content looks professional and effectively communicates your message.

Hilda AU Jujutsu Kaisen
Good morning, beautiful people of Tumblr. Today it's time to talk about David, only in this case it would be David from my Hilda AU which is based on Jujutsu Kaisen.
Tumblr media
David, since he was little, always had some insect nearby and not because he wanted to but because they simply didn't leave him alone for a moment. For as long as he could remember there was always a new insect every day of his life and he didn't realize it until someone else told him.
What he didn't know was that all of this was the fault of his cursed technique, basically the technique of collecting curses and various types of shikigami, such as Suguru Geto. Or well, almost the same technique. Unlike Geto, David gave off cursed energy so lightly that only low-grade curses and small entities with a bit of cursed energy could detect it and consider it something to go and enjoy, not knowing that this was a trap created in a certain way. unconscious by David. In this au David had more insects surrounding him since he was little, and when I say many they were many, and there were even some low-ranking spirits following him. Given this, and the great fear he had of insects, David's cursed technique was activated and began to trap any entity with less strength and cursed energy than David, which caused most of the insects to leave, the The only beings that escaped were those that had no bad intentions, which is why David was seen with an insect daily.
Tumblr media
David's technique has the ability to capture, store and polymerize all types of spirits that he gets as well as insects with a small prcentage of cursed energy.
Also, the different variety of stored insects and low-rank spirits had increased exponentially the day Hilda arrived inTrollberg.
Now the number of insects that David has stored at 15 years of age, considering that his technique began collecting at the age of 5,exceeded the figure of 3000. The rank 8 cursed spirits that David had were 60
And he had a quantity of 7 rank 6 spirits. Obviously insects have less curse power than rank 8 spirits, about 1/12 the power of a low rank spirit.
Tumblr media
The name of David's cursed technique is: Swarm Kingdom.
Swarm Kingdom has both passive and active abilities. At the moment David only has passive abilities. An example would be the passive ability to collect insects that David developed completely unconsciously, even before knowing that he had cursed energy.
Another example of a skill it has is to protect the nest. Basically what any swarm does when it sees that its home is being attacked; counterattack.
This passive ability that upon detecting any possible lethal risk against the individual, that is, David, the swarm will immediately come out to defend the boy from the threat. He developed this skill recently in the Trollberg incident.
There are two types of insects that come to your aid; the internal and the external. External ones are those that go outside the body to fight and receive damage that could hurt the user.
The internal ones make sure to protect the user from any harm from anomalies created by poisonous substances or things internal to the user's body. They are also good shock absorbers against the blows that David receives.
It should be noted that David, despite having many insects and spirits, has no sense of combat at the moment, and this makes him depend a lot on his invocations. Even if you are as afraid as the dangers you face (I made the image with a lot of editing and images that I found)
Tumblr media
A technique that David will develop will be to polymerize his spirits and insects to obtain ones of better quality and with more power.
He will also develop the use of his insects as his own weapons when fighting.

“What made your art/adopts/commissions start to grow?”
Hello, artist anon! I’m really sorry to hear about your mom. I hope you’re coping well ❤️
I am very lucky to have an art style that attracts clients without having to advertise much, so my experience is limited. Before I actually became *good*, I was very unmotivated all the time because there were just artists who were miles better than me EVERYWHERE. Nothing I tried would work in my favor, such as:
•Selling cheap artwork - Well, a better artist is selling for the same price!
•Selling even cheaper artwork - Not worth it. You are being underpaid for your time.
•Advertising constantly - If no one ever bites, it will become tiring and you might grow to dislike your art since it seems that everyone does too.
Of course a lot of artists are still much better than I am, but at the end of the day, your style is unique. Some buyers will like your style better than others even if they’re more detailed/professional and are selling for roughly the same price.
I don’t know what your art style is like and whether you’re a beginner, an experienced artist or a professional, but I’ll tell you some patterns I’ve noticed about beginners to experienced artists on Lioden.
•Too many beginners sell their art for dirt cheap and they are taken advantage of by other players. These players are often looking for more art to add to their ocs on Toyhouse, no matter the quality, just quantity. Don’t set your prices too low.
•Some artists only set up a shop and advertise it on Art Sales chat. It works for some, but a lot of buyers don’t want to look at each shop in the Art Sales forum. Instead, a lot of them will post in the Looking for Art forums with specific requests - if your art meets such requests, you should link your shop in these posts!
•Human art sells like water on Lioden.
•Use HTML to add actual images to your posts/art shop. It’s a pain to look through each link. That is, unless you have a proper portfolio! Still, add the link plus a couple examples!
•Some adopts sell really well while others not so much. Look through the Adoptables forum and Looking for Art with adoptable requests so you can have an idea of what people are looking for - not just species/colors, but patterns, special traits and even the art style are important to buyers.
•Do NOT try to get away with tracing/copying. Referencing is perfectly ok. You don’t want to get yourself caught up in drama.
**Counterintuitive, but if you want to improve your art, I recommend tracing/copying while studying proportions/anatomy as you’re doing it.
•A lot of beginners won’t be able to sell their art, at least not consistently. It’s sad, but there’s really nothing to do other than practice. Don’t be discouraged. 3 years ago my art would NOT be selling as well as it is right now; my only redeeming quality was being able to draw both humans and animals, but the proportions were atrocious.
•I’ll emphasize this - before trying to sell your art, look at the trends in the forums. What are buyers looking for? You might do well in a niche market (ex.: selling Warrior Cats adoptables) or keeping your options open.
•Make sure buyers pay upfront or half before and half after you’re finished.
•And last but not least: join contests! When I did, I had people PM me asking if I sell art months after I had made an art shop - some people just don’t check them 😅
If you need more niche tips, please try to hint at what you’re able to draw and your level; you’ll get better tips this way ;) Good luck!

ive been looking at the ifcomp and i think im gonna do it. any advice for a firsttimer? what should i expect? what was your experience?
Hi Anon!
First of all, congrats on taking the leap! I know it can be quite daunting to participate in one of the biggest and oldest IF Competition there is currently. Takes quite a bit of guts to do it! Yay, you!
Suuuper long ask answer because you asked questions requiring long answers, where I probably repeated myself multiple times.
IFComp Advice
What to expect?
What was my experience?
TLDR: it's hard but also fun. Def recommend at one point (unless ranking makes you go blerg... then do the SpringThing or an unranked game jam).
IFComp Advice
I do have some advice for you, especially if you are planning on submitting a game to the IFComp this year, which is less than a month away:
Be Ready for your work to be judged and reviewed by people. Some will be harsh, some will be kind, most will be fair. If you are not fully open to criticism, especially negative one, the voting period will sting like hell. It is also fine not to read any review or comment about your entry, but a head's up is important.
Be prepared to rank low. If you follow the advice below, you probably won't end up last place. But the competition is stiff. Authors often spend a year or two on their entries before they submit. If you know you can't handle rankings, go for the SpringThing instead. More chill.
Submit your intent to participate NOW! The deadline is Sept 1st, but it's easy to put it off and forget. And intent to participate doesn't mean you have to submit something. You can back out at any moment (even during the voting period).
Check the rules and timeline of the comp (@ifcomp). You don't want to disqualify yourself by mistake...
Keep it short: 15 to 30 min of gameplay. There is less than one month left, and you want plenty of time to make sure your entry is as polish as possible! I took 3 months last time and it was a buggy mess on Day 1 of the voting period.
Use a program you know, or a simple one with good documentation or guides. You might have time in a month to learn how to use a complex program, but I wouldn't recommend it. List at the end.
Create something simple but airtight. You are racing against time. Shooting for the moon with something complex could work, or it could land you in the bottom. Usually, it is best to create a game which is doing little, but doing it very well, than submitting a behemoth that can't even do its core gameplay loop right every time (dissing myself, yes). Sam Ashwell has some good article for choice-based, Emily Short for parser puzzles.
Your prose should have as little grammar mistakes as possible. Pass your text through as many grammar checkers, and maybe some human testers (beta). The more eyes you have on it, the better. Hate to say it but, avoid word crimes there...
Have some impactful interactivity, that makes sense with the story. Puzzle, branching of variation, etc... Even if all of it is fake, and you are pushing the player through a linear story, the player shouldn't feel like they are just flipping pages of a book. I am not talking about the quantity, but the quality of the interactivity. Emily Short has some great article about that stuff.
Don't have bugs. Should be obvious, but you know... I didn't follow that one and got (rightly) roasted for it in the reviews. Test your game (and have people test your game) A LOT.
Style your project a little bit (if possible). It doesn't have to be fancy, but as simple as changing the colour of the background and the text, maybe the font of the text as well (!!! it should still be readable) can go a long way. Also appreciated but never mandatory: different formatting for different bits of text, some animation in the text, having images, having audio, having accessibility settings (theme, font, visual, audio)... Again, those are pointers. Leave this for last.
Credit where credit is due. Code, assets, beta-tester, etc... anything you did not make from scratch, or anyone helping you along the way, should be added in a credit page. Also credit yourself for what you did :P you deserve to show off your efforts!
Test your game relentlessly. Yes it bares repeating, I've done that mistake. Don't be me. Test your stuff again. Have people break your game.
Edit your submission page with care. Have a grabbing hook for your synopsis, an eye catching image, and any relevant documents the players would need (i.e. walkthrough). DON'T FORGET TO ADD A WAY FOR PLAYER REACH YOU FOR BUGS!
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Have fun! If you have fun making your entry, it will show in the writing and how the game is constructed.
Hypertext/Choice-based: Twine (Harlowe, SugarCube), Ink/Inklewriter, Moiki, ChoiceScript Parser: Adventuron
Oh... and good luck. You'll need it :P
If you are thinking of next year instead, most of these advice applies. You can just rule out the intent submission for now, the length of the game (1h gameplay is usually the sweet spot), and the program to use (though take one you understand). The rest could work for any comp honestly.
What to Expect?
The IFComp period in an exciting time where many people gather to play games and talk about them. Many people submit stuff yearly, sometimes with good results, sometimes it's atrocious. Sometimes, authors who haven't been seen in a while reappear to show off their labour of love or review other people's games. It can be very intense and overwhelming if you are participating (author or player).
As an author, you should expect (not exhaustive):
deadline (intent/game/voting),
potentially getting comments for bugs (and having to update, which you are allowed to),
seeing reviews and discussions about your entry (mainly on the IntFiction Forum, but sometimes on blogs too): good stuff, negative stuff, and people missing the point entirely or having bad take, or takes you didn't think about.
seeing people rating your entry on the IFDB (rating =/= vote, but can be a flawed indicator)
feelings galore (good, bad, ugly, anxious), especially stressing about the results
having to remind yourself that no one can judge everything completely objectively (expect when it comes to bugs, it is or it isn't), and that people vote for what they like.
following the rules on the IFComp website
a special private group on the IntFiction forum to discuss with other authors when the voting period starts, as well as posting reviews,
maybe get a prize at the end? (depends on your placement)
Honestly, it can be pretty rough. This is not an easy competition. Most people have been working on those projects for months or years. Some have for just a few weeks, but their pieces can be out of this world. Only the organisers have an idea of who is competing ahead of time, and how competitive it could be from year to year (i.e. did big names come out or not).
While reviews and ratings can give you an indication of how your game is faring with players, you will not be able to know until the votes are actually out (case and point: me, thought I did much better than reality). Either way, it will be a surprise, good, bad, disappointing...
Speaking of reviewers, most will try to be as partial as possible and going into every entry with an open mind. But, there are harsh reviewers out there, as well as kind ones. It is not unusual to see blunt reviews, especially if something ticked the player (bugs usually).
But also, it's loads of fun! You have a bunch of very serious people debating on minor things, newcomers trying out the comp and sometimes even reaching the stars, oldcomers popping by for a cup promising they will review ever game and then disappearing after three, a lot of very very very good games to play, so many different perspectives on what if IF, and feeling like you have a voice in what should be crowned the best of the competition!
It's weird, it's serious, it's goofy...
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best... but most importantly, have some fun. And do what's best for your mental health!
What was my experience?
I think I've talked about it quite extensively in my Post-Mortem for The Thick Table Tavern. Read that before the end of this, for context.
And almost a year after this experience (on this day, I was frantically writing), I think my feelings have changed quite a bit. I went into the competition guns-blazing without understanding the importance of things (bugs/grammar especially) and thinking I had done the absolute most and breaking the genre, believed I did sooooo much better than any other entry, got very dramatic when the first non-positive reviews came in, and was about to throw my shit when I saw the 1s in the voting curve. I am only a bit over-exaggerating here.
I definitely deserved the placement I got. Don't misunderstand, I am incredibly proud of what I achieved there! But... there were major issues for sure. And I've come around to recognise those.
Those 1s-2s were warranted, those negative comments were warranted: the first version was buggy as hell (which I think was the version in the mass downloadable packet? and I updated the game like 20 times), there are still a bunch of issues with the prose (I learned my em dash lesson!), the pacing is aaaalll the way off (I thought I was being cheeky, but didn't always land)... This was something way different for the comp, maybe more experimental than people expected (I mean, who does a click-only bar for a text-based comp...)? But most importantly, while it looked polished, you just needed to play a few minutes to see the varnish crack...
To say the least, I got slapped back to reality. HARD. This was a mediocre good-looking game. Real pretty, big flaws. And that's ok (not putting myself down). Not every game can be winners (unless it's La Petite Mort or DOL-OS :P), not every game will work as intended. You can rack all the trophies all the times. Sometimes you're just at the bottom.
All this might sound hella negative, but I am incredibly grateful for this experience. I have learned so much about game creation, coding, writing, what to do and avoid... There are things I probably wouldn't have learned had I not participated (or not as early). I have created friendships (and rivalries /jk) and found a community where I feel comfortable being this experimental with my work (hey, it worked for DOL-OS!) and continuing breaking the codes. It's renewed my drive to create and do more: games, experiments, trying new program, but also for the community, helping out, creating guides and templates, giving advice...
And I've found a bit of love for reviewing stuff it turns out.
I've made my peace.
And I have plans for a new pretty weird game for a future IFComp ;) I will make people cringe again :P Hopefully not because of bugs!
Final sidenote: I am still not taking my advice. No one tested DOL-OS before it was submitted, and it won. But also, other games placed poorly... I am still speed-running through competitions (not the IFComp this time), and tripping all over all the time. I still submit thing thinking I'm the hottest stuff and that no one else will be better than me. Completely delusional here. Be better than me, for your sake.

qaf drabble #1
early season 3 break up small little drabble that i need out of my drafts :) , brian centric
Brian is on his third cigarette and his second beer. It’s Wednesday and Woody's tightly packed, but Brian's head is too all over the place to truly pay attention to the crowd around him. Not about its quantity nor its quality.
Unfortunately, despite his inability to acknowledge his surroundings, all the whispering happening around him easily reaches his ears. He can't escape the judgment being directed his way. Callous words about how tired, how haggard he looks, how dispirited and pale. How the god of Liberty avenue has stumbled and fallen to the depths of the worst kind of hell. Lonely and apathetic and too tired to hide himself behind his shell of glamour and charm.
He lights a fourth cigarette and instead of a third beer he gets himself a glass of whisky.
"Hey… Brian." Someone sitting on his left strikes a conversation, or at least tries to. Brian glances at him and hums. "Do you remember me? We… Met at Babylon last Sunday."
Brian rarely remembers, but he looks back at him anyway. The mole on the skin beneath his eye vaguely reminds him of the backroom, of loud music filtering through the air and mingling with Justin's voice in Brian's ears.
He's the last guy they've had together and Brian is not sure whether he wants to fuck him or make sure to never see him again.
He doesn't try to do either, he just goes back to gazing into his drink and smoking his cigarette.
"We've been looking everywhere for you!" Ted and Emmett appear out of thin air and unknowingly save him from finally giving in and taking the guy home, just to hear his voice, look at his mole and pretend there's three of them in his bed.
"Yeah, it's pecs night at Babylon, what are you doing here?" Emmett sits beside him in a way that’s entirely too deliberate. He very openly reaches for Ted's hand, he glances at Brian in a way that he probably thinks must be subtle, and joins their fingers together, likely expecting Brian to point and sneer at them just to distract himself. Brian has to look away instead.
He picks at the damp label on one of his empty beer bottles, he stays there until it’s deep into the night and waits, he's not sure for what.
"This new account is bullshit." Brian groans in the agency corridors, Cynthia snickers and rolls her eyes as she walks next to him fidgeting with all the new documents they've acquired in the meeting.
"Why would they launch a new cassette player in 2003? And why do they expect them to sell?" She, as she often does, speaks out Brian's exact thoughts.
"I don't know and it's coming from one of our oldest accounts, so I can't even tell them to fuck off. They better pay me before they go bankrupt." He massages his temples and wipes off some of the tinted moisturizer he's started packing over his face. Wordlessly Cynthia helps him fix the patch of skin he's uncovered and Brian slams the door of his office harder than he should because of it.
Two days later a copy about nostalgia comes across his desk: You only know what you'll miss, once it's already gone. The accompanying images of Walkmans knockoffs and cassettes don't do much to divert his thoughts from blond hair and blue eyes.
When Brian comes home that afternoon he notices his wardrobe only has his clothes in it, he scans the loft and it takes him just a superficial glance to be able to tell that Justin sneaked in during his office hours and took away most of his things. His eyes linger on the computer and the graphics tablet he got him still sitting where he last left it.
There's a feeling he'd rather not describe sinking to the pit of his stomach, it reaches so low inside him that Brian convinces himself his only choice is to bounce back and start looking up again.
He cleans up and for the first night since the Rage party, he wears his best fuck clothes and skips Woody's to get himself right to the backrooms.
The next logical step is to steal Michael away from his quiet evenings with Ben and let him distract him from the turmoil inside him. Allow his company to patch him up and hold him together, like he used to do when his dad got too drunk and Brian had to wear bruises for weeks, when his mom was too distracted by her own listlessness, to realize Brian needed her comfort.
"We can't stay too long, Ben has to wake up early tomorrow." Michael shouts in Brian's ear so he can hear him over the music and the yelling happening on the Babylon dancefloor. From this close he can see he still has a dark spot around his left eye from the blow he delivered to his face, without thinking Brian traces it with the tips of his fingers.
"What? The professor's working on a Saturday morning?" He asks, mostly just to fill the silence that can't be hidden by the loud bass beating and pulsating in the air around them.
"He's got a check up at the hospital." Michael says it like it's nothing special, but Brian has always been able to see right through him with ease. They dance a little closer after that, their hands gripping tightly each other's clothes.
"You better take him home then. It's already time for my scheduled backroom appearance anyway." Brian pushes him away only a handful of minutes later, Michael looks up at him and pats his shoulder.
"Listen, I know I behaved like an ass… But be careful, okay? Don't let this whole thing drag you down." Michael says, but can't look directly into his eyes anymore. Brian knows his outburst during Linds and Mel's party is still haunting him, even though letting his emotions get the best of him is Michael's specialty, just like hiding them is Brian's.
"What thing?" Brian furrows his eyebrows and shrugs, feigning ignorance, "I've never felt better."
"...Right." Michael releases a sigh between exasperated and amused, then kisses Brian's cheek and walks back to the bar where Ben, Emmett and Ted are deep into conversation.
Brian watches until all four of them decide to leave and start moving towards the wardrobe. Emmett looks back into the crowd one last time and raises a hand to wave at him, Brian raises his chin to acknowledge him, then he turns on his heels and lets himself be dragged away by the first man who hits on him.
Things slowly start to settle again. Brian stops paying short, blond twinks to wear baggy clothes and lay flat on his bed, while he rams them from behind. Hopefully soon he'll also stop seeing Justin in every trick he brings home.
For now he's cursed to see his face every time someone begs for his cock. Also whenever he steps into the diner.
Brian is starting to question the amount of money he's spending to put him through school, considering how he seems to be working every shift from Monday through Friday. He doesn't comment on it though, or on anything else, and he purposely gives his order to another server.
He's started going to tanning salons again, he's cut his hair and he is generally looking much better than he did weeks ago. Despite all of that, he keeps his sunglasses on, not wanting Justin's furtive glances to see anything he isn't supposed to. Also to shield himself from seeing how little his own ailments seem to be reflected in his inquisitive blue gaze.

Discover Premium Custom Apparel with Direct to Film Printing
Tumblr media
In today’s creative market, standing out with custom apparel is not just about designs—it’s about the quality of the printing process. Whether you're a small business, designer, or looking to launch your own brand, finding DTF Near Me: High-Quality Direct to Film Printing can make all the difference. This cutting-edge printing technology offers vibrant, long-lasting, and detailed prints that bring your ideas to life on fabric.
At the heart of this innovation is the technique itself—Direct to Film (DTF) printing. Unlike traditional methods that require extensive setup, screens, or high quantities, DTF makes it easier to produce intricate designs quickly and efficiently with superior quality. Whether you're printing on cotton, polyester, or blends, this method ensures sharp resolution and color vibrancy across various materials.
What is DTF Printing and Why It’s Gaining Popularity
DTF printing involves printing your design onto a special transfer film using high-quality water-based inks. Once printed, a hot-melt powder is applied, which helps the design adhere to garments during heat pressing. The final product is a soft, durable, and highly detailed image that feels great to wear.
One of the reasons why DTF printing is rising in popularity is its versatility. It supports full-color printing without the limitations of traditional screen printing. Even better, there's no weeding required like in vinyl cutting, and the prints have impressive stretch and wash resistance. This makes DTF the go-to solution for individuals and businesses seeking high-quality custom apparel with minimal hassle.
The Benefits of Choosing Local DTF Services
Searching for “DTF near me” isn’t just about convenience—it’s about establishing a reliable partnership with professionals who understand your vision. Local DTF printing studios offer hands-on customer service, faster turnaround times, and the opportunity to see samples and materials up close. This direct connection ensures your project meets your expectations from start to finish.
Moreover, working with a local print studio helps build community relationships while reducing shipping costs and delays. You’re able to collaborate on designs, make last-minute changes, and receive real-time updates, all of which are crucial for timely launches or events.
Why Direct to Film is Ideal for Small Businesses and Creators
If you're a small business owner or independent designer, DTF printing can help you scale your merchandise with flexibility and affordability. You don’t need to commit to large print runs or deal with excess inventory. DTF allows for low minimums, enabling you to test new designs or create limited editions without the risk. Find us here
Additionally, the precision and clarity of DTF make it ideal for printing logos, artwork, and complex visuals—ensuring your brand identity is represented accurately and professionally. Whether you’re designing apparel for a brand launch, promotional event, or resale, DTF offers unbeatable quality and detail.
Ideal Applications for Direct to Film Printing
DTF printing is highly versatile and can be used across a wide variety of garments and items, including:
T-Shirts and Hoodies – Ideal for fashion brands, events, and promotional campaigns.
Tote Bags and Accessories – Great for giveaways or retail merchandise.
Workwear and Uniforms – Durable and vibrant prints that last through frequent washes.
Team Apparel – Create personalized jerseys and spirit wear with high-resolution logos and names.
Because the ink is applied on top of the fabric and not soaked in like DTG (Direct to Garment), DTF prints retain color vibrancy even on dark or textured fabrics.
How to Choose the Right DTF Print Studio
Not all print studios are created equal. When selecting a provider for your DTF needs, here are a few important factors to consider:
Quality of Equipment and Inks – Top-tier DTF results depend on the use of professional-grade printers, hot-melt powders, and colorfast inks.
Experience and Expertise – A studio with a strong portfolio and positive reviews is more likely to deliver consistent results.
Customer Service – From file preparation to final delivery, your chosen provider should offer responsive support and clear communication.
Turnaround Time – Speed matters, especially for time-sensitive orders or product drops. Choose a studio known for reliable lead times.
Customization Options – Whether you need neck tags, bagging, or specific garment sourcing, look for a studio that offers end-to-end services.
Partnering with Professionals Who Understand Your Brand
For creators who are serious about quality, partnering with an experienced DTF print studio can elevate your apparel from ordinary to standout. Look for a studio that doesn’t just fulfill orders, but one that understands your goals and helps translate your creative vision into tangible products.
Professional studios often provide artwork guidance, color matching services, and support in choosing the right garments to suit your project. This attention to detail ensures that your final product is something you can proudly promote and sell.
Direct to Film printing is revolutionizing the custom apparel industry with its combination of quality, efficiency, and flexibility. Whether you’re creating a new clothing line, outfitting a team, or simply designing one-of-a-kind garments, this technology offers an affordable and high-quality solution. By seeking out experienced professionals and exploring local options, you ensure that your project receives the attention and craftsmanship it deserves. Let your creativity shine through with detailed, vibrant prints that stand the test of time.

Choosing the Best Branded Products for Your Business
When it comes to growing your business, one of the smartest strategies is using branded products. These items not only help you market your brand but also leave a lasting impression on your customers. Whether you're a startup or an established company, choosing the right products can make all the difference.
Let’s explore how you can pick the best options for your business and make your brand stand out!
Why Branded Products Matter
In today’s competitive world, businesses need to do more than just advertise. You need to connect with your customers emotionally. That’s where branded products come in. These are items like pens, mugs, t-shirts, or notebooks that carry your company’s name or logo.
According to a study by the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), 8 out of 10 people remember the branding on promotional products they receive. Even better, 83% of people are more likely to do business with a brand that gave them a promotional item.
Benefits of Using Branded Products
Here are some key advantages of using branded products for your business:
Brand Awareness: Products with your logo help people remember your business.
Cost-Effective Marketing: Unlike digital ads, one-time spending on promotional items can bring long-term results.
Customer Loyalty: Giving out useful items can increase trust and appreciation.
More Impressions: On average, a promotional product is kept for over 8 months. That’s 8 months of visibility for your brand.
How to Choose the Right Products
Choosing the best product isn’t about picking the most expensive one. It’s about selecting what fits your brand and audience best.
1. Know Your Audience
Start by understanding who your customers are. Are they office workers, students, or fitness lovers? If your audience is tech-savvy, branded USB drives or wireless chargers might work. For students, custom notebooks or backpacks are great.
2. Focus on Usefulness
People keep products they find useful. Items like tote bags, water bottles, or mobile accessories are used daily. This means your brand stays in sight for longer.
3. Keep Your Budget in Mind
Set a clear budget before placing any orders. Many Personalised Promotional Products are available in bulk, which can lower costs significantly.
4. Choose Quality Over Quantity
Low-quality items may reflect badly on your brand. It’s better to give out fewer high-quality items than many poor ones.
5. Add a Personal Touch
Customers love a personal touch. This is where Personalised Promotional Products make a big impact. Adding a person’s name or tailoring the message makes the gift feel special.

Bulk Custom T-Shirt Printing: Save More on Large Orders
In today’s fast-paced world of branding, promotions, and events, custom T-shirts have become a staple. Whether you're organizing a corporate event, launching a startup, hosting a charity run, or planning a family reunion, custom T-shirts are the go-to option for creating a unified and memorable look. But did you know that bulk custom T-shirt printing can save you a significant amount of money?
This blog dives deep into the world of bulk custom T-shirt printing and explores how you can get high-quality, customized apparel without breaking the bank.
Why Choose Custom T-Shirts?
Before diving into bulk orders, it's important to understand why custom T-shirts are so popular:
Brand Visibility: Whether it’s a logo, slogan, or design, custom T-shirts act as walking billboards.
Team Unity: Matching shirts foster a sense of unity and identity among team members.
Promotional Use: They make for great giveaways that keep your brand in people’s minds.
Event Memorabilia: Perfect keepsakes for attendees of events, reunions, or concerts.
With so many use cases, it's no wonder custom T-shirt printing has become a booming industry.
The Real Perks of Bulk Ordering
Ordering custom T-shirts in bulk can bring a range of benefits:
1. Cost-Effective Pricing
Printing in larger quantities typically means a lower cost per unit. Most printing companies offer tiered pricing, so the more you order, the less you pay per shirt. For example:
10 shirts: $15 each
50 shirts: $8 each
100 shirts: $6 each
Over time, this adds up to substantial savings, especially for large organizations or repeated events.
2. Streamlined Production
Bulk orders often allow for more efficient production processes, which can reduce turnaround time. This is especially helpful for tight deadlines or large-scale campaigns.
3. Consistency in Quality
When you print all your shirts at once, you ensure a consistent look and feel across every item. There’s less room for variation when the printing process is done in one batch.
4. Increased Customization Options
Printing in bulk often opens the door to more customization choices at a better price—such as special inks, embroidery, or eco-friendly materials.
5. Inventory for Future Use
Having extra shirts on hand means you're always prepared for new team members, last-minute event participants, or additional sales opportunities.
Who Benefits Most from Bulk Orders?
Bulk custom T-shirt printing is ideal for:
Businesses: Outfit employees or promote your brand.
Schools & Colleges: Perfect for clubs, sports teams, or school events.
Nonprofits: Promote your cause and provide apparel for volunteers.
Event Organizers: Create a cohesive look for participants or staff.
Retailers: Stock up on branded merchandise to sell.
Choosing the Right Printing Method
When ordering in bulk, the printing method you choose can impact both cost and quality. Common methods include:
Screen Printing: Best for bulk orders, offering durability and vibrant colors at low cost.
Direct-to-Garment (DTG): Ideal for complex designs but more expensive for large orders.
Heat Transfer: Good for smaller batches or photo-realistic images.
Embroidery: Adds a premium look, great for uniforms or high-end merchandise.
For most bulk orders, screen printing is the most cost-effective and widely used option.
Tips for Saving More on Bulk Orders
Here are some ways to get the best bang for your buck:
Simplify Your Design: Fewer colors = lower printing cost.
Choose Standard Sizes: Custom fits can increase production complexity and cost.
Plan Ahead: Rush orders cost more, so place your order well in advance.
Ask for Quotes: Always compare pricing from different providers.
Go Local: Local printers might offer better deals and quicker turnaround.
Final Thoughts
Bulk custom T-shirt printing is one of the smartest ways to save money while promoting your brand or unifying your group. Whether you're planning a one-time event or an ongoing marketing campaign, bulk ordering delivers the quality and cost-effectiveness you need.

DTG vs. Screen Printing: Which is Better for Your Custom Tees in Chennai?
Tumblr media
Custom T-shirts have become a staple for businesses, events, colleges, and even personal branding. Whether you're launching a clothing line or printing tees for your team, the first question you’ll encounter is: Which printing method should I choose—DTG or screen printing? Both techniques have their advantages, but your decision should depend on your specific needs.
In Chennai, a city known for its vibrant textile industry and creative entrepreneurship, many customers face this exact dilemma. In this blog, we’ll break down both methods, highlight their pros and cons, and help you decide the best option for your custom T-shirt project.
Understanding the Basics: What Is DTG and Screen Printing?
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing DTG uses specialized inkjet technology to print directly onto fabric. It's a lot like printing an image from your computer onto paper—except on a T-shirt. This method allows for high-resolution prints with unlimited color variations and is perfect for small batches or one-off designs.
Screen Printing This is the more traditional method where ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto the fabric, layer by layer. It’s ideal for large orders and simple designs that use limited colors. Screen printing offers durability and vibrant color output but requires more setup time.
Comparing DTG and Screen Printing: Which Fits Your Needs?
When choosing between DTG and screen printing, consider the following factors:
Order Quantity
If you're printing less than 20 shirts, DTG is the more cost-effective choice. There’s no need to create screens or pay setup charges. On the other hand, screen printing is better for bulk orders because the cost per shirt decreases significantly with higher quantities.
Many t shirt manufacturers in chennai recommend DTG for startups and low-volume clients who want flexibility and fast turnaround. For corporate orders, screen printing often provides better value.
Design Complexity
DTG shines when your design involves photorealistic images, intricate graphics, or gradients. It reproduces high-detail visuals beautifully and with precision. Screen printing is best suited for bold text, logos, and simple graphics with 1–3 solid colors.
A wedding planner in Anna Nagar recently used DTG printing to create 15 unique T-shirts for bridesmaids with detailed caricatures. Meanwhile, a sports club in Velachery went with screen printing to produce 200 team tees with a two-color logo—saving costs and ensuring long-lasting prints.
Fabric Type
DTG works best on 100% cotton fabrics, while screen printing is more versatile and can handle cotton blends, polyester, and even specialty fabrics like dry-fit. This makes screen printing a go-to for athletic wear and promotional tees.
If you're working with a local provider, consult with t shirt manufacturers in chennai to understand how your chosen fabric will interact with the printing method. This small step can make a huge difference in final output.
Turnaround Time
If you’re in a hurry, DTG offers quicker turnaround—especially for small orders. Since there's no screen setup involved, your T-shirts can be printed and delivered in a day or two. Screen printing typically takes longer, especially if multiple screens need to be created and tested.
Startups launching pop-up stores in T. Nagar or Besant Nagar often prefer DTG due to the speed and flexibility. However, screen printing becomes more efficient when timelines are stretched over a week and larger quantities are involved.
Durability
Screen printing wins in terms of long-term durability, especially after multiple washes. The ink binds deeply with the fabric, making it ideal for uniforms or frequently used apparel. DTG prints may start to fade after 20–30 washes, although this varies based on ink quality and fabric.
This is why most t shirt manufacturers in chennai still lean towards screen printing when producing merchandise for colleges, fitness brands, or sports events.
Cost Comparison: What’s More Budget-Friendly?
Let’s say you're ordering 10 tees with a full-color design. DTG would be cheaper, likely costing ₹250–₹350 per piece depending on the design and fabric. The same order via screen printing could cost more due to setup charges and screen preparation.
But for 200 T-shirts with a two-color logo, screen printing could bring costs down to ₹100–₹150 per piece, making it the clear winner for large-scale jobs.
An expert from Chennai Printwear Solutions, a reputed custom apparel firm, says:
“We advise customers to pick DTG for personalization and creativity, and screen printing for consistency and bulk. The key is to match the method with your vision and budget.”
Eco-Friendliness: Which is Greener?
If you're environmentally conscious, DTG is the better option. It uses water-based inks and minimal waste. However, screen printing involves chemicals for cleaning screens and can be less eco-friendly unless done with sustainable practices.
Some eco-forward t shirt manufacturers in chennai are switching to organic inks and greener processes even for screen printing. It’s worth asking your vendor about sustainability practices if that’s important to your brand.
Quick Recap: Which Method Should You Choose?
Choose DTG Printing if:
You have a small order
Your design is complex or photographic
You want a fast turnaround
You prefer eco-friendly options
You want to experiment with designs
Choose Screen Printing if:
You have a large order (50+)
Your design uses fewer colors
You want long-lasting prints
You’re working with different fabric types
You’re budget-focused for high volume
Final Thoughts
Both DTG and screen printing are excellent in their own ways. The best choice depends on your design, quantity, timeline, and budget. If you're unsure, most professional t shirt manufacturers in chennai offer free consultations to help you pick the right method based on your goals.
Whether you’re creating personalized gifts, promotional tees, or launching a clothing line in Chennai, understanding these differences can save you money, time, and disappointment.

How to Save Money When Ordering from a Print Shop on the Gold Coast?
When looking for professional printing services, a print shop on the Gold Coast can offer high-quality prints for businesses, events, and personal needs. However, without proper planning, printing costs can add up quickly. Whether ordering business cards, flyers, banners, or promotional materials, there are several ways to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
Tumblr media
1. Choose Bulk Printing for Cost Savings
One of the most effective ways to save money is by ordering in bulk. Many printing services offer discounts for larger quantities, making it more affordable per unit. Instead of printing in small batches, consider ordering more to maximize savings.
Benefits of Bulk Printing:
Lower cost per item
Reduced setup fees
Fewer reorders, saving time and money
2. Optimize Design and Formatting
Before submitting a design to a print shop on the Gold Coast, ensure it is formatted correctly. Errors in formatting can lead to additional charges for adjustments and reprints. Using the right file type, resolution, and bleed margins can prevent unexpected costs.
Tips for Proper File Preparation:
Use vector files (PDF, AI, or EPS) for logos and designs
Ensure images have a resolution of at least 300 DPI
Convert text to outlines to avoid font issues
3. Select Standard Sizes and Materials
Custom sizes and specialty materials can significantly increase printing costs. Sticking to standard sizes and common paper types can help keep expenses low while still maintaining a professional look.
Cost-Effective Printing Choices:
Use standard paper sizes (A4, A5, DL, etc.)
Opt for economy-grade materials when possible
Avoid unnecessary finishes like embossing or foil stamping unless required
4. Compare Quotes from Multiple Print Shops
Prices vary between providers, so requesting quotes from different print shops on the Gold Coast allows for better price comparison. While the cheapest option is not always the best, finding a balance between quality and affordability is key.
Factors to Compare:
Printing turnaround time
Material quality
Additional service fees
5. Utilize Digital Printing for Small Orders
For small print runs, digital printing is a cost-effective alternative to offset printing. Digital printing eliminates the need for expensive setup costs, making it ideal for low-quantity orders.
Advantages of Digital Printing:
No minimum order requirement
Faster production time
Lower setup costs
6. Look for Seasonal Promotions and Discounts
Many printing services offer seasonal promotions, loyalty discounts, or referral programs. Keeping an eye out for special deals can help reduce overall expenses.
Ways to Find Discounts:
Subscribe to newsletters from local print shops
Follow printing businesses on social media for exclusive offers
Check for bundle deals when ordering multiple products
7. Reduce Unnecessary Printing Features
Eliminating non-essential printing options can result in significant savings. Consider whether additional features such as lamination, die-cutting, or special coatings are necessary for your project.
Cost-Effective Printing Alternatives:
Use matte instead of glossy finishes
Choose single-sided printing when applicable
Opt for black-and-white printing instead of full color if suitable
8. Plan Ahead to Avoid Rush Fees
Last-minute orders often incur extra charges for expedited services. By planning print projects well in advance, additional rush fees can be avoided.
How to Prevent Rush Costs:
Set a timeline for printing projects
Place orders early to allow for standard turnaround times
Review and approve designs quickly to prevent delays
Final Thoughts
A print shop on the Gold Coast provides essential printing services for businesses and individuals. By applying these cost-saving strategies, printing expenses can be minimized while maintaining high-quality results. From bulk ordering to choosing standard sizes, taking a strategic approach to printing can lead to significant financial savings.
For the best results, always compare prices, optimize designs, and take advantage of available discounts to ensure an affordable and efficient printing experience.
