The Theories Idea for why People Hate The Last Jedi
Look, I am one of two things here. a) A very generic, fun loving, ‘I’m honestly here because this stuff just makes me happy’ person and b) someone who’s really REALLY new and shocked by the amount of hate generated from a show that hundreds of thousands to millions of people all love and enjoy. So everything I say here is based in opinion and just my general love for Star Wars.
Before the Last Jedi, I hadn’t seen any forums, or been apart of any tumblr blogs, instagram, or twitter accounts before (besides reblogging/retweeting the occasional picture of Carrie Fisher because let’s face it that woman IS gold), so I was left really in the dark when it would come to genuine fan speculation, or hate (or love) for what was going to happen next in the trilogy (not all speculation escaped my view, though, as I had seen some things involving predictions for the Last Jedi). Instead I was only a part of watching Film Theory (as I started on Game Theory and ALSO over analyze everything I see). So I’d seen those videos stating his very wrong predictions about Star Wars and especially the Last Jedi. They got people excited for the movie, but the theories were wrong. Okay, yes, and going into this blind, I have no idea how his YouTube channel would be name dropped in articles as the reason people don’t like the Last Jedi, when critics lOVED it. Because his theories were just that: theories; meant to provoke your brain and catch your eyes and opinions. But instead of trying to think about this from a psychological point of view, I’d rather just talk about the way I see it.
When I sat down to watch the Last Jedi, the first thing on my mind was not ‘oh would MatPat be right?’ or if any of the other theories revolving around Kylo (Ben Solo), Luke, or the damn Porgs was going to be accurate. Instead, you know what I felt? I felt the way you did when you were a little kid, on your way to go to your favorite place, or see your favorite person, that same fast heart beat and stupidly wide smile of my youth came back to me as I sat, reading the scrolling text of The Last Jedi, and feeling the loud cinima music of the Star Wars theme play in my chest. At that point in time, I didn’t care about any speculation I’d made before, I was just so excited to be able to here, alive and well, watching another installment of the most amazing movie/book/comic series, damn STAR WARS. This is a form of excellent cinematography, screenwriting, and acting playing together as a form of entertainment, to offer us an escape, to put a smile on our faces for two hours. This isn’t about anger or being pissed that you weren’t right or that some other guy on the internet speculated the wrong outcome. That’s like forgetting to do your homework, cheating off someone in your class last minute, and then getting mad at them for getting the wrong answer. This is on you, not them honey. And as a Reylo, if our speculation is wrong, my heart will hurt for Ben Solo, but that doesn’t make me love Star Wars ANY less.
I’d also like to say that in my short time involved in this fandom, and side of this fandom, I have felt nothing but loved, excited, and hyped for episode IX. That’s all these forums are, is a way to have fun and meet other people. Speculation and predictions are FUN. That’s all it is. And if those predictions are going to ruin the movie for you when it comes out, don’t get involved into these forums. Because when you do, and then you blame them for not liking the movie when it comes out, your damaging the fandom in stupid ways. We’re all here just to have a good time, and this is our way of fun and method of escape from our lives. So by dissing us and the movie, your accomplishing nothing but your own frustration, I promise. Know what works for you, and if you use us as the reason you’re gonna shit on IX then we don’t want you here. We want you to enjoy Star Wars, so follow the blogs that only post pictures or gifs, don’t read text posts, just be a fan, and then maybe you’ll actually enjoy the show.
Sincerly written by someone who just wants to enjoy Star Wars and its fans.

It’s pretty much universally accepted that Kylo Ren will be a walking disaster as Supreme Leader. But...
What if he’s actually really, really good at it? He spent his younger years watching Leia Organa get shit done, so wouldn’t it make sense that he picked up a thing or two from her?
It wouldn’ happen right away. In the immediate Post TLJ aftermath, he’s gonna be a mess. But eventually, once he’s gotten his emotions into some semblance of order...maybe he shocks everyone with how well he is able to manage the politics of it all.
Maybe he starts doing exactly what he said he wanted to do - letting all of the old shit die and trying to bring actual, lasting peace to the galaxy. Not through intimidation, not through fear...but through a fairness that astounds everyone.
