congrats! due to the recent explosion in bracket-style poll tournaments, all the obscure/neglected media tags you follow are finally getting new posts! your favorite old blorbos are once again seeing the light of day!!

🚨 ...uh oh! 🚨

unfortunately, all of the aforementioned posts consist of your deeply beloved offbeat blorbos getting completely curb-stomped by [insert character here] from [insert literally any recent/popular fandom here] in what has inevitably turned out to be a popularity contest rather than the original point of the tournament! oops!

#polls #shout out to the poll creators that actually include a ''i haven't seen one or both of these shows'' option to circumvent this issue #the issue being that everyone (understandably) votes for whichever one they recognize (bc participation is fun)#also. if this post somehow breaks containment someone will inevitably see my pfp and be like ''lol ok anime fan'' but this ain't about that #i've got hella todoroki fanmerch from back when i was obsessed but i still voted for miette as best tumblr blorbo.#didn't matter who i personally cared about the most. the poll was about the best TUMBLR blorbos and so i voted as such #of all the less popular media i follow. the only blorbo i've seen succeed in the polls is atul (from spiritfarer) in the frog tournament #the worst is definitely when a beautifully complex and well-written character you love gets defeated by. like.#shallow token/filler side character number 6 from some popular piece of media #especially when fans of said popular media obv don't really care about the character and only nominated+voted for them bc name recognition #anyway yadda yadda life is unfair uwu blah blah blah #my point is that it sucks when your fav offbeat media tags are getting completely drowned out by poorly seeded popularity contests #like. every suggested post for my followed tags these days is basically just. ''hey look!! ur neglected fav is losing again!!''#ik they have to tag for survey reach but it just ends up overwhelming quieter media tags with ''hashtag[popular show blorbo]sweep!1!!''#not madd #rivulette's thoughts
