Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:23-26

Aaron, his sons, and their descendants were set apart by God from the tribe of Levi to intercede for the people of Israel. While the rest of the tribe took care of the things pertaining to putting up, taking down and maintaining the tabanacle, the priests alone assisted the people in offering their sacrifices to God in the manner God had instructed.

When the people completed their sacrifices, Aaron and his sons were commanded to bless the people. In this blessing, they reminded the people that it was the Lord who was their source. It was due to his favor that the people prospered and had peace. In following the Lord and obeying his commandments, they could expect his blessing upon their lives.

Throughout the Old Testament, we find servants of God blessing others. These blessings were powerful and not taken lightly. Today we too can bless others in the name of the Lord. The apostle Peter declared us to be "a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people" (1 Peter 2:9)

Let us invoke God's blessing on those we minister to and who minister to us!

Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ will never withhold a single good thing from His children – Those who believe in Him and His Gospel Truth and choose to walk with Him. He is the source of our peace and He is our savior and protector. He will keep us to the very end and beyond.

As you live your daily Christian life, be encouraged to know that your needs have been met and God is always with you and that will never change. Thank God for His light and love that allows us to find everything we need in Him. Our mind and heart is at rest, because we know that He is with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us. May God fill us with His Holy Spirit and guide us to making peace with one another, so we may be exceptional examples of His truth, compassion and love. May we always be willing to follow and serve God, never influenced or carried away by our sinful, selfish desires.

Everyday, we must remember to thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for the grace that He poured out for us on the cross at Calvary. He has freed us from the burdens of sin and guilt. May He help us to always walk in His grace and Holy Spirit, not by our own measure. May He give us the humble humility to know that our freedom and eternal salvation is found only in Him, so that His grace may sustain us, and we may never lose sight of His love and light and mercy. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for calling us to Him and to serve Him. May He equip us to do all that He has called us to do so that as He works through us, He may use us to produce fruit, to reach others, and to encourage all brothers and sisters in Christ. May He work all of these things in us and through us for His Kingdom and His glory. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for all His creation, for His miraculous ways and for everything He does and has done for us! Keep the faith and keep moving forward in your walk with Jesus!

Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for His Holy Word and for sending His Holy Spirit so that we might have His grace, not only to awaken us and transform our hearts in our spiritual rebirth and guarantee our eternity with Him, but to also call upon Him whenever we are in need. Thank Father God Almighty and the LORD Jesus Christ for all the reminders of His love and mercy and faithfulness within His Holy Word. He is bigger than any challenge or circumstance in our lives. Knowing this within our minds and our hearts, nothing can deter our faith in Him and His Truth. Many of us will promise to lose weight, get more exercise, stop smoking, drink less, etc. How many of us will resolve to grow in our knowledge of the Holy Bible, or spend more time in prayer or be more Christlike in our dealings with others?

There's an old saying, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." Today is the perfect day to recommit ourselves to following Jesus Christ more closely, acting with love and compassion, forgiving old injuries, and working for justice with renewed vigor. As we have been blessed by God, so must we be a blessing for others.

Who are the people in your life that need a blessing today? Who are the strangers we meet who just need a smile, a nod, recognition of their existence? Maybe it's you that needs to look into a mirror and tell yourself that God loves you and has created and blessed you for His purpose. By committing ourselves to live each and every day as Jesus Christ would, we are fulfilling the mission that we are called to by God.

As we begin this New Year, let us pray and grow closer to Him day by day. This year, the next, and for the rest of our lives. God created us in His image to be instruments of His light and love in the world. The presence of God Part 5/6

Blessing others from the presence of God

Our lives ought to be lives of fellowship with God and with each other (koinonia) so we must become more aware of God and His people.

We all pray for family, friends, workmates, neighbours etc. but do we bless them from God’s presence?

Ffald-y-Brenin is a Christian Retreat Centre and House of Prayer in the hills by the sea in North Pembrokeshire, Southwest Wales, UK. This retreat centre has been experiencing a power and unusual presence of God for several years now.

One of the teachings coming out this centre is that as well as praying for our family, friends, neighbours, workmates etc. we should bless them in the name of Lord.

This seems to work best when we know the presence of the Lord strongly.

In Numbers 6:22–27, we find the great Aaronic blessing.

This is the blessing Moses instructed his brother, Aaron, to place on the people of Israel;

22 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, 24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: 25 the Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. 27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

I pray this over my loved ones every day, perhaps you would consider praying this too for your own loved ones?

A prayer might be (for someone who has no money)

Dear Lord, we ask in Jesus’ name for our friends 'John and Helen' that you provide all the material things they need today such as finance, a roof over their heads, food on the table etc. Amen

However we also have the power to bless (especially from the presence of God) which might sound like this,

Lord I bless 'John and Helen' in the name of Jesus Christ with every material blessing they need, I speak plenty over their lives, that they might have more than enough and be able to give to others as well.

Let's finish our devotions today by praying/pronouncing a blessing over someone you know.
