#the logical progression would be me making a livestream where I just tell fairy tales hahhhhh

When I was little, my father would pick me up from kindergarten and we’d go home by train. And on that journey I would ask “Papa, can I tell you a story?” And then for the rest of the way home, I would tell my (poor, tired, indulgent) father some (long-winded, probably incomprehensible) story, ie about fairies that lived in hollowed our trees and made clothes out of rose petals. The journey home probably took about 45 minutes and I would just keep going, making stuff up on the fly. So I think this is just a logical progression for me.
“Marie, what do you mean, telling yourself fairy tales?!” Well, see. I was shampooing my hair and thinking to myself “I wonder how I would tell a fairy tale in English” and then I thought “The ones who have nothing, fear nothing. There once was a soldier who had never learned to be anything but a soldier, and when he was let go from the army (because there were no wars to be fought, or because he was injured, I can’t say which), there was little left for him to do but wander from city to city, from town to town and from house to house, asking for bread or money from kind people. It happened one day that he wandered between towns and came to a great, dark forest. Soon, he had lost his way. After wandering around for a while, he finally came across a huntsman who sat on a cut tree. The soldier shook his hand, then sat down on the grass next to him. “I see you have fine, polished boots,” he said. “They’re very handsome, but if you had to wander around as much as me, they wouldn’t last long. Look at my boots. They’re made from buffalo leather and have served me many years, and will serve me many more”…” and at one point the tale was over and I was finished putting lotion on my skin. It works very well.
#storyteller since birth#not even writer#just. storyteller.#looking back at ANY age I was telling anyone who would stand still for long enough something#I only stopped at maybe 16 when I discovered fanfiction publishing#really interesting to think about#like it’s always been closely linked to people listening#the logical progression would be me making a livestream where I just tell fairy tales hahhhhh#haha!#hah.#…Hm 🤔#'that fairy story sounds cute!' you're lacking the necessary context that I was mostly going into detail re:fabric making out of rose petal#'and they soak it in dew and then they use pine needles to scrap and soften the petal. then it's dried on lines hung in the tree and-'#I'm sure there were others but this tale especially ('fabric making 101') is STUCK in my head
