okay remember how I said I was going to be unreservedly hyped about Veilguard? yeah, some reserve now.
The lack of choices to carry forward feels... shallow, and I kind of expect we'll see fewer codex entries than we have in past games. I mean, somehow they're going to have to completely avoid referencing the southern Divine or the rulers of Fereldan and Orlais, so that means just less information about southern Thedas in general. Cameos... Zev, Fenris, and Blackwall are all ruled out, since all of them could have been killed. Dorian is still possible, but would have to be written very vaguely. Merrill would have been a great person to see with the Veiljumpers, but now seems unlikely.
And like, I get that Our Friends can't be involved in ALL the major world events (except for Morrigan) but come on. No codices or letters or overheard references? That stinks!

No the fuck she doesn't, what the hell are you on about? This is the Hawke blood magic thing all over again, and this was always my concern with the Inquisitor coming back as an NPC. Their choice mechanism won't even account for whether or not you even HAD a good relationship with Solas, which is going to be weird for those folks who punched him.
I feel like Inquisition did a really good job of making it feel like the world had changed based on players' actions in past games, and now it sounds like Veilguard is going backwards in that regard and not even integrating player choice in its ephemera.
