oasis first two albums are so great like idk i feel like oasis hate has to be entirely like contrarian and not like real right lol. like those first two albums are VERY solid and musically theyre really great its weird to see like idk more underground type publications bash on them just cause its eaasy to bash on whatever was rly popular. like i love how their sound particularly on the first album rly just perfectly bridges punk and like the classic rock sound so effortlessly. like idk ideologically it seems a lot of music after punk had to be able to hold water so that punk ideology couldnt just make it look so stupid (like w/ glam metal n stuff) like grunge obv like a fusion of punk type musical attitudes but w/ a more metal type thing and i think like oasis really nailed musically mixing like rolling stones type rock with punk its very cool lol i remember reading the keith levene perfect sound forever interview and the interviewer mentions thinking oasis sucks at one point and keiths like "i actuallly like oasis cause theyre upfront abt their beatles influence n stuff" lol like idk it seems kinda like low hanging fruit to hate them w/ wonderwall and their personalities n everything but like i think im comfortable saying that those first two albums are like the best thing to ever be associated w/ the whole britpop movement.

#completely understand hating 'britpop' tho just as a movement lol #like nothing against the bands themselves but the idea of it as a movement seemed very reactionary #and ofc vaguely racist or not so vaguely like w/ the 1996 brit awards bs #like it totally makes sense to hate all that and also just like it stealing thunder from shoegaze and just #musically the idea of britpop not being very interesting at all tbh like they all made great music i think the big bands #but just going from shoegaze to that seems kinda dumb and it as a reaction against 'dance' music is plain stupid #BUT anyways anytime i listen to oasis first album im like woaaaa at how idk good both the songs are and the band and #the just ideology of punk meets classic rock with liam sounding like lennon mixed with lydon #listening to morning glory rn i think i like their first more but the 2nd was the one i listened to more i think n both are great :)
