The Legend of Outer Wilds - Gabbro's Secret

Oooh there's the big reveal! I don't have very defined scenes in mind for this AU, since I meant it to be left open for others to imagine stories with it, but Gabbro's big reveal is one of the rare scenes I had in mind for a while. Since Gabbro's design for TLOOW was very much inspired by Zelda villains, like Skull Kid and Ghirahim, I also wanted to make their presence more threatening, without making it a straight-up villain. But making them a little unstable without any reason didn't feel right for me. So I gave them a reason. I decided that they would be in the loop first instead of Hatchling. With their flying bug going rogue, they can barely leave the island. They solitude got to them, and when they got the occasion, the brought Hatchy into this! They will interact again! I will draw the second part one day, if I got time!

Some more TLOOW Gabbro art, but this time I went a bit nuts trying to make them look more sinister. Thus, the scythe and eldritch blobbos.

I read the Carrd, but I think I lost the plot with the Owlk somewhere because my first thought with what was provided was- Dead Hand? Dead Hand!! (My second thought was: Koloktos. If it's gotta push the Skyward Sword inspired setting, then Koloktos is a good stand-in. I will have my multi-limbed unholy beast, dang it!) Can you blame me? They're undead enough!! D: I was halfway through drawing this when my brain finally kicked in and was like "spears and bows, ya dunce." Okay, I'm sorry. I apologize for the butchered AU lore. ;-; The idea is fun, at least. The Legend Of Outer Wilds That's it guys! I'm finally posting about TLOOW! For those who don't know about this: This is a medieval-fantasy alternate universe of Outer Wilds, heavily inspired by the Zelda franchise

I've heard a while back the OW devs talking about how Zelda Skyward Sword frustrated them so much that it ended up being "everything not to do" in Outer Wilds. But with time, I ended up playing around with the idea of a crossover between Skyward Sword and Outer Wilds. I liked the idea of replacing space with an endless sky, the ships with giant bugs, the plants with islands, and I thought about the character design potential...

So I did it! I designed each characters, and then created a world with the help of a few friends!

I will also post all the concept art I did here, but in a different post! I'll make sure to give little descriptions and behind the scenes for all of them!

I Must unleash the TLOOW brainrot to the world, I've been trapped in my own personal limbo ever since summer but everything I've made for it has been.... bad, so nobody ever got to see or hear about it!!

Anyways, here you go, there is a longer an actual explanation about this but I gotta go do homework so not gonna explain it now <:D

Edit: ACTUALLY *SCREW* LATIN HOMEWORK. This is mostly about Gabbro's guilt about dragging the Hatchy into the loops. But also kinda hinting to the events that happened in one of Elwensas's TLOOW comics (please go find it its insane). I love to headcanon that Gabbro gets a bit worried and protective of the Hatchling when they're around Owlks for this reasondhsdjksh.

Their mask is off, they're injured. Emotions :tm: happening. Hatchy realizes that and for once decides that going for a hug is the only thing they can do rn. An action which gabbro isn't especially... comfortable in? They'd push them away or move out of the way as to avoid it. BUT HERE? Gabbro stunned as they were, only hug them back. Their guilt setting in.
