Movies that have a very obvious queer reading/subtext are the best kind of movies because if it’s already good, a queer reading instantly gives a fuck ton of more depth. It’s the cherry on top.

The thing about The Lighthouse is that it’s not about isolation.  It’s being locked in a place you cannot escape with someone who simultaneously treats you like dirt and thinks they are your friend, in a place designed to bring you stress and of which there is no hope of rescue.

A much more familiar feeling then simple isolation.
