The kura tribe exists on the southern border between yanxia and the steppe. Old, extremely old, they flit between the newgrowth forests and southern shrubland, always keeping a watchful eye south. That is to say, they are the historical firstline between Doma and the rest of the steppe, and it's a role they wear with pride. (As an aside, I do hc that pre-invasion, Doma was expansionist to the point of imperialism, if only because i think its weird doma as a country doesnt have like? Historical flaws?? Despite literally every other country on aetheris having some form of nuance.)

Once the Garleans properly took over, they had already been using their established foothold in the ruby sea and in yanxia to attack and try to grow into dominion of the steppe. The Kura, along with help from their western neighbors the Dotharl, beat back the Garleans every single time. This came at a loss, however, and this is where Naeke comes in.

Naeke had always been attuned to the aether of the southern steppe, feeling it flow around them like one might feel the currents of a small stream. Proficient at manipulating it, forming small constructs to deliver a hit or two, but nothing developed beyond that. The more practical, more useful skill of archery was their primary means of fighting and winning. But, when a star mahe was taken out, the tribe decided to send Naeke overseas to limsa lominsa in order to grow their natural talent for shaping magics. They did odd jobs while training, and the rest one can hear from the local bard.

Fun facts!

- you know how the official dragoon lore is that youre vibing with nidhogg on an aetheric level? Naeke has that but with bahamut. When they went into dreadwyrm trance for the first time, they felt something click, but only later did naeke realize that theyre not just channeling bahamut the primal, theyre channeling the remaining aetheric signature of bahamut himself. He does start to give Naeke Prophetic Dragon Dreams because for all that bahamut was a Protector Judge and otherwise Keeper Of The Peace, he is still a drama-fueled dragon.

- they are extremely devoted to the kura tribe and culture, and is always looking for little ways to keep it with them abroad. The first thing they do post ew is visit the tribe.

oooooooaaghagah this is so spicy... I love when people create their own personal tribes!!! This is so cool to hear, and I love the Bahamut connection to the dragoon thing ����👀 Very spicy indeed... it's such a good story idea especially considering how much inspiration and food Heavensward and the dragoon questline gives you!

If Nidhogg (and other dragons) have found connection with individuals before, I say why not make more of these connections possible!
