In which Pounce's panic attack is interrupted by my FAVOURITE LITTLE GUY!!

Fun fact, I was gonna have Pounce stalking a giant pleistocene Pika but literally cannot find any reference to how big they were.

And then i realised pika are just,,, insanely tiny,,, so i used a marmot instead. I like marmots now, they're so chunky!

I drew Pounce with proper sabers by accident, big cats have milk teeth until they're 1yr old, whoops! Let's say it's uh... an effect... from baring them... being stressed out... yup

August: Day 8

Adventures

Went to a thrift store and the library's used bookshop.

Bought a copy of Around the World in 80 Days that looks more readable than my current copy (so long as it's not an abridged children's edition). May make a new cover for it.

Bought a book about the basics of astronomy. If I'm going to write about an astronomer, I need to know a tiny bit, and this looks like it's written for idiots with short attention spans, so it'll be great for me.

Bought the coolest pop-up book I've ever seen. For a quarter. I'll have to show you guys pictures.

Treated myself to Youtube videos about Victorian literature. Indulged in a few Gutenberg downloads. Read the first chapter of Lady Audley's Secret and this may derail all my reading plans until I finish.

Accomplishments

Read a few chapters of Heretics. Am now halfway done.

Tire. Twice.

Books of 2023. THE SINGING HILLS CYCLE by Nghi Vo.

Don't mind me, just on a novella kick over here. I read Empress a while back and enjoyed it (so that'll be a reread!), and then a friend recommended Tiger as similar to a novella of my own that's loosely in the works, and THEN I won a Goodreads giveaway for Mammoths (!!!!), so clearly the stars are just all aligning. Since Mammoths comes out in September, I wanted to Actually Read The Advance Reader Copy In Advance (and maybe even write up a Review!).

(Side note: I know Riverlands isn't pictured, but it's Not Out In Paperback Yet and all my editions must match.)

I recently heard about the sabertooth tiger cub mummified in ice and I remembered several years back there was a wolly mammoth calf found in similar condition and I am disregarding the food chain and saying they would be friends. No I do not make the rules. Yes I cried drawing this.

I wonder if these little babies know how much they help us know about their home and kind millions of hears later……………….. (I’m not ok)

Our kitties have been sitting out to make jerky for us and I figured I'd get a shot of my "twins" since they were both there. >.>

I was working out the exact spot for our water pen and found a little level 15 friend. Soon as Kel came down to see her it was decided she would join the otter pack. XD

Today Aras started our Base Basics event so I went out to obliterate the diplo population and found a 154 dire bear! Since our current bears are kinda low I brought him home, and while waiting for him to tame I spotted this 159 parasaur with stupidly high melee and figured why not.

And I've been having a single-player itch and wanted to get a pic of Center!Cooper so. He's not quite the right shade of blue, but he's close enough I'm happy.
